This is not a customer centered company. I went to call Midwest Eye Consultants to see why my order of eyeglass frames is taking so long. I paid for these frames out of pocket in full and it is taking over two weeks to get them since 12/9/2025. This order is from last year and they are not custom made or have any glasses going into them so what seems to be the hold up? I called the wrong number and it was to Midwest Eye Consultants Surgery Center and understanbly I was told that this was indeed the wrong office number. See it wasnt the confusion I was a little upset about it was the way this staff person went about it like i was inconvenienceing her. I went to ask her if she could help me get the office number or transfer me to the office of the Eyeglassware and Optometrist of Midwest Eye Consultants Coliseum location. It wasn't a big deal until this receptionist took it to that level of disrespect, like I said she was acting like I was an inconvenience to her. I know that I can look the number up myself but that wasn't the point. It was how she handled it even to the point of me asking for a supervisor. She told me that their was no one I could speak with and that she was the only one in the office. Kudos(not really)to her for taking on an entire shift of all the staff, supervisors, charge nurses, doctors, cheif executives and directors of operations.I know it was an elaborate lie just to get me off the phone as fast as she could possibly do. I just want my frames I purchased in full. I have waited 22 days and counting its Friday January 2nd and still I have not had one single phone call or acknowledgement of my existence and or complaints I have made about this issue. Its been nearly a month to get just the frames. It seems very retaliatory as if me making complaints and using my freedom of speech to speak out against these types of companies who over charge you for just the glasses which not to mention frames too which could come out to be close to $400.00 USD for just the lenses. It is robbery on a colossal scale. Where its hard enough to have insurance and not be able to get what you want to pick out so I worked hard for my money and thought hey I saved up enough to get a pair of glasses and frames out of pocket. I didn't expect a delay since I paid in full for just the frames. Where if you had the custome glasses made would understanbly take longer to get when they have to shave glass to fit your prescription. I didn't have any custome made glasses where the processcould take up to 7 to 14 days. It seems to me after I got the quote for about $400.00 for the glasses and I know where I can get the Transition Lens with Scratch Resistance and Antiglare for a much lower price than what was being quoted for by Midwest Eye consultants. I do think they are hoping that I would go with them to buy the lenses but thats not what I want and nor do I like being extorted or pressured into buying glasses from them only. It feels like it is retaliatory that because I don't want to buy lens from them that they have a right to hold back my order for the frames I paid for in full kr have other excuses for the delay. I hope someone from this company acknowledges amd sees this and reaches back out to me. I am very disappointed and hurt by this experience alone. I hope Noone shops here or buys any frames or prescriptions as you would see they already have a very low Google review and its very unfriendly and don't see them as a trustworthy company. Look into all of or some customer complaints and you will be surprised to see that their are more negitve reviews versus positive review for which they have very little or are made up to make them look good in the eyes of this community of the greater Fort Wayne, Indiana area. I don't mind coming to my appointments. I know when I do have to give myself plenty of time to sit and wait and wait and wait as they are usually 20' behind schedule. It doesn't matter when I have an appointment either. Always running behind. But I really like my eye Dr and the staff is always super friendly. When I need to change my apt they do answer and assist me. I like the building too it's clean and they are constantly sanitizing. The parking lot is easy to maneuver in and out of and the location is very central to where I live. Now when your glasses are sent in to make and they come back to the office trying to get ahold of them to make an apt to pick up your glasses is near impossible. After three days of calling to pick them up I finally just went in and demanded to be seen immediately and explained my situation. they had some excuse which i wasn't interested in hearing. I suggest going in as a walk in to pick up your glasses. They do accept walk ins for eye exams but I highly suggest making an appt. I've seen people wait for over an hour to be seen they are very busy with clients. They have several locations in Fort Wayne. This one is the largest office which is prob why they are so busy. Unfortunately this business is understaffed. They made it hard to take my money. There were plenty of people waiting to be served. I had to go in twice. Once to schedule an appointment and then a second time to be helped. The second time, my appointment time was at a different time than I requested so I had to leave and wait for a third appointment. Avoid this business at all costs. I paid for contacts and called twice in 3 weeks to find out when they would be in