I have been eating here for years my favorite place to go in town. I've never had a bad meal. The service is great. The ambience is nice, they have indoor and outdoor seating. read more

Love Midway Mercantile. It's a great spot for a family dinner or a quaint date nite. We sat out on the patio and it was perfect, the weather, tempted, atmosphere, everything. Easy to talk not too loud. And the food is always great. I started with the Caesar salad. Very good. My date ordered the curry halibut, I'm not a huge fish fan but the bite I had of this was so good, I would definitely order it. Not fishy at all and the curry has just the right amount of kick with a ton of flavor mixed with the rice. It was a great choice. 5/5 I had the pork tenderloin with penne pasta, bacon, vegetables and it was so good. My date said it was the best pork she's ever had. Our server Ariel, was nice but forgot my coke. I was going to tell her to just take it off the bill and add it to the 20% tip but I never saw her again. She was very nice tho. I will be back whenever I'm in Heber, it's worth the trip! read more

Absolutely fabulous food! Better than the top restaurants in PC. Midway Mercantile's menu is varied and creative with lots of delicious local ingredients. I highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits as well as the Halibut with Green Curry. The service is unfortunately hit or miss with some of the waitresses having no clue about the restaurant's dishes or wines but it's worth putting up with them for the outstanding cooking! read more

Unfortunately, this was probably one of the more disappointing meals we had while in Utah. Midway Mercantile itself is a really nice place, but the food and overall experience just didn't live up to it. We came with a larger group, and I had planned on ordering the sea bass, while someone else in our group wanted the halibut. Unfortunately, there was a party of around 65 people outside and we were told the rest of the restaurant had a limited menu so the kitchen could accommodate them. I understand taking care of a large party, but it was frustrating to feel like everyone else in the restaurant was getting a second-class experience because of it. At that point, I almost feel like they would have been better off closing the restaurant for the private event. With the limited options, I ended up ordering a pizza, which was just okay. We also tried the fondue, calamari, and Chick-Chacks. The calamari and Chick-Chacks were decent, but the fondue was not very good at all. Even the espresso martini missed the mark for me. It tasted more like they poured Baileys in a glass than an actual espresso martini. It's a nice-looking restaurant and maybe we caught them on the wrong night, but between the limited menu and food that was mostly just okay, it was hard to leave impressed. read more

It's closer to a 3.5 in terms of much I enjoyed my meal, but the whole experience was meh. I honestly really liked my pasta, it was very hearty and cream, but it didn't have the depth of flavor I expect from a $40 dish. It was a pretty big portion, though, but I managed to clear my entire plate. My husband wasn't particularly happy with his meal either, so I'm not sure I'd order something so expensive again. Next time, I'll try an oyster. read more

This is the best restaurant in all of Wasatch County and probably top 5 even if you add in Summit and all of Park City. Interesting, inventive dishes, fresh food (esp. the fish dishes). Excellent staff. Highly recommend. Get reservations on their site. Always busy so walking in yield a long wait! read more

Located on Main Street of Midway and the place is so cozy and rustic. Service was spectacular and so helpful with recommendations. The food was insane, my partner and I have moved this to the top of our list for favorite restaurant near SLC. He is a steak fanatic and rated their ribeye special as the best cooked medium rare he's ever had. The bacon wrapped dates are worth the drive alone. Every aspect of the dishes had so much flavor down to each side that came with the entrees. The chef came to each table and greeted as well! We want to go back and try their fresh baked pies! read more

Yummy food, sunlit dining room with outdoor views and local beers on tap! There's also a nice patio in the back that I didn't notice until we were already seated. Our friendly server told us about the daily special and answered our questions about the menu. I enjoyed the rotating "early summer" pizza from the wood-fired oven, topped with ripe tomatoes and locally-made bison sausage, with a crisp but satisfyingly chewy thin crust. A couple others in our party raved about the shrimp and grits. Outstanding! read more

Cute stop for a bite to eat while in Midway. We were 9 people (we split the teens away from the adults & it was nice & peaceful ). Service was great, & our waitress had a good sense of humor. Overall, food was good. The kids really liked their s'mores pizza & my roast turkey sandwich was delicious. read more

STOP reading and book a reservation at Midway Mercantile restaurant. Really, Right Now!! The four of us enjoyed Roasted Faroe Island Salmon and Beef Tenderloin Filet Mignon meals. The foods were beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection! A superb wait staff made for an all around lovely dining experience. We also shared 2 amazingly delicious deserts. What a gem of a restaurant here in Midway. read more

Delicious! Fresh food! I have eaten here multiple times and every time it is wonderful!

