The guy at the front desk was one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with in customer service. Referred to me as a kid (I'm almost 30), made fun of me for not knowing about a specific service that he was trying to force me into buying, and was just so harsh with everything he said. They gave me a price for my oil change and then suddenly when I went to pay it was $20 higher. Also, they took my car in right away and I watched the entire time. I was warned not to go here but I needed a state inspection quickly and knew that there was nothing wrong with my Mercedes since I take it to the dealership regularly for maintenance. I didn't think they would actually try to scam me. They said I needed new brake pads and rotors to pass. When I questioned them, they even showed me the brakes and made up some make believe nonsense why they needed replacing and said they will usually allow it to pass if it's borderline. They could tell I knew nothing about car parts. I paid for the inspection and then took it to the Mercedes dealership for a 2nd opinion. They said the brakes looked perfect and the pads weren't even worn down a 1/4 of the way. I ended up loosing $48 on the Midas inspection but saved $1500 by taking it to a reputable place. I get that they have numbers and quotas to meet in order to stay open but this is not the way to do it. They would probably have more business if they were just honest and trustworthy. read more

In the case of my girlfriend's estimate was for parts over 4 times the cost and charging 4 hours of labor for what takes less than 2 hours to do. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service, management, and experience. I took my vehicle to Midas for an oil change (due to a promotion they were having) & state inspection. When I got there, I was told my vehicle (a jeep) didn't qualify for the oil change promotion because it took "extra quarts of oil than most vehicles". Furthermore, my inspection failed for the front brake pads/rotors. I was told to bring it back within 10 days and they'll re-inspect it for free. During this time, I had my brakes done by a Firestone shop and was told by the mechanic that it shouldn't have failed because the pads were above 3MM (closer to 5MM) and the Midas shop was just trying to take advantage of me. I still got them done because I needed to pass inspection. I bring it back to Midas for the inspection within the 10-day allotted time and they tell me they have to CHARGE ME AGAIN for the inspection even though management said I wouldn't have to pay to re-inspect it. Very dissatisfied with the service I received & the poor communication and transparency of this shop location in Nashua. read more

Brought my car here for state inspection. Nothing seems to be wrong with my car, and it's relatively new, 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. They come back to me saying the control rod bushings need to be replaced, brakes and there's a lake in the exhaust, and that is going to cost $1,500. I decided I can do my brakes and exhaust myself, but I let them do the control rod bushings, for $700 They replace the bushings, I take it home and replace my brakes and exhaust, and call to make an appointment to get it re-inspected. Phone tells me it's going to be either free if they did some work on it, or $25 to get re-inspected, but it will likely be free. But alas, when I show up, he says it would be another $50! Incredibly annoying, so I'm bringing this somewhere else. Also, replacing the brake pads, the old ones still looked like they had a year or two of life left... Incredibly annoying. read more

