I had a great experience at Midas yesterday! I needed to get my car smog checked and had no idea what to do. I saw a banner outside that they do smog checks so I went inside to ask. Their pricing was cheaper than other places I looked at, and they had a coupon available. The guy at the front was soooooo sweet and personable. He helped explain things to me and got me an appointment right away. The smog check itself was super quick; it only took about 15 minutes. They were very thorough and made sure that they provided both me and the DMV with all of the information and paperwork needed. I feel confident to bring my car back here in the future! Extras: This location is right off the 55 freeway, great easy access. There's about 10-15 parking spots. The waiting area had about 4-5 seats for customers to relax and they were playing old school The Price is Right on the TV. Pretty cool read more

After morning to Orange I had to find a new shop and this Midas was a surprise gem! The customer service I received from Jared was amazing! They were super busy and he was on his game with it all! Best prices around, and in the neighborhood so I was able to walk there and back. I have 2 cars, so taking my next one in for an oil change soon! read more

Midas - 1992 Toyota pick up "Unicorn truck" after her oil change - Auto Repair Near Me - Orange, California

I'm always skeptical of going to major auto repair shops. Even if they're privately owned, simply because of the fact they charge quite a bit more comparatively to other smaller shops. That being said, my visit here went well and was informative to say the least. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable! read more

I called ahead of time to confirm that they were able to smog my RV. i provided them the VIN they confirmed that the smog could be done and I made my appointment. When I arrived to my appointment and after being there for almost and hour they told me that they were unable to smog my RV. Very unprofessional and a complete waste of my time. read more

Do not trust them. We were quoted for a brake job. Took it to the dealership for a second opinion. Dealership advised that breaks were good (6mm in the front and 8mm in the back) and only a sensor needed replacement and no brake job. Midas tried to charge us $1200 extra for two non-manufacturer parts (only one part was needed) and the dealership parts were actually cheaper. Labor hours were inflated and the time needed to do the job was half of what was quoted by Midas. Disappointed as we would have continued to be loyal customers. read more

So I scheduled an appointment to take my nieces car in for an oil change and was told they could take me in an hour. We got a call back that they are unable to accept our truck EVER because my 80 year old dad threatened them....that's definitely not how I remember it and he was just upset that we had an appointment but still had a long wait time just to take our truck in oil change ... Wow Midas do better. I would hardly say he threatened anybody but we will gladly take our business elsewhere and with better customer service towards elderly customers. read more

Zee communicates whats going on with the car really well, and gets it done quick. Jarrod and Jerry have awesome customer service.

I would like to thank Jaeson the general manager and all the mechanics that worked on my car today. My car needed some work and they did an amazing job with excellent customer service. I truly appreciate the work they did and getting my car fixed before they closed. Thanks again to the entire team Sincerely Mike read more

Midas - Auto Repair Near Me - Orange, California

The catalytic converter was ripped off our Honda Element a couple of weekends ago. Local Honda wanted over $3500 just for the OEM part, so we asked Yelp for quotes. Several replied, timely, and this Midas location came in with a reasonable quote at $1785 + labor, good turnaround time, and good ratings, so we took the plunge. AAA towed the car last Wednesday from Lakewood to Orange. Midas called a few hours later with a revised quote (rear O2 sensor was ripped, too), and an estimated completion of next day. That did not happen. Later on Thursday, I called: problems would delay until Friday. Again, no call Friday. I called, more problems, Saturday. Later Saturday, I called again. Our contact, Zee, explained what all the problems were, and said they might have the car Saturday before closing. No follow-up call. Midas called Monday morning. The car was ready. Took more time than we expected (by a lot), but, with all their problems with faulty parts and a few extra leaks they welded, they stood by their full quote and delivered a car that my wife says drives better than before the incident. Final price: $2055.99, plus tax. Expensive life lesson (yep, we have a Miller CC deterrent box ordered and have a local installer lined up to discourage future bleepity-bleeps from hacking out the new CC). So, great service, except for one blind spot: most shops I've dealt with over the years take pains to keep customers informed of setbacks and delays. Midas Ornage would benefit from following that model. Otherwise, Zee and Jered (sp?) were both very helpful throughout the service. read more

