I was moving back to New York after being in Nashville for a year. I needed to get the car's fluids changed for the ride home. They inspected the car and let me know that the car needed a serpentine belt and brakes. I had been having trouble with the car for months. The problems the car had been having was probably related to the serpentine belt. They replaced it at a reasonable price, however I was still concerned about it making it home with all the problems I had been having over the last few months. I had gone to several different mechanics before this and the problem was not fixed. Two days later we drove the car 14 hours back to New York with no problems at all. It was a great ride!!! I waited to make sure I made it home before writing the review. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. It was a great experience. Terrible Experience - Broken AC and Rude Staff I went to this Midas location for a routine oil change, but the moment I drove away, my car's AC completely stopped working--even though it was blowing cold air just before I handed them the keys. When I walked back inside to report the issue, an employee told me to come back the next day for an inspection. When I returned the next morning, they completely flipped the script and demanded money just to look at the problem. Employees Matt and Taylor were shockingly rude, defensive, and disrespectful, flat-out refusing to take any accountability for whatever was mishandled or disconnected under the hood during the service. Save yourself the headache and your hard-earned money. Saving a couple of dollars on a cheap oil change is not worth dealing with incompetent mechanics and staff who treat paying customers this poorly. Avoid this location completely! read more

Mel, you sir were a pleasure to have met that early morning. I was taking my daughter to show her where to go get her first oil change. Midas Hermitage is the place I go to. Mel who was the Manager that day and was very efficient and the young man doing the oil change did a great job inspecting our cars for things that needed to be done. He was working alone that morning but he waisted no time. My daughter needed brakes badly based on his inspection. My car checked out okay. Mel explained the credit card option to finace the brakes on my daughtes car. We initially put it on hold. But Mel made valid points as a safety issue that needed to be done and he had a way of getting it done. So he explained how quick and easy it was to apply for financing the brakes. It was an easy process that could be completed on the phone. She was approved and that same day she was with new brakes. Safety first, especially for your babies. Thank you Mell for all your service. I've been using this Midas location for years because I can trust she won't over sell me, she is honest and dependable. She has built a reliable and knowledgeable crew over the years and they are great. I've sent so many friends here and all of them will tell you the same! Midas is a great company. Great. I have gotten any car service I ever needed for the past two years since being here. Until...... I went here last during corona virus.. I had a tiny nail in my car. They offered me TWO tires for $500 and four tires for $700! Granted my wheels needed a change but they were still drivable & did not need new ones yet. The person talking to me this day really reeked of alcohol. Not saying he was drunk but! The alcohol smell had me skeptical. So... I opted to go else where. ------- Here we go. Oil changes. Full synthetic $50-$90 depending on coupons. They were great! Tire rotations included. They usually can take me in the day I call. That was always great. ---- What I didn't know was how rough they treated your car.. or something as simple as an oil plug. I appreciated their help all these years. read more

Every time I've gone to this Midas (in Hermitage, not Lebanon, I know I am going to have whatever they touch turn to gold. I don't even bother going anywhere else. They get the job done promptly. They don't BS you. If you ask questions, they're not afraid to let you know what they think is going on. I won't go somewhere where they're wishy-washy and non-committal, and Midas will tell it to you straight. That's only fair to the customer. I know what is speculation and what is fact, and if they tell me their speculation was wrong, and show me the facts afterward, there's no fault in that. Add free wifi to that, and you've got a place you don't mind to hang out at for a an hour. Sometimes you have to search to find a place where you get treated right at the car shop. Both me & my gf came to Midas when we first moved into town, to get oil changes on our vehicles. After they changed my oil, they told me that all 4 of my brake pads needed to be changed ASAP! My brakes didn't feel bad to me, so i decided to take it to another local shop for a 2nd opinion.. They checked them, and said that my back-rear brakes looked great & wouldn't need to be changed for a while! They said that the front one's still have plenty of life, but were a little more worn down than the rear one's...... I was absolutely shocked by the blatant LIES of the Midas staff... Now, let's not forget that my girlfriend went there for an oil change as well (she's a pretty blonde girl, and the average auto-mechanic's eyes light up when she walks in) The Midas mechanic said she needed a full-synthetic oil change, which would cost upwards of $80 I told her to go to another shop & we'd ask them. We went to another local shop, and they said that her oil change would cost $20 -_- It's ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS that places like this Midas location can get away with such dishonesty..... read more