Midway mercantile is quant and cozy. I just wish the food was better. What we ordered Clams and mussels, this was the best thing we ordered, bread was delicious, broth was flavorful. Winter squash salad. Just okay, not much flavor or toppings Salmon tacos, again just okay, nothing special, no heat, and needed more seasoning Bison Meatloaf, we had high hopes, but it had a very strange flavor with mushroom butter sauce, which we are huge fans of butter and mushrooms, but this tasted off. Roasted dukkah salmon, the salmon was cooked well but a little overpowered by the dukkah, everything on the plate needed more seasoning, more salt, more pepper. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, I'd like to come back and try other items on the menu, but not sure I can talk the husband into it. read more

Very cute restaurant down town Midway, we stopped by a a quick lunch on the way down from Sundance. The service was great, we made reservation so got seated promptly, they were very busy even during lunch hours. Reservation is recommended. The pizza was on a doughy side for us but we like the salad and I enjoyed my mussels and clams as it had a nice rich coconut and lemongrass flavors. Overall a nice stop over for a small town in the middle of nowhere. I am.glad we found it. Coming from California I may be a hard critics but I would imagine this restaurant is one of the better if not best out there. 3.5 stars for food 4 stars for service and ambience. read more

The steak plate was cold, the sun was in our eyes the whole time, asked 3 times to lower blinds they put them down then they'd raise them without paying attention to the sun coming in. Our waitress was not attentive, forgot to bring drink we had ordered till almost done with dinner. However sea Bass was great! Not a good Birthday dinner experience. read more

We made a reservation here for our anniversary, and noted that & that we wanted to sit outside on the reservation. Unfortunately, not being local, we didn't realize that they host wine or whiskey dinners. When we arrived we learned we couldn't sit outside, and were put at a table right near the entrance (which was different than their normal entrance due to some construction?). The whiskey dinner really altered our experience - people were constantly in and out, we heard staff repeating the same instructions over and over, staff seeming stressed from managing the crowd, all made it really hard to enjoy our dinner. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. My husband received the wrong entree and it took quite a while to get her back to report it - once we did though, the correct entree arrived super fast. The food was good but I'm not eager to return. read more

Can I say this place does not disappoint! Every time we have been here, the food is top notch and the service is outstanding! Not to mention it doesn't go unnoticed that the "Chef, also owner "John" comes to your table to check in! He is the sweetest! The place and its decor is so cute and it just has the best vibe! We will always come and eat when we are in town! Cheers love Jason and Danielle read more

Nice atmosphere with a large covered garden patio out back. Broad menu with tasty apps - we had the bacon wrapped dates (blue cheese!) and the beet-hummus dip with snap peas and Jicama. Love this place, every bite is delicious and the space is homey. We went for Valentine's Day dinner and had the chef special steak cut. We both got medium rare and I will say the meat was definitely on the rare-er side and was a bit too bloody for my liking. I also didn't love the sauce the put on the meat, but I enjoyed the sides and our appetizer. Good spot to try out, I really enjoy a lot of their regular menu! read more

We try to eat here every time we're in the area. Servers are very helpful, well-informed, and attentive. On one visit the server reached out to his parents in Boston to get local recommendations for our upcoming vacation The food is consistently excellent with a great variety of both flavors and price. As a southerner, the shrimp and grits are terrific! We got them without the blackening. The greens were delicious, with a tang of vinegar. We had the hot fudge sundae for a birthday. The pecans were were wonderfully toasted and the fudge tasted homemade. The atmosphere is brick, glass, and wood with comfortable chairs. read more

