Great deal for the price considering the sea food (some costs extra) and the fruit. The green tea ice cream is good too. I noticed the meat I usually go for (chicken and pork) are juicy when I stop by. The veggies are nice as well - not overly cooked and they still have their vibrant colors. There is something for everybody - even little kids hat are picky eaters as they have some more "traditional American" faves like fries, chicken tenders, etc.. They also have a variety of sushi available which is awesome. The servers don't hover which I appreciate. Only thing I don't like too much is that the plates are pretty small and the lack of free access to napkins. Other than that, it's a good place to stop by every now and then - I know some people come in regularly after church so it can get pretty crowded. read more

We looked at the reviews and most were good... you can't expect everyone to be Stelar... so after there I could tell you this is the place to go.... services as very good and so was the food.... the place was kept clean and that's somewhat of a problem with buffets...Don't miss it this is the real deal.... and the venue was very comfortable and eye pleasing.... I have eaten in many Chinese buffets. If you go in with the expectation that you are going to be eating high quality Chinese food, you are in for a disappointment. That said, this buffet is probably the best in PSL and one of the best I have eaten at around the USA. I have gone to this buffet many times now, and can say they have a very good and decent selection. A sushi bar, as well as a mongolian grille tops it all off. The food is generally fresh, thanks to high amount of business they do. I don't have much more to say about this place, other than if you want to pig out eating buffet style Chinese food in PSL, this is your place. read more

I would have to say the food is alright the staff could keep the place clean and also keep things stocked better. The strawberries were half rotten. The table they sat me and my family at had the moldy ac condensation dripping down on my spouse as he try to eat. So we had to move the table. It would have been nice for the staff to help do so seeing I just had a abdominal historectomy a few days before hand. But no the male staff guy just stood there. Next my daughter had to use the rest room. Well needless to say not much pride in there filthy and even the paper towel dispenser was broke. I'm at a loss of words for this place other then. I absolutely love coming to eat here whenever I'm near the area because not only am I always craving Chinese cuisine, but the food and service at this buffet is beyond fantastic. It's all you can eat for such low prices! A perfect place to take your large family to eat at because they'll still be well-accommodated. The host, servers, cooks, and busboys are so polite, too, and they were understanding enough not to charge my family for one relative who sat at the table yet didn't eat at all during our visit. Anyways, if my parents could write English fluently to leave their own reviews, they would definitely give this buffet 5 stars, too. They love coming here and usually always do when they don't want to make any meals at home or want to get away from the kids. I also took my boyfriend here a few times and I was surprised to find out he loved the food since he's so picky when it comes to good Chinese food (his favorite take-out is Chopsticks near Airso). It's a shame they don't offer take-home boxes because their lo mein is one of a kind! read more

I have been a happy customer for more than six years. I never complained about the food. However, recently, the quality of the food is terrible. Additionally, the service is subpar. MIKATA Buffet is without question the best Chinese buffet I have ever been to! The selection is huge, the food is fresh and it all tastes great! You could eat there all week long and not get tired of this place! Oh Yeah, The prices are amazing! Regular lunch with all the shrimp and mussels is only $8.99 until 3:30 PM then it turns into Dinner at $12.99 with all you can eat fresh oysters added in. However, If you want crap legs the price jumps up to $30.00 which I feel is far too much money! SO I WOULD SCRATCH THE CRAB LEGS TO STILL GET AN AMAZING DEAL! I completely take back the previous review! They almost killed me and my family with violent food poisoning. I called the health dept and they followed back up with me after their inspection with 21 violations including inadequate food temperatures and cross contamination. I used to go there all the time for years and never returned since then. There is a much better, cleaner, classier, and friendlier Asian buffet in Stuart called Sakura and their food is way, way better! Don't play Russian roulette by eating at Mikada! read more

My daughter,son in law and wife all got sick, they will not return my calls.we were there last year and it was great

Never again. We used to enjoy eating here now and then but they are going down. The last 2 visits were the final chance for them. Last night we went with 6 adults and 2 kids and 4 of the adults had bad stomachs after-the kids had only rice and chicken fingers so they escaped. Fried dumplings tasted outright bad. Overpriced if you want crab legs $30? Dirty found a bug in my food. They comped my dinner but by that time it was already ruined and so was my husband's after seeing the bug in my food . this buffet is trash, the sushi and hibachi was good but they charge an extra 13 each to take it to go, the server had a stank attitude for asking her a simple question, also please bring diapers with you when you come here cause im sure these people put laxatives in the soy sauce ans teryaki sauce. I don't understand why the reviews for this buffet are so ow on yelp, on google their pretty good. This place is great. Very clean, with great staff and great food. I have been here many times and never left disappointed. The staff are the nicest iv ever seen of a Chinese restaurant buffet. The selection is out of this world for the price. And what I love the most is you can eat healthy here, salmon, fresh fruit, veggies, really good stuff. Great sushi selection as well. I came into this restaurant looking forward to some simple buffet style Asian food. I got seated right away which was unfortunately the best part of this entire meal. Once I got drinks, never seen the waitress again, I never got a refill the whole time I was there. The sushi is definitely decent for a buffet But overall average at best. The Stuffed oysters had so much potential but we're ruined by the overpowering mustard and mayonnaise. The dumplings were far too dry and overcooked, the chicken wings were freezer burned and undercooked. The raw bar was not fresh and you could see coloring on the muscles, the fruit was definitely passable because they're not cooking it at least. I ended up not eating anything after other multiple dishes I tried and was disappointed, I really don't like leaving reviews like this but save your time and save your money. I'd rather go to Sakura. Not to mention the overcrowding, you can't even push your seat out without bumping into somebody else's and everybody is packed like sardines in a can. read more

