Ordered the macchiato with almond milk. Comes in traditional size and they had it in a paper coffee cup. I would have liked it served in a coffee mug, since I drank it in the cafe with my breakfast. I had the chicken, Swiss, and avocado skillet. Came with 2 eggs, which I asked to be cooked over easy, and hash browns. Very delicious and avocado were fresh. Also, asked for hot sauce and they only offer Louisiana hot sauce. I was only able to eat half the skillet and took the rest home. My friend has celiac disease, so they made sure her order was GF.

We arrived around 10:15am on a Saturday and the vibe was immediately welcoming. The place is super cute, featuring a coffee bar where you can sit at the counter, a few cozy couches, and even a little craft display with items for sale. Because we got there just before the rush, we were able to sit anywhere we liked. They have an extensive drink menu, and I ordered a chai latte in a mug. It was absolutely huge, smelled incredible, and tasted great. When it came time to order, I informed our server about my gluten allergy. She was incredibly accommodating and reassured me that she would alert the kitchen to keep everything separate to avoid cross-contamination. I ordered a cheddar cheese omelette with hash browns, and the food came out incredibly fast. There was a minor hiccup where my omelette accidentally came out with ham in it, but it was large enough and easy enough to just pick out, so it didn't ruin the meal. The food was overall really delicious and the service was excellent. By the time we left, the place was completely packed, which clearly speaks to how popular it is. It was a really good experience with great GF awareness, and we will definitely be back!

It didn't look like much but in my travel experience these are usually the best places to eat in town. Asked someone that came out what she thought and she loved the place. Went in and had such a great dinner and dessert. I had beef ravioli with salad. My mom had their hit turkey sandwich. For dessert we split a Lemon Meringue and Cherry pies. Home made and so darn tasty. The inside was clean and family friendly. The waitress was so pleasant and kind. The locals were so friendly, sociable, and pleasant. Glad we stopped and took the chance. This is a place my grandmother loved going too. This is a place that would take care of what ever you needed while brining out great food. Service is always great and they make you feel like home. Consistency is the key for cafe. Their food is exactly that. My favorite dish is their home made chicken fingers and fries. Also they have the BEST ranch. This is a dish that I use to get as a kid and I still get as an adult. Also breakfast is something else that I have enjoyed for years. For me I love 2 eggs,2 sausage and 2 pancakes. A breakfast for champions. My grandparents are biscuits and gravy, BLT club triple decker and mediterranean chicken.

Food came out at 10:10- 40 minutes is way too long. We left at 10:41. Other local breakfast spots, we are usually in and out with 40 minutes on the outside. First, take names. We came in and the greeter said I will remember, but she was also busing tables so when a table opened up another employee had to ask who was next. Seems like employees have multiple jobs but they do not have a rhythm and more importantly they are not working effectively. There also seems to be no sign of management or the owner. As a new business, be present, check in, greet your customers and if you need to be someplace else designate someone on your behalf. People are much more forgiving when they have a face and are personally welcomed. State your issues before someone complains, like the two table near us. Example: "Welcome, we are so happy to have you. I am owner/manager. We are running a little slow in the kitchen we are still in our infancy stage but we hope you enjoy your meal. Please let me know if you need anything." There was nothing special or unique about the food or service that would make me say you have to try the Lakemoor Diner. Good, solid breakfast restaurants are needed in this area so I hope they work out their kinks. With how long the wait was between sitting and being served they needed to have soft music in the background. Not only were other customers visibly frustrated, but we could hear conversations and complaints. It became uncomfortably quiet at times. As we walked out, they had many people waiting and as they looked around they saw a lot of empty tables with dishes. Finished plates sat in front of customers with no one clearing or checking in if everything was ok, but there was a lot of staff walking around seemingly without purpose. I'd give a 1 if they were not brand new, but I'll give a 3 based on the food being served hot and the staff was very nice.

It ended up being a little bit longer..no problem. Sat down and waited about 5/10 minutes before our service came to take our drink order. I ordered a skillet and my friend ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. While we were waiting for our food I was watching another table across the room from us (party of 6)who was only receiving 2 of their meals at a time. With about 10 minutes in between servings. That is totally unacceptable. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food to be served. It looked good when it arrived. However, there was so much chorizo in my skillet that made it so salty that I could not eat much of it. My English muffin that was an up charge wasn't even toasted. While we were waiting for our check I observed a server drop clean to go containers on the floor, pick them up and deliver them to a table without the customer knowing they were just on the floor. When the server came with our bill (which was on the handheld device she took our order on) she held it up to me to view and asked me if it was correct. Then just stood there holding it waiting for payment. Put me on the spot to pay right then and there without discussing bill with my friend. A lot needs to be fixed there. Will definitely not be coming back. It's sad because it's a small town and not a lot of breakfast options. Will be driving to Mundelein or Lake Zurich instead. I've already had to pop tums.
