We had family from out of town and we wanted to take them to try authentic tacos. After searching on Yelp, we landed on Midnight Taco. Our party of five were greeted upon entering. We later realized that the guy behind the counter who took our orders is the owner or one of them. The restaurant is clean and cozy, and has ample seating including a long, communal table in the middle. Our party ordered a variety of items such as carne asada fries, quesadilla, burritos, and more. Everything was prepared well and tasty. The portions were great and the prices were very reasonable. I just wish they had fish or shrimp options, but not enough to keep me from returning! read more

Love this little place. Don't sleep on this place. Get their meal deal two tacos, chips and queso or rice and beans with a soda $12.99. The carne asada and el pastor are excellent. I also love that the place is always clean and smells good. And, the crew working are always so kind and so quick! Love this place. read more

Overall: 9/10 Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Value: 8/10 This place has amazing authentic Mexican fast food. Everything was delicious and the service was very friendly. Came in with low expectations and came away fully delighted. Highly recommend. read more

Great food again. Reopened in Downtown Gilbert in the Gelatostore across from Peterson's Ice Cream. Offering a new breakfast menu, too.

Very friendly staff and quick service, but I thought the food was just alright. Order at the counter, and if you get a soda, grab it from the fridge in the back. Indoor and outdoor seating available. I got two tacos (al pastor and carne asada), chips and salsa, and my friend got a carne asada quesadilla, all of which totaled $30. The al pastor was tasty, but the carne asada was a bit tough and not too flavorful. Both had a decent amount of toppings (cabbage, tomatoes, salsa, etc.) already added - not the typical street taco. My friend said her quesadilla had a lot of veggies, and not too much meat. The chips were a bit stale, and the salsa reminded of Tostito's salsa that was slightly blended with a spicy kick. To be fair, there aren't many taco places in the Gilbert area, but I would venture a bit further (Phoenix) for tacos. read more

Such a gem! The. Best. Tacos. Ever. Do it!!! You won't regret it. My only complaint is I wish it was closer to our house.

Ridiculously Expensive $$$$$ for average tacos. Single flour tortilla only. Most authentic taqueria's give two corn tortillas per taco and charge $2.95 per taco. read more

Midnight Taco - This was $16.95 for 4 tacos. I just got robbed. Never again!!! - Street Vendors Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

Best tacos in Arizona! I'm hooked. I crave these constantly and try to go at least once a week even though I live 25 minutes away. The carne asada has great flavor and these tortillas are amazing! The flour tortillas on the tacos are thin but not fragile, soft but crispy, and super fresh. Carne asada tacos are the best, so that's my main order, but I've also had the carne asada burrito and that was delicious too. read more

Pulled up on a Saturday afternoon. Very nice and clean tables and chairs. Staff were very friendly. I ordered the carne asada burrito. Good size and full of meat. It was actually very filling. They don't offer a soda fountain for drinks but do have a fridge with various cold drinks. The prices are reasonable compared to other tacos spots. I will definitely return to try other plates as they offer tacos, quesadillas, Sonoran hot dogs, nachos and burritos. read more

If you are looking for authentic Sonora style tacos in Gilbert, look no more! These are the best ones in all of Gilbert. From their tortillas to their meats and toppings... mmmmm. Service has always been prompt. The spot is not super big, but we've never had a hard time finding seats. The people there make us feel at home when we eat here. read more

Amazing tacos! Ordered online directly through their website while shopping in this plaza and they were ready in 10 minutes for pick up. Opted for 3 chicken tacos with cheese and they were mighty tasty, flavorful and filling and the salsa had just the right kick to them! It's a bit of a hole in the wall/run of the mill taco shop in regards to aesthetics but the food can't be beat and the service is very friendly read more

Not a bad little shop in a part of Gilbert that doesn't seem to have a lot of dining options. Friends and I stopped by after playing golf nearby for dinner. It's a fairly low key place. Limited seating inside (high tops) and a couple of outside tables for the nice weather. The menu is pretty simple - tacos, burritos, quesadillas, fresh salsa and chips. Drinks (cans and bottles) are grabbed from the cooler. Everything is reasonably priced. The al pastor was a little too spicy for my liking but the burrito is huge so I was able to douse it a bit with their delish salsa. The salsa is much more akin to traditional tomato paste than a pico de gallo. Chips and salsa were definitely plentiful for us to share. read more

Love Midnight Taco!!! I go here whenever I am in the area, and sometimes go there to pick up a quick meal even when I am not in the area! It's great food, great service and fast! read more

This place is amazing, legit the best tacos I've had in a long time, and that includes Taco Boys, Tacos Calafia, El Gordo,, Get yo Tacos, Tacos Chiwas and some others. The quesatacos with carne asada is too good, because I'm going to be back ordering more it's that good. The chiltepin salsa was fantastic, perfection. The pollo asado was delicious as well, the carne asada without quesataco style is great. And, the veggie taco is worth ordering. I love veggie tacos, and this one os very good and flavorful, better than all except maybe tacos chiwas on the veggie taco. I don't know what they do to their carne asada, but I will be back for more as it is flavorful and amazing. The only negative is that this is going to trash my goal of eating to lose weight. These tacos are ones I'll crave they're so good. No photos cuz I was stuffing my face read more

