So I decided to take the class to learn how to drive safely in snowy/icy weather. Michal was very knowledgeable and I learned a ton. The first part of the class involved watching informational slides as he talked and some videos of scary accidents. The actual driving portion was super fun! You get to practice how to handle different types of skidding, and Michal would give you notes on what went wrong and how to correctly navigate. I was not very good at first, but after doing it over and over again, it felt more like second nature by the end of class. I'd highly recommend this class!

And then tell you if you don't pay their nearly $100 "cancelation" fee (because they cancelled you from the class for missing the required in tiny print form) that same day your child will be removed from the program. Oh and you have to pay cash (how? no instructions) or they charge even more money to use a card. I'm sure there are better programs to work with, but they have our money now.

Sat in the lobby waiting for my appointment to come up. In walks the instructor "Thomas" with a younger kid who was the appointment before me, he walked in with a smile and said to the kids mother "He failed, would you like me to tell you why? Then listed off 10+ reasons such as being 1mph over the speed limit and not stopping long enough at a stop sign. I knew I was in for it at that point. We got into my vehicle and I told him I had to start it via interlock device first...then he marked his clipboard. Told me to make a left turn, id signal to make a left turn then get criticized about my speed, hand position on the wheel, etc. Id even say "okay" to agree and then get told not to speak at all during the test. Then we drove through a school zone, no flashing yellow light was on or blinking and there wasn't a person in sight so I followed the speed limit sign 30mph and then he told me "well that law violation will cost you the test" and then I said there was no blinking yellow light indicating to slow down to 20mph and he rose his voice and we began to argue. I told him he was very unprofessional and I would like to conclude the test now and I drove back to the golden location. Then he says would you like me to tell you why you failed the test? I said you probably wouldn't care to hear my response back to you and he exited the vehicle. So I payed another $80 and made an appointment at the Lakewood location 2 days later. My instructor this time was the lead supervisor. He was great. We talked as we drove, I followed his commands just fine and followed all instructions, and didn't get yelled at or criticized the entire time. We got back to the Lakewood location and he told me I passed with a "7". And I got my license the same day. Community Driving School is great, wonderful alternative to the DMV for testing! THOMAS you should consider working at the license bureau printing license plates. If you're trying to get your license AVOID the golden location at all costs. I did an hour refresh drive and then drive test (during COVID times). Everyone was very nice,…read moremasked, and organized. Great instruction! I'm an adult who lived in cities for 15 years. I got my license in high school, but after city living when it came time to renew I didn't feel at all confident I could drive. So I got a state ID so I would have to take the test again before driving again. I started by calling the number on the website and (3 separate times/people) was always met with kind, helpful, clear service. They scheduled me at the closet location and was able to schedule back to back. Super easy! I had "Coach" for both drive lesson and test. He was super clear and informative. He was simultaneously relaxed and motivating. When test time came he was very clear about the expectations, how it would be different (practice talking and lots of help, can ask questions versus test, not allowed to answer questions and required to remain silent). Excellent teacher! Overall I highly recommend DriveSafe. They are very professional, supportive, knowledgeable, and easy to learn from. Fair pricing, excellent customer service.

I tested with DriveSafe in Westminster and unfortunately had a really discouraging experience. I…read morefailed multiple times there and felt like the testing was extremely strict and inconsistent, which made the process much more stressful than it needed to be. After two tests at the Westminster location, I was told I would need to go to a different location to continue testing, which was frustrating and inconvenient. I ended up taking my test at a different school and passed on my first try, which showed me that the environment and examiner really matter. I hope DriveSafe can improve consistency and communication for future students, because it was not a positive experience for me.

Of course as a parent I attempted to cover these myself, but this class absolutely should have included hands-on instructor time with these more difficult elements of driving. They never went on I-25, never got on a windy road and spent zero time on parking. I worked on these with my child, resulting in lots of eye rolling and minimal effort because, duh, teenagers do not listen to their parents. Of course she got her license without issue because none of these areas are tested, but I would have been far more confident in her driving had someone (besides me!) practiced all of these with her.

Coach was obviously at the PhD level of knowledge but explained it all in a fundamental and logical way that we all could follow. The game has many many rules but we learned the basics which gave us the confidence to hit Blackhawk that afternoon and actively participate at the table. I would highly recommend this 2-hour session to all ages and knowledge levels from a fun coach who can teach at any level needed and provide an interesting and very fun experience! We paid a little under $50 per person.... definitely a great investment!
