The first time we walked in, they asked if we had a reservation. We said no, and they still sat us--thankfully--the wine selection was out of this world, and the frutti di mare was to die for. On our second visit , we called to make a reservation and they said that it was first come first served for the night, we had to wait - we thought, hey let's just walk around and see if there is availability somewhere else - everywhere else was dead ..(we had to go back), I tried the catch of the day--perfectly pulled fish with a fresh seasonal salad. I'm sure this is one of the best restaurants in Ravello. Just a tip: don't go too late. The service slipped from so-so to completely unattended for long stretches, which really took away from the experience. We came here for pranzo in Ravello on a private tour of the Amalfi Coast. It was an excellent suggestion from our driver. We were greeted warmly and given the choice of English or Italian menus. Once seated, we started with wine -- a bottle of their casa rosso (house red wine) Costa d'Almalfi Tramonte Rosso ... very good. The food was excellent. We enjoyed great seafood, including outstanding grilled octopus, the best stuffed squid (calamari), and spaghetti with clams. I was really pleased with the "Nduneri" -- ricotta cheese dumplings with stewed veal cheeks in chocolate sauce -- and the sautéed breast of duck. On the pricey side, but we'll worth the visit.

I am not vegetarian but I don't eat seafood so I often find it easier to go with the vegetarian option which is what I did on this night. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite dish because everything was so insanely fresh and flavorful. At one point near the end of the meal the manager walked by and as he KEPT WALKING he asked if everything was good but didn't even stop. Just said it as he was walking by. It was my birthday and we had made reservations in April & my husband told them if was my birthday. They did bring a complimentary glass of bubbly which was nice. But the birthday dessert? Kind of an after thought! The dessert waitress brought a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate and then proceeded to put a few small cookies on the plate. Not even worth taking a picture of.
