I had a terrible, disappointing, and frustrating experience that made me absolutely furious with the interaction I had with Tommy and Johnny at Midway Autohaus, 7405 S Harlem Ave, Bridgeview, IL 60455 After purchasing a vehicle, I was informed by Tommy during the third week of my possession of the vehicle that my financing had not been approved. Tommy then texted me, threatening me to go back to the dealership or else he would void the plates or put the car out for repo. I told him I couldn't go during workdays, so I scheduled an appointment for Saturday the 18th of July. At the dealership, I was told that for me to be able to keep the car, I should sign a new contract with different financing terms and make an additional down payment. I found these new demands ridiculous and unreasonable, and they raised significant red flags and serious concerns about the legitimacy of the transaction. As a result, I declined to sign the new contract and instead requested that the transaction be unwound. Immediately, Tommy got very agitated and raised his voice, saying that the dealership would keep my down payment. When I asked Tommy to show me which part of the contract allows him to keep my down payment, he refused to tell me. I reviewed the purchase contract I was provided, and I could not find any provision that would allow the dealership to retain my down payment under these circumstances. He said he had a document signed by me that allows him to keep the down payment. When I asked him to show it to me, he refused. This document was not included in the list of documents I received when I signed the contract. He then requested another employee to block the car in the lot. At this point, he was yelling at my mother and me. He literally forced us out of his office and threatened to call the police on us, saying that I would go to jail, which I found shocking. He then attempted to leave the building but later returned to his office, shut the door on us, and hid there. He made one of his co-workers, who identified himself as Johnny (the same one who blocked the car), talk to us because, for whatever reason, he could no longer speak to us. I was not provided with any written receipt or documentation acknowledging that the dealership had possession of the vehicle. I also requested copies of all documents I had signed, including a document the Midway Autohaus claimed allowed them to keep part or all of my down payment. Still, Tommy and Johnny refused to provide me with a copy. I contacted the police to document the situation, but they advised it was a civil matter. I have since requested all documentation in writing, but they have not responded. My biggest concern is the return of my down payment. Despite the financing falling through and my request to unwind the transaction, Tommy claimed that Midway Autohaus would keep my entire down payment and refused to provide the document he said authorized them to do so. As a customer, I genuinely feel like I got SCAMMED. No customer should ever have to fight to recover their own money or be denied copies of documents they signed. Based on my experience, I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with Midway Autohaus to proceed with extreme caution. Read every document carefully, insist on receiving copies of everything you sign, and do not rely on verbal promises. I wish I had chosen a different dealership, and I hope this review helps others avoid going through what I experienced. I have also sent a formal email requesting copies of the documents related to my transaction and an explanation regarding my down payment. Still, I have not received any response from Tommy. I sincerely hope someone from Midway Autohaus management or ownership will review this matter, contact me directly, and work toward a fair resolution. I would much rather resolve this issue professionally than continue escalating it through consumer protection agencies and other appropriate channels. read more

If any issue they will block your number and not help you in any way to honor contact and just try to wait you out to just pay for repairs yourself. So I went there this past Saturday with my dad to try to make a deal on a car. After speaking with a "salesman" Krystian we took the car for a test drive and sat down for the negotiation (ie paperwork and see if we could get a better deal) after running my credit they came back and said I was by approved for the car. We asked if there was any wiggle room we wer told that due to service provided internal and external (car wash and buff job) they could not reduce the price anymore without losing on profit. Doing the math given to us by the "salesman" I concluded that the payments would be too high for me and asked for $500 to be removed. (I was ready to leave with the car). They became upset refused to return my trade in and down payment. it got to the point where I had to call the bank myself and explain that the info they received was fraudulent and the bank denied the loan. the dealer held my vehicle hostage I had to involve the police to get it back. We just purchased