This review is long overdue. Have been using Agean Auto Works for over 3 years. Alex and his staff are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. Alex is a very honest man and you can trust that he won't charge you for something you don't need. Gracias Alex for your kindness and great job. Highly recommended! read more

I have been here twice and both times Alex has been so kind. I appreciate his honesty, how he explains things and how fast the service is. They do quality work and I plan on counting going here. He's also upfront about pricing. read more

Alex and his team are the absolute best in the business! They provide such good quality service and keep great communication with their customers. I've used this company a few times now and they always exceed expectations. Thank you so much! I would recommend Midtown Agean Auto Works to anyone! read more

Great communication as always. You get what you pay for. I can feel the pride in craftsmanship from Mike, the mechanic. Alex, the owner, is always fun to talk to. Very knowledgeable. You might need to make appointment because it is a tiny local place. Alex is always flexible and tries to accommodate anytime with his customers though. I live in Midtown and come back every time. read more

Alex is great. Does everything at a good price and fast. Small shop with personal touch. He'll have your car fixed in no time. Way better than the big corporate shops read more

Catalytic converters we're stolen from my friend truck, went through insurance to get this covered. These guys know their stuff and showed what they would do and the parts that came off the truck. Quick turnaround time once parts arrived. The only question I have lingering is where the parts come from, but I don't know a mechanic that reveals that kind of stuff. I got this place as a recommendation from a friend and I would recommend to others as well. read more

A trusty mechanic is like a unicorn. They pretty much don't exist, and when you think you've found one, they turn out to just a horse. These guys are the unicorn: A trusty mechanic shop who won't try to upsell you and charge a reasonable price. I came here after my car was having issues starting and I figured it was the battery. Another mechanic (you can read my other reviews to figure out which) attempted to tell me that everything else was wrong with my car and needed to be replaced except, of course, the battery. I brought my car to Midtown Agean and explained the situation, and they replaced my battery and reassured me that everything else was fine for a reasonable price. They are also really nice and are willing to go the extra mile to accommodate their customers. I normally list the cons of a place in every review, but honestly, there are none. If you ever need a mechanic, you should never go anywhere else. read more

This is by far THE BEST mechanic shop you can bring your car too. I luckily stumbled upon this gem 4yrs ago and I've been a repeated customer ever since no matter what the issue is. Alex and Mike are both super honest with their work. There's multiple instances where they could have easily ripped me off just as any other mechanic shop does, though they haven't. They will only tell you what the real issue is and will make sure that it's fixed with their absolute best effort. I'm not one for writing reviews at all, but Midtown Auto Works deserves ever piece of credit plus more. I absolutely love these guys and would HIGHLY recommend any/everyone to them. Give them a try and see for yourself. P.s - Be sure to thank me later ;) read more

Two mechanic shops told me I needed a new power steering pump. They quoted me $650 - $750. I decided to check out Aegean Auto works because the reviews were so good. Mike at Aegean inspected my car and told me he could fix the noise by simply flushing the power steering fluid, replacing the o-rings and treating the pump return and supply lines. Total cost to repair at Aegean: $165! Mike saved me HUNDREDS of dollars with his honesty. Could not ask for a better mechanic. While in the waiting room, I spoke with another customer of Aegean's. He told me he had been going to Aegean for 17 years. Wow. What an incredible shop Aegean is, to maintain customer relationships for nearly two decades. Aegean is Houston's best kept secret. Thank you, Mike! read more

Tire had a slow leak, turned out I ran over some small metal pieces. Sealed everything up and checked thoroughly for a super fair price! 100% recommend them! read more

Mike took excellent care of us and even saved the old icky parts he replaced to show us exactly what the problems were. Quick service and trustworthy. Very convenient to downtown, too. So happy to find them! read more

These guys are trustworthy, fast, polite, and know their stuff. It's great to not be taken for a ride and to have a place in my neighborhood I can get to easily and that I believe in. Definitely recommended. read more

