I have pretty much made this my go-to location for my car maintenance; I tried to go to another location because it was closer to my house (PepBoys) and they wanted to charge me two times what I would pay at Midas for my oil change! The staff here is always courteous and gives it to you straight instead of trying to scam you into buying things you don't need. After spending $700+ for "Lifetime brakes" I have taken the car back FOUR times because you can hear the screeching a mile away. Every time they tell me there is nothing wrong, CLEARLY THERE IS. They also wanted to CHARGE ME TO CHECK THE, Ummm NO!!!! I always had good luck with them until Lisa took over as manager. And I love all these BS canned responses about How sorry they are about your experience and how "honest and transparent" they are. I call BS and somebody should have them look up the definitions of honest and transparent, completely the opposite of their service. I needed an oil change BADLY, and I was so tired of going to the place I'd been going to for far too long and getting the ol' up-sell spiel. ENOUGH! So, I was looking around for a new, hassle-free place and checked Yelp reviews (ok, not always right, but it's a place to start). I tried out this Midas, and I'm glad I did. Jason was awesome. May 8th, 2018 will be the first anniversary since Midas/SpeeDee of Scottsdale and owner Gregory Scott Milan damaged the transmission of my 2000 Lincoln LS. The past year has brought stress and aggravation, a little shock and awe, and even some humor, albeit dark. We can fast forward past the adding of trans fluid to the engine, the unbelievable mess dumping fluids everywhere, or even the accusations from the owner that I robbed his store as some sort of retaliation for bad service. Instead, let us focus on the fact that they improperly flushed and refilled the transmission, only adding 3.5 of the 9.5 required quarts, resulting in a $2000 rebuild. This may have been avoided had Midas and Gregory Milan taken better steps to ensure a proper execution of services, at greater than subpar levels. After suffering drivability issues the next day, I attempted to reach the owner who refused any assistance or to even look at the car. The owner did offer to reimburse the cost of service, which I sincerely believe was an attempt to relieve his facility from any further liability. I then had the vehicle towed to a transmission repair facility and was informed that the improper service and its operation had caused permanent damage requiring a rebuild. I continued to reach out to Midas and Gregory Milan but following the refund he assumed no responsibility and would no longer respond to calls or emails. I was left with no other choice but to file a lawsuit in small claims court, of which I won, despite the fact Gregory Milan perjured himself under oath. He claimed during court proceedings that he possessed ASE Certifications, of which the ASE organization in response to my inquiry stated, "...they have no records for Gregory Scott Milan nor does he possess any ASE Certifications." I attempted to reopen the court case but was denied. Unfortunately, Michael K Jeanes (Clerk of Courts), finds this egregious infraction unworthy of enforcement. I also reached out to Midas Corporate, but they refused to intervene, citing that Gregory Milan is the owner and Midas Corporate has, "...nothing to do with them." Except of course, for the name and monthly franchise fees/royalties. To that end, I would encourage any individual looking to do business with Gregory Scott Milan, Midas, SpeeDee, or Big O Tires, to take note and find other more suitable facilities to do business with. These businesses, and owners like Gregory Milan, are a blight on the small business community and the consumers who utilize their facilities are the ones who ultimately suffer. Avoiding these people and their businesses, might save you from months of grief, aggravation, and unnecessary financial expense. *NOTE: As of 4/8/18, Greg Milan has paid some but not all his owed balance. Came in for an alignment, they didn't mark down my appointment, which was the same case for a few others here as well. Waited anyways, place was dirty and most associates were on their phones. My steering wheel is no longer centered, I left with a clunk noise, which turned out to be a tie rod end which wasn't even remotely right. I then called and waited on hold for 10 minutes until I just hung up. I took it to another alignment shop and we got some videos of the loose tie rod end. This place is dangerous. read more

