Both girls acted as if I wasn't there. After coughing and clearing my throat, one girl, annoyed, asked if she could help me. Told her I had an appt. She said I didn't without looking. I showed her where I had made the appointment. Still wasn't going to honor it. There were no other customers there. I asked for the manager. She WAS the manager. I told her she needed to take classes on how to treat customers. The optometrist came out, and told me to leave! I then drive to Eyeglass World, where I was treated by friendly, respectful people. I had a new prescription and glasses that same day. These are just horrible, HORRIBLE people. Never go there!

I have really mixed feelings about this place and my experience here, since some parts were…read morewonderful and some aspects left me frustrated. Let's start with the good. The tech was very friendly. She explained all the tests before she conducted each one. I did think it was odd she had me take a colorblind test, since I'm adult, currently wear glasses, and have obviously been to an optometrist before. Although, perhaps it's a new patient policy since this was the first time I have been to their office. I knew I wasn't colorblind, and no surprise, the test indicated the same thing. Dr. DeWit is very nice. She seems knowledgeable and efficient. My frustrations started with trying to find glasses. The frames available for purchase span a couple walls of the office. I was looking for something trendy and there was a lot of mediocre. Perhaps if you don't care a whole lot about what your glasses look like, you'll be fine getting frames here. I will note, the last place I got glasses was super trendy in San Diego, California, so I recognize my standards might be high. I did find a couple pairs that were good enough. Nothing that sparked joy, but would work. My glasses arrived a week a part, however I wasn't able to pick up my glasses until after the second pair arrived. I ended up in a frustrating game of phone tag trying to schedule a time to come in and get fitted and pick up my glasses. I left two messages and called three times when my calls weren't answered. I finally was able to schedule a time to come in and was told that they would make it work and fit me in. That was not the case. I arrived at my scheduled time. Waited 25 minutes to spend 4 minutes getting my glasses fitted. So, my advice would be to get your eyes checked here, but take your prescription and get glasses elsewhere. I really could have used at least one pair of my glasses last week. The phone tag coupled with the long wait was pretty unacceptable.

I want to give a nice shout out to Meijer Optical on Lima Road in Fort Wayne, especially the…read moreoptician there, Janet. I've worn glasses for about 40 years and been getting a new pair every year or two since my very first pair. In that time, I've gotten glasses from small independent boutiques, big discount retailers, warehouse stores and the big chains in the mall. But my recent experience with Meijer and Janet, the optician, tops them all. Meijer had a nice selection of frames and Janet was just great at helping me find the best pair for me. I have a challenging prescription and, with Janet's help and Meijer's terrific prices, was able to get a nice pair of glasses, with 1.74 high index progressive Zeiss lenses, for about half of what I paid last year from a local optical chain here in Fort Wayne. If you need glasses, go see Janet at the optical department in the Meijer Store on Lima Road.

They were very professional and kind as they confirmed my eye infection. This was an abnormal office visit as it was just Dr. Kim and our family. Dr. Kim was great about setting up the next all important appointment on our schedule. Our follow up with Dr. Kim was just as encouraging. He was very kind and helpful and encouraging. I wanted to get a nice gift for myself, but could not think of what. While walking thru Glenbrook Square Mall, I saw Sunglass Hut. I realized I should buy some sunglasses as I was planning a huge trip to a sunny location in 2023. I started going thru the store and trying on glasses. I got helped by a very helpful and kind employee by the name of Kerati. She recommended the two pairs of glasses I took pictures with. Now, for the longest time I wore glasses. It wasn't until relatively recently I got lasik surgery and was able to see without them. Though I had bought nice sunglasses before, I never had been able to buy aviators because of the thickness of my prescription. I had always wanted to wear some, so this was finally my opportunity! I got those aviators! I think I look really cool in them! Kerati rung up the pair, i paid it with those gift cards and on I went. Fantastic experience!
