I RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION WITH 10 STARS! My mom passed away in September, and she had a 2007 Saturn with very low miles. The car had a wierd and concerning noise, so I took it to be diagnosed. The right front U-joint needed to be replaced. I decided the cost as smart since I could then sell it knowing it was in good condition. When Johnny's team started the repair, they discovered a bigger issue. Johnny called and explained the new issue, understood my situation, and suggested having no work done. Originally, I had told him that I planned to donate the car, but others encouraged me to sell it because is was in really good shape. Johnny knew today's issue was not worth the investment, and he did not charge me a dime for today's work. It is a blessing to be on the receiving end of honesty. read more

Visited the Orange location on October 15, 2021 for what we thought would be brake pads. Upon inspection, we learned that one of the front rotors was badly damaged, apparently due to previous car owner using the wrong size pads. Just want to let people know this MIDAS dealer is awesome, HONEST (they showed us exactly what the issue was and made sure all other brakes were ok), and discussed exact cost. I couldn't have had a better experience at Midas. I took my car in for what I thought was a bad muffler. Jaeson looked and it wound up I had a broken flex pipe which, given my car, would require an entire replacement of the exhaust system including catalytic converter with an estimate to replace of about $3K!! He said he wanted to look to see what he could do and after considering he was able to REPAIR the issue with spot welds and putty for a total cost of $150. AMAZING. The car runs great now and I am so thankful he was helpful and honest. I can't wait to bring my car back for its next oil change and any other issues. They definitely have a customer for life! I had got a flat tire on freeway, however I tried to go home... impossible! Horrible situation came, soon I got off 55 freeway and I found this place right there luckily. The guys there were so nice and helped me so quick. No chance to buy a new tire (they are not a tire shop, so didn't have my size) but they replaced my spare tire. I couldn't wait for the next day, had an appointment next morning. So I bought a new at a tire shop close to me on the same day. Anyway I was so lucky to know a great repair shop! And then, on the next day (it's today) tire checking ramp was on again... the same thing happened on the same freeway. I knew there is a nice repair shop in Orange, I drove there straitly. Of course they remember me (it's only 24 hours later) and helped me checking pressure. Everything was ok, might be tiny trouble... So happy to see them again. Took my husbands durango in to get the alignment checked and fix it. Had them check & the only other thing the car needed at that time was replaced spark plugs. Not even a week later, the cat doesn't start at all. First they said the battery was dead, then the starter which quoted me an outrageous amount I didn't agree upon. Autozone had an affordable starter which they said they put in my car but it "didn't start" so they said they'd need a replacement part. I wasn't told that part was the original part I declined. Total cost at the end of the day was 2300 for the alignment issue and then all that starter bs for it to come down go ahead gasket leak and another 5 grand estimated to repair. They really should have fixed the core issue instead of taking advantage of me and working on all these part that don't even matter for a car that won't start again. I don't trust that they did anything they said they were suppose to, my car had no issues before this and it's a 2019, 61k miles. It shouldn't be ruined. I took my car to another mechanic who's just updated me this am, the head gasket is fine, no leak and the starter is old. Idk what midas did to my car. read more

After having useless AAA tell me it would be over 2 hours to get a someone out to assist, I drove to Jason's shop and he couldn't have been more helpful. Called in on new tire immediately and even though it couldn't get to his shop in time, he offered to help put on the donut for free. Long story short if they think you know nothing about cars they will up-charge you and straight lie to your face about it. Giving one star because he was nice when he was lying to me. Long Story: Initially the store seemed like an okay place, they fit my car in last minute for an oil change and the guy over the phone was really friendly. When I arrived the customer service guy asked for my car information so he could see how much the oil change was going to cost. I told him it should be $20 - I had been using Midas for the last five years in Indiana and the oil change had never been more than that. When the system pulled up my car info it said that my car required "special" oil that would cost more. I asked him why that was so, he said it's a California law when I asked him what law number he said that it was actually store policy. At that point I left. read more

