Horrible because they told me that my oil cap was broken, but it was not he said that it was melted, but it was not. It was perfectly fine.

They totally screwed me over!! I went in to get mufflers put on and it cost me $470! Then again to get my resonator tubes taken out and they totally screwed not one but BOTH jobs up!!!!! I spent over $800 with this place and the CAN'T get ANY weld right!!! They will just tack weld the BOTTOM of the exhaust and NOWHERE ELSE!! I even had to contact their CORPORATE OFFICE!! And they still don't have it corrected!! I had to get ALL the work they did fixed by another company and they charged me $400 to do it!! This place should pay me back for the $800 I spent with them AL WELL as the $400 I spent to correct their CRAPPY WORK!!!!! Trust me that $1200 is only a drop in the bucket they should pay to fix their THIRD GRADE WORK!!! I want COMPLETE SATISFACTION like any other customer SHOULD HAVE!! read more

Experiences like THIS are why I TAUGHT MYSELF how to work on my vehicles. The only time I NEED a CHAIN MECHANIC SHOP is when I do NOT have a particular TOOL or need a LIFT. With that said, I had finished replacing the Lower Control Arms along with the Inner Tire Rod on my wife's 2011 Honda Pilot and took it in for an alignment and some new tires. Simple... right? WRONG! 1. It's 2024 and companies STILL don't honor/understand the ONLINE APPOINTMENT software. 2. Despite a conversation with Manager John on the SPECIFIC tires I wanted they STILL put the WRONG TIRES on the vehicle (but I didn't complain or make an issue of it). $1K SPENT and HOURS of my time I decided to let it go. 3. The following weekend I go to replace the Wheel Bearings and find that the Inner Tire Rod BOOT on the driver's side is MANGLED (pictures attached)!?!? I call John, he says he's unsure and needs to see it. Cool. I get that. Brought it in and he says it tore because it was "SATURATED." I didn't argue, even though I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT WAS NOT SATURATED WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THEM. In FACT: I even REMOVED that same boot when I REPLACED THE INNER TIRE ROD! QUESTION: How did it NOT TEAR when I (the non-certified mechanic) worked on it, but it DID when the CERTIFIED mechanic worked on it? EXACTLY! But I remained quiet and we agreed to replace it, but I would have to pay for the new boot. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FREE!!! But AGAIN, I was trying to COMPROMISE. Finally I bring it back for the repair and I notice that the guy is also looking at the PASSENGER SIDE! RED FLAG! I don't need you to do ANYTHING but what I ASKED YOU TO! AGAIN, I let it slide. An HOUR rolled by... ONE HOUR... yea... about the time to CHARGE FOR LABOR, I know! For those of you that DON'T KNOW: This is a SIMPLE job. 1. Disconnect the Outer Tire Rod from the Knuckle. 2. Disconnect the OTR from the Inner. 3. Replace the boot. Reverse. DONE (15mins MAX)! After about an HOUR and a 1/2 John calls me up to the desk and says, "That'll be $208." To which I replied, "Wait, what?" John: "Parts and labor (Boots were $50 even though I only needed one)." ME: "We agreed that I would pay for the boot?" John: "No. I said the boot and labor." What would YOU DO? It's his word vs mine. John: "I have to pay my guy for the work." I argued here a BIT to NO AVAIL. Me: "Can we do half?" He finally gives me $50 off. So long story short I lose my morning work shift AND $150 for THEIR MISTAKE! What ever happened to "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION?" I bring my vehicle to you. You BREAK it! Then I pay for it!?!? Him saying it was "SATURATED" is here nor there. it's like having a LINEN shirt. Someone TEARING it. And then saying, well it was linen!? It doesn't matter how FRAGILE it was, all that matters is that YOU TORE IT! And if the CERTIFIED MECHANIC saw that it was a possibility, should I have not received a PHONE CALL? EXACTLY! They also don't know that this is the SECOND time that I had an alignment done and the boot was mangled! That's how I know that THEY DID IT! It doesn't matter if it's "SATURATED" or NOT! I didn't bring ANY of this up. I just let him do his thing so I would know going forward who THEY WERE. This WORLD is DONE (Sodom & Gomorrah)! SMH It's pretty sad man. It's no longer a bad apple here or there... THE ORCHARD is BAD! Am I attacking John personally? No. I think he's just a VICTIM of the SYSTEM. They don't see PEOPLE anymore, they just see DOLLAR SIGNS. I mean look at our ECONOMY!? If I were in his position: I would have said "Sir, sorry for OUR MISTAKE, you've already spent so much time & money with us, let's return the FAVOR and SHOW how much we VALUE your BUSINESS! So, I used Midas some time ago for an issue I was having trouble with that I couldn't even get a quote for at the dealer I purchased it from years ago (they were just backed up considerably). Midas was able to repair it (an issue with the heating system) for a good chunk of change that they warned me going in only had a 50/50 chance of working (these were the best odds I had at keeping the car on the road at the time, comfortably). I returned to this Midas location for a full inspection more recently after the car started giving me trouble. They did the inspection, along with an oil change. The inspection pointed to more work than it was worth putting into the old car, so I paid and thanked them for their work. Some of the parts needed for that car were difficult to locate and the guy at the front called around to hunt them down for me which I vastly appreciated. But couple the fact that these parts were no longer being made and the total due to keep this one road safe, the smartest option for me was to get a different car. Once I did, I booked a full inspection from the same Midas location to go over that car while it was under warranty so I'd know if I was in better shape now. I used the same online booking request service, but Midas never verified my appointment or contacted me (and I requested the appointment days in advance). I ended up at a Firestone using the same appointment request system but they verified it and took care of me. Possibly this Midas was just booked up and couldn't get back with me, maybe they didn't feel like doing another inspection since I didn't follow through with any of the suggestions last time--who knows? But the price of the inspection is for that service only and shouldn't be seen as contingent on future work. When I tried to talk with him on the phone he hung up on me twice. Two different phone calls. He is considered a complete A hole by the auto brokerage firm I bought the vehicle from. Scheduled an appointment for a Saturday oil change. I got a confirmation receipt and was told in store they do not take weekend appointments and that I would have to wait several hours. I quote "we don't even see that online thing" I understand busy weekends and not taking weekend appointments, but this "online thing" needs to be deactivated then, otherwise honor your promises. People make plans based on confirmed appointments, and this is terrible customer service. I am sure I am not the first person to schedule a weekend appointment, and clearly this must be a known issue not addressed for some time now. read more

