Update! Horrible service. Very deceiving. Kelly the manager, just tried charging me about 20$ more that what I am used to being charged. I told her to check the account and see how much they had charged me in the past. She said they were generous with me and that she wouldn't be. Needless to say I will never recommend this place and I will take my business else where. KELLY has no customer service skills whatsoever. I went in to have a slow leaking tire repaired. When he did the initial inspection he told me that it would be better if I just replaced all four of my tires because they weren't in good condition. I told him I could not afford to buy new tires right now. He then told me that I could finance them with Midas and that I really needed new tires. A real pressure sell. I reiterated that I just wanted the one tire repaired. I left my car there and two hours later I got a call telling me that by law they could not repair my tire because the tread was too low, but they could sell me new tires. When I came to pick my car up he told me he was just trying to prevent me having a blowout...scare tactics. I drove from there to another tire place where they came out to inspect my tires, pointed out the nail that was causing the leak and took out a tool they used to measure my tread and then repaired it. They did not suggest I buy new tires but when I asked about it they told me I definitely have another six months at least. It was despicable that the Midas employee tried to manipulate me into buying tires before I actually needed them. How can you just a business that uses this kind of tactics? read more

I am disappointed in you. I brought my 2002 Nissan Quest to you because you always did good work changing my oil at reasonable price and quickly. So I wanted to use you to change my oil pan because you said you could do it in one day for $599 parts and labor. It took three days and the cost was $745.00, but that isn't what upsets me. When I drove my car off your lot, the engine light came on and stays on. You said it was the oxygen sensors and you told me they were no where near the oil pan. When I checked the 2 sensors are within a few inches of the oil pan. Before coming to you I put $2,200 at Team Nissan in Oxnard to work on the engine, which they said it was now like new. Clearly someone isn't telling the truth. You only care about your franchise and not your customers. read more

I brought my BMW in for a radiator replacement and I am extremely happy with my experience. I was greeted by Marco as soon as I walked in the door, he is very knowledgeable and makes sure that you are looked after with care. Not only did he makes sure my car was handled with care, but Marco also made sure all my questions were answered and also made sure that I was satisfied. The staff is honest and professional. Went here for an oil change and they are a complete scam. I asked for a regular oil change(conventional) and they tried to tell me I needed a high mileage oil change (for more money) instead. I asked again if I could just have a conventional oil change and they said no, they were "out of conventional oil". A place that specializes in oil changes being out of oil midday on a Tuesday? Today's service was fantastic! Marco was able to get my car in same day on short notice to fully service my vehicle- new windshield blades, oil change, brake check, and tire rotation. My car needed more work than anticipated (we had just returned from a 4,000 mile roadtrip so not surprised!) and the guys in house called me to check in before moving forward. My boyfriend and I were driving on the freeway when his tire pressure light came out and the closest tire shop to us was Midas. Marco came out to help us, checked the tire pressure, added some windshield wiper fluid to the car, and didn't charge us for it even after we offered to. Don't bother thinking the "lifetime warranty" on a muffler will save you anything. I have one. They still wanted $750 to replace it. They were polite and courteous but almost seemed like they were charging me a penalty for having a warranty. Avoid this place for muffler work. Dont go to Midas on Main St, Ventura! My experience was criminal! Went in for a simple wiper arm repair, and the tech who claimed to be the owner (Marco) stole my good blades, replaced them with blades of poor quality and 4" too small (as if i wouldnt notice), and then denied it when confronted. He also charged me over $300 labor for an hour of labor for that simple job, which i had to have redone elsewhere because he did a horrible job on the repair and at that point i wasnt going to trust him to re-do it. It was a fight, but in the end Visa gave him a chargeback and i got my money back. Thieves and liars! read more

This place is worthless. ZERO stars. The employees are incompetent and change the prices after they get you in the door. I called them to find a quote on tires. They gave me a quote for 79.99 a tire × 4. I knew that was cheap so I inquired if that included balance and installation. Of course not. So no problem. I got a quote over the phone for 429 out the door with alignment balance and installation. I made an appointment. I showed up for my appointment and they said they didn't have the tires any more and I had to get different ones for a total bill of $150 over the quoted price. This is not my first time problem with them. I sent my wife's car for a tune up and the prices kept changing. They wanted over a $1000 for the problems. So I just got an oil change. I shopped around and got all the work they wanted to do plus more for under half the price. And the mechanic thinks they didn't even do the oil change This place is a RIP off. Do not go. This place is pulled a credit scam on me. They charged my $300 for supposedly changing my oil flushing and replacing the coolant in my radiator claimed they fixed the heating and cooling charged $40 for basic wiper blades and $45 for cleaning the air filter. The manager is very corrupt and lies about everything. I had to take my car to another shop to fix the problems they caused. The auto technician showed me how the rigged up a pipe rather than replace it. They drained my radiator full of good coolant and filled it with water charging me $149 for the fake service. They need to be reported to the better business bureau and law enforcement for fraudulent practices. Please avoid these scammers. read more