stock. After the second call I was called back and told they had been in for some time. No one called to inform me. When I did go to pick them up, the store was locked even though it was during the business hours posted on the door and the web site. Someone was inside and came to the door but would not provide me with the contacts that I had paid for three weeks earlier. This is not the first time that my family has been provided horrible service by this company. Tiffani was wonderful!!! She checked out my eyes and did my eye dilation before the eye doctor came in. I was really nervous about getting my eyes dilated for the first time but she explained the whole process in detail and assured me it would only sting for a few seconds! I felt so much better after she took the time to explain it to me. She was very knowledgeable, you can tell she knows what she's doing! Dr. Frank was just as great! I have no complaints here. This place is absolutely terrible with customer service. If you would like a receptionist named Brad to treat you like a child and try to charge you even though your insurance covers all and says they will, go here. If you would like to be forgotten twice in a row about placing your contacts order, go here. If you would like to be blaintly ignored for five minutes while being stared at by two associates, be my guest and come visit this place. The consultant at the Coliseum Blvd location today was the rudest person I have dealt with in a while, he made us feel like we were inconveniencing him by looking for frames, very unhelpful!! I will never go back to that location again, unlike the Reed location. We were treated great there!! My appointment went great. Everyone was friendly and I was taken care of in a timely manner. When I ordered my glasses I was told they would be in in about a week. A week went by and nothing. I called 3 days later to get an update and went to voicemail. I left a message and never got a call back. Tried for two more days and no call back and no one picks up the phone. I picked the option to schedule an appointment and they picked up on the first ring. I was told my glasses were on a truck being delivered that day and as soon as they had it, I would get a call. Two more days go by and no call. Left another message and still no call back. Once I receive my glasses I paid for in advance, I will never return to this place. read more

If I could give this location no stars I would. I had an appointment the end of June and already had the frames picked out. They said they would save the frames for my appointment. After the appointment I reminded them the frames were picked out and were held. She let me know there were no frames. My eyes were dilated as I had to try on several frames hoping I'd find the ones I originally picked out. Was told my glasses would be ready in 7-10 business days and would receive a call when they were ready. It's been 2 weeks and I have not received a call. I called them this morning and they said my glasses were ready 2 days after my appointment. I asked why I was not given a call. She said someone was supposed to call you. I am beyond disappointed with the customer service, well lack thereof. Will NOT be returning. read more

I specifically made an appointment for a contact lenses examination. However, I NEVER received requested/scheduled exam. Instead, Dr. Swank performed all of these "medical tests". I asked when she was going to do the actual contact lenses exam, and she responded to me something to the effect of they needed to make sure my eye health was good before performing the contact lenses/spectacles exam. Huh? You just said that everything looked good; so what was I missing? I guess I looked stupid or that I didn't have the money to pay out of pocket for the actual contact lenses exam. I mean, after all, that's what I made the appointment for, however, all they kept mentioning was my "insurance". I could've just paid for what I went in there for; they didn't need to bill my "insurance", but looking back, I suppose it was more lucrative for them. I'd asked for a copy of my spectacles' prescription prior to leaving, but the computer was "slow". But the clerk made sure to say they'd be sending the charges to my "insurance" that same day. I went over to America's Best and was seen immediately, AND they wrote out my spectacles' prescription as well without me even having to ask....$79 and I had everything that I needed. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I picked out a pair of frames prior to my exam and when I went to order those frames I was told they are insurance only. I asked why they weren't marked as such. So I had to scramble to pick out another pair of frames. There wasn't any discussion of prices, fees or options when they wrote up the order. My total was $794. $138 for frames, $110 for the exam. The lens costs were as follows: $325 for basic lenses, $65 for poly carbonate, $95 for AR / Hydrophobic, Grooved Rimless was another $22 and Roll & Polish was another $30. Grand total for the lenses alone was $537. I had to request the results of my exam and no one mentioned any warranties on the frames or lenses. My impression was that they run this place in a manner laid out to rip off insurance companies and if you don't have insurance they'll rip you off to. I'll never go back. So sad that medical businesses feel free to rip off everyone in sight. Pun intended... read more