Called to get a quote on a tire that they had in stock, went to have the tire put on and when I arrived the price increased! Total scam.

I'd been planning on getting an oil change this weekend for a while now and last week I received a coupon in the mail for this location - so decided to give them a shot! Very convenient location to me and easy parking situation. Clean building. Nashville has a city ordinance now that all citizens must wear masks in public places. ZERO employees were wearing masks, which did not make me feel safe. I arrived, presented the coupon, and was asked to fill a form out (as I was a first time customer) and someone would be with me shortly. OK, great. About 25 minutes later someone came over and said they were just about done and wanted to go over additional recommendations. My question: how could they they be almost done when no one asked me which oil change I wanted? I was given a conventional (which will be fine in the end), but for my vehicle, it is recommended to get a synthetic blend oil (which is what I would have asked for when they spoke to me before performing the service). While the location is great, clean and everyone was super kind, I do not think I'll be back. This Midas on Charlotte has been my go-to garage since the early 2000's. They've kept me moving through four different cars. I don't have to wonder if I'm being told the truth and they go out of their way to get me in even when they're slammed. Keith is excellent as well as William and others. On a complicated job the mechanic himself will come in and explain everything in detail and answer all questions. I trust them completely.Once, I had a sensor replaced as per "check-engine " light and a few days later we found there was still another sensor to replace and Keith said "no charge,we should've got it right the first time." Because of the location of the sensor the labor would've been $200. No charge ! You can't beat a garage like that ! In closing,their prices aren't cheap but they are competitive and the work is professional grade. I can't say enough about these guys ! Great shop! read more