This is now my go to place for any brake related problems I have. The brake pedal on my E39 was mushy and I had to floor it to get it to stop. I originally thought it was the brake fluid. But it ended up being the brake master cylinder and the brake booster. Jon and the other mans name (I'm sorry I forgot) were super friendly and helped me out. Jon told me what had to be fixed and what could hold off for a bit longer. What I like most about that is he didnt put pressure on me for the stuff that could be held off. Hard to find a mechanic that isnt pushy these days. They were easy to talk to, stuck up a nice conversation with them. The price was good. After hearing loud grinding noises coming from the rear brakes of my 2021 Audi Q3, I called and spoke with Zee who was very helpful on the phone. Even though I didn't make an appointment to have my brakes inspected, I went to the shop and was greeted by Zee and Jaeson. I explained to Jaeson what was going on with my brakes and about 10 minutes later, he showed me my front and rear brakes so I could see the difference and understand the work that needed to be done. Jaeson then gave me a couple of pricing options depending on the type of pads and rotors I wanted. I chose which option, the parts were ordered and delivered in about 30 minutes, and the work was completed earlier than what I was initially told! Very impressive! I came to this location 3 times in the past 2 weeks for an oil change in the early afternoon and every time would be turned away due to their excuse of "we are busy." So today I decided to wake up early and arrived at 7:55 am (5 minutes before they open). At 8:00 am the doors were still locked and nobody inside. Another customer arrived at around 8:05 am and since the shop was still closed he just sat in his car too. At approximately 8:15 am, one of the Midas employees arrived and said that the manger will be late and he couldn't open the doors until his manager arrived. He said that I can leave the keys with him but I refused. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. First of all, why wasn't there a single employee at work during their normal start/opening time of 8:00 am? Also, shouldn't there be another employee such as an assistant manager who has a spare key to open the shop doors just in case the manager isn't available that day? Midas has lost a new potential customer due to a lack of professionalism in this location's business practices. read more

Honesty and Integrity. I took my car to John for a second opinion. I was told by another service center I needed new brakes and rotors all around when I was only there for an oil change. They offered to do it for the low low price of almost a $1000... dollars. John and his team inspected the brakes and I still had 60% all around on my pads so no brakes were needed. John and his team did, however, find a small part that needed to be replaced. They showed me the bad part and I agreed to the fix which was a heck of a lot less than brake sham the other place tried to pull. Long story short, John had the part there quickly and I was out of there before lunch. My car now runs like it did when it was new. Literally night and day!!! They determined I needed new pads and rotor resurfacing. More importantly, they determined that my tires were basically shot, unbeknownst to me. Walter went through a few options with me and helped me prioritize between tires and brakes. He recommended a tire place, which I then went off to get tires from. I didn't get the brakes done with Midas at that time but wanted to go back to Midas to get them done. When I returned to Midas 4 weeks later, Walter remembered me without pulling up my paperwork. He even honored the work proposal that we worked up one month prior. He even gave me a killer price. Excellent service. Excellent price. No ridiculous upsell. I have used Midas on Chapman for a little over a year. Mostly for oil changes and tire rotation - the most basic maintenance you can do. My first few experiences were fine other than taking longer than quoted. I had an oil change once and the next day when I pulled out of the driveway there was oil all over my garage. I took it back and they said they must have not tightened the seal all the way. The manager apologized and sent me on my way. Then my battery seemed to be going dead and I needed an oil change so I went back. Told them about the battery they said we check all that out with our oil change so I waited. They told me it was all done so I paid and asked what they found out about the battery. He looked at the report and said it checked out all fine. I said well that is weird it barely started to get over here. So he checked it again said it didn't even register that I needed a new battery. I asked about the report and he said he didn't know. Obviously they never checked it and just wrote that they did. I decided I couldn't go back there again because they couldn't be trusted. But found a nail in my tire so since I bought them at Midas with the with the roadside service and warranty that they will fix the flat or replace the tire if it isn't fixable. When I took it back to be fixed I find out they didn't replace the lug nut lock so now they can't get the tire off to fix. So I told them they lost it they should replace it. Well they fixed the tire so I assumed they replaced the lug nut lock. WRONG! Well today I had another nail in the tire and find out they just took off all the lug nut locks and replaced them with regular lug nuts. (Without my consent or knowledge). (I should also mention that they are under new management from my previous issues) They showed me the tire which has a big "bruise" as they called it I said well you can't fix that right? They said no so I said you will replace it as per my warranty. Their response: they need to talk to the manager to find out what the process is for the warranty. So now I'm waiting to hear what their manager says about the warranty process. They said they would call me tonight or tomorrow? Why should it take all day to find out the process. Call the warranty company or manufacturer. After all this I will NOT be using this location again and I would recommend no one else does either! read more