This was my first Midas experience. I called and made an appointment and was told on the phone they would get my car right in and should be in and out within an hour. I arrive at my scheduled time and check the car in. The gentleman at the front counter asks if I'm going to stay or leave and I confirm that if it's only going to be an hour I would stay. He confirmed saying an hour, maybe an hour and a half. I sit down and start working on my laptop. An hour passes and my car hasn't even been touched, test driven, or moved into the bay. I decide to call an Uber because I can tell this is going to take way longer than an hour(which was a great choice). I tell the man at the front desk that I'm leaving and to please call me when they get an estimate and diagnosis together. He says a technician is finishing up another car and should be working on mine in 10 minutes. I get home and don't hear from them. After 3 hours now of total wait time I call in to get an update. He tells me they are just about to start on my car. I told him he told me that 2 hours ago. He says he'll call me right back with the info. Another hour passes. Still no call from them. So I call 1 minute before they close and they still don't have an answer for me. He says they test drove it and are looking around and aren't sure. But they are pretty sure it isn't my brakes or rotors which is what I told them I thought it was. He tells me they are trying their best and I finally express my frustration with how the day has gone. Telling him I keep getting blown off and delayed so he says he's gonna put me on hold and try to figure out what's going on. I get placed on hold for 20 minutes. In which time they decide that it is my brakes and my rotors and my struts and my tires. At this point I have very little confidence that they had even looked at my car until they placed me on hold. I told him to go ahead with the rotors and brakes because that's what I initially went there for. I think they actually did an okay job on the mechanic work. But there was zero care for customer service. I picked up my car this morning and so far it seems to be driving well and the problem was fixed. BUT my biggest complaint is that now my car wreaks of cigarette smoke. Either they smoked in it while they were test driving or the men working on it smoke so much they the smell like cigarettes all the time. Either way my car smells. Letting it air out this afternoon and hoping that smell disappears or I will have to go back and deal with them some more to see how they intend to fix it. Overall very disappointing. I may give another Midas shop another shot, but I will not return to this particular location. read more

I came to this location based off an oil change Groupon I purchased and an appointment was required. I set my appointment, and as I was checked in, my service advisor told me it would take approximately 30-45 minutes. I waited about 50 minutes and noticed that they hadn't pulled my car into the bay. After asking the advisor how much longer it would take, he was very polite and went to get one of the service technicians to do my oil change. I was out in about 15 minutes after that. Here's the thing...my Groupon was for an oil change for $22 and I was charged an additional $6 for a disposal fee. However, the sign at the location advertised an oil change of $19.99. I'm thinking I'd be getting better oil or more services since I paid more, but the service advisor said there's no difference. That's shady business to have me purchase a Groupon thinking I'm getting a better deal, and then to pull up and see that they charge less for the same services, even though you pay more for the Groupon. When I asked the service advisor why the Groupon was more, he just shrugged his shoulders. So they get 3 stars because of the courteous staff, but shady shady way to do business and get customers in. read more

