Yes, I love their pastries, and I wanted to support them during these hard times. But I spent 5 minutes at the front counter on a Thurs afternoon trying to get the attention of 2 guys in back who were deliberately ignoring the front of the store. It took me and another customer shouting over the blaring music, banging on the counter, and finally calling their phone # to get their attention--no, they weren't on the phone with anyone else. Sorry, Mike's, I'm going to support other businesses who keep an eye out for customers, which isn't asking too much. read more

This is my favorite from Mike's Pastry. It comes with good combination. But I can't remember the name of this dessert. read more

Mike's Pastry - Bakeries Near Me - Somerville, Massachusetts

Our favorite bakery. We love the new locations! Can't say enough about lobster tail and cannolis, our go to favorites.

Where to begin. I have been dreaming of mike pastry's lobster tails since my first encounter a few weeks ago. finally I decided it was time for another one. I trekked out to somerville eager for a tail and when I took my first bite I was shocked. It was slightly stale. The lobster tails must have been sitting out all day because they were not the flaky beautiful tails I had previously. needless to say i was crushed. I obviously will be back because a girl cannot resist her tails, but I really hope they won't be stale next time. till we meet again mike xoxo read more

Within 1 week, I bought cannolis from Faneuli Hall, a neighborhood bakery, and Mike's Pastry. In Faneuil Hall there are several bakeries so I just picked one and its possible another bakery in Faneuli Hall could taste better. The pistachio cannoli from Mike's Pastry was on a whole another level compared to the other 2 places. The filling was smooth and not overly sweet. The shell was crunchy. I was planning to eat half at the store and eat the other half later but it was so good I devoured the cannoli at the store.I would recommend Mike's Pastry for cannolis. read more

Excellent the mikes in Boston way better the lobster tail phenomenal t‍‍‍he tiramisu excellent. my only gripe is that the staff was the most unprofessional between Boston loc‍‍ation and the somerville ones i myself was very disappointed and it obviously wasn't the pastries we walked in, and those three girls just standing there, staring at us with daggers in their eyes, just look like straight disgust and the same assembly Row. Just as bad if not worse I got a lobster tail got home and didn't even ask. Oh, do you want any stuff‍ on it like the powdered sugar after she handed to me rudely of course it's not just me and you happens to everybody when you get home someone forget something but it's like sometimes you get the poached sugar. It's like you don't have it you don't even want it but yeah I think doing Boston's way better the staffs the same way I mean maybe they were all just having a bad day at the same time and to boot it was my son and myself and his mom and did not one say hi how r u.. especially My Son like I can kill a small ass but at least acknowledge him and say something you know other than that I love Mike's just think the customer service sucks but the way it is set up is comfy. And cozy and def a place to chill for a midday pastry read more

Pistachio, chocolate chip, limoncello cannoli are fabulous. Lovely Italian cookies, heavenly pastries. Try the eclair so good! No lines!

Some good treats, lot of empty selves. Had better. Only went for a friend. Was not impresed, would not make it a point to go out of my way to get anything. read more

Always a great place for treats!!! Love the lobster tails, my wife's favorite. They do accept credit cards at the location. Lots of cannolis to choose from. A few tables to sit at if you want to eat your treats write away. read more

See all

This place is awesome. Pretty tucked away. I was amazed at the size of the pastry. It was busy when I went but I heard it was a place to check out, so my girlfriend and I went and we were impressed. read more

The place is half the size of the North End bakery and feels like a smaller selection of products as well. It wasn't crazy busy like North End location usually is, and so t was easy to sit down and have some dessert and cappuccino. We have tried several of the selections over time. Most are quite good. Most recently and favorite was Nutella cheesecake! Also German brownie and peanut butter brownies are awesome as well! Enjoy any of these delicious treats with a cappuccino. Awesome and quick service. Just wish they had the full selection. read more

Great desserts without the hassle of doing into the north end, easy to drive and park, and the ladies at the counter were very helpful!

I spent $22 on 4 things. Worst bakery ever. I don't get the hype. I threw out 2 things. I ate a canoli and it was god awful. Didn't taste like one. Gave one to my mom she said the same thing and was sick all night. I had to go get some real Italian pastry today. Three co workers said they will never go there again as well read more

A must go place when in Boston. Best cannolis I've ever had! Tons of unique flavors such as peanut butter, amaretto, hazelnut, Oreo, Nutella, etc. read more

Cupcakes are great. Cheesecake is great. Chocolate mouse cake is great. Eclairs - not so much.

Incredible! Same Mike's Pastry, way easier to get to and ZERO line at 8am. Need I say more?

I love Mike's pastry!! Its a bit hard to find parking on Hanover st. This place is perfect! Since I always go to assembly road. The girl who took my order was extremely nice too. read more

Stopped in around 6. There was a wait, a line from the after-work crowd. (The shop is right next to the T station). Since it's a small shop, I was afraid they'd have just a fraction of what they offer in the North End, but that's not the case. Of course they don't have EVERYTHING (sorry, no gelato) but they do have quite a large selection. Lots of cookies, cupcakes, cannolis, brownies, and individual cake slices. One thing I was really hoping for was a better ordering system than they have in the North End since that system really sucks. (I just don't understand why they don't institute a number system there or at least a line system. Hoards of people just push their way in, all the while they are blocking the cases so you can't see what you want until you're up and then they get annoyed when you are still deciding what to order.). People cut in line and it's just unpleasant mayhem - and the poor tourists are clueless - and that's part of why I try not to go there. Sorry, I digress,.... Anyway, here, with the setup they have, they should put up ropes and form a bank line along the wall so the case is in clear view for you to decide and that means you're ready to order when it's your turn.....which would speed up the line....and make the experience more enjoyable. I'm just saying.... And oh BTW, the chocolate fudge cake slices are delicious, as are the mocha slices:-) read more

