My suburban was in and out of their shop for over a year. They told me I needed a new crankcase in addition to the transmission repair they had done earlier. It did not fix the problem. They replaced the transmission again. While in their possession, they had a subcontractor who did their transmissions. While with the subcontractor, there was a citation issued for running a red light. I paid the ticket. Midas refuses to reimburse me as they contend I did not need to pay it and they were not driving. The car still had issues with transmission even though they had it for over a year with multiple subcontractors. I ultimately took it elsewhere and had it fixed properly. I can't say enough good things about the team at Midas on 29230 Tomball Parkway! I came in after another service station told me I needed new brakes, and another Midas said my brakes pad (under warranty) were fine. The Tomball crew quickly confirmed that my pads did, in fact, need to be replaced, as they had started to create grooves in the rotors. They explained everything clearly, showed me the parts, and gave me an amazing deal on the repairs. Everyone was friendly, honest, and professional -- I never felt pressured, just well taken care of. Got an oil change at Midas and was overcharged for an extra quart my car doesn't need. Hours later, I discovered massive oil leaks at home, at work, and had to leave my car stranded overnight. My 18 year old friend was manipulated into repairs not needed on her vehicle. Parts were replaced without her consent and they required payment regardless. The bill went from a front alignment to $3,500 of non-critical repairs. When pleading with the manager, he got defensive and incredibly rude. They do not live by their mission statement and they take advantage of people who do not know mechanics. The repair they did could've been done by $1500 from multiple different shops that I'm connected to. when I walked out of the room, they told us to suck a dick. I stayed calm, he escalated it. I did not use harsh language, or raised voice tones, and he escalated the situation and became incredibly defensive to an unhealthy level. I brought in my truck, told them exactly what I wanted. Then Joe at the counter proceeded to argue/sell me a diagnosis. Turns out I had to pay for the diagnosis even though it was exactly what I told them it was. Had Joe not been so full of himself and pushed the diagnosis I wouldn't be sore. If they had had found something different, I would expect to pay, but the fact that they found exactly what I told them the problem was, they should not have charged me. I have a service business and if it m wrong about the core problem, I don't charge the customer for my mistake. I'll never go there again or recommend them. I'm only giving 2 stars because the guy at the counter was friendly and engaging. Otherwise, they took longer than expected when I told him from the start that I was in a time crunch when I came in for my appointment at 9:00. It didn't matter to them since they had no respect for my schedule and of course, did the upselling to add on more services for extra money. I felt like I wasn't listened to when I kept repeating that I needed to leave and would return another day for whatever else needed done and he acted like it couldn't wait with no disregard for my concerns. It was so disrespectful demonstrating low quality customer service. Additionally, aside from over-extending my time, they disengaged my stereo equipment hookup in which the backup camera wasn't coming on nor could I get my GPS dashboard to work. Midas installed the wrong oil plug, the car leaked 2.5 quarts on my garage floor in a three day period after they did the oil change. Midas has done the last few years of oil changes. 39,000 miles on this vehicle. Troy Zenon, would not consent to train his technician relating to doing quality control on the installation of the oil plug. The oil plug they inserted was a plug with a metal gasket. The OEM part has a rubber gasket built into the oil plug. The metal gasket looked great and had no issues or flaws on the metal gasket. The technician either lost the OEM part, or deemed that the oil plug needed to be replaced without telling the customer, and replaced the oil plug with a metal gasket which is not recommended by Ford for the F150 V8 5.0 liter engine. Troy Zenon, store manager, is more concerned with generating revenue than keeping customers. To reject training his technician is further negligence to quality control. A business that does not continue to train quality control measures is a business that can't be trusted. This could have stranded me on the side of the road and caused serious engine damage. read more