Walking into this restaurant you could tell it was special. Attention to detail is an art that has been lost. At Midway Mercantile they have perfected it! From the menu, to the cocktail ingredients, and the execution of the food it was all impressive. I ordered the swordfish skewer app which was hands down the best swordfish I have ever had! Read that again the best swordfish I have eaten was in Midway, Utah! That alone is crazy sounding but facts! I have enjoyed swordfish since I was a kid growing up in San Diego and have eaten a lot of swordfish. I was very skeptical when ordering it but they absolutely nailed it! I also had the peach Caprese salad which the marriage of flavors was masterful. I was full already but couldn't stop eating so for dinner I ordered the trout. Again this was the best trout I have ever had. I sat at the bar the bartenders were both very knowledgeable and guided me through the menus and my decisions with perfection. I can't say enough about your restaurant exceptionally well done in all facets. Bravo Midway Mercantile Bravo! read more

We stopped in for a bite after golf. Seated right away and excellent service. But the food was just mediocre. My golf partner got the egg BLT on focaccia. It fell apart and was hard to eat. I got the three bison sliders. The meat was good but it was dry. I don't care for their potatoes (fries). Not sure I will go back. read more

I don't write bad reviews on restaurants, everyone has a bad day and I don't want to highlight someone's bad day. But this is not someone's bad day. The host here seemed to not like me and my group. I'm not sure why- but everyone in the group thought it was due to our race. We asked to be seated - 5 of us - and the host said the wait would be 30 minutes. It was a Wednesday afternoon. We could visibly see 2 empty 4 chair tables and there were 4 people seated at an 8 person table. But we asked if we could sit at the 4 person table and bring a chair over. He said no they were saved for reservations. We then asked if we could put our name down so we'll be seated when the next table is available. He said he doesn't do that, he suggested we leave and come back in 30 minutes and then IF there is a table available we can take that table. I was confused because he just mentioned the open tables are saved for reservations, isn't putting our name down the same as a reservation? It was pretty obvious this guy didn't want us to eat there and we weren't going to make a scene. Kind of disappointing but we had a great meal at LOLA'S STREET KITCHEN. Definitely encourage you to check out this place instead! Felt super comfortable and the food was delicious. read more

Had a great appetizer here and then great meal here the next day! After some shopping at Show Pony, we enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates at the bar. Kyle is a terrific bartender. You have to be careful selecting your dishes. Some are priced reasonably and some are not. I ordered the beet dip appetizer and was pleased with the portion size vs price. I then ordered the $11 portion of Sandra's salad. There was an $18 portion. I thought the portion I ordered would be a regular size salad similar to the portion served at Kneaders. To my surprise, it came on this tiny plate and was smaller than a side salad. I laughed at how small it was and was surprised the restaurant would charge so much for a half of palmful of lettuce with a little cheese. The portion size was seriously was about 5 bites. Their cost of goods (based on the lettuce you can buy from Costco) couldn't have been more than $0.20 cents. So I asked for a little more lettuce. Because I had previously asked for my dressing to be on the side, it was just lettuce. Our server brought another small portion and then charged me another $11!!!! So in the end, I paid $22 for a regular side salad portion. They should consider being a little more generous with their lettuce. I won't return and recommend you don't order their salads as a dinner entree. read more

The ambiance was pretty cool. We were taken to a patio area with temporary enclosures. There were space heaters that kept the space cozy. We were lucky to be seated right away on a Friday night. I order the shrimp and grits. They were extremely flavorful. They had just enough spice to enjoy, but not too much. There were plenty of shrimp and they were each pretty large. Even the greens in the dish were tasty. Highly recommend for a taste of southern cuisine. My wife ordered the sea bass. She was excited as she normally enjoys it. However, this time it was pretty bland in flavor. She loved the steak and everything she had last time, so we're keeping the 5 star rating. But skip the sea bass if you enjoy flavor. read more

After a few days of non-stop pickleball and time with the kids including mostly fast food for our meals, I joined some adult friends for a meal at Midway Mercantile and it was just what I needed. The restaurant is beautiful, service is attentive and personable, cocktails were made perfectly and went down easy, and the food was pretty great too. We shared a couple of appetizers (the famous bacon wrapped dates and a special vegetable app as well) amongst our group of four. I went with the seabass entree, which I was happy with. Others at the table had a crab cake pasta special (also a hit), and a steak and pork entree. The pork was the only thing that didn't go over so well. We are frequent visitors and have our favorites - halibut, salmon, Sandra's salad, seared tuna, and more. What I LOVE is the dishes that complement the season. Last night's dining included the peach and tomato caprese. Unique and fabulous! My salmon had peach sauce, another nod to the season and sooo good!
