More like 3.5 Stars. Colorado Escape has moved to a new location. Previously located in Denver,…read morethey have re-located to Thornton, next to the American Furniture Warehouse. I selected the Heist - prison break to do with my boyfriend. When making the reservation, I was happy to see an opening for noon. Previous attempts to book a Friday noon time appointment were always full. The BF and I arrived 10 minutes early for our booked puzzle room. I was hoping that it would just be me, the BF and no one else; however, two other folks ended up joining the party with my suspicions that they were workers for Colorado Escape. The room can fit up to 8 people - so to ensure a private party invite 8 of your most likeable friends, otherwise risk being stuck in a room with random strangers. My Only complaint would be that because the BF and I like things done in a methodical manner and not out of order, it was hard to keep track of what other people found and where they found it, which contributes to confusion. The Heist puzzle room consisted of too many lock codes. I would have preferred more riddles, color scheme puzzles. At the end, the puzzle room was solved - with occasional clues dropped off in intervals. As someone who loves virtual puzzle room games, I had high expectations for my first actual puzzle room. Decor was nicely done, props creative, however, had mixed feelings about my first puzzle room. I will definitely try the other rooms but as my own private party of 8.

Not too sure why Colorado Escape has some low reviews. We've…read morebeen here 4 times now and absolutely adore this company. The rooms are challenging, fun and exciting. We really love the themes that they have- you can tell a lot of effort and time is put into creating these rooms. We did our very first escape room in Boulder, and the second time came here. We haven't gone to any other escape rooms since. The Boulder escape room we had gone to had riddles and puzzles that the only way you could solve them was if you had prior knowledge to going into the escape room. As for Colorado Escape rooms, they have puzzles and riddles, but the clues are hidden around the room. Very engaging and entertaining, I highly recommend Colorado Escape!