a vehicle from here. Tom the GM was nice trying to get us to buy the car when things were pointed out as not being right or needing to be fixed before we could buy he turned into a bit of a douche. Greg our salesman was great he did everything he could for us at least so it seemed. Chris the guy in the financing department was great. Con: we were promised to have the issues fixed in 2 days it took a week. There answer to this was to give attitude when I asked for a full tank of gas and they will order us an extra key because it only comes with one they make it seem like they are doing us a great favor when we are the ones paying for the vehicle. They called me two days later acting as if they ordered me a new key that would cost them $450 and they were doing me a favor because of the time inconvenience I didn't have my car. The other key I received was actually just the other set for this truck so it was no cost to them so yeah their service is not worth getting a car from there. Had a bad experience with Paul via email. Inquired about a vehicle where they stated it was inspected by their techs and had a 2 year/24000 mile warranty. Was told the warranty expired last month. Which is either ignorance or an intentional lie in advertising. My review is neither about pricing or vehicle quality, but poor attitude and ethical sales practices. An update: I was going to increase to 2 stars based on managements response to my bcc during the conversation, but then Paul kept emailing and arguing a couple days after. EXTREMELY UNPLESANT EXPERIENCE!!! Avoid this place!!! They sold my car on a consignment, kept and used my funds for two months. They did not keep up with a lot of things that has been promised and agreed upon. Not only verbally, there even was a breach of written contract, like changing the sales price without my approval. Twice. I'm talking here about thousands not hundreds of dollars. The vehicle was used for Tom's personal purposes for quite long time, which wasn't a part of a deal. They lied to me through their teeth, denying everything they obligated to and what was in their way to deceive me. They intimidate and black mailed me. All this looks like a con artist practice. They were trying to screw me over my car's title demanding the title without providing a payment, even though they got paid for the car the day they sold it! I had been intimidated by salesman Tom. He threatened me several times that if I do not provide the car's title prior to paycheck, they will apply for a duplicate. Honest and safe offer for both sides 'title for check' was not an acceptable option for them. In order to screw me over they wanted to place themselves in a position of power - keep the money and title. Basically, creating option to overtake my car that way. Initially I have been told that I can pick up the check by the end of October. On Oct. 28th Tom told me that I can pick up the check on Nov.6th... Nov. 6th passed, still no check and Tom was pretending like nothing has happened... Between Nov. 6th and Nov.15 I had made several attempts to at least find out when I can get my check. Unsuccessfully. On Nov. 15th. when I went there to discuss the issue in person, a funny looking - but aggressive - guy told me to leave... Apparently, they were not done yet playing their games. Eventually, it turned out that they respond well to magic password - 'the Secretary of State Police'. Without this option I would probably never get my money back. On top of everything, they had audacity to deducted late fee from my check! Stealing my money as a matter of fact! Even thought they were the ones who dragged the process to extreme point! Since a car takeover didn't work out well, they have to pleased themselves at least with a couple hundred of dollars. Btw, they obviously are asking for a nice audit. One star is like a Nobel price to them, what they deserve is less than nothing! This place is clearly oriented only on your wallet, you can smell that unscrupulous grid lives there. Staff's "cordial" smile will vanish right after they "got you". They will immediately show their true colors. Business ethic sounds to them like quantum physic theories to newborn spider. Tom, the salesperson who was mainly "assisting" me throughout the process, deserve a special paragraph here, besides him being disrespectful, he is a good preacher too. He will paternalize and preach you how not to act at such noble site like this filthy place. Rule number one, you cannot just walk in and ask for your own money they have been using for two months - no interest. They will call you when they choose so. When? When they feel like. Most likely never. Basically, no answer to that. You can't call them either. Tom is busy, after all he is at work, he will eventually hang up on you. What he apparently did when he ran out of his deceptive sayings. There is much more of well documented details to this story, I'm just not into wasting my valuable time on a secondhand car warehouse run by ego-driven staff. If, despite all warnings that are being posted about this place by numbers of "satisfied" customers, you choose to go there, keep your eyes wide open, leave your trust at home and pray for a miracle. Lo and behold. I WOULD SAY DON'T DEAL WITH THEM OR BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. I believe that there are honest people in car business too. Spend your hard-earned money at places where people are demonstrating certain business standards. Unprofessional businesses and their shady practice supposed to be pointed out and exposed. read more

