Someone was extra happy for pizza
    Toni L.

Very cute restaurant down town Midway, we stopped by a a quick lunch on the way down from Sundance. The service was great, we made reservation so got seated promptly, they were very busy even during lunch hours. Reservation is recommended. The pizza was on a doughy side for us but we like the salad and I enjoyed my mussels and clams as it had a nice rich coconut and lemongrass flavors. Overall a nice stop over for a small town in the middle of nowhere. I am.glad we found it. Coming from California I may be a hard critics but I would imagine this restaurant is one of the better if not best out there. 3.5 stars for food 4 stars for service and ambience.

Salmon tacos, messy , and not the best

Midway mercantile is quant and cozy. I just wish the food was better. What we ordered Clams and mussels, this was the best thing we ordered, bread was delicious, broth was flavorful. Winter squash salad. Just okay, not much flavor or toppings Salmon tacos, again just okay, nothing special, no heat, and needed more seasoning Bison Meatloaf, we had high hopes, but it had a very strange flavor with mushroom butter sauce, which we are huge fans of butter and mushrooms, but this tasted off. Roasted dukkah salmon, the salmon was cooked well but a little overpowered by the dukkah, everything on the plate needed more seasoning, more salt, more pepper. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, I'd like to come back and try other items on the menu, but not sure I can talk the husband into it.

Everything and everyone at The Mercantile is amazing, from the food to the service. Get the crusted salmon... I've never tasted better salmon, and I'm from Seattle! Huge thanks to the staff for making Kodi (my service dog) and me feel so welcome!

Nice atmosphere with a large covered garden patio out back. Broad menu with tasty apps - we had the bacon wrapped dates (blue cheese!) and the beet-hummus dip with snap peas and Jicama. For lunch, our group of six sampled the crispy chicken sandwich, cheese fondu, and a few salads (all delicious).

Great dishes and fast service. The calamari and mussels and oysters were delicious. The salmon lox on the avocado toast was delightful. Great aesthetic, much improved experience from our last visit. Visited on Christmas Eve and enjoyed the family crowd. Attentive waitress and clean facility. Great visit if you're in the area!

Shrimp and grits, we had already dug in when the photo was taken

We try to eat here every time we're in the area. Servers are very helpful, well-informed, and attentive. On one visit the server reached out to his parents in Boston to get local recommendations for our upcoming vacation The food is consistently excellent with a great variety of both flavors and price. As a southerner, the shrimp and grits are terrific! We got them without the blackening. The greens were delicious, with a tang of vinegar. We had the hot fudge sundae for a birthday. The pecans were were wonderfully toasted and the fudge tasted homemade. The atmosphere is brick, glass, and wood with comfortable chairs.

Had a great appetizer here and then great meal here the next day! After some shopping at Show Pony, we enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates at the bar. Kyle is a terrific bartender. Then dinner the next night. Started with the Grains and Greens salad - so good. I had the Idaho trout - excellent - and Mrs B had the lamb Shepards pie. Beautiful old building. Nice job!

The ambiance was pretty cool. We were taken to a patio area with temporary enclosures. There were space heaters that kept the space cozy. We were lucky to be seated right away on a Friday night. I order the shrimp and grits. They were extremely flavorful. They had just enough spice to enjoy, but not too much. There were plenty of shrimp and they were each pretty large. Even the greens in the dish were tasty. Highly recommend for a taste of southern cuisine. My wife ordered the sea bass. She was excited as she normally enjoys it. However, this time it was pretty bland in flavor. She loved the steak and everything she had last time, so we're keeping the 5 star rating. But skip the sea bass if you enjoy flavor.

Wagyu special, hot honey pizza, & lamb chops

Midway Mercantile was absolutely worth the drive from Deer Valley--honestly, it exceeded our expectations and ended up being better than any restaurant we tried in Park City. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We ordered the Wagyu steak special, hot honey pizza, and lamb chops, and every single dish was phenomenal. What really made the night special was the service. Les, the chef, came by our table multiple times to check in and chat with us, which made the experience feel so personal and welcoming. DJ, our waiter, was also fantastic--attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. This is the kind of place that turns a good dinner into a memorable experience. We'll 100% be back next time we're in the area.

    Valentine's Day chef special

Love this place, every bite is delicious and the space is homey. We went for Valentine's Day dinner and had the chef special steak cut. We both got medium rare and I will say the meat was definitely on the rare-er side and was a bit too bloody for my liking. I also didn't love the sauce the put on the meat, but I enjoyed the sides and our appetizer. Good spot to try out, I really enjoy a lot of their regular menu!

Zabuton Steak special. A great cut you don't see often.

We rented an Alpenglobe, which costs an additional $35 for the weekdays and $50 for the weekend. It's one of those temperature controlled outdoor bubble structures that has a cute chandelier inside. We had fun, and the rain in the background made it even more fun. For appetizers, we shared the Bruschetta, which was well crafted and had good flavor. I had the Quattro Formaggi pizza with pepperoni added, which tasted amazing. My husband loved his Lasagna, which matched the description of "Meaty and American." My daughter scarfed down her spaghetti and garlic bread. We paired our meal with a bottle of Pino Grigio. My husband loved his Tirimisu as well, and my daughter got the largest "small" portion of ice cream that I've ever seen. Our meal came out to around $150 before tip, which wasn't bad for all the food we ordered. We left with a few boxes of leftovers. We'll be back.

One unique feature of this restaurant is the option (when available) to dine inside a yurt (some call it a "snow globe") for an additional $35. I'm honestly glad I chose not to do that. The food was average at best, and I would have been disappointed if I had paid extra for the yurt experience on top of it. As for the food, the Caesar salad was terrible! It barely qualified as a Caesar--yes, it had romaine lettuce, but the plate and salad were warm, it included tomatoes and onions (which don't belong in a traditional Caesar), and the dressing tasted like it came straight from a bottle. The mac and cheese, meatballs, and pizza were all just average as well.

I want to warn you that they use a low-quality par baked pizza crust. Their website says dough is rolled out daily, but this can't be the truth. I know a par baked crust pizza because of the manufactured nature- pin holes on the bottom, nearly perfect round pies, no air pockets (bubbles) in the crust edge after cooking, and the worst, common offense, raw spots in the dough after cooking. When you use garbage ingredients like this the result is a terrible pie. We ordered from Mountain Mike's because we thought it was a local pizza shop. The business name is misleading for a mountain town. However, after the disappointing pizza I discovered it's a California chain. No offense to franchise pizza joints, some pass, however Mountain Mike's does not. This is simply put- bad pizza and nothing that a franchise owner could do to correct. At least now you can make a better informed decision on if you should patronize this place.