Alex and Mark are great! I've take my girlfriend's car, as well as mine, and both times we have been more than satisfied with the work done. They work very fast and efficiently. These guys are very direct and straightforward. The banter between them is a hoot. You can tell they enjoy what they do. It's not one of these places where you'll get lost in the mix or riddled with add-on sales pitches - it's small and friendly. So far I've had; An Oil change A relay switch changed out Keep up the good work fellas! read more

I had my battery replaced at a different place and when my car didn't start the next day I thought it might be the alternator. I submitted an online message since they were closed and they called me first thing Monday morning and already over the phone diagnosed it as probably something more electrical than alternator. Sure enough, he was right and it was a very easy fix, quick in & out, and inexpensive! Highly recommend this place for honest work! read more

Very rude service. He got mad at me because he looked at my car for free and I came back on a different day than he advised when I told him I was bringing him someone else's care to begin with! I never asked for any FREE work just wanted to know what was wrong with my car. I got to the shop at 2:46pm on Friday and it clearly says they close at 5 but he said he is closed. NEVER SOEND YOUR MONEY WITH THIS RUDE MAN read more

These guys are great . . . . I don't want to take my car anywhere else! They're honest friendly, and astonishingly fast. I've had a ton of stuff done there, everything from oil changes to replacement mirrors, car stereo installation to electrical work. They're the best for the best price! Plus, they're hilarious. Alex and Mike a like characters out of a sitcom. It's almost like they should have their own TV show. You'll know what I mean as soon as you meet them. read more

This was my second or third visit here and they are always on top of their game. They don't take off days in attitude or ability. Took my 4Runner for a battery and alternator change. Dropped it off at 12:40 walked to Sunny's for a Mountain Dew and then to Lankford Grocery, which is about a two minute walk up Genesee, for the chicken fried steak special. Got a call at about 1:55. All Done !! One hour and ten minutes later I have a new battery and alternator. These guys are fast, friendly, and very competent. read more

These guys have restored my faith in repair shops! I brought my car in for an oil change and AC repair. I was greeted by a very friendly mechanic, I told him my car needs and he immediately went to work. They kept me informed all afternoon on the status of my car. Within a few short hours my car was back in tip-top shape! My pocket book thanks them too! The repair cost was incredibly fair! Honest! Knowledgeable! Friendly! I'll definitely be back! Thanks guys! read more

This place is around the corner from where I live, so I have used them many times. The guy who sits at the front desk, I assume the owner, is very courteous when talking to you. His prices are very affordable and he gets the job done quick. He never pushes me to do other things or tells me my car needs other work it does not. read more

Midtown Agean Auto Works have been as good as it gets in servicing my little Toyota Carolla for the past 5 years .... Honest, quick, reliable and a lot of fun, too. Thank you Aegean - you represent a standard of excellence in the Auto repair industry. read more

Come early and you will most likely get your car serviced same day. Ask for Alex the owner. these guys were great. Honest, fair in price and fast. Very Happy! read more

I took my 2001 GMC to the guys to replace the u-joints in my driveshaft as it was making noise. I asked them to check the shocks, struts, & brakes while they had her in the air. They said most everything looked good but they noticed a problem with the shackles and put in yeomans work to get them fixed. The truck drives like a dream again and I am very happy with both their integrity and quality of work. read more

Fast, friendly, honest, good-value service. Turned around my car in few hours with a complete brake job and new power steering hoses. Quoted $600 for the timing belt and water pump replacement I'll need in about 17k miles, which is half the dealer price. Highly recommended. read more

We used these guys for 4 years when we lived a few blocks away. Now we have moved out of state, but still refer to them as the gold standard and wish we could find someone as good that we trust out here! Midtown Agean saved our butts on our Toyota and Hyundai multiple times. They are reasonably priced, especially since the often taught me how to fix a problem that thought might happen again. So many times they took me aside for a tutorial! Now I fix my own car for minor things, they gave me confidence. They deserve your business! read more

Fast, honest, friendly service. They're now my go-to mechanics.