Brought my car here awhile ago for a problem where the oil light was coming on they then gave it back to me and told me that my car burns oil fast and there's no fix to it and I should just keep putting oil in it or the engine will blow. Took it to another place and turns out they knew the oil was leaking from the pan and they put silicone on it to stop the leak. I came to this place for honest work and sadly they can't even provide that. read more

This is the only shop I will bring my cars. Jaeson and Zee always go above and beyond for their customers. I brought my car in for brakes and rotors after hearing some scraping and ended up needing a caliper swapped out as well. Got the car oil changed at Valvoline in Orange. Later the bottom Engine Cover came loose while we were driving. I stopped into Midas Orange and explained my situation with Jason. I've been bringing my cars to this Midas since moving to the area in 2017. They are always helpful, honest, and offer discounts where possible. Went for an oil change and it was the fastest and cheapest option for a full synthetic oil change. I spoke to Zee on the phone and he was quick to getting me an appointment. He told me the estimated wait time for appointments for oil changes were 45-60 min which is about standard. A lot of places will say this. But it can take hours. Not here though! It took 22 minutes from the time I parked to the time I drove out the lot to get my oil change done. $70 and less than 30 minutes cannot be beat, and Zee delivered on his word. Very much appreciate great customer service and recommend to get your oil changes done here. They were quick and the price cannot be beat! read more

Great Experience!! Needed the wheel bearings repacked on my Mini Lance Travel Trailer. Called up after "Just Tires" on Tustin Ave. referred me. See even texted me a few days later to check on whether I was satisfied. I highly recommended this location here in my home city of Orange. read more

i'm retired Air Force veteran, The owner of this location Mr. Robinson sold me a 2001 Porsche Boxster. He told me nothing was wrong with the car and that it would pass smog test he was asking 8500 and I offered him 8000. Mr. Robinson who is the owner of Midas was not there that day, his manager signed all the paperwork in front of me with Mr. Robinson's signature. Mr. Robinson was at his home in Riverside not present. I live near 4 hours away round trip. My car i brought from Mr Robinson it did not pass the smog and I learned the dash codes could have been deleted before I brought the Porsche. I messaged Mr. Robinson on Facebook messenger. He said the card needs to be driven more because it had the battery disconnected in the garage. I've driven the car over 600 miles and it has failed to smog test four times. I drove back 4 hour. Roundtrip.and talked to Zee The manager, since he is the one who signed the paperwork and sold me the vehicle. He then tried to say he did not sign any paperwork, and that owner was there which he was not I saw Zee sign the paperwork. He would not help me with my vehicle and told me the owner Mr. Robinson would call. I told Zee he forged the paperwork in front of me, which I have proof. he denied it. If Zee as a manager is forging paperwork with the owner signature who knows what else he has done On paper work At Midas. Mr. Robinson did send me a message and Facebook messenger He said he would help me but not guarantee the car will pass or how much it will cost me. I brought the car after talking with him and that it was in good condition and would pass the smog test. I am not driving that back over to Orange County just to have them charge me and not guarantee a passing after buying it from Mr Robinson. I'm sure Midas corporation will not be happy knowing a manager from Midas forge paperwork and the owner . read more

Very friendly and honest with what is needed and not absolutely needed for the car to work. Now I'm no mechanic, but over $400 in labor for brake pad replacements seems high. Lastly, I called 2 days in advance and made an appointment for this and the person on the phone took my make and model down and knew I was only coming in for brake pads. I waited for almost 3 hours as they needed to order the parts and get them delivered all while I was there. What is the point of an appointment then if you're not prepared? Again I don't know the ins and outs of running an auto shop so maybe that's just standard, but it does not seem necessary for this to be a 3 hour job. The people are nice that work here I think it might just be the way Midas's business plan is written? Up charge labor because there is not a set cost or don't be ready so that the time the customer is there so they can charge labor as being longer when in reality they're just waiting for parts? Anyways, quality job done nonetheless read more

