This is one of the worst place I have ever seen as a car repair shop. I went there to get my car inspection done. First of all my appointment was at 2:00 P.M. and the guys took the car inside garage after 3:15 PM. Had to spent 3+ hours just for the inspection. But instead of inspecting the car, They were more interested in showing me that you have so many issues in the car. The person has already checked the servicing records of my car and was checking the items which were not in the Carfax, like Transmission oil is not changed, Air filter is not changed etc... He also told me that my Rear Brakes are completely gone and He wanted me to get all those things repaired then and there. He quoted me the prices of all the repairs but they were extremely pricey even more then Toyota dealership. Although he has put lots of discounts as per him When I said I am not ready for any repairs, He rejected the inspection for the break issue. Whereas yesterday Toyota has passed it without any issues. Toyota people told that the Brakes are good for now but we may have to replace it after 10K miles as it has only 5mm left. Does anyone know where to complain about these people I would like to have their license revoked at least for inspection. read more

I can't believe it. I brought my car in for an inspection and an oil change. The manager had me pay the exorbitant $300+ fee while they were "finishing up" with my beloved car. Unknown to myself they were still tinkering around in the engine; they had screwed SOMETHING up with the battery, and I waited around another hour (for a grand total of 3 hours) and drove away with a check engine light, brake light flashing and some other random signal lit up on the dash. There was no rush, no apology. Nada. Now I have to go spend some more time trying to fix what they've done. Update: the owner is working with me to remedy the situation. I took a 2014 Corolla S to get the oil changed. This was the first time I've taken a vehicle myself to get serviced, so I wasn't completely sure on what to expect. I didn't realize that most newer cars require synthetic oil, so the oil change costed more than I had expected (their website doesn't really advertise this but I suppose this is more of a corporate issue rather than this specific store). I believe the man that helped me was named Carl, and he very patiently explained to me the reason why my car needed synthetic oil and made sure my questions were answered. (I later did the research myself in the waiting room while waiting for my car and he indeed was correct; he did not lie to me.) Overall, good experience with the staff during my visit and I appreciate them taking the time to make it a learning experience. However, I do have to remove a star for some of the pricing. At $69.99 an oil change (if you don't use the $10 coupon you have to ask for), one single oil change is more expensive than the start-up costs for buying the equipment to do them yourself! They also recommended replacing my cabin air and engine air filters (which were admittedly dirty) for $34.99 apiece. Each one takes about 30 seconds to replace by yourself on the Corolla, and I bought both parts for under $20 on Amazon. My parents have been here in the past too and they were able to get our minivan's struts replaced at a substantially lower cost than what Midas quoted them at a local mechanic. We've been going here for a while after our "water in the washer fluid tank" incident at the nearby NTB (see my review) and have had good experiences with the staff here, but I hope whoever sets the prices (corporate?) gets the hint that their current prices aren't exactly competitive. read more

So, it's been a while, so I admit, they could have their act together now. About 10 years ago, maybe a little more. I had been bringing my car here consistantly. on one occasion, my breaks were making a noise, so I brought it in. They said it was the rotors. They "replaced them" and I was on my way. until a year later, when I brought it back, and the rotors needed to be replaced again. The third time- a year later, I needed to have them "replaced" I told them forget it, and I just bought a new car instead. They told me that GM was just putting rotors that were too small in the vehicles so they warped fast. So here's the thing, there's no way I should have needed to have rotors done three times in about 3 years. A mechanic friend told me that if that happened, they were probably just resurfacing the rotors, rather than replacing them, so they can save the money on the parts. I can't prove this by any means, but my issue is that it needed to be redone repeatedly. So, just to reiterate, this review is with old information so they could totally have their act together, but also, I don't know why my rotors went bad 3 years running and I find it very suspicious. read more

I see mixed reviews here and chose not to take my vehicle there before the first phone call ended. I called asking for pricing on brakes and rotors, its what they do, right? First sign of trouble is when they say,"let you speak to my manager". After 5 minutes of giving my contact information first and listening to the "full service" pitch, after stating that all I wanted was the price, it was still being fed to me. He wasn't listening and kept doing his thing. I decided it wasn't going well on the call and it seems others have had a predictably bad experience. Can you say RUDE! walked in for a state inspection sticker on a Saturday morning at 7:45am. Granted, I was late by 15 minutes, but there were no other customers there. Mind you, it was very bitter cold out. Walked in and the manager, Mike, started reprimanding me for only coming once a year. Telling me I should use him for more services, that he does not make any money of me and the only reason he can charge a low price for the inspection sticker is because of the money he makes off of customers for other services. DUDE, ITS 7:45AM ON A COLD SATURDAY CAN YOU BACK OFF ME! I was so taken aback by this it was the most ridiculous thing I have ever been a part of. He asked me 21 questions, where do you go, why do you not get services here, and on and on. The only good part was I have a newer car so the inspection took 20 minutes but I felt so miserable after the entire encounter that I walked across the street in the dead cold to Dunkin Donuts just so I did not have to be in the same room with the manager and deal with it. I will NEVER go back there again and I advise everyone else that reads my review to do that same. It is my choice not to have my servers done there. He could have approached it in a different way with me, but he was aggressive and rude. NO MANNERS! I'd rather pay the extra $10 somewhere else and not have to be attacked by MANAGEMENT! read more