Incredible service!!!!! Family ran, HONEST, kind, & quick. I had my alternator switched out & they were really informative & friendly & all around a joy to work with. They even stayed open late in order to complete my repair. I felt like family by the time I drove off. Thank you Agean mechanics!! read more

I have to agree with the earlier review's and those same reviews are the reason why I took our car to them. Everyone at this business was very friendly and professional. I showed up without an appointment and they were able to get in and fixed the same day. Our car was running hot and I was expecting high dollar repair, it turned out not to be the case at all. Granted, not all repairs are created equal and it is clear this business operates honestly. I will not have any reservations in returning or recommending them. read more

Alex and Mike are the BEST! I have never had a better experience at an auto shop. Very fair, honest pricing, great customer service, and the work speaks for itself. Alex is very friendly and treated me like family - when it turned out that I needed a second new part he went and drove to pick it up himself. Both Mike and Alex made sure my car sounded ok before they let me leave, and gave me a big hug before I left. Highly recommend - I won't take my car anywhere else. I had two ignition coils replaced but will start coming here for regular oil changes as well. read more

Alex and his team did a great job. Took in my 13 year old Pathfinder and basically told him to find anything wrong with it he could and give me a price. He fixed things that needed to be done, and refused to do things that many other shops would have told me I needed to have done. For example, I suggested the Automatic transmission fluid should be changed due to time since it was last changed (very low mileage) and he said, no, it was okay. New shocks? No, they are fine. Differential fluids (it is a 4x4)? No, level is good and oil looks okay. Did need front brakes turned and new rotors, oil change, and change the coolant as the 4x4 is being moved to a cold winter region. I needed new tires and had a set lined up elsewhere, but they got me a better price and had everything sorted out the same day. Top notch service. Old school, and very genuine. Richard read more

I can't recommend Midtown Agean Auto works strongly enough! Alex is one of the most honest mechanics I've met. A few years ago he replaced a major car part on my older car, high mileage car. When we brought it again two years later it was having major issues, we wanted to know if it was worth fixing or if it was finally time for us to let it go. Alex was very honest with us and instead of talking us into extensive and expensive work on our 15 year old car with 215k miles, he gave us a matter of fact answer! We decided against repairs and decided to finally get a new car. Best yet, Alex didn't charge us a penny for all of his work, he even put it up on a lift and showed us everything he found. I'm really glad we have a mechanic we trust, does amazing work, and is very honest. Everyone that works for him is just as awesome. Really great people. We def will be using him again if we need any auto work. read more

I came here because it had such high reviews. I was very disappointed that they were not more helpful in assisting me in changing my fog lights. I bought some lights to change out myself. to change out the lights simply involved removing 3 screws under the bumper to fold back a plastic cover and then replacing the bulbs. I Had already done this step in less than 5 min, but had trouble with putting my hand underneath the bumper to unscrew the bulb as my car is very low to the ground. This could have been done extremely easily by jacking the car up in 20 min or less. They wanted to charge me 75 dollars for the labor to do this, and did not care to negotiate or discuss the matter further. read more

A bit cliche, but I have never written a review before. I had to write a review for this truly wonderful auto mechanic and his shop. Alex and his son are great people, honest and straight forward. No funny business here, feel comfortable that they will fix your problem and not jack the price on you. Trust me, these guys are the most trustworthy in all of Houston. Check them out. read more

This place is fantastic, the owner, Alex is not only extremely helpful and honest but also hilarious. They dropped me off home after I brought in my car and were willing to pick me up as well. I had a laundry list of things to get done and they got in done within 24 hours. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy garage!! read more

Mike is very honest guy, his service is very quick and you can trust his words, I had an engine light on and the other mechanics wanted to charge me a lot to fix it he just fixed the issue by cleaning the cables and my car is running fine now :) read more

I have serviced my car here for over 4 years. Alex and Mike have been always honest regarding the diagnostic and fixed the issues quickly. Never overcharged for the parts and service. They will offer a ride (if you live within 10 miles) if the work requires longer time and you don't have alternative transportation. I highly recommend this place. read more

I HIGHLY recommend this place. The service is quick and Alex is very pleasant and most importantly when it comes to auto shops, honest.