We came across some shockingly good tacos in Gilbert at Midnight Taco. The restaurant is small and minimal seating is available, however based on the crowd you could tell something good was going down here. They have tacos, burritos, and quesadillas with your traditional meats. The pollo asado tacos were spectacular and the quesadillas were crispy with just the right amount of cheese. Be sure to ask for house hot sauces as both were very good. The tacos are flour and closer to street style in size, so be sure to go with a couple when ordering. read more

First, water. To only have bottled water and pop available as a drink option is wrong. As a restaurant you should give a glass of water, if requested. I purchased a bottle of water, but couldn't finish my food, because I finished the water half way through my burrito. read more

We needed a quick something to eat, and decided on this taco stand bc there wasn't a line. We're so glad we did! We ordered the Al Pastor Pork taco. It was amazing!! Next time, I'm getting one of every taco and giving them all a try. read more

Midnight Taco - 4 Asada tacos with everything on it - Street Vendors Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

Great tacos for their amazing value. I ordered carne asada, pastor, chips&salsa, and queso tacos. 1. The pastor and asada tacos are flavorful. The price is very reasonable--- right below 3 dollars. 2. The chips are decent. The salsa is very thick, and it is perfect for those with minimal tolerance for spice, which is ideal for kids. The salsa has a paste texture, perfect for kids who don't like pico de gallo that resemble too much like vegetables. There is a picture for this. 3. The queso tacos are delicious. It is a lovely slap of grilled cheese on top of your standard tacos of your choice. There is a picture for this. 4. The decro is very simple and standard, no nonsense and fuss, very straightforward. It is also a modest sized business with a long high top table right in the center. 5. The restroom, I believe, is at the back, which is right passed through the hallway. 6. The cashier is very kind, very professional and friendly. He is very cheery and approachable! Good vibe. 7. Drinks are available in the fridge, which you can get it yourself --- canned or bottled drinks. 8. Keep in mind that --- the resturant hours are important. It closed at a certain time and be sure to get there on time because it it's not open until midnight. ;) have a great time! I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do. It's a great spot in a quiet area, perfect for peaceful dinner with an outdoor patio to eat at. read more

The Sonoran Digs are delicious the bun makes a huge difference so soft really good hotdog 100% recommend

The food is really delicious. This is not a "real" sit-down restaurant (as I had thought before arriving). It's a small place in a strip center with not very many seats along the walls. One giant community picnic style high top table runs down the middle of the space with stools. Much more of a take-out place. Also they don't have a soda fountain machine so everything is in bottles and cans in a self service refrigerator and they're not cheap. If you're like me and drink a lot of beverage with your meals, I recommend taking your food home. Otherwise, I had the Al Pastor Burrito and it was delicious. Chips and salsa were very good as well. Enjoy! read more

Second visit, which will also be my last. They "forgot" a taco, which happened on the first visit too. The nachos con todo could've fit in two small hands (and the "guac" couldn't have been more than a tablespoon). To charge $11.50 for the handful of nachos and then add a convenience charge?!? The food was okay; nothing special; but certainly not worth the price! read more

My son was getting a haircut nearby and I thought I'd grab a bite to eat. I wanted to say the food was absolutely delicious. I had a Carne Asada burrito. The establishment was clean and cozy. However, it smelled like cleaning products. The smell was so strong I had to eat my food outside. One of the recommendations I can offer from a customer is do not clean with heavy products during business hours. Definitely save that for after. Also, Customer service is important, greeting customers and welcoming them in and thanking them for their business is important. They seem to not have put any effort into this. After all customers are what keeps your business going. Make sure you make them feel welcomed and appreciated. read more

Walked in here today 4:30 on a Saturday place is completely empty. There's two people in the kitchen male and female the male looks up at me. I smile and nod hello and receive no reaction. Minute later he places a to-go order on the counter and rings a bell and looks at me. I asked him how he's doing? He looks at me and no reaction again. Okay I can tell when I'm not wanted or my business is not appreciated I turned around and proceeded to walk towards the door. I got to the door I and turned around he was just staring at me. Apparently they don't train people on basic customer service skills. Sorry but I won't be back. In this economy I can be picky with where I spend my money. I appreciate good customer service. Let's face it Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen there's one on every corner. read more

OH EM GEE! After reading the reviews I was convinced to check this place out for a quick dinner, and BOY were y'all preaching the truth. We got the Queso Carne Asada tacos and it's packed with flavor. Carne asada, flavor packed pico, avocado salsa, cabbage, topped with grilled queso . I got the Serrano and jalapeño salsa to top it off and WOW, I was shocked of how flavorful the tacos were. I'm used to eating the basic street tacos but this is next level. It was so good I forgot to take a picture 10/10! read more

Finally decided to check out the taco place by my neighborhood. A little small inside, not much room to eat in if you want to. They were cooking when I got there, so it was a little smokey inside, but it added to the atmosphere! I ordered a carne asada taco, an al pastor taco and a Sonoran hot dog they say they have the best carne asada, and I am almost 100% sure they are right. Great smokey steak flavor with plenty of taco filling. The al pastor was good too, just not as flavorful as I prefer. The Sonoran dog was the best I have come across in the greater Phoenix area. In fact I wii go a step farther and say it is one of the best in Arizona. The bun had the perfect amount of chew and held up well against the delicious piled on toppings. The prices were around average for local taco shops, but the food was outstanding. read more

The tacos were awful. The carne asada had a suspicious flavor, the kind where you know you'll have stomach issues later but what are you gonna do? Ask for a refund? The three of us left the food on the table and walked out. At this point Taco Bell was a better option. No stars for this place, but had to leave one for the bottled water. read more
