My car had two issues that I told them about. Making noise and hesitating. They fixed the noise but at the end of the day I was about to drive away and noticed that the check engine light was still on. They had noted it, but nobody ever hooked it up to the computer until I asked about it. It had a cylinder misfire that I will now be fixing myself. They were extremely nice though, but not checking the computer especially when they already noticed that the light was on seemed like a rookie mistake to me. read more

Please be careful coming to this location or even considering it. We took a vehicle in to have it "looked at" Aside from the price of just "looking at it" at 900 bucks, the supervisor wanted the money in "CASH". The transaction was handled "Shady" to me because we asked to pay with a credit card, but he kept insisting cash. Another thing is the staff is extremely pushy and when you ask for something they dismiss the request and basically tell you what they are going to do. If you DO go there, make sure you SIGN everything and read each document. The documents we were given to sign, were never copied and/or returned to us. It all seems like some odd scam. I am not writing this out of spite, but instead just to warn others, .. search for other repair centers in the area instead. My daughter and I recently dropped her car off at this location for brakes and oil change. The gentlemen working up front said he would call with an estimate which he did. He made my daughter so uncomfortable she had to hang up and asked if I would call. I usually do the work on her car myself but did not have time. So I call back, after insulting my intelligence for a few minutes I asked if I could just get a breakdown on how much was parts and how much was labor. He said he could not tell me as it was a package deal. I then asked when I get my receipt how much will it say next to labor. He again said he could not break it down. We had to let them do the work as we had no choice. When I went to pick up the car right on receipt is listed how much for parts and how much for labor. What a scammer!!!!!!! I'm very upset and disappointed with this store on ( MIDAS AUTO SERVICE EXPERTS, 3949 East Main Street, Ventura, CA, 93003) and people who work there do not have a clue what they were doing, the person started working on my car even before the owner told me about the cost of everything, they replaced brand new radiator that had been replaced 6 month ago, overcharged me with service for replacing most expensive radiator, after replacing radiator my A/C stop working in my car, I came back next day, the owner refused to fix it A/C in my car , because he said that my A/C was broken before, which it was working fine before I brought my car to the store. AVOID AT ALL COST!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I so wish Yelp would let you do 0 start reviews because this is how bad of an experience it was. The manager, yes, the manager refused to do an oil change because he " did not have anyone available to do it." Additionally, he stated that, "it is not worth it for them to do oil changes with a coupon since that does not generate money for them." I'm still in shock and awe about the answer I got. I just cannot believe it. The manager name is Marco. I called Midas's customer service relations only to be transferred to the store manager, long and behold who is it? Marco again. I was not able to get any words back and he just repeatably said, "i'll call you back, i'll call you back. " Marco straight up hung up and did not give a damn about his customers. Marcos went above and beyond for me today. I've had a really bad couple of days and I happened to get a flat tire right in front of their shop! I was already trying to keep it together and trying not to let my emotions get the best of me. I am a mother to a toddler and I work full time, and go to college full time. Right now at this moment I could not afford new tires. Without getting into detail Marcos and his team jumped into action and gave me 2 FREE new used tires!!! Took every part of me not to cry as I was so absolutely grateful! I definitely recommend this company. They care and are not money hungry and show compassion. They truly care about their customers. Took our car to put the serpentine belt on because it kept coming off, they said they fixed it. Came off a couple days later & took it back, they put it back on. Ended up having to do this 3 more times because it kept coming off & every time was a different reason why. The last time I took it back once I got home my car started smoking like crazy & ended up dying in my carport. Called midas & was told they did not do anything & was told I was just trying to get service for free. I ended up towing my car to pepboys & was told the belt wasn't on put on right, that they rigged it, & it was WAY too tight. Ended up having to call the beaura of automotives because midas said they would not fix it, saying it wasn't their fault. Was told by the beaura that midas said they would fix it if it was their fault, showed them paperwork from pepboys & we took it back to midas. Went to get my car oil changed today and asked for them to check my A/C. I was helped by the owner Marcos he owns the one in Ventura. I felt I was mislead by him, I feel like he takes advantage of women. He wanted to charge me almost $400.00 to fix my A/C. He charged me $60.00 for a diagnostic check and when I asked him for the read out he said there is no such thing. (Guys you'll know if this is true) I said what am I supposed to show another mechanic to prove there was a diagnostic done he said my receipt was good. I feel Marcos charged me for a diagnostic he never performed and wanted to charge me an extremely high amount to fix my A/C. He said that I needed to change out my hi and low censor and get new Freon. You decide if what he said was fair, with no proof. Take my advice stay away from this place. I paid because I feel people like this aren't worth the stress, but I will be checking on reviews from now on. Went in today to get a tire fixed (nail in tire, slow leak) I was greeted immediately by two staff members behind the counter. They went to the car right away and verified the issue. They did not charge me anything for doing it and were very friendly and clear about what they did. The waiting room/register area was extremely clean and well kept as well as what I could see inside the garage. I know it's a car garage but it makes me feel good knowing it's a clean, well organized shop. At the end of the day, it's got a great staff who are organized, assertive, and friendly. I know just enough to be dangerous, but I know what's good and bad and these guys did right. They took the time to show me what's going on and recommended service. Reading some of the negative reviews and I'm shocked! My brakes and rotors were worn completely down. I went to a few other places but was never satisfied with customer service, I called and Marcos got me in same day fixed my brakes rotors and did an oil change. This was the only shop that took me out to my car and showed me what it looked like and educated me. That's the customer service I appreciate! He worked with me financially, and they also offer financing which is a great help if you need it! I would definitely recommend them and come back for any car service! I went to this guy to have my cat converter fixed, Which he did not do. Instead he replaced my tail pipes. I had just had my regular mechanic do my brakes but he took it upon himself to replace my whole brake system-which are now leaking n nearly caused me to wreck. When I got my truck back my seat was broken. Not to mention my cat converter is still out. All to the tune of 4500 bucks. Later on my friend also went to this guy who was completely predictory on my 68 year old friend n charged her 3500 for minimal work including 50. Dollars for a ten dollar gas cap that did not need to be replaced. I have reported him to the better business bureau. So caution do not go to this shark who preys on the elderly n held my truck and forced me to pay it before releasing my truck. Beware read more

