    Gluten free pizza
    Florence S.

I was really excited about trying this place since I found it in a "top of the places making gluten free pizzas in Dublin", so we got there today and tried their pizzas. I first was really happy to finally find a place with gluten free pizzas, and I'll give it three stars just because I really appreciate that effort. The service was alright and the place is nice too, a bit noisy but it was ok. Coming to the pizza in itself, gluten free pizza are approximatively half size of the normal pizza, the toppings a pretty good, but the crust in itself... was actually really hard to cut, and a bit oily, definitively not the best I had so far in Dublin.

I had : shared starters, margarita pizza with a Romano base We went on a Friday night with a group of us because they could cater to our party size and accepted Amex. Our table was ready on time when we arrived although not all of our party arrived at the same time. The staff seemed extremely stressed throughout the meal and at times I felt like we were inconveniencing the staff by dining there. I found that quite off putting. The food was grand but nothing spectacular to write home about. It's not exactly cheap and I think you can get nicer pizzas in other Italians nearby for the same price or less.

Essentially, Milano is Pizza Express - you can tell by some of the accoutrements and it is actually written on the menus. However, it prefers to forget about its humble roots and pretend to be a fancier joint than it really is, perhaps because of its posh Dawson Street location. The pizzas are fine, thin-based and tasty, although nothing to rave about. I am particularly bewildered by the Leggera, the 500 calorie pizza with a hole in the middle filled with salad. Really? You couldn't just make it smaller? Milano is very popular, however, especially with those who want to line their stomachs before overpriced pints in Café En Seine, so be sure to book ahead.

Love the deals you can look up online on their offers website. I had dough balls and melanzane al forno. My friend had a four seasons pizza, which is technically no longer on the menu, but the staff were flexible and made it for her nonetheless. All delicious!

We are in Dublin on vacation from Chicago and we wanted something light for dinner. We stumbled upon this pizza place and we were able to get seated right away even while very busy. The staff were very friendly and the pizza was delicious! I ordered the margarita pizza which was very thin and crispy and my fiancé ordered the vegan. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu. We have found Dublin to have very good desserts and Italian food including pizza! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice pizza place for dinner!

Last night was my first visit to the Dawson Street Milanos. There were five of us, we had no reservation, and they were pushed to find us a table even though it was only 6 o clock. A very good sign, especially as the restaurant is massive. We were squeezed in down the back. The service was prompt and friendly, and within about 20 minutes of our arrival, we were sitting in front of 5 pizzas, glasses of wine in hand. I ordered one of the new leggera pizzas, which has a hole cut out of the middle, filled with a simple rocket and cherry tomato salad. This is an ingenious ideas, as I find a whole pizza too much and ordering salad as a main when your companions are scoffing cheesy pizzas is usually a recipe for food envy. The salad was great, but the pizza was dry, fairly tasteless (even after a dousing of chilli oil and parmesan) and the base quite tough. Overall, it left me wishing that I had opted for a big salad after all. The others were similarly non-plussed by their meals. In general, the pizzas were too dry, with not enough cheese. All that said, we really enjoyed our visit here, which goes to show that a good meal out can often be more about the company and atmosphere than the food itself. Oh, and one other reason - we had 2 for 1 main course vouchers, which you can print off the website until the end of November.

This place shocked me!…read more I found San Lorenzo's via Yelp, so thank you Yelpers! It is one of the few places in Dublin that takes American Express cards. So you can leave home without it when you come here When we asked if they had a table they said only if you are up from the table in an hour. We were hungry so we agreed The environment is dark and tasteful and lively The wine list is not good, but the food and the staff make up for everything The avocado and caprese salad was awesome The shrimp in wine sauce was off the charts delicious The chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto was delicious and the polenta and creamed corn were spectacular The monk fish wrapped in crispy pancetta on a bed of pesto basil was amazing To top it off we had the Nutella cheesecake with Carmel sauce and gelato with biscotti crumbs on top- this was surreal!!! All this and we were done with all the food, a bottle of wine and cappuccinos in an hour and never felt rushed If you are in the mood for Italian food, come to San Lorenzo's

After finishing the starter, it took a bit too long for the main dish to come out. Once it did come out, we were kind of full from the first dish. The wife for the Zucchini Primvera. Things I liked about Sprezzatura: - whatever you're in the mood for (marinara, carbonara, bolognese...), it's probably on the menu that night - the sauces are rich/heavy. I like, but maybe not everyone will. - generous portions - super friendly service Things I wasn't crazy about: - the finish on the table left a stickiness that was annoying as we sat through our meal - the kitchen door kept slamming shut (loudly) with every staff pass-through and needs some sort of better hinge or soft close mechanism - each pasta dish was a bit overrun with sauce. I might have soaked it up with some bread, but the amount was unnecessary for the pasta alone. We ordered three pastas dishes. I actually liked the one I didn't order the most - an amatriciana-like red sauce with a little spice. My wife enjoyed the Fettucini, Nduja and Mascarpone. The Mafaldine Cashel Blue (cheese) and Roasted Walnuts, which also had caramelized onions in it, was actually not as sweet as I expected (or wanted) it to be. What we did agree on, though, was how delicious the arancini was (we went with spicy sausage). I would lead with that...but don't get carried away. The wine choices were limited, but solid. And the price was very reasonable. I'd go back again (if I actually lived in Ireland!), mostly when I have a fix for a certain flavor. There was a lot of delivery business taking place during our visit. I suspect these sauces don't travel well (no firsthand experience with that), so dine in seems like the better call to me.
