Its been less than a month and I decided I want to get contacts as well, they told me I would need ANOTHER exam. Well thats another $55 to the Dr cause you can only pay him in cash or check not my HSA card which I find odd. So I will be going someplace else that will accept my HSA card

In that time, I've gotten glasses from small independent boutiques, big discount retailers, warehouse stores and the big chains in the mall. But my recent experience with Meijer and Janet, the optician, tops them all. Meijer had a nice selection of frames and Janet was just great at helping me find the best pair for me. I have a challenging prescription and, with Janet's help and Meijer's terrific prices, was able to get a nice pair of glasses, with 1.74 high index progressive Zeiss lenses, for about half of what I paid last year from a local optical chain here in Fort Wayne. I was self- employed for years and now since being retired money is tight and insurance that includes vision coverage is prohibitive. When I moved to the Fort I visited a small private practitioner to get a new pair. The exam for a new patient was $250.00 so I switched back to LensCrafters this time as they advertised an exam for $99.00.......good deal! My experience with the doctor serving LensCrafters was excellent and my glasses were ready in four days. So far so good! My three stars review is due to sales and delivery. After I picked out my frames and was ready to pay my bill the salesman asked if I wanted a year warranty on my glasses for only $44.00. I declined thinking it was too money to pay since I had ordered the scratch free option. He told me they didn't cover scratches etc. unless I bought the warranty. Suddenly he decided that he could take $50.00 off the price of the glasses if I bought the warranty! So I now have a warranty. It appears that the cost of their glasses are so inflated that they have a lot of money to play with. It would have been nice if they just charged me $50.00 less in the beginning!! I got a call that my glasses were ready for pick up. I arrived at the store at about 6:00pm on a Friday night! The store was busy but only two staff members were on duty. I waited for 45 minutes and lots of people were milling around the store and were waiting for help. When they got to me the manager could not find my glasses.....what the hell! It tuned out that they had reversed my name on the computer making it almost impossible to find my order. I finally got the glasses and after an hour I was out of there!......the glasses fit well and seem really good......let's get organized folks!!!!!....but I got a nice warranty!!!!!

However, there is no communication at this branch. I scheduled my appointment over the phone by calling the location, she originally scheduled me at the last location I was going to without asking. Next, she scheduled me with an optometrist who is only in Ft Wayne 2 days a week and didn't tell me. I know with my prescription, it usually takes multiple appointments to get my glasses/contacts right so this became an issue when I had to return but thankfully the 2nd optometrist agreed to see me and help. NeXT, I asked for prices for prescription sunglasses with my insurance, the front desk said they would have optics call me with prices....7 days later and I never heard from them. I called and left a voicemail, 8 hours late and still nothing so I had to call a 2nd time. When they finally returned that call we discussed prices and I asked if front desk told them I asked for a call regarding pricing and optics said they were not told. Fast forward to my 3rd visit in a few weeks, and front desk is super rude with me. I was told by the optometrist last visit both contacts would be remade due to different issues. I get there and they told me to put my new one in and the doctor would be with me. I tried to tell her I was told I was supposed to get both new and she didn't even know which one was the new one but I was supposed to put it in. Absolutely terrible customer service and even worse communication. Save your time and money and go somewhere else, I know I will be for my future needs

I am a medical professional. I rate Blume with 1 star. His office is more concerned with the…read more"money" aspect than its patients. His medical equipment is antiquated and there is an uneasy feeling that Blume is not up to date with current medical changes. Even though my medical insurance pays 100% of all office visits (even had my insurance company call the office to explain), I was demanded by their office to pay $30.00 (which I refused to do for practical reasons) and then wait weeks for reimbursement, which I felt was not necessary and a waste of time as my insurance pays 100% and the office was informed of same. The office representative "saluted" to me when I told them I was no longer going to come to their office ever again. In other words, they cared more about "their money" than the compassionate, kind, willingness to work with a patient. These are medical expectations that we as patients should always receive. Would never recommend the office!

Dr. Morrow numbed my mother's eye, checked to see what the damage was, explained that it was scratched. Then he explained that he was going to use a bandage contact so that she would still be able to use her eye while the bandage contact would protect from further injury to her eye during blinking. He gave my mother his home phone, cell phone, and pager number just in case she had any other trouble. As if that wasn't going beyond what average doctors do... he even followed up with a personal phone call to check to see how her eye was coming along. My mother (who is on the phone with me) explains that she is almost 60 years old and has never experienced someone who has had as much caring and compassion for his patients. His passion shines brightly.