We asked Marcos if we can save our free alignment until we put on our new control arms. He said he will do it twice, he wanted to make sure our alignment was good with the brand new tires. Before stopping here we went to Big brand tires. They were over charging for tires and once I said I can get a better deal at Sams club they wanted to work a deal with me. Went in today to get their maintenance package: lube, Oil, Filter, and tire rotation. Also comes with the standard "courtesy" check that you get from every oil change place. I must say, for 17.95, this was an exceptional bargain and I highly recommend this place. I usually change my own oil but I just couldn't ignore the big yellow 17.95 sign that they put on on the street. I mean, I spend around 17 bucks just on buying my own oil/filter and changing it myself so I figured I'd give this place a try. Can't say enough good things about the courtesy there and the great/timely service. They told me it'd take an hour, and that's exactly how long it took. If you go early in the day, you can probably get it done in less than 30 minutes, I happened to go when there were several cars in front of mine. Servicemen here seem pretty trustworthy and treat customers with respect (instead of trying to upsell every service like other places). From what I've been told, this place has gone through a change in ownership/management because the prior owners/managers seemed to really piss off a lot of customers. Not a hint of that exists here now and the new guys really seem to be trying to change the image of this place. If you need an oil change, this place rocks. I haven't done any of their other services yet so I don't know about those. read more

I would rate this shop a ZERO! Worst experience ever! Brought my car to this shop for a certain "issue". Got charged $2,295.89. Paid it and took car home but same "issue" was not fixed so i sent it back to shop again, told them same "issue" was not fixed. Got charged $860, paid it and took car , while driving home, I noticed that the same"issue" was still not fixed. I called the manager (he said his name is Mark) to discuss the situation, Instead he laughed at me while I was talking and told me I don't know anything about what's going on, and I have to take the car back so they can take a look and said "maybe the parts we put is not working well". He was vey unprofessional and impolite. This shop is not honest and their workers are incompetent! Brought my car to another shop here in Ventura and fixed the "issue" for only $199.00, and fast!!