I have had a lot of work done on my 1993 Toyota pickup truck at this location. When I bought it, though the body (not the paint) was good shape it was in really bad condition mechanically and the engine barely ran. There was rust in the water hoses that actually blocked water flow to various parts of the engine and the vacuum hoses were brittle, cracked, and connected improperly. The mechanics at Midas of Orange replaced all of my water and vacuum hoses and connected them all properly. That alone made a significant difference in the operation of the engine. They did a major tune-up and replaced all of the wiring and many other parts. After all the work they did on my engine, I needed new brakes and tires, and of course a new alignment. My truck is 31 years old, but it currently runs like it's brand new. It was stolen in February and taken on a high-speed chase from San Bernardino county to Los Angeles and crashed into the L.A. wash basin. The guy who stole my truck drove like a maniac and had wrecks with four cars, an 18-wheeler, and a cement road divider before taking it off-road at high speed and crashing through a chain-link fence and into the wash. He drove at speeds in excess of 97mph, tore through intersections and around corners like he was on a racetrack and even drove on the wrong side of the road against on-coming traffic. My truck now has dings and dents EVERYWHERE and broken lights, brackets, and various other parts... But still runs like a champion! I believe that all of the crew at Orange Midas have good reason to be proud. Of course, I had to do some repairs just to get my truck back to street-legal and I would like it to look good some day, but I am so happy that I had/have such a great group of professionals taking care of me and my truck. This is the ONLY place that I recommend for your vehicle maintenance and repairs. read more

The best mechanic in the world works here (could be my personal bias but Ricardos an amazing mechanic regardless!) Pricing is quite high for labor as well as parts it's true, even for Orange County's usual, but like they say: you pay for what you get! Great service. They replace rotors while I waited. Very reasonable prices. I called them and was able to get my car repaired the same day.

Went in here for an issue about my whole engine, my warranty covered it. They installed a new engine and when they returned the car to me after they supposedly test drove and did everything to make sure was perfect. Once I pick up in less then 5 miles of driving away a new check engine light turns on. I let them know they check it turns out is a sensor. They say that was a piece of the old engine the warranty did not cover which I understood, but why put an old engine part in a new engine without telling me so I can pay for that 50 dollar part. Instead now they tell me they can do it for me but need to charge to open the engine back and put that 50 dollar part and the cost of opening and putting back is almost 900 dollars. Everything just sounded like a complete scam, they chose to not tell me so I can come back without the warranty covering it and now they wanna charge $900 for a $50 dollar part. I took my work truck and because I thought it needed brakes and the honest crew at Midas let me know that my brakes are still good. However they did see that my rear differential was leaking and showed me the areas where the leak was. I had them put a new steel and take care of that leaking differential. My truck is driving good and I appreciate their hard work. I also got a 4 wheel alignment and my truck is driving straight as an arrow. Brought a car here to get looked at before we purchase it for my daughter, and they were so easy to work with! Affordable with only $30 for the mechanics to take a look and see if anything needs repairs. Now we know, and have a good picture of what needs to be fixed and can even negotiate over the price considering the things that need to be fixed. Everyone was very friendly, took their time, explained and showed us what exactly needed repair. So kind and helpful! Would definitely recommend!! Absolute BS service. I made an appointment on their website with a promotional deal well within in the promotional deal timeline and received an email showing the price breakdown. I go to the appointment, 40 MILES AWAY from my house because of then promised promotional deal and not only do they NOT have the tires, they won't honor the promotion because the date of service is 1 day passed. I would have come days earlier, but their website allowed it. They would do NOTHING to rectify. read more

Made an appointment. Told them what car I had. They told me it would be a quick 15 minutes. When I got there they told me they didn't have my parts. But they should have known what my car because I made an appointment. Overcharged me $40 for a $10 oil filter. Said it would take 10-15 minutes for the part to arrive and to fix. I've waited over an hour and a half. I am now late for my next appointment. No extra warning about how long it will take. Told me I had no option given to back out as they drained my oil. I kept telling them I had to leave so they told me they can just put in new oil and not a new filter. Which is what Ive been asking for since the beginning. They started getting upset and confrontational when I tried to leave. Wasted so much of my time and ruined my busy schedule. An hour and a half for an oil change? Unbelievable. Poor business ethics. Deceitful. Do not come here. read more
