After multiple attempts at communicating with those preferred vendors, there was 1 viable choice, but it was overpriced for what I needed and she ended up leaving me hanging on appointment availability anyway. Once that happened I took it upon myself to go on Yelp and find alternative solutions. Out of the next 2-3 choices I ventured out to, Nadia was the one I opted for because she was straight forward and was the only one who offered me 2 different bustle options - American (over) bustle or ballroom (under bustle). As a bonus, she was also 1/3 of the price of the wedding dress boutique's preferred vendor! Communications were all through Yelp messaging - clear cut for scheduling. Make sure for your fittings you always bring the shoes you'll be wearing for an accurate hem, etc. I opted for the ballroom bustle and Nadia numbered the attachments. During a subsequent fitting I had the MOB and MOH accompany me so they knew what to expect for doing the bustle on the day of the wedding. Forms of payment accepted are cash, card, and money sharing apps - I opted for Zelle.

I've been holding off on writing this review until I got wedding photos back to show the amazing…read morework Carole put into my gown! I seriously cannot recommend Carole enough! I initially chose a less expensive seamstress for my wedding dress alterations, and unfortunately, the neckline was completely botched and uneven. With my wedding only being 1 month away, this was a huge disappointment and caused an unnecessary additional amount of stress. I brought my dress to Carole, who was recommended by the bridal shop, and she was an absolute pleasure. She fixed the neckline beautifully and, while working on the dress, also noticed that the original bustle had been poorly done and was likely to break. Only 1 button for all that fabric (right where my bottom hits the chair), I mean come on! Carole fixed it beautifully with a French bustle. Before and after photo below. What I appreciate most is that she was willing to take on someone else's work and fix it, even though I had originally passed on her because her quote was higher. After seeing the love and quality she put into my dress, I truly wish I had just gone with her from the beginning! She was professional, knowledgeable, and so so kind. I'm forever grateful she was able to save my wedding dress so I could wear it with no regrets on my special day! I am truly so appreciative of Carole and the work she put into my gown. I will be recommending Carole to all my besties for their gown alterations and I definitely recommend her for yours too!

She guided me on how to travel to Mexico with my dress and gave me the confidence to do so. I am so over the moon that I was able to wear my mom's dress for my mom and the rest of my family in Mexico. My mother could not be in the states for my civil ceremony, but with her dress she was as close to my heart as possible. Thank you again Carole.

Beautiful Alterations

I've trusted Gamila at Beautiful Alterations with my clothing for nearly eight years, and I…read morehonestly can't imagine going anywhere else. She's done everything from everyday alterations to creating custom garments for me, and every single piece has been flawless. Her craftsmanship, attention to detail, and ability to bring an idea to life are truly remarkable. What really speaks to her talent is that my sister located in NY works in the luxury designer apparel industry, where part of her job is evaluating and working with some of the best seamstresses around the world. She's incredibly selective and has exceptionally high standards. After seeing Gamila's work firsthand on a vintage garment I wore to the Versace runway show in 2022 my sister immediately recognized that my garment was customized and asked me who did my garment and complimented her skill and craftsmanship. That says everything. Gamila has an incredible eye for fit, construction, and detail. Whether it's a simple alteration or a custom piece, she treats every garment with the same level of care and precision. Her work looks seamless--as if it came that way from the original designer. If you're looking for the best seamstress in the Sacramento area, look no further. Her talent is unmatched, her prices are fair, and she genuinely cares about her clients. I recommend her without hesitation.

I was only partially happy with the alteration job I received. The ruffles on the chest of the…read moredress were wavy, so I brought the dress in to have the shoulders lifted because it pulled the ruffles more taught and I am quite short. When I came back to try on, they were much better but still not great, as shown in the image. When I went to check out, I noticed a splotch on the shoulder of the dress on the sleeve. VERY small. When I asked her about it, she said it wasn't there before (which tells me that it happened in the shop, which it did). However she did not offer to dry clean it or try to get the stain out. Reasonably priced. I would only come back if I needed a simpler alteration, but not for another bridesmaid's dress. *update* due to my interaction with Alice, who reached out to see how she could make my experience better, I am updating my review from a 3-star to a 4-star. Thanks.