Last week I hit a small piece of wood on the interstate. Apparently, it popped my front tire. After stopping by another tire place that needed my car until the next day(Which was not an option) Midas on Charlotte, took care of my tire within the afternoon. My son went in about his brakes squeaking and this establishment. Refinished his rotors, new tire and rotation. When my son went back, after he was told that the brakes were done, that is when he was told, "Oh no, we only refinished your rotors." I called the 800 number to form a complaint, and I was told that the owner or manager would give me a call. I was told that I would get a call in 48 hours. I took into consideration Monday was Columbus Day. Today makes a week, no one has called to apologize for how my son was lied to and how to resolve the issue. They said I'd have to take it out and charge it myself, then left me with a dead car... but WILLIAM at Midas was so kind on the phone, and I left my car with them to fix. It was done in less than 2 hours on a busy Saturday. He talked through the issue with me, and the part/labor pricing - very fair prices too!! Everyone working at this Midas location has a smile on their face, and they seem to really appreciate your business! I've only had to get a couple of oil changes here, and I've been pleased each time. First of all, I always manage to find a coupon which is a plus! Oil changes WITH a tire rotation will cost you between $24.95 a $29.95! The same service at the dealership would cost me double that! I also like how they offer a courtesy check on your car. For example, they noticed I needed more window wiper fluid, so they went ahead and added it for free! It also turned out I needed to replace the engine air filter and the cabin air filter. They quoted us a price, which was reasonable and they weren't pushy about it either. Fortunately, my husband knew how to do it, BUT we wouldn't have known to do it without Midas! I normally dread having to take my car in anywhere because as a woman they usually talk down to me and overcharge me, but I've had the opposite experience at Midas! Some of the nicest, most respectful mechanics. My first time there I overheard one of them offering to give an elderly lady a ride home while they worked on her car so she wouldn't have to wait there all afternoon. I literally feel like I got my money stolen from I went in asking them to simply screw on a connector piece that connects my battery to the battery cables. I brought the piece with me- it was $7. I was so excited when Anthony said "sure, we can do that for ya." Then halfway he's like "so yeah that will be $66" I'm like "ummm I'm not prepared to pay that and he's like "do you want me to tell him to stop?" He literally waited until the man was already halfway done and at this point I was terrified to shut my car off because it had died right before I jumped it to get to them. David at your Dickson Tennessee store LIED. Not sure if this is your company's practice to way over charge at the first meeting and then give a discount. I was charged on 6/19/21 $1611.06, $1320.00 of this 1611 was for a "part that I have to get from the dealer". A Blower motor for a Toyota Tacoma 2017. " It usually doesn't cost but 300.00-400.00 dollars because we can use other parts, but yours has to come from the dealer". I paid 1611.06. Today, I had a 9:00am appointment. David tells me today he "may" can give me a 900.00 refund. "It depends on how he has to put it on, he may not have to take off the dash just the glove box". If so, will give you 900.00 back. He also told me lat Saturday it would take 8 hours to work on my truck. Today, he calls me after 40min later to state he is finished with the work and will give me a refund, but my tires are "thread-bare" and he will give me a 200.00 refund and put new tires on. My tires are not thread bare. He only gave me a 895.00 refund! If this is how you as a corporation do business you will fail and suffer consequences. I am owed at least 300.00 more in refund. The dealer part cost 49.95, O Reilly's part your team used on my car is 118.00, NOT A TOYOTA DEALER PART as was told for 1611 dollars. You OWE ME MORE REFUND! I will await to hear back . Worst car repair experience EVER! I came in to get a small brake problem fixed that cost about $200. I paid, all for that problem to not be at all fixed and I came back the next day. When I got my car back I had loud sounds coming from my brakes that I didn't have before and they insisted that I drive around for a day to see if the sound went away---it didn't. I went back to Midas everyday for 2 weeks and a month later and many "second opinions" that they asked me to get who all said it was a brake issue, the problem is still here and they insist there is nothing they can do. They're unprofessional, and clearly do very shoddy work. I should've just paid more and gone to the dealership for peace of mind. I'll never come back again. Edit: The person below who said that they would contact me, did. And they did nothing. Top Notch customer service. I went to another mechanic and had my problem that I paid Midas to fix for $200, for $27 AT Pepboys! A simple fix that took no time, and no money. Midas fixed my struts on my car with a lifetime warranty, however when one of them broke a year and a half later, they told me they no longer honored lifetime warranties and wouldn't cover it. We are calling to report the situation and also the manager, so I guess we will hope that corporate Midas is a little more honest! read more

So these guys must really not like money or attracting new customers. Normally I would just change the oil in my car myself but ever since I moved I don't really have the means to safely do it. No lift and being 5'11" 215 pounds I can't exactly squeeze under a Honda Civic and do any sort of work. Had a living social voucher for an Oil Change at Midas so I walk into the Charollette Pike location. Initially no one is at the counter. After waiting around a few minutes some one comes in and helps me. Tell them what I'm there for, and he explains to me they don't take living social coupons at their location. Ok no big deal. I'll use it some other time. Can I still get my oil changed? I get a flat NO. When I inquire why I am told that they have someone coming in for an appointment at 6 so they won't be able to get to me before they close. I look at my watch, it is 530. At home when I had a lift I could change my own oil in 25 minutes. Apparently, the guys who do it for a living are less competent at changing oil than someone who isn't a trained mechanic. This was especially frustrating since when I walked up I could CLEARLY see they had an open lift and 2-3 mechanics/employees just standing in a circle talking. Needless to say there are plenty of other places willing to help a customer out and I will not be returning to this place ever. read more

