I took an adult watercolor class for three sessions in December. I signed up for this class because…read moreI am familiar with watercolor but I wanted more ideas, tips, and techniques to improve my skills. For the first session, we had a sub for the class and she seemed apprehensive on how to lead the class. The two hours consisted of us essentially having free time to paint and a few basic brush movements. The second class was then led by the main instructor who seemed more confident and taught us basic skills such as painting wet on wet, dry on dry, etc, however this should've been done the first week. Additionally, the supplies we were given were not great, most of the paints we were given were out of certain colors and we were given a small number of papers and had to request for more if needed, which felt unnecessary. After she went over these ideas, she let the class go on Pinterest and choose a painting they'd like to replicate. She would walk around and give positive praise, however, did not offer feedback or various ideas on how to improve the painting. I love the concept and idea of this class, however, I'm disappointed this felt more like a free paint time rather than an instructional class for paying almost $200.

When we got there Friday night, we met the down-to-earth owners + their tiny, sweet dog & the rest of our group! Then, we got a ton of wine samples while chatting with the owners + our fun group! After sipping on some great wine made in-house for an hour or so - seriously, so much wine - we decided, as a group, what type of white wine & red wine we would make together. And then, we got started with pouring & stirring the ingredients - most everyone got a chance to do something! & when we were done, we sipped on some more wine and chatted some more. Now, we get to create our own label to put on our bottles and in a month or so, we'll be back at Wine & Whey to share a potluck with our group while bottling the wine! This is such a fun, social experience. I'm definitely interested in coming back for a cheese class! Everyone who likes wine, cheese & meeting people who have that same common interest should definitely check this spot out!

I was a bit nervous because I was alone, but I ended up having a blast! First, you are greeted by THE CUTEST little dog, Zara. She was seriously so sweet and adorable. Every time the door chimed she'd jump up and excitedly run to say hello to the newest person. Everyone in the group was nice and we all had fun getting to try many different wines, and learning about the post-crushed-grape wine making process. I cannot say enough great things about the owners; a down to Earth, married couple who have a clear joy for teaching people new things. I was so impressed by the class (and surprised at how much I liked some of the wines), that I'm discussing with my fiancé to make our own wine for our November 2019 wedding! Even though the Groupon was an awesome gift to get, I would pay full price for these classes, and I definitely intend on checking out the cheese class. Do yourself a huge favor and buy yourself this class!

Overall: Trustworthy place for alterations and custom work…read more He's clear about what's realistic, what isn't, what he can do, and why. Alterations: George transformed a delicate silk dress so the top half not only fit but flattered me. It had the perfect balance between loose and structured. He added a built-in bra with no visible trace and perfectly matched darts on both sides, plus a high-quality liner that feels invisible. I can just throw the dress on and feel comfortable and polished without extra layers. Worth every penny. Fabric: He sources materials within a reasonable budget without sacrificing quality (though some fabrics may cost more, I think it's worth it). He found a perfect liner match for my silk dress that feels incredibly soft. Design: Versatile with a strong eye for design across styles, from casual to formal to couture-like pieces. He can also create custom clothes tailored to your body and personal style. Price: Reasonable. Quality work reflects the value. Sewing Classes: Two great experiences so far. Hands-on, practical, and tailored to your pace and project. Relaxed and informal, which I like. He starts by getting you comfortable on the sewing machine right away and shares helpful tips as you progress. He's patient with questions and plans to offer more project-based classes in the future, like tote bags. My Projects so far: 1. Organza blazer: Adjusted the upper sleeve design to hide small holes. Now, it looks subtly more unique. Learned how organza fabric behaves and how to plan, prep, and mark before execution. 2. Sheer burnout velvet top: Undoing a previous alteration and redesigning the fit of a delicate, boxy top with two finicky layers. He walked me through the full process--from prep to execution--including stitch removal, fabric behavior, needle selection, machine basics and maintenance, tools worth having (and not), measuring and marking, steaming techniques, cutting precision, darts, shaping the armpit area cleanly, secure stitching methods, and possible fixes if mistakes happen. Next session will focus on finishing the top, adding a built-in side zipper, and learning how to use my new Pfaff sewing machine. Space: Small but well-equipped with multiple machines, a few seating spots, and one curtained dressing area. Tucked into an alley among creative, independent businesses with a welcoming community feel. Extra: His gentle, golden-eyed dog, Gray, makes the space even more welcoming. He loves pets and tug-of-war and stays quietly nearby.
