Setup an inspection date and met Chris Dollmann(Certified Master Inspector). Chris is personable, extremely knowledgeable and fully explained every issue which needed immediate attention, or anything that should be corrected, but not critical. Have purchased three homes during my lifetime(this being my last) and can say Chris is by far the most comprehensive inspector I have dealt with. All items documented and sent via PDF (with pictures). Due to Chris's thoroughness, estimates totaled $8,000 (mainly roof and electrical) of which I forwarded a copy to the seller resulting in $4000 being paid via seller at closing. Highly recommend 'Direct Inspections' and very appreciative of Chris's expertise.

I was told my appointment was his first stop on the scheduled day but he never showed up. I called after he was more than an hour late. The woman that answered the phone said she'd call the electrician and get back to me. Twenty minutes later she called and said "he dropped the ball". Yes, he certainly did. It sure makes you wonder about the legitimacy of all of the 5-star reviews he has (mostly from Yelpers with only a few reviews).

They never seemed rushed. We hired them to remove our 50 year old board and batten siding, soffits and facia board. They installed new wall insulation, plywood, house wrap and James Hardie lap siding, soffits and facia board. They had excellent communication during the bidding process were patient with me throughout all of my questions about the expectations for the product and work as well as during the installation process. When contacted the team, I received a response in less than 24 hours and sometimes I received the response in person. They even fixed a problem with the roof that had never been resolved by a roofing company to ensure I didn't continue to have issues with water run off ruining my soffits. Every day they left the job site cleaner than it was when they started the job. My family and I always felt comfortable with everyone that was on site and they ensured there was as little disruption to our daily lives as possible. When there were delays in getting the windows, that I ordered separately, they were understanding and prompt in getting back out to my house to get the last piece of the job completed. We used Metro Property Inspection before purchasing our house and have now found 3 glaring plumbing…read moreissues. These were not documented in the report and never mentioned during the inspection. These issues are so bad that we've had multiple plumbers come out this week and each one is shocked that an inspector didn't catch them. In 3 separate locations we have a small drain pipe from a sink sitting loosely in a larger pipe with no connector or seal. We've had sewer gas coming into the house since the pipes are not properly sealed and water damage that runs down to the basement. After discovering these issues, I consulted their reviews page and found many negative reviews describing major issues missed during inspections. I decided to give Metro a chance to resolve the issue since they commented on some reviews offering to do just that. After describing the issues in detail to the receptionist, I received a callback from the owner who told me he knew nothing about the situation but was calling to answer my " questions about the inspection ". He then proceeded to argue with me the entire call. His main point was that I should have known that when the inspector mentioned replacing one very specific part of the plumbing, that actually meant the entire system. Further, he talked down to me from the beginning but his tone seemed to change once he heard my boyfriend in the background. I can only assume he felt a woman would be easier to belittle. Attached are photos of the plumbing issues that the inspector missed. Do not use this company, you will pay for not only the mediocre inspection but also the issues they miss.

The company who'd replaced our roof didn't replace the flat part. They said it didn't need to be replaced. It was a rainy day when they collected the check. As soon as they were gone, our family room ceiling opened up and gallons of water poured in. The roofing company agreed to replace the flat roof but they did a sloppy job. I had someone on my roof who was screening off areas where critters could access our attic and they told me that flat roof needed to be replaced, sooner than later. I contacted several companies recommended by people on the Nextdoor app. One company came out to give me a quote but never returned my calls. Another company told me they were only doing roof replacements. I appreciated their honesty. I was very specific when I called roofing companies; I didn't need a new roof. One guy came out and told me he could contact my insurance company and tell them my roof had been damaged from a storm. We'd not had any damage to our roof from storms and that's bordering on insurance fraud. I decided to check out Yelp recommendations and saw that Easton had a lot of good reviews. When I called, they were very nice and told me they'd send someone out. The guys from Easton were there on time and they gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable so I called to schedule the repair. The workers were very nice, professional, timely and they were there everyday until it was finished. They cleaned up after the repair so I wasn't finding random pieces of roofing material. Everyone, from the woman who answered the phone to the guys who did the repair was very nice and the whole process was seamless. Easton completed the repair and after years of checking ceilings, I can finally relax. Another contractor I'd used to remodel our house often needed access to the roof. I didn't ask him to check the flat roof but while he was up there, he wanted to check it out. He assured me they'd done a very good job and then asked for their info so he'd have the name of a good roofing company if one of his clients was looking to replace their roof. When an outstanding contractor is impressed with the work done by another company and asking for the company's info, that says a lot. If we have to replace our roof, we'll definitely use Easton and if anyone needs a roof replacement or repair, I highly recommend them. They've earned those 5 star reviews.