I got ripped off for $700. I brought my car in to get my brakes new pads and rotors and the lot because they were grinding very loudly and making an oscillating wah Wah sound very slightly. It was an expensive venture but I love my car and I want to be safe. I picked my car up and it felt very much the same. Same sounds. I called and they said I needed to let them break in. Fair enough. 2000 miles later I called again and they were still grinding. I brought it in and they said they couldn't see a problem. It was probably rust. I then drove away and asked all my friends if it was normal. They said NO WAY! I brought it back a 3rd time and they again refused that there was anything wrong with it. I felt like I was going crazy. I demanded a manager help me. He said "his car sounds like that and that there is nothing to worry about." I was bummed. I didn't know how to argue this. I knew something was wrong, but I didn't know how to tell them that "yes! There is something's wrong with my car and you guys didn't fix it!" While they were denying anything was wrong in the first place and said things like "there's going to be some noise with breaks" when everyone else is telling me this is loud for breaks. I then brought it to a family friend mechanic who is an hour away but trustworthy. He said there is no way the rotors and break pads were new. He showed me and they showed years of wear. He was right! I wasn't going crazy. Don't get taken like I did. I will never bring either of my 2 cars there again. read more

These mechanics tried to screw me over. I just needed a check engine light fixed - they insisted that I needed over $2,000 in repairs and they tried acting like they were doing me a favor with a bunch of rebates and discounts. This car passed inspection in January and they say it won't pass if I don't get all these repairs. They were clearly trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge with cars. At the end of the day, I was there for an hour or more and they took my old inspection sticker off of my car... They also tricked me into getting one of their Midas credit cards. I will never use the card and will cancel it as soon as it arrives in the mail. Do not go here if you want honest service. They will take advantage of you. read more

I took my car here earlier this year to get emissions testing. Being new to the area, I didn't know what to expect. The crew also serviced the car and found multiple issues including worn brake pads, disintegrating spark plugs, wheel alignment, etc. They preceded to charge an exorbitant price for what proved to be subpar work. The car ended up being in worse condition than when I brought it in. On my drive home, the wheels made a constant clunking sound because they were so misaligned. This place is horrible I made an appointment for an state inspection at 12:30 -1 in afternoon when I got here the poor customer service guy told me it's going to take 2 hours to get in there I mentioned that I had an appointment he said it's still going to take a few hours to get it done this is crazy to me everytime I go to this Midas it's a problem not very organized and no communication what's so ever it's aweful I should of spent the money at Toyota the worker behind desk is so rude !! read more

This is the best auto mechanic experience I have had in the US of A. Period. If there was a Ten Star rating available, I would award it in a heartbeat. Here is why: - I had gourmet coffee (Keurig) that hit the spot, - sat in a really comfy chair in a perfectly temp-controlled lounge, - glanced through a few great magazines, - watched some fantastic TV, - did some decent work on my laptop with WiFi - had a nice conversation with the Manager (Mike), - saw some very courteous service mechanics work on my car, - got all my work done with NO additional pressure for more (yes, you read that right - NONE!), ... and - to top it all - they offered to rotate my tires and balance them on a follow-up visit for free because it was I (yes, mea culpa!) who forgot to bring in my special lug nut key to unlock the wheels. The proof of the pudding? My car drives phenomenally now ... to borrow Julia's lines from Pretty Woman: It "corners like it's on rails"!! This place is simply A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I've had better service here, but if you're looking to get in and out this is not the place. I made an appointment the day before, specifically asking them when a good time to come in would be. My car sat in the lot and did not even get looked at in the garage till I was there an hour. Then it took another hour to diagnose what was wrong. I have been to this location twice and each time the service has been great. The staff is very knowledgable and they bring the customers out the bay while thee cars are in the lifts to show them what is going on and what they are replacing or fixing. This level of detail is great for building trust in a business where tr end user does not always feel the mechanic is on the up and up. The lobby area is clean but does lack WiFi for longer waits but the TV does help to pass the time. read more

I took my car several times here. I was fully satisfied with the service done.