This Midas does not even deserve 1 star. I bought a Groupon for the front and rear brakes supposedly worth $298. After trying repeatedly for (2) weeks to schedule an appointment and never once getting a response through their website i called the office to schedule the appointment. The lady that answered the phone was rude, patronizing and extremely unhelpful. When i took my car in for the appointment i was finally able to schedule it took them an hour and a half to then tell me my car supposedly needed new rotors and that it would be an additional $562 on top of the Groupon I had purchased. The Groupon they said didn't cover the front and rear brake replacement as stated in the Groupon description just the pads and i would have to pay additional for the hardware as well as the rotors I supposedly needed all the way around as well. I took my car to different brake company and was told my rotors were fine and just the pads needed to be replaced. When i told the horrible customer service lady at the front desk i was not paying $562 for rotors i did not need it took them 35 minutes to put my tires back on and bring my car out. While waiting at least 2 other customers came in and complained that not only had they not fixed their cars but had made the issues worse and had made the inside of at least one of those vehicles dirty enough to get all over the customers clothes and hands. I will never take my car to this place again and would not recommend it to anyone ever. Their Groupon is a scam to get you in and take you for every penny they think they can. They tried to charge me almost $900 to replace my brake pads. read more

Came here for an oil change and they put the wrong oil in my car. Had to pay another shop to then fix my car. They offered me a free oil change and I attempted to give them another chance, shame on me. They told me when I arrived at 10:30am that they have 2 appointments at 11 and I could wait until 3pm if I wanted. She's saying this while 4 employees were standing there not doing anything because they were waiting 30 minutes for 2 appointments that may not even show. Lazy, incompetent employees that can't even handle a service as simple as an oil change. With all other options for oil changes in this complex I would NOT recommend you go here. read more

This place is great. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind! I came in for a front break pad and rotor replacement. They even let me know how long I still had on my rear brakes, and the status of my tires. they explained everything so well and gave me more information than the dealership I typically take my car too. Also prices were GREAT! Much better than a dealership. You can tell they do NOT try to rip you off here. They let you know what you actually need replaced. First off, I was greeted with a smile and no attitude which I'm sorry to say is hard to come by these days. I have been having troubles w/my car as it is an older model for the last couple of months and thanks to their customer care and expertise, they were able to diagnose all my troubles making sure the end result was getting me back on the road, safe and sound. David listened to what I said was happening and got his guys right on it. All repairs that were made would have cost a fortune at the Honda dealer, here at Midas they were definitely within reason and affordable. They they brought out lollipops and small stuffed toys for my children. And then they offered to turn on Disney Channel while we waited! I love this place! I stopped in on my way home from work to get an oil change. I didn't have an appointment... but it was 3 on a Wednesday and I didn't see a single car in the shop. I wasn't greeted as much as sneered at. Of course he couldn't fit me in for a 30 minute oil change without an appointment so I asked if there were any other locations. He informed me that no one would be able to do same day oil changes. Really? Mid-day, Mid-week? He was totally dismissive and completely unhelpful. I have never yelped before but after my experience at Midas at 9550 N. 90th Street in Scottsdale I had to learn. Lisa and Asian run the counter. I went in originally for a front end alignment on my Chevy Tahoe. They finished the work quickly and did a great job! The next day my Honda's A/C went out. I scheduled an appointment for the next day. My experience was they took the time to isolate the problem without just throwing parts at the job. The work and price were more than fair. While I waited for my car to be fixed I noticed a rare business practice. A dozen or so customers came and left with a huge smile on their faces. For all the work done Lisa and Asian had taken the time to explain what work needed to be done on their vehicles and what could wait. Every customer was treated like family. I saw that all customer wanted to invite these two fine people to their home for Christmas dinner. Five stars all the way! read more

Absolutely blown-away by the assistance, candor, professionalism, honesty and overall great customer service from this "Newly Owned" Midas. I must say, in my experience auto-shops usually tend to never do what you want them to. They bait you in with an oil-change coupon and then upsell the bejesus out of you no matter what. Totally not the case this time. I had to have my oil changed and also wanted to have my ac blower motor looked at on my Tundra. I also had been having some brake squeaking and a little bit of a wobble in the steering. A friend of mine told me about this location and how its under new management and ownership and figured I'd give it a shot. Greg, the new owner and the entire staff treated me like family. I was given the opportunity to inspect everything from their point of view, from the oil being changed to the brake rotors and wheel hub assembly. I had been in an accident awhile ago and was hosed by the less than stellar repair that took place at another shop. Greg and his staff gave me multiple options for the repair and I was floored at how well they took care of myself, my wallet and my truck. They had everything repaired and replaced in about half the time my dealer would have and for a lot less. If you're looking for a place that will take care of you and your vehicle without the selling dance that usually accompanies repairs I highly recommend this location. They do exactly what you want done, advise you on potential issues that may arise and leave it up to you, the customer. Far and away the best service I think I have ever had at any shop! It appears this location and staff have turned the proverbial leaf over and in the process left the stereotype at the door! Keep it up, you've definitely earned some customers for life. read more

