This Midas location appears to have issues with opening up shop on time. I made an appointment for 7:30am (which is within business hours). It's 8:10 at the moment, and the doors are still closed. The reason why I made an early appointment is so that I can squeeze in a service before going to work. However, the end result is that I've wasted 30 minutes of my morning, with no sign of a technician nearby. I'm truly disappointed and amazed at how little accountability there is, and I hope this is corrected soon. My advice is to not schedule morning services with these guys, it will certainly be a waste of valuable time. read more

Had my car looked at here and it was a great experience from the phone call to the finish. I went in thinking I needed new brakes but was informed that I just needed a cleaning and flush! That says a lot right there because they could have agreed just to get more money but they didn't! I went with my boyfriend where people usually only talk to him and explain things to him but the main front desk guy and mechanic Zack made sure I understood as well and answered all of my questions. I had my front brake pads replaced here. The new owner, Carlo, is very friendly and professional. While checking my brake system, he found my coolant reservoir cap was missing and recommend getting a new cap. Of course. He also offered me a ride home and back to pick up my car. I just wanted to say Thank you to Carlo and Zack for all there help with my 2002 Ford Focus, my car would not start and had to be towed to the shop. I went in to this Midas location today to have a brake inspection on my Subaru Outback. I was greeted in the parking lot by a technician who provided great service by filling out my information on the paperwork even before I walked inside. Carlo, the new franchise owner (since October 2012), greeted me from behind the front desk in the waiting room. I did need to have some brake work performed, and Carlo used the online coupon(s) I brought with me to minimize my cost. I was kept informed of the progress as the brake work was completed. Everything was handled very professionally. While waiting for my car to be ready, I observed one customer that came in for a tire rotation and some other minimal-expense work. The Midas technican inspected her car and determined that additional repairs were appropriate. For each repair item, the customer was escorted into the service area and shown what the issue was. Carlo provided an estimate for each repair action, but did not try to strong-arm the customer into having the additional work performed. I felt they provided just the right amount of customer knowledge, and then let the customer decide what repairs to perform. I will be back to this Midas location in Walnut Creek. My auto service experience today was the best I've had in a very long time, and the best I have ever had at Midas. read more