These guys are incompetent. I have been to this location twice. I originally came in for an alignment and an oil change. After telling me it would take an hour, an hour went by and they didn't even have my car in the shop. Than they got in in for the alignment, and it took another hour and a half. Than they test drove it, and pulled in back in to the shop. Another half hour. I finally got my car back and the steering wheel was off center. A few months later my wife took her car in, a Mazda CX-5. Just a simple tire rotation and oil change. She got in her car and the tire light was on. They told her she needed to drive the car for light to reset , which wasn't true. She drove the car, the light did not reset of course. She called the shop. THEY TOLD HER TO TAKE THE CAR TO DISCOUNT TIRE TO CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE. If you are too lazy to properly check tire pressure or look up how to reset a light, than you do not belong in the automotive industry. She brought the car home. I pressed the tire sensor reset light. IT IS ON THE DASHBOARD. The light went out. read more

I called asking if they could replace motor mount on a Mercedes GLK, was told by Troy they could and I made appointment. When I took car In they were busy and was told by James they would have to wait for parts to arrive. I asked could they drop me home instead of waiting, James said he could do it but he would have to use my car and then return back to shop. I told him that was not acceptable since I live in Spring but he could take me to closest Starbucks while they finish car. He said he would have car finished by 3, this was at 1100 am. I didn't think it would take til 4 to complete the job. When he picked me up at 430 my car was still not ready. I was there another hour and half til 6pm. Then I asked for an update and they said they were almost done. Finally after 6, I headed home and got into my neighborhood and turned a corner and then the battery light came on, the steering wheel locked, causing me to have to get a tow truck to return back out there as car was undriivable. I'm extremely upset as they disconnected the alternator and caused me to spend unnecessary time repairing the car a second day, that I didn't have. Not to mention they charged me over 1000.00. And I had car towed back to the shop. This mistake could have caused me an accident had I been on a highway driving it home. I hate I didn't take it to the dealership now! I also missed a very important meeting dealing with Midas in Tomball on the following day. I would think twice the next time coming to this shop! Horrible customer service. I just wanted a simple oil change. I instead wasted an hour and got accused of blackmail. I definitely DO NOT recommend this place. I bought a Groupon voucher for a synthetic blend oil change. When my wife got there, the rep (who I found out later was actually the manager) marked the Groupon as redeemed first, THEN inspected her car and realized they didn't carry the correct oil for the vehicle (2011 Honda Accord). The only option she gave my wife was upgrading to full synthetic (which doubled the cost). We didn't want to do that, but since the manager had already marked the Groupon as redeemed we couldn't get our money back or exchange it for a different Groupon. Instead of offering to make it right, by either refunding the value of the Groupon ($20), or the full synthetic oil at the cost of blend; the manager instead said that we should contact Groupon to correct HER mistake. Anyway, I called the business after my wife got back. I got the same lady my wife got (the manager), and tried to get her to fix the error instead of making us attempt to get it from Groupon. After 25 minutes of waiting on hold (presumably so she could talk with the owner), she then proceeded to accuse me of blackmail (apparently saying you're going to write a review for a bad experience is blackmail now). She then said the only thing they would do is put in a thicker synthetic blend oil in the car, and only after I had signed some kind of waiver. read more

I normally go to the Midas in Katy because they're great, but my brakes started making noise while I was in the Tomball area. I know all Midas are franchises and individually owned so I gave this one a try. The showroom was nice and clean, looked more modern then the typical mechanic shop. The sales person was very nice and the tech inspected my car quickly. The price was very competitive and the products were high quality. I left with new brakes all the way around and I feel much more safe!!! read more

If you are needing work on your vehicle avoid this Midas in Tomball. I found the manager Troy to be very unprofessional. When asking for clarification on pricing concerning a special they were running he was condescending and pompous. On top of that, they routinely remove air filters when having an oil change done in the hopes for an upsell replacement. I declined. Once the oil change was competed and i was on my way my entire glovebox fell out of place leaving my belongings scattered on the car floor. They had only installed one of the glove box locks, the other was thrown inside the glove box. Not only that, but they also decided to not put the cabin air filter cover back on after removing it. Is that what they consider the Midas touch? I don't have many items in the glove box, anyone could have seen the cover was not properly replaced but instead thinside along with the other glove box lock. If you think this was an honest mistake you would be wrong. I would think twice about visiting this location. Terrible customer service won't ever be back. read more