Cannolis are prefilled and at 9pm, case had dozens so you know they aren't fresh and shell will be soggy. This Mike's is in a low traffic part of Assembly Row so not sure they are turning the goods over fast enough. We walked in and walked out. If I'm going to splurge and eat one of these fattening pastries, they need to be fresh and delicious. They aren't inexpensive either. Fairly clean. read more

They make the best Cannoli. Hands down. When I'm in Boston, I have to stop by. No matter how out of the way it may be from where I'm going. Do yourself a favor, and stop in. You won't regret it. read more

Long walk from the shopping centers. Tucked under partners campus out of the way. With every new location opened the quality is comprised. Was in at almost closing and got the look at the clock, look at me, look at the clock, and so on. I think Hanover street location is still my favorite. read more

Just stoped in for dessert after dinner tonite. I felt very rushed I have never been before and wanted to see all the options. The girls followed me just staring while I looked for what I wanted. Then snatched the money when paying. Also staring at the tip cup as soon as we were handed the change. Desserts look great that's why they got 2 stars, customer service on the other hand needs work. read more

Went in into Mike's to pick up some pastries. The gentleman who was behind the counter was to busy texting. He proceeded to finish texting before saying anything to me. Another customer came in 30 seconds after me and he proceded to help him before me. Fine. A couple more people came in. An elderly lady came in and a guy who was working in the back came out to help he was so rude I was ready to walk out. The guy who was helping me answered the phone and didn't change his gloves when he was done. I am just beside myself read more

The most incredible pastries in Boston!! On top of all that, the management team was a pleasure and delivered outstanding customer service. If you're new to Boston and want to try a Boston cannoli, GO here. Such a wide variety of options and awesome ppl. read more

I would say that they are expensive. I only get the Amaretto canolli whenever I go here at this point. Their cookies have a very light taste to them. Not much flavor. read more

I believe this is the newest Mike's Pastry so it's a hidden gem. No long lines like the other ones for now. It's in assembly but kind of secluded from everything else it's a little past the assembly train stop. It was very clean and it had a couple of tables for guests. The staff was friendly and ready to help as well as being knowledgeable about their products. read more

If you think this Mike's Pastry isn't going to be as good as the one in Boston, you're wrong. This location is somewhat hidden in Assembly but it is exactly the same as the original, the only difference is that it's not as packed. There are a few seats so you can definitely sit down. They also only take cash so be prepared!. This spot is a perfect night dessert place to visit with a significant other. read more

It is located in a very convenient place for drive or T. You can have same quality as in downtown location but without the traffic hustle.

I am standing in on line, and waiting to my turn for order, and even though I am the next customer, I am not taken, and they keep serving other ppl! It doesn't worth for me to try its pastry. Will never come back again! I am not even willing to rate this store! read more

If you have visitors from out of town then take them to the North End location for the full experience. If you just want their delicious cannoli then head over to the new location in Somerville where the wait is minimal and the cannoli are just as fresh as in the North End. read more

Good people devoted to quality. There's a Mike's Pastry in Somerville now! As a former north ender it's nice to see this place. I had to go in and get some sweets! The taste like the original Mike's Pastry without long ass lines. But very small and cash only. read more

Bought a cream puff, blueberry scone and one biscotti. They were all good, especially the scone. The biscotti needed dunking, it was almost unbreakable. Won't get those anymore. The cream puff was very good. Will keep trying until I find a favorite. Very pleasant people there. read more

I like this outpost of Mike's Pastry the most....much larger selection than the Harvard Square location while avoiding the crazy lines and tourists at the original North End location. From this store I've gotten the lobster tail and Boston cream pie and both were great. The staff was friendly and there's plenty of seating if you'd rather indulge in something rather than just do takeout. read more

I tried the Pistachio Canolli its alright I'm not really a baked sweet person. If you are you should try but I would bring cash they only accept cash. read more

I think the cannolis are overhyped. I got a chocolate chip one and was not impressed. The shell was not as crunchy as I would have liked. The cream was also pretty bland. One cannoli is also pretty expensive. read more

I was so excited to pick up pastry for my family. Got home and opened the box to find this piece of ricotta pie. Awfully expensive to look like a truck ran over it. Ridiculous. This should have been put in the trash rather than the pastry case. I am underwhelmed by the new location. read more

Mike's Pastry - Ridiculous. - Bakeries Near Me - Somerville, Massachusetts

Mike's Pastry is the best, hands down. Some say just the tourist go there, well I'm a local and I go there because it's the best around. Modern Bakery is terrible. read more

Went there for the promise of the cannoli. Was not disappointed! Amazing selection. Definitely worth a visit. Next time, I'll bring some home! read more

Very small selection and terrible customer service. Would not recommend going there. Drive the extra 10 mins and go into the north end if Mikes is where you want to go. Over rated if you ask me. read more

Fantastic cannoli, long line, not so fantastic. But the atmosphere was authentic enough, despite the many busstling tourists in the bakery and near vecinity. Good eat. read more