I have to admit that as a woman, I really do not pay attention to my car unless it starts acting up. Well, when my 2002 Mustang started acting up, I did not know where to take it as i feel that women can get taken advantage of when they do not know what is exactly wrong with their car. I checked Yelp and saw that Midas in Walnut Creek had great reviews so I took a chance and boy was I glad I did. Everyone there is open, friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. My car was fixed in record time with minimal cost. Ladies, if you are like me and do not know much about cars, when you have a problem, you can trust Midas in Walnut Creek to not rip you off and help you with a smile on their face. A month ago, after having brake work done on our Camry at Walnut Creek Midas, I was given an estimate for shock and strut replacement. I decided to wait to do the work, but nonetheless asked the person at the counter how long it would take to do the work. "About an hour", he replied. On 8/5/2015 at 9:30 am, I brought our car to their shop after having made an appointment the previous day. I told the person at the counter that I would return around 12:30 pm to pick up the car. When I returned around noon, I found that the car was not ready. I was then told that replacement of the shocks/struts would take "About a half day". At 2:00 pm, I asked how the work was progressing. I was told, "One more strut, tighten some bolts, and it will be ready to go." At 3:30 pm, the mechanic was still working on the car. One of the employees offered me a ride home, which I accepted. Having returned home, I received a call from Midas at 4:45 pm saying that the car was ready to be picked up. At 4:50 pm I received a second call saying that their alignment machine had broken and that the car would not be ready until the next morning. We picked up the car at 12:30 pm on the following day (8/6/2015). That afternoon we discovered that the seat belt receivers for the rear seat were missing. I contacted Midas at 5:30 pm. They tried to instruct me as to what I should do to fix the receivers. This is evidently not a simple task and I was unable to make the repair. In our conversation, Midas suggested that I bring the car to them. Given the amount of inconvenience that they had caused us, I resisted making a third trip to Midas, suggesting instead that they send someone to our house. They said that this was impossible since their insurance did not cover fixing car seat receivers at a customer's home. The following day (8/7/2015) at 3:30 pm, my wife took our car to Midas. They fixed the receiver problem in about ten minutes. As a seemingly unrelated matter, the person at the counter assured me that Midas was fully committed to 100% customer satisfaction. I come here any time something is up with my car and I have never had a bad experience! Seriously, these guys are amazing at what they do and extremely friendly and helpful. The service is done well and everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. Daniel is always more than willing to explain to me what's going on with my car and answer my questions in a way I understand. He drew me a picture to explain the different types of oil for an oil change when I said I didn't understand the difference and wanted to know more! These guys do decent work at a reasonable price. But every time I've been there, my car is left filthy - I have light leather interior and there are multiple (as in half a dozen) major dirty finger (some times whole hand) prints on my door sill, seat etc. My steering wheel is filthy - sticky with grease/brake dust - when I come home I have to get out the cleaner and wipe everything down - then go wash the black grime off my hands. What set me off to write this review is I just noticed how filthy the stitching is on my side vs the passenger side (and no, it wasn't there before I went to Midas). The floor mats are often oil/brake dust stained despite the so-called carpet protectors that are (sometimes) used. I also notice that my rims are also left filthy - finger prints over nice alloys - clearly the wheels are just thrown back on without anyone bothering to wipe them down - just how long would it take - a minute or two? Leaving a vehicle in such a mess is unacceptable and I wonder why I continue to return. Will likely go to my regular mechanic who is nearby to get work done in future, despite modestly higher costs. And last time I was there, I found ~10 miles on my odometer - obviously used for a joy ride (it is a nice late model import SUV) - way more mileage than is needed to "check the brakes". Bottom line - you get what you pay for - you get cut rate prices (at least vs dealer prices) for cut rate service. First couple of times I "overlooked" the mess, but I can't continue to overlook it any longer. This Midas shop needs to shape up. read more

She and her co workers went above and beyond in helping me switch out the flat tire for my spare and never tried to coax me into buying anything I did not need. Took my car in for a WAY overdue oil change. They had my oil changed in 30 minutes flat. I was only charged $19.99 and I didn't even have the coupon everyone has mentioned here on Yelp. They also did an assessment of the rest of my car and found I have some other stuff to be worked on but not once did they pressure me in to getting these services done that day or even with them. Our family has been taking our cars here for a few years now. There customer service is great and going to a mechanic is always a pain cause you are really at the mercy of them to make sure they are doing the right thing and not going to rip you off. I usually always call for a second opinion before I am going to make a big decision to fix something on my car. They usually are cheaper if not about the same as other business. There customer service is great as well, that is why we all keep going back. I have never had a problem here and Rick, the manager does a great job running the place. read more