Just bought a car today, a used 2014 ford focus. I test drove it earlier that day and no check engine light was on. Drove 20mins home and bam check engine light came on. That means they turned off the code during diagnostics. When you clear a code.... it will eventually show up again. Buyers beware. Do not buy a car from this place! If I could give them zero stars I would! We purchased a car for my 16 year old daughter a year and a half ago. We drove it off the lot and check engine light and numerous other lights went off on it two miles down the road. Two times we brought it to them and they said it's a simple fix and the car is in great shape not to worry! They so called tried to fix it and then sent us to the car dealer because they couldn't figure it out. Thank god we bought the warranty on it. We are now close to $13,000 worth of warranty work done on this car and over $2000 out of pocket for things not covered. Now the exhaust completely broke on it. The coolant hose broke. The mileage lights flashing, window won't roll down, radio broke. I could go on! It is disappointing when you talked to numerous people at the dealer and said how great this car is. It is not safe for her to drive! After contacting the manager Tom at the dealer he basically said sorry, you should have done your research. It's not our problem. I am a 20-year Navy Veteran who was taken advantage of by this dealership. I purchased a 2010 Acura MDX from this dealership in July 2021. I have had to have a oil pan replaced, an engine cylinder blew and now it needs 2 new catalytic converters! When I bought the car it had 78K miless on it ( still have certified odometer disclosure statement). Anyway, I recently decided to cut my losses and trade it in for another vehicle. When the prospective dealer I was working with ran the VIN on the vehicle purchased from Midway, it was revealed by CARFAX, that my vehicle had 279K on it in September 2020, and has at least 306k on it now! I still owe $16k on it now... When I talked to the sales manager he said he was aware of the history but didn't know where they purchased it from. He then stated that they had disclosed the carfax- which they clearly didn't! He also stated that he would take the car off my hands via trade. The next day he stated that he would have to check with the owners before proceeding.... That was over 2 weeks ago! Who would finance a car for 17k with over 300,000 miles on it??? First let me say that I did NOT end up buying a car from these guys. The following is what I experienced shopping for one. The car I was looking at was several thousand dollars below what it was priced at any other dealer. It appears to have been bought at auction and had a clean CarFax report. At the auction, it was announced that it had structural damage repaired. The CarFax would have eventually record this auction announcement but usually not for many months but I would never have known this. After all, who goes back to check the CarFax of a car they bought months ago. Fortunately, I bought an AutoCheck report the morning I was going to buy this car. They record auction announcements right away. The car that I I was about to spend $15k on had major structural damage announced at auction and was probably worth less than half of that. Be very careful dealing with these guys. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. read more

Car searching has to be the most draining process I've ever undergone, I can't possibly imagine what searching for the perfect house is like but I digress . I came to Midway Autohaus in order to purchase a 2013 Hyundai Elantra that I saw on their website upon viewing the car in person it wasn't in perfect condition, the tires were worn but we negotiated a deal on the tires. I left a deposit on the car to hold it while they ran my credit to see if I could get financed. After much inquiry on my part the next day I was told I hadn't been approved for financing I would need a cosigner or to find another way to purchase the vehicle. I was determined to buy that car so I decided to buy the car outright in cash I contacted my sales person Kyia (probably misspelled) she told me the vehicle was still available and the deposit was still holding it, it was approx. a week after I went to the dealership. I told her when I would be coming and she said that was fine. WELL I go all the way to the dealership to find out that my car had been sold and no one bothered to give me a courtesy call. After all the deposit was meant to hold the car right? The other salesmen couldn't believe the car had been sold either, I was livid. They