They also have a stir fry hibachi which I have yet to try. It is located in a stripmall and has plenty of parking. So for inexpensive unlimited sushi, eat at Mikata. read more

The service is absolutely horrible!! The place feels depressing. There is nothing nice about this location. I recently relocated and pass by this place and notice it's always packed on the weekend. (I DONT SEE WHY) I decided to take my family for my sons birthday. The manager had the worst attitude I have ever seen. Not professional AT ALL. Everything tastes the same the cups smell like they are being washed with dirty water and the sea food is NOT being cooked properly. It seems like Chinese buffets are springing up everywhere with each trying to outdo the others by claiming to have the most items on offer. Every buffet claims to be the "biggest" in the area, but that's really not what's important (in my mind). The Mikata buffet is located in a former TGI Fridays location, which makes the interior decor a step up from most buffets, with its dark oak paneled walls as opposed to the bright, cheap looking, decor in other places. The food, however, is what makes the difference. Although Mikata claims to be the "biggest buffet on the Treasure Coast", it's the quality of the food that's important, not how many different items they offer. In actuality, the menu is somewhat smaller than other buffets in the area, but the quality of the food is much better. In fact, the pork gyoza (potstickers) and baked crab-stuffed mushroom caps on the buffet were better than I've had in any Asian restaurant, anywhere, at any price. The buffet includes a sushi bar, but unlike most buffets with the same tired-looking paper-thin salmon nigiri and non-descript California rolls, the sushi was actually fresh, with a large variety of different maki rolls. I was very surprised to see avocado and rainbow rolls - something I've never seen at a buffet. While obviously not up to the same standard as $10-$15 rolls in a Japanese restaurant, I appreciated the variety and the attention to detail, such as a dab of inari on the outside of the rolls. The cold seafood area contained artificial crab sticks, bay scallops (something else I've never seen at a buffet), mussels and larger than average sized peel and eat shrimp that didn't have the iodine taste found at other buffets. Included in the price of the buffet is a hibachi station, but they need to put up some signs describing how it works and how to order. It's just a hibachi table and chef. Unlike a mongolian barbecue, there's no assortment of ingredients that you gather up and give to the chef, so it's not obvious how this works, and we found it confusing. Everything on the salad and dessert station looked and tasted very fresh, and there's a number of self-scoop ice cream flavors available as well. We visited for a weekday lunch ($6.99), and felt it was well worth the price. We'll definitely be back. UPDATE: February 2011 - We've been back several times. The Hibachi area at the rear of the restaurant is no longer confusing. There IS an assortment of ingredients that you put in a bowl and hand to the chef, and then select a sauce. I think maybe the Hibachi wasn't fully up and running the first time we were there. read more

I am not a usual buffet goer due to not usually getting my money's worth. But the price is right. Husband thoroughly enjoyed the baby clams. WOW! Terrific Chinese buffet on US 1 across from Treasure Coast mall. My husband and I moved here last summer and this is the best Chinese place we have come across. It has everything. The only thing I wish they would build on is the salad bar. Even if someone in your party isn't interested in Chinese food, this place is still good. I had lunch there today and it was my first visit. I saw a lot of bad reviews, but a friend recommended it, so I gave it a try. I have to say, it was better than I expected! I always go for the seafood and sushi first, and I was not disappointed. They even had plantains( yum!) and sauteed bok choy ( don't see that often-- was delicious). They have everything under the sun, and all my selections tasted good. I had my fingers crossed for green tea ice cream-- they had it! So glad I went. Ate here for dinner a few weeks ago. Everything was fresh and delicious! The extra $5 charge for having crab legs is SO worth it. The crabs were HUGE! You know how usually, on a chinese buffet with crabs, the crabs are tiny and they're always gone? Not so with this place, they are well-stocked and out of this world:) Everything I tasted was wonderful. The only downside to this restaurant was not the restaurant's fault. It's the PARENTS of the children that were running wild and taking so long to scoop themselves some ice cream that there was a mile long line. I ended up skipping dessert, as I can only have sugar free ice cream, and that's where the kid was hogging the scoop. Decent for lunch bcz it's only $6.99. Traditional Chinese buffet fare, 4 soups, sushi and Mongolian Grill. Dessert has 8 different ice creams and some other choices like fruit, some stale baked items and pudding and jello. Wouldn't go to dinner there since the price is hiked up without any more choices. Ate at Mikata Buffet tonight for the first time, and my husband and I had a great time. Mind you, the food isn't and doesn't claim to be gourmet but it is varied, fresh and hot. The sushi bar is surprisingly well-stocked with beautifully made and delicious offerings, and there's a tepanyaki grill available. There's a salad bar, tons of fresh fruit, and a nice selection of deserts. I looked at the seafood - crab, shrimp, crab meat and maybe some others - and it all looked well cared for and fresh. And oh, the wait staff is efficient and fast! All in all, we ate way too much and will definitely go back again. And for $11 per dinner, this can't be beat for a weekday casual meal. read more