I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service from these folks...took a car in for an oil change, they offered other work but were not at all pushy. Made recommendations for the future and always go above and beyond (got an oil change and they reminded me my other car was due for oil change soon; I mentioned was going to sell that car and they offered to check out any car I was interested in. I bought a car, took it in for an inspection and told them the dealer still needed to fix a vibration I was feeling on the steering wheel. Mike mentioned it might be crappy gas in the engine that's been sitting for awhile and told me to run it on the highway and put some high test gas in it and that should fix the issue. I took it back to where I bought it to see what they would diagnose - they put 4 brand new tires on, didn't fix it; did a front end alignment, didn't fix it; refurbished a wheel, and still the vibration. I changed up the gas myself and drove all the crappy gas out and voila' - vibration gone! Mike & Jennifer and their team get my vote! read more

Honest shop that does great work. I've received several estimates from here, and have yet to see better pricing for the same work when I've priced it elsewhere. My girlfriend had some exhaust work done here when a Nissan dealership in Nashua wanted to charge her twice as much for work that wasn't really needed. It's best to call ahead and set an appointment if you can since their appointment books are usually pretty filled (which is a good thing). I never thought I would make a Midas my go to spot for car work, but this location is the best - they literally were awarded #1 of all the Midas locations. read more

I do not recommend going here unless you want to get completely scammed into getting stuff you do not need. I went in for an oil change. After I asked for conventional I got charged for synthetic, which yes is ok but you are suppose to do what the customer asks. After they were done the manager Mike brought me in and explained what I needed. He insisted I spend $400 on stuff that I did not need at that exact moment considering I just had my car inspected a few weeks before and passed A ok. And after I said I could not afford the $400 right now he then tried to convince me to get a credit card. After I told him I could put the air filter in myself he proceeded to give me attitude and make a remark comment on "how I wouldn't even be saving that much money if I did It myself." Although the people at the front desk were friendly, I was not a fan of the way the manger spoke to me. read more

This is the most dishonest shop you will ever encounter. We paid Midas to replace the head gasket and rear main engine seal on my wife's Volkswagen Tiguan. They used the wrong engine sealant, which ruined the engine in our car. Mike, the manager, sent the car to the VW dealership, and then lied to me in order to make us think that Volkswagen caused the damage. After the car's engine seized, potentially putting our lives in danger, we had the car towed to another VW dealership, who discovered what they had done. At this point, we demanded that they reverse the charges, and the owner Kent S, as well the district manager, Brandon, who initially told us he was he owner, refused. We called the credit card company and reported fraud, and they reversed the charges and agreed that it was fraud. We then filed a claim against the shop's insurance, and they paid for a new engine. The dealership even said that The old engine was missing parts, which Midas was at fault for. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. They have no problem putting your life in danger and then lying to you about it. The owner still refuses to even do so much as apologize. Do your research, he owns the shop up on Amherst street as well as many others. Stay away. read more

Don't trust them. They will lie about inspection details and tell you that you need repairs that are not even required to jack up the bill. Did it to my wife and son on two different cars. Failed my son on an inspection for an invalid issue and tried to tell my wife she needed struts when the dealer said they were like new. These are the types of car repair places.yiu always fear you will run into! Total rip offs! People here have said they are the number one Midas for sales....now you can see why. I had oil change at this place since last year, and the manager is terrible. I pay money for you, and I need the respect for that. I can't stand when you yell at me, "what's your name?" I made an 1130 am appointment for a state inspection. When I arrived, they told me it would take an hour because "that's how much time the state wants us to spend on each car." It took them probably 45 minutes to get my car into the garage to inspect. They kept telling me it wouldn't take long because my car is relatively new. After 90 minutes, they recommended changing my air filter and realigning one of my tires. After I said go ahead, they then asked me about the alignment several times, which to me said they hadn't even started yet. After more than two hours, my car finally passed state inspection. I wish they had just been honest with me about the time frame so I could have gone to get lunch or arranged for someone to pick me up. The whole time, they kept saying 15 more minutes. Even though a friend recommended this shop, I dont think I'll ever come back here. Not worth wasting so much time on my one day off. When I tried talking to the manager to tell him that, he kept talking over me and said I could have left at any point. He offered to give me my next oil check for free, but I dont plan on going back. read more

Good bunch of guys, the techs explained everything with my car I'm definitely bringing my families cars to them.

Great place until George left. I had been taking my car there for years with no issues. Then I has an issue with my car shaking when braking and since I had my brakes done there I brought it in to have it looked at. They looked at my car and told me that the problem was not my brakes but it was my wheel bearings. They changed the wheel bearings and it did not fix the problem. I did not feel comfortable bringing my car back and I took it to another garage where they correctly diagnosed the issue as a warped brake rotor. While they were looking at the the front end they noticed that the right front bearing was installed incorrectly and the ABS wire was rubbing and the insulation was worn. They repaired that issue and the car ran ok until this week when I started seeing issues with the ABS light coming on, turns out that the wire is bad and so I will have to replace the wheel bearings less that 6 months after Midas installed them. I have spoken with a couple of mechanics and they have told me that it is highly improbable to have both wheel bearings go at the same time. read more