Oil leak, Midas was the 3rd place I pulled into (other two places could not even give me an appt. because they were not sure their mechanics would even show up for work!). Though Midas could not squeeze me in that day, I got an appt for the next morning. Repair took a few hours due to extent of damage - required replacement. Midas was professional, explained the issue clearly in layman terms I could understand, and they left me feeling I was treated fairly and charged fairly. I will go to them for all my auto needs from now on and highly recommend them! The only reason they did not receive 5 stars is because it was my first service experience with them, hoping to give them 5 stars after my next visit. read more

We were on a long road trip and needed help. He said no, in an unsympathetic way. I've had many busy auto mechanics make time to at least take a quick look and see how bad it was. Once I get there there's no record of my appointment and it would be a long wait time. I ended up going to Take 5 oil change no less than a block away. I shouldn't have to pay for a brake job twice. Should I? Shady.... wrote this review on the Midas website. Not published. All of their reviews give them 5.0 stars. Anywhere else, it's not a perfect score. Hmmmm. I felt like they were taking advantage of me after I was presented with the bill. The word Warrantee all over the signage. Be careful, it's NOT what you think. Needed brakes. They told me the rotors were fine just needed to be turned. New pads installed. Within a couple months, the brakes began pulsating. The brakes should not have done that. I returned a little over a year as the irritation of the pulsating brakes became worse. They found no issues. Told me to return after a while longer as the brakes would probably smooth themselves out. 5 more months... rough brakes! Do not use the folks!!!! A quality brake shop would not provide this type experience. At the end, they wanted replace 2 rotors and turn the other 2 again. Didn't think you could turn rotors twice? Update: This Midas did not respond other than the comment to my post. Midas.com doesn't reflect my poor review of the treatment. I did have to pay for a second brake job elsewhere. So I guess that was the answer to my question. 2 brake jobs in about 1.5 years. Go elsewhere or this might happen to you. read more

I'm a fan of the Jiffy Lube on White Bridge Road however I received a coupon for an oil change and tire rotation for $20 and that was too good to turn down so I made an appointment. It took about an hour for the oil change and rotation but the lobby was comfortable and they didn't try to sell me a bunch of things I don't need. I would recommend. read more

The people here will try to rip you apart! I have had really bad experiences with this place. I dont even know where to start. Most recently, I had a SES light on and they quoted 1100+ to get it fixed with a new cat converter: I am glad that I decline their service since I can get the part for 120+ on ebay. It works great, and i can't even notice the difference (if any.) After tire rotation service, they even tore apart rear wheels' lug nuts on my vehicle, saying there is nothing they could do about it and asking 100+ to replace each of them. This might not be 100% their faults since the guys at Jiffy Lube on White Bridge probably did it, but I still feel bad about the way they are trying to tear things apart to sell services. read more

After spending $800 on four sets of brake pads and two rear rotors(This would have been fine if done correctly), I drive home and notice I am driving against brake resistance. My rear brakes were rubbing and causing my rims to be blistering hot. Also, my parking brake was no longer working. I took it immediately back to the shop to get this fixed and was turned away as they said they did not have time. I brought the truck back early the next week. After waiting an hour for the truck to be put on the rack( even though I had an appointment) they tell me both rear brake calibers are stuck. They were not stuck before I took it to the shop. I told them that they sent me away with the truck in the same condition and tried to charge me for new brake calipers as well as labor. The manager took away the labor charge for the calipers( rightfully so, but also appreciated), I still purchased the calipers. After waiting three hours, the mechanic comes out and says " I don't mean to be an a$$, but there is no way your parking brake worked before you brought it here." So after all of this, he tells a customer who just spent a total over one thousand dollars that he was a liar. And after my response he states " well maybe the brake drum was a different size." Never ever go here. They are unprofessional and take no accountability for their work. read more

WARNING! They WILL scam you if they think they can get away with it! I took my truck there in December when the windshield washer fluid wasn't coming out. I had an extended warranty on the truck which would cover this repair (minus a $100 deductible). Midas found the problem and told me they'd have to order the part from overseas, so they'd call when it was in. I asked if I owed anything and was told no. Never got a call. I finally got around to calling them and they had it. Took my truck back in and they claimed I owed over $400! They claimed the warranty didn't cover diagnostic time, but didn't submit that to even see. Warranty company said they did cover, and could tell me exactly how much they paid out in that. Every time I called Midas to try and figure this out, they were rude, talked over me, and kept changing the price. Employee admitted they had no idea how much the part even cost so they were just making things up. They were trying to add on over $400 more than what they submitted to the warranty company for coverage and was lying to them about it as well. Finally the "general manager told him he could discount it" and I only had to pay the $100. My receipt doesn't even detail any costs, just the total that the warranty company knew about. It took complaining and refusing to pay until it was figured out for them to only charge me what I truly owed. I will NEVER go back. read more