Just picked up my car today from getting two new hoses and a heater core. Been going to this place for over a year now. I really like the entire staff. Very knowledgable, kind, and patient; willing to answer all my questions. April is the manager who has been there for a little while and recently was promoted. She is fun, honest and goes out of her way for customers. She promised me my car by noon today and it was done - she worked on it on her day off yesterday to make that possible so I could get to work and not cancel more appointments. I trust this garage and can honestly say they have told me when I didn't need to do something and they try to give me a heads up on what to expect in the future with my 2006 Nissan. For many years I've utilized Midas Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA for minor to major repairs and have been very pleased with their services to the point of highly recommending them (numerous times) to family and friends. Since the new ownership; "customer service" has gone down SEVERELY! And, the office manager plus mechanics have an extreme lack of mechanical knowledge to the point one would question their abilities to work on vehicles. Do not come here for tires!!These guys are cons when it comes to tires all they want to do is sell and not give you the benefit or guarantee of what they are selling to the consumer. I came in after getting a flat tire and my intentions where to get a quote on one tire thinking that I would get a good deal and thinking they would have good prices on lesser know brands or at least give recommendations on certain brands. I was wrong!! before they gave me a quote they gave me the price of the tire which originally started at 69$ + tax. But what they didn't tell me about was all the fees they added for installing one tire on one rim. once they start installing the tire on my rim and tell me that all together it was 99$ for one freaking tire. 73$ for a tire with a brand I have never seen or heard of, 16$ for installation on the rim because my car was parked at a gas station, and a disposal fee. I was disappointed and before I could change my mind the guy in the front desk said he could do nothing about it, no coupon, no sale special no proper information on the brand just a half assed response with probably a made up comparison to that of a well known brand, the condescending statement he made up of a comparison between his establishment and lesser valued tire shops in the contract Costa region (shops in the same region that most likely have better customer service, better pricing and product information.) .Its unfair and unprofessional it's so bad that I am never going to this location for service or tires ever again and I will not recommend or reffer anyone to this specific location. read more

I made an appointment thinking that I would get quicker service. Nope, waited 50 minutes until they brought my car in the service bay. A woman drove in 5 minutes after that and her car was in the service bay within 5 minutes. My oil change and free tire rotation was done in 30 minutes. Her car's same service was completed 5 minutes later. Why make an appointment if that doesn't get you priority service? 3 other vehicles were put in the service bays to be worked on before mine, and there was no one waiting for them. I also asked them to check my air and cabin filters. I had looked at them about a week ago and they were filthy, it's been almost a year since they were changed, and with all the recent fires, they desperately needed changing. When I asked the office guy if they checked the filters he said they were fine. On top of that I went to get in my 2012 Honda Accord, and the cloth seat cover was filthy! Black grease from one of the workers pants that obviously wasn't concerned with the cleanliness of my car. Matching black, greasy boot scuffs on the doorjamb, and a dirty black steering wheel!! Apparently the only clean worker there, the office boy, didn't think it was his job to move the cars to be worked on, but it's ok for the greasy mechanics to do so. What a joke! If you want your vehicle worked on at this place, good luck! I'll never go back. read more

This midas always treats me good and recommends work that should be done to your car instead of forcing the work on you. I've taking my car there for a fan clutch replacement and when my heater hoses blew out. Both of these times I drove my car right there and they had the job done the same day. These guys went above and beyond the call of duty for me and I wholeheartedly recommend them! I had my brakes done here on our VW Touareg and since it's a 4x4, the job was going to be a biggie, I did some investigating and found out that their prices were quite competitive. I also heard good things about Midas so I figured I was in good hands. Had my brakes done, all good and the squeak went away. 2 weeks later, I brought the same truck to the VW dealer for a 30k mile service and they came back saying that my brakes had about half their original life left! I explained to them that I just had the brakes done and asked them to recheck. They did and told me the brakes only had 6-7mm left (new ones are about 10-11mm). Naturally, I brought my truck to Midas thinking I had received different brakes. They assured me that they used the EXACT brakes the dealer would use and they spent ONE HOUR with me - taking the tires off, pulling out each brake and measuring each of them in front of me, showing me exactly that the brakes were about 9 to 10 mm, not 6-7! I can't believe that the owner and 2 other technicians worked on my car to ensure that I was satisfied with the results of the investigation. Now that's service and people that stand behind what they do! I will no longer go to the local VW dealer and will bring all my business to this Midas! read more

So, I made an appointment for work, arrived promptly, gave them plenty of time, came back to find out they "didn't have time" to complete the job. (Which means, people that drove in without appts. got first service). Not only that, they parked my car over by the dirt hill with all the windows open and the car was full of dust. It's so crazy, I could have had a dozen other places do this work and be in and out with zero drama. Man, taking care of return customers is simple not on their radar...good luck. read more
