Living @ Newberry Lofts in Downtown Long Beach now for almost 6 months has been a great experience. Relocating from the beautiful island of Oahu to California I was eager to find a home with a community that felt like home. The lofts have been much more than we expected, the attention to detail by the management team has been 5 stars! Living in a downtown area there can be a lot of activity, Aysa and the team do an amazing job of making you feel safe and at home. Always keeping the tenants up to date on any changes or activity on the property. Aysa and the team have made my transition very pleasant, I feel I can come to her with any needs or concerns and they I'll be addressed promptly and with care! Thank you so much, we appreciate all you do! AR read more

Had an appointment scheduled and no one showed up. Had text message confirmation and everything that my appointment was at 9:30 am. Another group also showed up and we were looking around for someone to come and no one showed. All I was told was "sorry for the inconvenience sometimes technology fails." I had drove an hour to get there. Terrible service... read more

My HOA recently transitioned to a new property management company. At first I was very hesitant, as in the past it took time for the new management company to acclimate to the new board, residents, and the CC&R's. The Mike Dunfee Group transitioned us over quickly and efficiently. They set up an website with a one stop shop for HOA dues and questions, or account rep Ayse is beyond amazing! She responds back quickly, she takes into consideration of how things use to be handled, and applies our Rules and Regulations as it was written, and keeps us in the loop of things. Mike Dunfee and his team are professional, and prompt. And most of all, they don't make us feel like we are a number, or that we are bothering them when issues arise. read more

My family is looking to possibly move to Long Beach in the near future. We found the Mike Dunfee Group. Michael Draper was incredibly patient and helpful to us. He answered all our questions about the areas. When we are ready to make the move, we'll definitely go to the Mike Dunfee Group. read more

I've connected and been helped by Ayse Serim from MDG numerous times. Her attention to detail, documenting. Things clearly, following up on things timely, and communicating plans well is awesome. I like more details and communicating when things are done or any snags even encountered as a property owner. She's been phenomenal in maintaining my property. read more

I had a VERY unique home buying experience. Mike Dunfee and his group represented me and were there for me throughout supporting and treating me like family! I will try to keep a long story short. My relationship with the Mike Dunfee group started as a renter. I moved into one of their single family homes in October 2023 after leaving a horrible marriage. The sellers of the home had the intention of selling their home. And sure enough in February 2024 they gave me the opportunity to make an offer before putting it on the market. And after being in MANY stressful bidding wars over the years, trying to solidify a home purchase in such a competitive market, this was a dream come true. And the sellers accepted my offer! I was beyond thrilled. The challenge was that I am going through a divorce and although separate, needed my eventual ex-husband to sign a quit claim to close escrow. He refused multiple times! After TWO escrow extensions, with the support and understanding of Mike Dunfee, his team and especially the sellers, my landlord. They all WAITED patiently for me to go through the court system to prove I was right making my husband sign the quit claim I needed to close escrow. Escrow ended up being 101 day, not sure if I may have set a record. Seriously!! I don't wish this upon anyone. And I hope Mike Dunfee and his group never has to go through this ever again... BUT their unwavering support went above and beyond. This was an extremely stressful process and they went through it with me. Even though they and the sellers, sure didn't have to. I am still in awe of this whole experience and am SO GRATEFUL. Thank you for everything from the bottom of my heart!! I recommend him whether looking to rent, buy or sell. He will have your back! read more

My wife and I achieved our dream as first time home buyers thanks to Mike. We felt confident in having Mike coach us through what felt like such a big decision for us. We felt that he was both tenacious and wise in guiding us through the close on a home we could hardly imagine having as our own. Looking back three years ago on this experience, my wife and I both feel a great deal of gratitude and trust in Mike because of the impressive ethic and wisdom he showed us. Our experience with Mike has been a success and I feel pride in saying that since our first home, Mike has continued to share his wisdom with us regarding of the real estate market in Los Angeles. read more

They manage Victor Court poorly. The Mike Dunfee Group doesn't even manage any of the apartments in this building to my knowledge. Mike Dunfee Group only manages the OUTSIDE area of Victor Court! A task such as this should be easy because it is only one task! Instead, Mike Dunfee Group makes it difficult on the individual owners' ability to rent their apartments for a premium market rate in the downtown area. 1) I called the main office July 17th and they forwarded me to the property manager for Victor Court and gave me her contact info. I called and she ignored my call and proceeded to text me while it was ringing! She asked to text her instead (Very unprofessional!! What if it was my father calling that owns the unit and he only has a land line?! 2) I informed her about there being a couch against the gate of the front entrance to victor court for weeks and why hasn't there been a 3 day cure or quit notice posted or better yet a hauling company called? 3) I communicated that junk in the courtyard makes it difficult and less appealing to possible renters when I tour them to view the apartment. 4) She said to tell them maintenance would eventually handle it 5) She didn't communicate a date of when the hauling company/maintenance would resolve the issue even when I called @11am and mentioned I had a tour the next day@10am this morning and I expected it to be resolved by then 6) If your going to be unprofessional and ask to text AT LEAST SPELL/COMMUNICATE PROFESSIONALLY!!! 7) This review could have been avoided if one phone call was made to a hauling company but this company seems to not be able to do such simple things like communication. ***UPDATE*** 8) July 19th- I knocked on the residents door and asked if I could help him with disposing of his couch. He was happy and grateful for the help! Issue solved by me - Not the Mike Dunfee Group. read more

