The broken nose piece done by an associate apply way too much pressure to insert oversized lenses.

On 9/25/24 around 5:20PM I arrived at Eyemart on Coliseum Blvd to pick up my warranty replacement lenses for my Oakley frames that I ordered from Oakley direct. I contracted Eyemart express to replace the lenses due to scratching that had happened to them, which was my own fault. Upon arriving I was greeted by an associate with a "Ma" name, I do not remember her full name. She took me to the back side of the front counter and I handed her my frames. She effortlessly popped out my old lenses, and attempted to put in the new lenses purchased through Eyemart. She then noticed and told me "they made the lenses a little too big, I can't get them in, I'm going to go in the back to trim them, and get them to fit". After about 15 minutes of waiting she came back out to tell me she got them in, but broke my frames doing so. After looking, she broke off the left nose piece. After some bantering she told me she could give me a $100 credit to new frames, of which is about 1/3rd the cost of the frames she broke. She told me I signed a waiver (a year ago) that waived any wrong doing if they were to break my frames. She never said sorry, never sympathized, and all the other associates smirked when she said I signed a waiver. This speaks volumes to the lack of technical ability and quite frankly competency of the entire staff there that night. I was very boisterous in my distaste of the situation, and I could see other guest extremely surprised on how she was handling the situation. Zero ownership in her mistake, and zero empathy. All this to say, I highly doubt the GM or DM to stand behind me, and this will likely go unnoticed, or responded to. It's clear that the management there is not doing their part and letting their employees act with negligence. 50 years ago a upset customer might tell 6 people about their experience. Now that customer can tell thousands.

In a panic! Lost my glasses. Eye mart Express was the only place that could make a new pair in an hour. There was additional time for selecting the style and fitting. They had abroad range of styles with prices starting at $39.95 for frames. Lens are in addition. There can do eye exams and take insurances.

Apparently I never finished writing this review when I started it back in late October. My wife…read moreneeded her glasses repaired, and all the optical stores around us weren't equipped for that particular repair. Given the choice of spending hundreds of dollars for new frames and corresponding lenses, or making a 5 hour drive to Marschand's, we decided to make a long weekend out of it and made the drive to Ft. Wayne. It was the right decision. Marschand's got us in and out in about half an hour, for a total of $50, with friendly service while we waited in comfort. Definitely recommend.

Both pairs were in good condition aside from the missing screws. A Marschand's employee said they could fix them both with no problem for $10 each. About 20 minutes later they brought my glasses back to the front desk. Immediately after putting one pair on, I noticed visible damage to the lenses. Both eye glasses were damaged; they each had spiderweb cracks and peeling from the tint on the lens. I returned to the counter and spoke with staff, including Cassandra, the owner. She denied damaging my lenses. She said, they only replaced the screws and then put the glasses in a "water bath" for cleaning. Her comments were the lens were defective, or perhaps damaged by the oils on my face or fingers. This explanation does not align with the condition of the glasses prior to service. Cassandra refused any responsibility. The only restitution she proposed: Cassandra offered - they could replace the lens in one pair of eyeglasses, if I had a recent prescription, for $70, but that would be with clear lens only - no tint. Her other offer was to put my glasses back into the "water bath" and see if it would take the rest of the "tint" off the lens. This experience reflects a lack of accountability and professionalism. I would STRONGLY NOT recommend having eye glasses repaired at Marschand's!

I was self- employed for years and now since being retired money is tight and insurance that includes vision coverage is prohibitive. When I moved to the Fort I visited a small private practitioner to get a new pair. The exam for a new patient was $250.00 so I switched back to LensCrafters this time as they advertised an exam for $99.00.......good deal! My experience with the doctor serving LensCrafters was excellent and my glasses were ready in four days. So far so good! My three stars review is due to sales and delivery. After I picked out my frames and was ready to pay my bill the salesman asked if I wanted a year warranty on my glasses for only $44.00. I declined thinking it was too money to pay since I had ordered the scratch free option. He told me they didn't cover scratches etc. unless I bought the warranty. Suddenly he decided that he could take $50.00 off the price of the glasses if I bought the warranty! So I now have a warranty. It appears that the cost of their glasses are so inflated that they have a lot of money to play with. It would have been nice if they just charged me $50.00 less in the beginning!! I got a call that my glasses were ready for pick up. I arrived at the store at about 6:00pm on a Friday night! The store was busy but only two staff members were on duty. I waited for 45 minutes and lots of people were milling around the store and were waiting for help. When they got to me the manager could not find my glasses.....what the hell! It tuned out that they had reversed my name on the computer making it almost impossible to find my order. I finally got the glasses and after an hour I was out of there!......the glasses fit well and seem really good......let's get organized folks!!!!!....but I got a nice warranty!!!!!

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I could not use my HSA card for my exam, could only use it for the lenses an frames. Its been less than a month and I decided I want to get contacts as well, they told me I would need ANOTHER exam. Well thats another $55 to the Dr cause you can only pay him in cash or check not my HSA card which I find odd. So I will be going someplace else that will accept my HSA card

I've worn glasses for about 40 years and been getting a new pair every year or two since my very first pair. In that time, I've gotten glasses from small independent boutiques, big discount retailers, warehouse stores and the big chains in the mall. But my recent experience with Meijer and Janet, the optician, tops them all. Meijer had a nice selection of frames and Janet was just great at helping me find the best pair for me. I have a challenging prescription and, with Janet's help and Meijer's terrific prices, was able to get a nice pair of glasses, with 1.74 high index progressive Zeiss lenses, for about half of what I paid last year from a local optical chain here in Fort Wayne. If you need glasses, go see Janet at the optical department in the Meijer Store on Lima Road.
