After a visit to the nearby Elliot museum we came over here for an early dinner. Reviews were a mixed bag but that is kind of par for the course with this type of dining establishment. Some people love an inexpensive all you can eat buffet while for other people it is a hard pass. Located in the Marketplace Square shopping plaza, the parking lot was already full by the time we arrived. This place is huge so we had no problem getting a table. The restaurant looks older with tile floors and a lot of dark wood but it was clean except for the restroom which was a disaster. Seating is in rooms off to the side from the main buffet room. As soon as we arrived our server promptly took our drink order and they were very good about coming by often to clean the table take dirty dishes away. In the buffet room there is a large cold bar with seafood, salads, and desserts. They also offer hibachi and sushi. In the center of the room was four hot stations with the type of dishes you normally find in this kind of restaurant, sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, Crab Rangoon, noodles, fried rice, ribs both pork and beef, fish, green beans, dumplings, sea food boil, salt and pepper shrimp, coconut shrimp, roasted potatoes, etc. I really enjoyed the peel and shrimp which were jumbo sized. The fresh fruit was also a great ending to the meal. They also had a coffee mousse cake and cheesecake that were nice along with ice cream and a few other pastries. I appreciate that the buffet was refilled promptly and the food was fresh. It was $16.99 for a dinner buffet which I think it is a great value if just for the seafood alone. Of course we left overstuffed. I would consider eating here again if I am in the area.

Good variety of food, lots of shrimp, mussels and crawfish; for $13.99 you can have a nice lunch and finish it with delicious fresh fruits, jello, puddings, pastries and ice creams. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, so that's a plus for them too. I would come back in the future!

Their large cold shrimp with spicy cocktail sauce is the best!

The food here is very good. There's a large selection and everything I tried was great. I'll be returning.

The food was superb, check out the seafood bar featuring Jumbo shrimp (see pics). Selections are plentiful, come hungry. Service was fast, and attentive, don't forget to tip for great service. The ambiance is upscale buffet, yet a little loud.

It's okay but I caught the sushi chef coughing/sneezing around the food. No sushi for me that day!

The only thing good about Mikata Buffet is I didn't get sick. Maybe I just don't care for buffets.

They have a large selection, and the lunch is real cheap. Other than that it is your basic Chinese Buffett.

If you've been searching--and I mean searching--for truly good Chinese food in the area, your search is finally over. Everything at Hot Wok is tasty, fresh, and cooked right. The flavors are spot-on, the ingredients are high quality, and nothing tastes old, greasy, or rushed. This is the kind of Chinese food you look forward to eating, not just settle for. Coming from New York City 24 years ago, finding authentic, satisfying Chinese food in this area has been extremely difficult--until now. Hot Wok finally delivers the flavor, consistency, and freshness that NYC spoiled me with. If you miss real Chinese food the way it used to be, Hot Wok is the place. Absolutely deserving of five stars, and now my go-to spot. Highly recommended!

Living in Florida often means adjusting expectations--until you discover Hot Wok. Hot Wok is the rare exception. From the moment you walk in, the food tastes, smells, and feels like Mott Street in Manhattan. The vegetables are fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavor. The seasoning is unmistakably New York-style: bold, perfectly balanced, never overpowering, and never overly salty--just right. The hot and sour soup is outstanding, rich and comforting, and the Singapore Mei Fun rivals the quality you'd expect from legendary spots like Woo Hop. Every dish shows care, skill, and authenticity. The restaurant itself is clean and inviting, and the owners are warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. They're from NYC--and it shows. They know exactly what they're doing. Customer service was great! The workers were so nice and friendly. The restaurant inside was also clean (but also completely empty). Tom Yum Chicken Soup: lackluster in flavor with raw vegetables. Tom yum soup is one of my favorite asian soups because of the rich bold tangy flavors mixed with plenty vegetables. This soup however was very far from that. Fried Rice with Chicken: very bland and nothing too exceptional. With additional salt and pepper sauce the rice wasn't too bad. The tomatoes also did not seem fresh. Chicken Lo Mein: in my husband's words, "lacking". Again with some additional seasoning it wasn't terrible.
