My work team and I participated in an Escape Room at EscapeWorks as a team building activity. I'm not sure how great of a team building experience it was because we definitely argued the whole time about what the clues meant LOL The theming of the room we did was pretty good. It was the Egyptian Tomb room. Very moody feeling in there with dim lights to give you a little bit of a spooky vibe. There were a lot of fun aspects, like things popping out (we had a screamer in our group so that was hilarious), but we weren't smart enough to figure out the escape plan by the time our clock ran out. The attendant came in and told us how far we had gotten in the puzzle to make our escape and we were nowhere close! We either missed a few clues or this was a harder escape room than others I've done before. I feel like escape rooms overall are kind of going the way of the dodo, but this one was actually pretty fun and had good theming, so I do recommend checking it out for yourself. read more

We came as a group of 8 adults, some of us with solid escape room experience. Before booking, I called and spoke with their very friendly and helpful staff, who specifically recommended the casino room as their most challenging one. Naturally, we came in expecting a real challenge. In reality, we finished the room in under 35 minutes, and not because we're exceptionally brilliant. The experience felt surprisingly limited. There is essentially one main room, and while there is a second space, it doesn't contain any actual puzzles. Overall, there simply weren't enough puzzles to justify the "most challenging" label. The room feels like a first-generation escape room: lots of keys and locks, with a few nicer tech elements mixed in, but nothing particularly complex or layered. Most of us walked out surprised at how quickly it was over. What added to the confusion was receiving clues we didn't ask for, even though we were progressing just fine and ultimately escaped with about 25 minutes to spare. All in all, it was disappointing, especially given that this room was presented as their toughest, with a supposed 30% escape rate. read more

Dropped in during a bachelorette weekend to do the Vampire Hunter room. Gabby was very helpful in settling us in and answering all our questions. The Vampire Hunter room was a little on the smaller side, but the puzzles were fun to solve. Would definitely return to try other rooms. read more

We did the Egyptian Tomb and it was like my childhood dreams as an Egyptologist come true! Well decorated and maintained. The puzzles actually require thinking lol and Gabby always knew when to jump in with the hints when we got stuck. Loved this!! read more

EscapeWorks was a hit for our date night in Denver. We were looking for something fun on the fly. Boo had never been to an escape room so I suggested that we search for some. The thing that stood out about EscapeWorks was they accepted walk ins. We went straight in and were greeted. They asked did we reserve a room. Since we had not, they recommended we go with the next group that was coming in the next 30 mins. They told us it was the easiest room and would be perfect for us since my boyfriend had never been in a room. It worked out and we had such a good group . Owen was our facilitator and he did such an awesome job explaining the instruction and how the hints were given. We did I make it out. I want to give 5 stars I just think $70 for two people per hour is a little steep. read more

The room was challenging but not so much so that we got frustrated. We were able to escape the room with plenty of time remaining. Dakota was great. The rooms were actually hard. I don't like super easy rooms. Also we finished with only 5 minutes left, this means that the game master did a good job limiting hints. We finished with two unsolicited hints. I hate it when game masters give us hints just to get us out faster so they can go back to Instagram or Tik Tok and sitting around. My friends and I decided to venture into the city to try this escape room. The entrance was a little hidden, but after being let in, we were greeted immediately by the friendly staff. The staff was very friendly, and throughout our game, the game master was very on top of giving us clues when we had become stuck. That being said, he also didn't give us a clue without us first trying several ideas. There are 2 main reasons I'm rating this escape room at 3 stars. The first reason was the booking process. I have been to several escape rooms in and around Denver and in other cities like Las Vegas and DC; this was the first escape room where booking 4 people did not guarantee you'd have a private escape room. This means other people could book the same room and join us. The only way to guarantee the room would be ours was to pay for up to 5 people. So if you were a party of 2, you'd have to spend about $150 to reserve the room for you both. Otherwise, you have to just wait and hope no one else books the room. For this reason, we booked a 3 pm room hoping no one else would join us, and luckily, that thought was correct. I did not like how this business operates the reservation of escape rooms. The other reason I gave it 3 stars was the actual escape room. We completed the casino heist room, in which the themeing was ok, but many of the clues (I'm looking at you weird dog painting clue) were not straightforward, and the room overall was VERY linear. Also, unlike other rooms I've been to where you use a lot of physical clues and there are props all throughout the room for you to find, this room pretty much was solely visual clues or audio clues. Had this been my only issue, I would've given this review 4 stars. We had a decent time, but given our experience with the booking process and the somewhat lackluster escape room itself, I'm not sure if we will be back to try other rooms here. read more

My family had a great time at EscapeWorks. We were nearly through when our time ran out but Gabby walked us through the rest of the clues and I really appreciated that. Gabby is very pleasant and enthusiastic. My only concern is that the escape room was very expensive - $152 for a family of 4 for one hour of entertainment. As much fun as it was I doubt I would do it again at that price. read more

We had a great time at escape works today! Our family of 4 did the vampire room and it was quite challenging but we made it out with 5 minutes to spare! The puzzles were very well thought out and definitely kept us excited and intrigued throughout the entire game. My friends and I wanted to do an escape room and after finding out that the Casino Heist one had an 8-12% success rate, our interests were piqued. We ended up succeeding with 13 minutes left and having used 3 hints. It was definitely difficult but not as difficult as the success rate may portray so do not be intimidated! I gave 4 stars as opposed to 5 because compared to other escape rooms I've been to, the level of intricacies to the puzzles are a bit lacking. Still fun nonetheless.