I wish I could rate this company 5 negative stars. They are absolutely horrible. They don't answer the phone and are snail slow to respond back to tenants. They don't care about their tenants but they sure do care about making improvements to the property that I rent. In less than a year they have managed to majorly inconvenience me and my neighbors with parking due to a roof replacement and now a new foundation! Now, I know that repairs must be done but sending out notices that are not accurate regarding days that repairs will be done is ridiculous. I got an email that work will be done on Monday through Friday. But why are the workers here on a Saturday ! This is nuts! Please avoid doing business with this company, it's hell. read more

Mike Dunfee and his team are tremendous to work with when selling your home. His recommendations to help us get our place ready for sale resulted in multiple offers over list and we sold the place in just 48 hours. With five OVER list offers on the table Mike and his team helped us navigate the pros and cons of each offer to select the one that was best for our situation. The fast close was a testament to how buttoned up he and his team are to make sure the deal gets done without issue. It was truly remarkable at how easy his team made the whole process. If you're looking to buy or sell - especially in the Long Beach area - the Mike Dunfee Group is the place to start. read more

My husband and I live in the Newberry Lofts. I wanted to give kudos to our property manager, Ayse Serim from The Mike Dunfee Group. Ayse has done an amazing job addressing our questions and concerns about the building. She has always displayed professionalism, understanding, empathy, and genuine concern with a passion when we've had to come to her with an issue. Even when the issues do not lie within the realms of her "job title" she is ALWAYS, ALWAYS willing to do research and help in every which way she can to get the issues resolved for us. We truly could not have asked for a better person to be our advocate by ensuring the safety and wellness of our building! THANK YOU SO MUCH, Ayse! I would give Flori, Cristian and the Mike Dunfee group 10 stars if I could! We recently moved from Camden living into the Aqua towers. We rent and we absolutely love it here.... first of all, Flori Parham, our realtor, was, has been and still is super responsive! She responded to all of our email communications in a very timely manner. If it's an emergency, she would even answer your text/ call/email on a weekend at crazy hours! I was shocked couple times when I just texted her to let her know about an issue, and she immediately responded way past the working hours! At Camden living we didn't have such fast responses, quality service and very nice and kind team. The Mike Dunfee group also has a very well managed website where we can do all of our payments, maintenance request and other communication if needed. The way that Mike Dunfee group, particularly Flori and Cristian, handle all of our maintenance requests, or any other concerns we may have, make us feel confident that we are well taken care of! Many thanks to such great team! read more

Our HOA has been pleased with MD Property Management since we brought them on. We've been grateful for the way they handle our account with billing, voting procedures, and legal paperwork. Our building manager, Ayse, is prompt with every inquiry; calls are typically returned within 24 hours. They have been a helpful resource in ways we likely could not have done on our own. Plus, Ayse has been very accommodating during COVID when paperwork had to be signed in person. She found ways to meet up safely and effectively. We appreciate that. read more

I moved into my apartment the beginning of March and couldn't be happier with the Mike Dunfee group. They have attended to any problems that I have had and are always available via phone, email, and text to address any issues I might have. I plan to continue renting from this management company and renewing my lease when it is up read more

Would not rent from this company again or recommend. I rented with MD management for a year and moved out as soon as my lease was over due to the poorly maintained plumbing (water was off once every week), poor maintenance, and the overall decrepit state of the building. I left no damage to the apartment whatsoever yet I was still screwed out of 40% of my security deposit due to a truly excessive $217 repainting fee - which I am sure is not legal, $35 for new lightbulbs (?!?!!), in addition to the much higher than expected cleaning fee. Apartment was spotless when I left it. I noticed people were moving out left and right and I can see why. I'm hoping that I can get my money back. Landlords are not permitted to charge tenants for repainting due to normal wear and tear and I don't know what kinds of light bulbs cost $35. Tenants beware! read more

I really wanted to like this company because of the good reviews I had read, but I personally had a very unprofessional and unreliable experience- specifically with Sondra. I had requested a self-guided tour for one of the properties she manages, which Sondra had been in contact with me about personally, but I was left waiting outside the property for nearly 40 minutes with no code to the lockbox and multiple calls and texts to her left unanswered. I tried to be understanding about this because I understand things happen, but it was a pre-scheduled tour time and Sondra had agreed to it hours beforehand and she just needed to send the code. If she would have communicated if something had come up, I would have understood but the overall unresponsiveness for nearly an hour was unprofessional for something agreed upon earlier. On top of this, I was met with minimal replies and a lack of responsiveness to my questions afterwards. I would not recommend this group to lease from because if this is how they treat people who want to tour a unit, I can only imagine they are this unprofessional and unreliable when a unit has a maintenance request or an issue that needs to be addressed by the people who are supposed to support them. Sondra, I am disappointed. read more

This is the worst company to rent through. They are dishonest, have high turn over and only have the interest of the property owner. We got gauged on our security deposit - spent months without a washer, had to go to a laundry facility in Long Beach, had so much ruined clothes. Was told that landlord assist with the damages. We never saw a penny. They sent the deposit refund without explanation or details. We had a few pictures hung and they sanded and repainted the entire unit, even though when we moved in it was only patchy painted you could see the small areas painted. Shouldn't be a surprise that the tenants don't stay long. read more
