The worst midas I have been to by far. Took my Lexus here to get new break pads and that's all I needed but they insisted that I needed new rotor. I knew for a fact that I didn't need them because I was at my Lexus dealer the previous week and they checked them and told me they were fine. My car is almost brand new so there are minimal issues that need to be taken care of. The employees were rude and insisted they were correct when I provided paperwork to show them they were incorrect. Please spend the extra money and take your car to your dealer. Definitely worth the extra money knowing the job will be done the right way without problems. read more

Well, this is really called SpeeDee Oil Change, but it is right next door to Midas and Midas owns this business as well. I had no problem using my $5 off coupon which I got directly from the website. An oil change is $35 normally at this establishment. Front counter guy was nice enough and they did check my tires tread which is unusual for an oil change place. Lucky for me they did because I had no tread on several tires. They don't have tires there and I don't trust that kind of place to do tires, so I went across the street to get those tires. My issue was that they said I should have a coolant flush and the liquid was murky and this needed to done asap. I have had other quick oil change places lie to me and so did SpeeDee because the dudes across the street said my coolant was fine. They also left the underside very oily because across the street, my car was up and i could see underneath. Just ignore their suggestions and stick to getting an oil change, but won't be returning either way, although they did probably save my life from a possible tire blowout. Kudos for that. read more

Had a groupon for oil change/tire rotation....after being told my car was ready i checked out and then i checked my tires and the rotation was not done...went back in was told car did not need it but if I really wanted they could do it...I told them I paid for it and was told it would be "redundant"....(last rotation was 7k miles ago)......told them no thanks and then went to Discount Tire and got them rotated......filed complaint with groupon....do not go here! read more

After 4 days of getting the run-around from multiple 'managers' I was told the part that was ordered did not come in, and that it would be another 3 days wait. My car is no longer drivable due largely to the repeated mishandling of the idler pulley replacement. I have requested a refund in full and will be taking my vehicle to another service. I don't think I can say anything about the amazing service I experienced here that hasn't already been stated in the countless 5-star reviews posted before mine. I have used Yelp simply as a lurker for quite a while now but, as you can see, the service I received during my visit today was so great it moved me to come here and post my very first review. There was only about an hour before they were due to close and Jason not only agreed to squeeze me in at the last minute, he ended up staying late to help me out and with a smile on his face the entire time. Because of the awesome service I received from Jason and his obvious commitment to providing as much help as possible, they have just earned another well-deserved customer for life. If I could give negative stars, I would and here's why.... I took my truck into Midas today for a front and back alignment with a Groupon. Based on reviews on both Yelp and Groupon I felt confident with this. When I made the appointment I Spoke with Lisa and she was super helpful. I was fortunate enough to speak with her this morning when I dropped off my vehicle and it was pleasant. Needless to say, I felt a lot of confidence leaving my truck there for something so simple. Boy was I wrong. I picked up my vehicle this afternoon, paid with Lisa who had nothing negative to say about to work done today, jumped in my truck and headed home. Halfway home I made a left turn and my wheel and steering wheel were both shaking and there was an obvious scratching and knocking coming from under my truck. I hadn't felt that before and it was pretty bad so I pulled into Pep Boys since it was on my way home. (Mind you, my truck is almost at 200k miles, so I'm used to a couple knocks and noises) I simply went inside and just asked them to take a look at the job I just had done to be on the safe side. The mechanic immediately showed discontent and informed me that one of the bolts was about to come out entirely and that my rack would shift causing me to lose control of my steering, and that they couldn't let me leave there with it like that. Usually I don't buy into that because they are typically sales motivated, and as a female I experience men at Auto shops trying to add things to my bill endlessly assuming I'm clueless. I laughed seeing as how it was hard to believe...SINCE I JUST LEFT AN AUTO SHOP AND NOTHING WAS MENTIONED. So they showed me. There was obvious fresh wrench marks on the bolt and no reason they should have been there for an alignment. The bolt was barely hanging in. Also, given that the rack was shifted how it was, my truck was not aligned. Which is what I paid for. Luckily the guys at Pep Boys fixed it for me and did a real alignment. FREE OF CHARGE!! They also wrote up a report on my truck and their findings so I can take it back to Midas and prove that not only was an alignment not done, but they could've caused more damage by screwing around with random things. I'll be headed there tomorrow to get my money back with that report and the pictures I took! Can't say why the bolt was loosened for an Alignment. If they needed to do something additional I should've been notified and it should've been done properly. Next time I'll just head to Pep Boys! Hope this isn't how Midas brings back customers! read more

These guys are big cheater.. When you go for oil change they always tell you some problem. and you will end up paying $100 -$200 approx. If you go to other dealer or jiffy lube for oil change they won't tell you any problem untill or unless it's major or genuine. I would recommend not to go here if at all going just do whatever you went for or get the estimate you will save up to 50% from outside or other local shop I end up paying $335 for brake and rotor change for 2007 carolla later on my friend told he did same last month in his car @$180 from some other shop. on that day I endup paying $432 to midas for oil + brake/rotor change. If I would have taken second opinion or waited for day or two I would have saved 50% amount. I do see not only me many other people has posted same review. I would recommend the shop to all my family and friends! I had a wonderful experience at this location and the manager Lisa was an absolute ray of sunshine. It's nice to have a female in charge at an auto shop I really felt like I didn't get taken advantage of at all and she actually recommended services in the future and told me things that I didn't need on my car at this point in time. Check quotes on both labor and parts - They charge 3 times over MSRP. Here's my story: Towed in for misfire. Diagnosed as coil 4. Replaced coil 4 - $754. Advised, "car is fixed". Drove it down the road, still misfired. Returned to Midas. Replaced all spark plugs. $812. Advised "car is fixed". Took it back few days later - still misfiring. Final result - hairline fracture in sparkplug - a sparkplug they put in. $1500+ for a spark plug. Refused to refund even a portion. Escalated complaint to Corporate Midas twice, no response. Filed with AZ Corp Commission. After 2 years of being a loyal Midas 90th Street customer, this is how I'm treated. Awful. Check the prices of coils and sparkplugs online - their coils are $153, MSRP is $51. They told me "well, at least now you have a tune up, and you wont need another for 100k miles." I didn't want a tune up. The sparkplugs and coils you threw out were good for another 30k miles. What a farce! read more

