DOOOO NOOOTT TESSSTTT HERE RUNNNNN! If I could give zero stars I would, unfortunately I don't have…read morethe option. I took my driver's test today with (DOLORES), and it was, without question, one of the most unprofessional and disrespectful experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, her attitude made it clear this would not be a fair or objective evaluation. There was no courtesy or professionalism just a cold, dismissive demeanor that immediately raised red flags. I've been driving since I was 17 and have consistently passed every driving test I've taken, including operating rideshare and specialized government vehicles. I know what a proper evaluation looks like and this was not it. I was failed without any clear or constructive explanation. When I asked for feedback, I was met with laughter and a condescending response instead of professionalism. Being laughed at during an official evaluation is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of integrity. An examiner's role is to assess skill fairly and communicate respectfully. What I experienced instead was bias, poor conduct, and a complete disregard for basic professionalism. Not to mention she had an AirPod in her ear and poor hygiene. If this is the standard here, it raises serious concerns about the credibility of the entire testing process and this facility. I will not be recommending this location, and I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Truly unacceptable. Oh and to KEVIN THE "OWNER" writing all the response emails on yelp trying to defend this company. You need help those are some nasty responses you are writing to everyone. Learn how to be a bit more professional.

I had such a great experience testing with Aly. After failing multiple times at another testing…read moreschool, I was extremely nervous going into my exam but Aly was professional, calm, and made the entire process feel fair and clear. She explained everything well, kept a reassuring tone, and I truly felt like I was being evaluated correctly instead of judged harshly. Because of her and the positive environment, I passed on my first try at American Driving School. I'm so grateful for Aly's patience and professionalism. I highly recommend requesting her if you're taking your driving test she made a stressful day so much easier. Thank you again, Aly!

Excel Driver Services - Instructors guide students through the CDL pre-trip inspection, building confidence and readiness for the CDL test!

As someone who has been a corporate trainer for over 20 years as well as an OSHA trained safety…read moretrainer, I was appalled at the Commerce City locations CDL training. Orientation consists of the students sitting around a conference table as each instructor comes in and tells horror stories of things that can happen on the road. There was no class schedule or agenda for any given day. We did not know what we were going to be doing until we were doing it. There was no overall plan conveyed. No feedback given. One day after lunch my group stood around for 2 plus hours waiting for our instructors to figure out what we were doing. We were told to be there at 6:30AM every day, but didn't leave the office until 7:30 or 8:00. Every instructor taught everything differently. I was taught the Pre-Trip inspection 3 different ways from 3 different instructors. I watched them move students from 1 truck to another, no consistency. Had one instructor that insisted on smoking while teaching us. At one point, our class of 16 was mixed in with another class of 9 halfway through the course. There was 10 students spread between 2 trucks and 2 instructors at the backing yard. I watched as 1 student, who was in the middle of performing his first successful offset backing, get stopped by his instructor and pulled out of the truck to leave in another. Everyone in my class had their tests rescheduled if not once, but multiple times. Students were forced to test in trucks that they were not familiar with and the even had different length of trailers. Spent a grand total of 5 minutes in their simulator. Instructors tell you that 95% of the trucks on the road are automatic transmissions, yet Excel has a grand total of 1 in their fleet. They insist on trying to train people how to drive a standard transmission that have never even done so in a car. Now lets get to the safety aspect or lack thereof. We were forced to perform pre-trip inspections while parked along a busy frontage road. No signs anywhere on the truck that says student driver. On day 2, with zero drivetime behind the wheel, I sat in the sleeper cab and watched as a 23 year old that had never even driven a standard transmission before, be required to drive in rush hour traffic on I76 to go to the backing yard. Our instructor got us lost numerous times while a student was driving, once having a student drive through narrow residential streets. Instructor having us turn right when he meant left and vice versa. At one point even had a student turn down a dead end road. Had a tire blow out on the trailer in the middle of nowhere and had to sit on the side of the road for 3 hours. After the course was done I reached out to some of the students in my class and found out that 13 of the 16 students failed their 1st test. That tells me its not the students, its the instruction.

Do not recommend! I was a trainer there and had no training myself as a trainer as i was promised…read moreupon accepting job. They trained me for about 8 days after saying it would be 5 weeks and then let me alone with 3 students who had no idea on how to drive. NO communication what so ever! Don't waste your time or money!

This review is ONLY for the 16950 W Colfax Ave #107A, Golden, CO 80401 location. I went to take my…read morescheduled driving test at this location. Sat in the lobby waiting for my appointment to come up. In walks the instructor "Thomas" with a younger kid who was the appointment before me, he walked in with a smile and said to the kids mother "He failed, would you like me to tell you why? Then listed off 10+ reasons such as being 1mph over the speed limit and not stopping long enough at a stop sign. I knew I was in for it at that point. We got into my vehicle and I told him I had to start it via interlock device first...then he marked his clipboard. Told me to make a left turn, id signal to make a left turn then get criticized about my speed, hand position on the wheel, etc. Id even say "okay" to agree and then get told not to speak at all during the test. Then we drove through a school zone, no flashing yellow light was on or blinking and there wasn't a person in sight so I followed the speed limit sign 30mph and then he told me "well that law violation will cost you the test" and then I said there was no blinking yellow light indicating to slow down to 20mph and he rose his voice and we began to argue. I told him he was very unprofessional and I would like to conclude the test now and I drove back to the golden location. Then he says would you like me to tell you why you failed the test? I said you probably wouldn't care to hear my response back to you and he exited the vehicle. So I payed another $80 and made an appointment at the Lakewood location 2 days later. My instructor this time was the lead supervisor. He was great. We talked as we drove, I followed his commands just fine and followed all instructions, and didn't get yelled at or criticized the entire time. We got back to the Lakewood location and he told me I passed with a "7". And I got my license the same day. Community Driving School is great, wonderful alternative to the DMV for testing! THOMAS you should consider working at the license bureau printing license plates. If you're trying to get your license AVOID the golden location at all costs. Instead go to any other of the community driving school locations. Thomas - no stars Lead supervisor - 5/5