Went in for a muffler only it didn't need anything else..now mind you I tried to call and get a quote over the phone.. They refused to give me a quote over the phone said they had to look under the car to give me a accurate quote.... OK I can buy that.. Take my car there drop it off bc I am at work and can't wait within 20 min they call me with a quote of almost 500 dollars for just a muffler and labor!!!!! I called donelson muffler and hitch they quoted me 2-250 on the phone and when I got there he looked at it and said it would be more like 175.... After leaving a tire place with an estimate of over $400 worth of things I "needed" to do to my less than 3 year old car before they so much as would rotate my tires, I came to Midas for a second opinion. I was pretty sure I was being taken advantage of and Midas was AMAZING. Rotated my tires for $21 and let me know next time it will be included in the price of an oil change and no mention of any of the "extras" the other place was trying to force on me. I go here regularly for my oil change which was always fine, my car was brand new and it never needed any further work done. I went in to talk about my tire pressure and was told that there was a nail in my tire and that it was in the side wall and was NOT repairable and needed to be replaced. I took the picture they sent me to a few other shops and all 3 said that it was simple repair and was definitely not in the side wall, I should have no worries for a long time. I went back to Midas to tell them I would not be getting a new tire, and Lori came off as agitated, seemingly trying to scare me by saying if I didn't get it fixed with them that it WOULD explode on me. I have driven 1200 miles since with zero issues. Hated the feeling of trying to be tricked or mislead considering im a young girl with no experience. had also bought two new tires the week before because I was told I NEEDED them and unfortunately at that time I didn't do my research- who knows if I needed them or not. I was on the road (all the way from Seattle, WA) when I stopped in Nashville, TN. While at a stoplight, I was alarmed to hear the sound of my heat plate rattling under my car. I called Adam at this Midas location and explained the situation, and even though it was almost closing time, he told me to bring the car over and they would fix the problem. Both Adam and Blake worked quickly to un-hitch my trailer, lift my car, secure the heat plate, and re-hitch my trailer. They were friendly, honest, and got me back on the road safely. I had an appointment on a Saturday at 1 p.m. two weeks didn't realize that an oil change would of taken two and a half hours. My service advisor was worried about me staying longer to fix some items on my car. I understand I need work done to my car but I specifically came there for an oil change. The folks here are great! I had to take my car in Saturday when all my "check brake" lights came on. I called to see if they could assess the problem, took my car in a few hours later, but had to leave it Sat night & Sunday since they're closed. I called to follow up on Monday only to get bad news that they didn't have the equipment to narrow down what sensor (out of 8) was the root of the problem. 5 stars all the way! Not only did they take their time to explain what could be wrong and a few options to get it resolved, but they didn't charge me the $90 diagnostic fee. After looking at my vehicle, they gave me an $800+ (after their $100 off) repair estimate that included tie rods new rotors and pads for all wheels. I told them I wanted another estimate. Had a bad experience at Midas, I was contacted by the manager and had my issue resolved

Do not take your car here. They charge me 1,200 dollars to fix a alternator and a battery for a check engine light issue as stated they performed a full diagnostic in my car and these were the problems. Less then 48 hours my car light came on with the same signal! Took it right back and they proceeded to tell me it's a whole nother issue and attempted to charge me more money for the same issue to get resolved and stated they were unrelated. Going back in forth with since the beginning of the week and the manger stated that they would fix the problem at no charge and they would call me back when it's done. 3 DAYS LATER called me and said they would pay for the part and not the labor after telling me they would resolve my issue. Called corporate twice was told a district manager would call me within 72 hours and no one has called me and my first complaint was at the beginning of the week! So I'm out 1300 dollars during a pandemic and it's safe to say That I know longer trust the Midas touch and will never use there services and will advise others to never use there services again. It was a horrible experience I drive a 2013 Chevy Malibu and I take care of my car they was trying to play me like a female who doesn't know anything and really they didn't resolve my issue the first time and couldn't own up to it. read more

I never ever post reviews but this place definitely wowed me. The ac in my car was out and after being priced from other competitors in the 1300-1800 dollar range i came to midas. Not only did the fix it for about 500 bucks cheaper, but they refused to let me take a taxi and one of the mechanics gave me a ride home while I wait for the work to be done. The manager Blake was very professional and helpful. Not once did i feel he was trying to upcharge me for maintenance i didn't need. Someone from corporate needs to give this man a raise so he stays in the company for a very long time! read more

It was really nice to stop in at this Hermitage Midas location @4247 Lebanon Pike on (3/26/12) & to have a great positive experience. It was a few extra miles out of my way, ...as I actually live closer to the other store, but it was definitely worth the drive to be treated well/better. :-) Honest mechanics & they seemed fair/reasonable. She said "well we can't just slap brake pads on there we have to look at it, it might need more done." All I asked for what pricing. If I could give negative stars I would. There were multiple red flags wiwth this place. Robbie talked to everyone (customers) about his personal issues. This place is understaffed and it shows. I took my car there 4 times (2 times with an appointment) and when I returned, my car wasn't touched. Why have an appointment? I brought my car in with a check engine light on and left with my check engine light on. All I can say to the owners- do yourself a favor and find new management. They may be making a profit- but not in the right way. After going to that Midas 4 times (for the same problem that was never fixed) I saw them run off multiple customers. Imagine what the business would be profiting, if you took care of EVERY customer, not just a few. Once I took my car there, I had my family bring 2 of our other cars there. 1 car- overcharged, 2nd car- problem was not fixed, 3rd car- was not fixed. We will NEVER return to this location. All they would tell me when I brought my car back (after the car wasn't fixed), was "were not making any more money on this". Such a joke. I paid $1,200 and the car is still not fixed. Finally someone that knows what they are doing! I took my H2 Hummer here, It had a cracked head!. They fixed it and now it runs like a dream!