I was traveling and out of town and my wife's car did not turn over. We have a two year old son and I would not be home for three more nights. I called Jason at Midas and explained the situation and he offered to come over to the house and see what the problem was. The cars battery had died and Jason replaced the battery and the car was back in business. Does any other shop do this? I think not. Talk about service. These guys are not only honest and trustworthy, they do great work and go above and beyond to help their customers especially if they are in a jam like me and my family this week. I took my car to this shop and had new brakes installed. Driving home I noticed a vibration in the brakes as well as when driving on the freeway. I took it back and told them what it was doing. They put "fixed" it right away. Driving it after this repair it was better for about 10 minutes. Then, with both of my kids in the car the brakes completely failed nearly causing an accident. I was really mad at this point and talked to the district manager who promised over the phone to make everything right, including returning my money. They towed my car to a different Midas shop and fixed it again. Dealing with the manager was a nightmare. I contacted the BBB and nothing was ever resolved. I had a knocking sound going over bumps on pavement. Steering and handling was still great. I had passed the Air Force mechanical exam with the highest scores for a female in the state of Michigan. I told them it was not my struts. Smooth road areas, no noise. I dealt with the Lisa, the 90th Street Store Manager. She told me their best mechanic drove and checked this issue out. Stated I needed both front end full Strut Assemblies, added on a lifetime warranty without discussing it with me first. This car has 65k miles on it, I told her I don't plan to keep it long enough to need new assemblies. She removed the warranty cost, I was still shocked at the quote compared to my personal knowledge and online checking myself. She then made a new quote reducing labor by $200.00 and told me a new story, that the strut mount on left was broken. I also stated I didn't want to use my credit card as was too close to limit and high interest rate. She linked me with SNAP without explaining that I needed more than stating income so when asked for 2 personal references and phone numbers, I could not provide those at that time and was already doing the application. I submitted it anyway and of course was declined. Frustrated and feeling being manipulated, I left. I asked many friends/family for references. I went with an independent car repairman/owner of 20 years dealing with 2 friends with high recommendations who found the issue was ONLY MY LEFT FRONT SWAY BAR was broken. I agreed to have him replace both as was logical. I left his shop paying $234.90, have had no further issues. I will recommend him to ANYONE. I recommend YOU Never use this Midas Shop. read more

Finally an auto place that doesn't pressure you into paying more and getting unnecessary services done! New owner runs an excellent operation. Greeting was extremely polite and professional. Owner honored my oil change coupon even though my appointment wasn't on the days specified on the coupon. Oil change was done in the time promised. After my oil change, the man working on my car walked me through all the recommended services and explained why they were important and also showed me how i could do some of them on my own if i preferred. No pressure to get them done there. The owner gave me a discount on one of the recommended services. I usually dread going to the auto shop, but this was a very pleasant experience for me. This place gives Midas a bad reputation. Had my truck aligned last February and the front tire was going bald. I called Sam on Monday August 28 and told him about my truck. He said I could bring it in at noon for a 45 minute wait. I told him that I was 4 days past my warranty expiration date he said it was ok. Went there at noon and the lady working there said it would be a 2 hour wait. So she said I could bring it in on Tuesday at noon, They have an open schedule and they will get the truck fixed, I told her I was 4 days past my warranty and she said no problem she will put a note in the computer that it was ok. Well on Tuesday I went there and the lobby was full of waiting people. What happened to the open schedule? Sam said that I was 5 days past my warranty and I would have to pay for an alignment. I told him that he told me it was ok and the lady told me it was ok. Sam said she should of not told me that it was ok, I said you told me it was ok on the phone Monday morning. Why tell people one thing and after 2 days of showing up to get the work done you tell them something different. Please read the reviews before you take your vehicle there. I agree I was past my warranty expiration date. But why in the first place you said it was ok. What a joke this place is. read more