This Midas location is amazing! Lisa went above and beyond to help me each and every time I have been there. Not only did they have great pricing but they were very informative and fast. I had a flat tire on the way to get my alignment and they took care of me. She also referred me to well known tint specialist for another need I had. You can't put a value on being taken care of and being able to trust your local shop. This day an age with all the shops around this one sets itself apart! Don't come here at all. Believe the reviews what other people says. They don't care about your car. All they care how much money they can make of you. My car need the starter and they asked $600 plus $200 changing fee $800 total. I asked the lady the starter is around $200-300 why you guys giving me for $600, and she said "because we order for you". That doesn't make sense at all. Great service all around! I've been here a few times off and on since 2014 and no complaints. Today I submitted a request online for a power steering flush and received a same day appointment! I was in and out in about an hours time. They were able to add in a few filter changes as well when I got there. The dealership would have charged me 300% more for this normal maintenance ($375 pre tax at Land Rover north scottsdale). Lisa, the front desk woman, even gave me a coupon for my visit! This is my second time at this location while trying to find good service since moving up north. While that front staff was friendly the time frames you are given for the service to be completed is poor. I've made appointments both times and even got here 15 minutes early. Both times now the wait time has exceeded 45 minutes to over an hour from what I was told by staff. When I ask how much longer I got the "not to much longer" response and had to press for an estimated time. Please don't tell a customer a time frame that you know is not achievable. Will continue my search for reliable service.... And to make things worse they just told a customer they didn't have to wear a mask in this small waiting room. When I challenged her on this requirement she stated it was not a requirement and that the owner said they dont have to have people wear them. I tried to explain the legal requirement to no avail.. DO NOT buy a Groupon for a fully synthetic oil change and tire rotation here. We did. There is very small print that says "Additional $24.99 for some european cars." SO ... after buying a $49 groupon, we ended up paying an additional $50+, for a total of over $99. Also, tire rotation was never offered -- when we called back and spoke with Andrew, he said even though the Groupon includes tire rotation, they won't do it unless the customer specifically asks. No willingness to make the financial side of this right. NOT a good deal. Could have saved money many other places. Lesson learned: Always read the small print. read more

I came here today for brakes solely because they had a Groupon for it. The overall service was great. The manager Sam thoroughly showed me and explained the pricing and what needed to be fixed. For all of you that have seen their Groupon deal beware- it does not cover labor costs. I ended up paying more than expected BUT it was still cheaper to use it then to go somewhere else and pay full price. I purchased the coupon for all four brake pads and turned out I only needed two, and they actually credited me the remaining amount of money I already spent to go towards other costs on my bill. The time it took to get my brakes done was a lot slower than other places I've been to in the past which is a little inconvenient BUT they made me aware of the delay and I appreciate the customer service. read more

There is new owner. Very honest. I sat waiting for my oil change. The 2 people that were waiting both had issues with there cars. One was an AC compressor that was starting to go and another was a muffler issues. They filled the guys AC with freon for free and said he could probably make to the cooler months and deal with it later. The muffler guy he said was fine for emissions and it was only cosmetic noise issue and see him when it starts to bother him. I got my simple oil change as usually. No air filter upsell like in those other places. New owner is doing a great job. read more

Lost the screws on my air filter box. Didn't tell me... when I called, said they'd need to speak with a manager and call me back. Never called back. Also couldn't even rotate my tires because they said they didn't have the right tools and I'd need to sign a release Incase they broke something. I too was duped by their Groupon scam. I bought a break pad replacement(bought on Groupon and yet has hidden fees in store) and made an appointment. Was told the inspection part would last no longer than 45 minutes. Had a babysitter cancel on me and so I needed to leave. After already having been there for 55 minutes I let them know this and noticed they were just now taking off my wheels for an inspection. At which time I asked the person working there to have them stop and replace the wheels so that I could leave. After he came back in I then asked the same employee why they had even had appointment if the car literally sat on jacks for 50 minutes. Before he can answer the manager interrupted our conversation and even after I asked her to let me continue the conversation, she continued to talk and still defend her actions, ultimately lying and saying I shoved a hand in her face. At which time she then told me I must go outside and wait outside in a 100°+ heat. BUYER BEWARE GROUPON SCAM TO GET YOU IN THE DOOR. read more

Lisa is super friendly, nice, and takes the time to explain what works has been done or needs to be done and why. I don't feel like they're trying to overcharge me or take advantage. Thankfully the new owner, Greg, has turned this place around. After I posted a bad review due to the previous owners unethical work standards Greg reached out to me. He assured me that things are different there and he was telling the truth. Greg has worked very hard to make this an inviting environment and to be an ethical and honest business owner. My daughter recently had a car issue so I took Greg up on his offer to stop by and say hello and be shown that this shop is being run the way it should be. Greg got my daughter in right away and then called to tell me that there was actually nothing wrong with the car. We are planning a return trip to get new tires put on her car.