We had gone to Midas around the 19th of June, 2020 and they told us we need an appointment for the oil change. OK. "Come back on July 3 at 9 a.m." OK. We go there at 9:00 a.m. and they said "Did we call you for confirmation?" They NEVER mentioned that when we were there the FIRST time. Another wasted trip. I went in to Midas today because i noticed that my cadi was making a weird noise and I had no idea where it was coming from. As soon as i walked in to the door I was greeted by Marco in a kind and friendly manner , he made me feel really comfortable being there. It only took them 10 min. to put my car up on the rack and figure out what the problem was, turns out my muffler was hanging and it needed to be welded. he also pointed out that i had a small oil leak and recommended that I would get it fixed before the problem got worse. I gave him the green light to do any fixes that needed to be made and I was out of there in an hour and half. Marco also gave me an amazing deal and now my car is running better than ever. As long as Midas is in town and Marco is running it I will not take my car anywhere else. read more

NEVER EVER going back. I am a woman and I hardly EVER take my car to someone I don't know especially to do something as simple as an oil change, since I usually do them myself unless I'm under a time crunch. Well I took it in to Midas for a change and rotation, got home and realized they didn't even do a rotation. Then recently I crawled under my car to change my own oil like I usually do and who ever it was that did it last time there obviously didn't know how to tighten the drain plug right. Thanks to them I had to not only get a new plug but when I tried to take off the old one I broke 2 socket extenders and a socket itself which caused the plug to get stripped. So thank you for making sure your staff is not well educated and an even bigger thanks for making me spend more money to fix the problem. read more

A car repair shop is like a black box. It is unlikely that you will sit and watch what is done to your car. It isn't even really safe to hang out in a car shop and eyeball the mechanics as they work on your car. But that is what you need to do at Ventura Midas. Trusting these folks to do honest work on real problems has put me in a world of trouble. They are virtually denying having screwed up systems in my car for which I have bills from them for repair. Mistakes, understandable. Possibly ok if you're willing to fix what you've messed up. Outright lies and incompetence?, not ok. They couldn't figure out how to make the muffler work that for some reason blew out twice. This is their specialty though right? So they launched into repairs on a sequence of other "problems" that did not seem to have been there before. This shop made mistakes on my car they could not fix, hid their incompetence with claims that I needed additional repairs on things that had not previously been broken, lied about what was really going on, and ultimately sent it to an outside mechanic to repair their errors. And somehow I have to pay for all this. It would be simple for them to take responsibility for what they did to my car, but apparently that's bad business. read more

Normally I do my own work on my vehicles but I was lacking a tool and could not find it anywhere locally and needed my brakes done right away. Had the new pads with me and stopped in to see if these guys had the tool I needed and if they could just put them on real fast. Not only did they do the work I needed fast but They provided me with the part number for the tool I needed so I could buy it quickly for the future. Changed my oil and barely put the cap back on, I noticed something fly off and ding my car on the freeway. Got to my destination and noticed my oil drained all over the bottom of my car and the engine may have seized if I hadn't noticed, bought more oil and a new cap. read more

My car had two issues that I told them about. Making noise and hesitating. They fixed the noise but at the end of the day I was about to drive away and noticed that the check engine light was still on. They had noted it, but nobody ever hooked it up to the computer until I asked about it. It had a cylinder misfire that I will now be fixing myself. They were extremely nice though, but not checking the computer especially when they already noticed that the light was on seemed like a rookie mistake to me. read more

Please be careful coming to this location or even considering it. We took a vehicle in to have it "looked at" Aside from the price of just "looking at it" at 900 bucks, the supervisor wanted the money in "CASH". The transaction was handled "Shady" to me because we asked to pay with a credit card, but he kept insisting cash. Another thing is the staff is extremely pushy and when you ask for something they dismiss the request and basically tell you what they are going to do. If you DO go there, make sure you SIGN everything and read each document. The documents we were given to sign, were never copied and/or returned to us. It all seems like some odd scam. I am not writing this out of spite, but instead just to warn others, .. search for other repair centers in the area instead. My daughter and I recently dropped her car off at this location for brakes and oil change. The gentlemen working up front said he would call with an estimate which he did. He made my daughter so uncomfortable she had to hang up and asked if I would call. I usually do the work on her car myself but did not have time. So I call back, after insulting my intelligence for a few minutes I asked if I could just get a breakdown on how much was parts and how much was labor. He said he could not tell me as it was a package deal. I then asked when I get my receipt how much will it say next to labor. He again said he could not break it down. We had to let them do the work as we had no choice. When I went to pick up the car right on receipt is listed how much for parts and how much for labor. What a scammer!!!!!!! I'm very upset and disappointed with this store on ( MIDAS AUTO SERVICE EXPERTS, 3949 East Main Street, Ventura, CA, 93003) and people who work there do not have a clue what they were doing, the person started working on my car even before the owner told me about the cost of everything, they replaced brand new radiator that had been replaced 6 month ago, overcharged me with service for replacing most expensive radiator, after replacing radiator my A/C stop working in my car, I came back next day, the owner refused to fix it A/C in my car , because he said that my A/C was broken before, which it was working fine before I brought my car to the store. He was talking to me disrespectfully and very rude. I walked out in tears, and hopeless, that the owner took advantage of me not knowing about the cars. read more