tried to get me to buy other cars but they certainly weren't up to par. Then this classless prick named REX who sold the car had the audacity to laugh in my face and tell me that I should've came and bought it yesterday!! I can't believe that this business employs individuals who are that unprofessional and outright mocks a customer! They are RUDE and unprofessional and certainly won't be receiving my business! Icing on the cake is when I went to retrieve my deposit I was told Rex is like that all the time to both customers and employees ! In a customer service field this unacceptable and disgusting behavior that the company is obviously aware of and condones. Save yourself some time and stress and go somewhere else if you wanted to be treated with at least an ounce of respect. read more

ZERO STARS!!!! We were duped by this dealership and considering legal action. They sold us a "Auction announced as unibody damaged" vehicle and showed us a clean carfax for this VIN number. The only reason I found out is when I moved insurance they told me this was a high risk vehicle. Not having any accidents I was confused as to why they deemed it such high risk. They told me it was in a big accident!!! This had not been on the carfax at the time of the sale and when I had asked if this car was in any accidents at the time of purchase and they had told me that they did not know of any!!! Sold me a 2015 Mercedes C300 4 Matic a little over a year ago. When I bought it the Carfax they provided showed that the car had minor damage reported which wasn't too big of a concern for me. Fast forward to today, I get the car appraised at Infiniti Clarendon Hills, they run the car fax and show me that the there was structural damage reported and as a result couldn't offer me more than $8500. At first I thought it was a joke. I took their Carfax and compared it to the one included in the paperwork from Midway Autohaus, and what do you know Midway's Carfax showed "vehicle sold at auction" where as Infiniti's shows "structural damage reported" for the same exact date. This seems to me like fraud. In addition they lied to me when I bought it and said they'll mail me the second key, followed up with them multiple times and they gave me the run around. I saw a car for sale on their website. I called, spoke to the sales manager, to confirm it was still for sale. She said it was. So I made an appointment to see it. When I arrived at Midway Autohaus, 30 minutes later, the salesman told me he sold the car that morning, several hours before the sales manager promised me it was still for sale. My husband and I recently purchased a vehicle from this business. In the age of COVID I was very disheartened to see not a single employee wearing a mask or taking social distancing precautions on not one, but two different occasions. This is especially worrisome as we were told that one of their employees was recently ill during the pandemic, meaning the exposure risk was very high. During the encounter we were forced into small rooms with people walking in and out as they pleased, not taking any regard for the dangers to the customers. Furthermore, their sanitation of the car after test driving consisted of baby wipes, which are not actually antimicrobial. As far as purchasing the car, I was very unhappy in the way we were treated by the staff as they made passive aggressive comments and were unprofessional going as far as to harass me after posting my concerns initially. If you have a bad experience they will call and yell at you to take down your reviews, which is an even more worrisome practice. I would NOT recommend purchasing a vehicle from this establishment as they clearly do not value customer safety and have poor customer service. read more

This place is shady. My family had been buying cars from them for years. In recent years now, the management has changed or something cause they lie straight to your face and they aren't respectable. Twice now I went and looked at a car. The first one, they sold to someone else the next day without even contacting me. The next one, which was about a week ago, I left them an offer and they said they had to contact the original owner cause they were selling it for him. I called back the next day and it had nothing to do with the owner. The title was still under salvage, yet they neglected to tell me that when I was there. Anyways, they also add in some bs fees like a $300 dealer fee for "keeping the car in shape and clean" and other bs fees like that. I offered them $6500 for the car I was looking at and after taxes and "other fees" it came out to a whopping $8500. $2000 in fees and other nonsense. I called back to check up on the car multiple times and I tried getting a hold of Paul, the salesman who helped me. Every time I called he was unavailable or they said "he'll call you right back right now". Not once did I ever get a call from him or the dealership. This place has become very shady within the past few years and if I were you I'd go somewhere else so you don't lose $1000-1300 on fake taxes and other bs. read more