Went to DW location for inspection, was rejected, then went and repaired what I was told to repair and went back for a reinspection. They rejected me again for another reason! I watched them pull my vehicle to the door and not even enter the bay and back right up and said rejected again. even though it was suppose to be a reinspection and they didn't even do it! The state inspector that they have there is the most rudest, nasty man I have ever met! he is absolutely horrible for business! He was nasty the first time we went there and even ruder today when we went for a reinspection, which by the way we did not get! keep this nasty state Inspector hanging around, you won't have any customers left! kinda funny too the inspector was tell the manager what was gonna go on!! I took my car to change the oil and when they took the hubcap off the car, the 4 hubcaps broke and to hide the error they glued the hubcaps to me. and i only found out because i took the car to bjs to have the wheels balanced, that's when the bjs mechanic called me and showed me the broken hubcaps. he took pictures of the hubcaps. I am very un pleased with my last visit to Midas. I just bought a new car and brought it in for a Vehicle Inspection sticker. They told me it would be awhile before they could take my car in for inspection after I talked with them over the phone and they told me they would be able to take it in right away. I got a phone call because I went across the street to get something to eat and it's Midas calling saying my car looks good overall, but the back brakes will not pass unfortunately. I asked him how much it would cost to do it. He told me $600 dollar initially to do the rear brakes. I told him I don't have that kind of money right now and I will hold off on the repair. After I told him that he said he can subtract $100 if I don't want a brake line flush so he would do it for $500. I was still firm and said it's too much money for me right now I will have to hold off. The person on the phone continued to try and pressure me in purchasing new brakes by saying it will only take an hour since we already have your car on the lift. I told him no still and he told me they would have to put a rejection sticker on it so I said okay not a problem. I picked up my car and looked at the failed inspection. It said failed left rear brake lining and right rear brake lining. So I got home and ordered all the parts to do the brakes myself.... roughly $200 for all new brakes. I got all the parts and started to do the brake job myself and saw the brake linings. All the brake linings looked good to me so I looked up the NH state inspection for brake linings and it stated a minimum of 2/32 for thickness. I grabbed my caliper to measure all four of my brake linings and they all measured above the minimum requirement to pass inspection. I even compared the thickness to the new brake linings and they were almost the same! I feel like Midas was trying to take advantage of me and saying my brakes were bad when they were perfectly fine. When servicing a car for an oil change, please do not tell a college age student that their radiator is leaking, her tires are ten years old and she will be stranded on the side of the road in two weeks (as your radiator is going to go). Very nice thing to do to a 22 year old who went in for an oil change, had an appointment, and it took 90 minutes to change the oil. Nice try in getting her to add other services to her oil change. Trust me, when she gets home, i will be taking it to my mechanic to ensure the oil was even changed. Went for an inspection on my 2014 prius one week after putting new (used) tires on it, put new bulbs and windshield wipers and these scam artists wouldnt pass my inspection because they claimed i needed exactly that... new tires... new bulbs.. and new wipers. Total bologna. They even said my bumper didnt pass inspection because it was screwed in. Braked are less than 18000 miles old and they claimed i needed new brakes. Scam. Several people that day were also complaining failed inspection. Do not come here- it is a scam for people trying to get you to spend money. Dont fall for it. Do not go here. We have to inspect 4 cars in our house during the month of March. I brought my well maintained Honda Pilot to this location in March, 2019 for an inspection because they only charge $25. Nearly $700 later, I got my car back. Apparently I needed new brakes, an oil change, filters, etc. I was also told there was a nail in my tire and that I should replace all four for $600. They literally said, "it must have happened on the way over." I said no to new tires, but was told my brakes might fail and would never pass inspection anywhere else. So I agreed to new brakes but asked if I I could get a ride back to work (a few miles away.) They said sure and left me sitting outside for nearly one hour, at which point I called a work friend for a ride. Brought my car to another mechanic this week - charged me $30 to repair the tire and gave me the inspection sticker. Do not go to this Midas location in Nashua! I used to swear by this place but I came in for just an oil change today and Mike said something quickly about rebalancing my tires, but didn't say anything about cost or how long it would take so I was just like okay. I know nothing about cars. Almost 2 hours later my car was finally ready. I went to check out and they added $40 on for the rebalancing and I'm like I didn't ask for that, they made it sound complementary. So I paid it and left and had to go back because they didn't turn my maintenance light off, which they always seem to forget to do. I mentioned I was upset so they gave me a $40 credit but this means I have to go back to use it. I went in for just an oil change and it ended up taking 2 hours and cost $105 with a $10 off coupon. Not happy since they made me late too! Overall they do good work here but be careful because they will try to upsell you and make you pay for things you didn't ask for or need! read more

I had visited this Midas several times over the past year. They have done some jobs, such as oil changes and replaced a power steering pump. These jobs seemed to go alright and the guys up front were fairly helpful, albeit not always the most professional in their communication. I did not have concerns until recently when I went in for a state inspection. I had brought my car in to be dropped off after calling because they didn't want people in the waiting room, which i understand given the pandemic. This was a bit of an inconvenience, since this job only takes about an hour. I went in to find someone sitting in the lobby anyways waiting for their car, but that's none of my business. After finally getting a call back, I was told my car had failed inspection because the rear brakes are almost gone and the front ones aren't far behind. I was planning to do some other maintenance the following week with an ASE master tech, so I declined having them do that since I could get it done myself. He then added to the list that I needed brake/clutch fluid replaced (planned already), coolant replaced (done at 100k, not 60k on my car), and the tires need done with an alignment (tires are getting close, but an alignment is not necessary at this point). I declined any additional service and said I would pick up my car and come back after completing the work. This is where things got interesting. I picked up brakes to replace the front and rear pads and rotors with a certified mechanic friend and we went to work. When inspecting the brake pads from the rear, they were found to be only about half worn with at least a couple oil changes time worth left of life. I wasn't happy that this caused a failed inspection, but I wanted to be sure it passed and went ahead and replaced the pads and rotors anyways. I was told by the master technician friend that at about 3/8 of an inch these should not have failed inspection. After finishing, we moved to the front to find that they were even less worn and had barely even worn past the rounded edge portion of the pad. I left the front brakes as they were since they were clearly in good condition. I was now furious that Midas would have the audacity to tell me that my rear brakes caused me to fail inspection because they were bad and even more upset they told me that the front ones "aren't far behind." I looked up NH inspection specifications and found that 2/32 of an inch is the legal limit for when brake pads should fail. I decided to save the brake pads from the rear that I replaced and to go in and talk to the manager. I went in with the pads and asked the manager, who originally took my car in for the inspection, if he was an NH certified inspector, to which he replied that he and his mechanics are. I put the brake pads on the desk and asked whether they should have failed an inspection with the pads. He then had the gall to tell me that "yes they should" with no reasoning for it. I stated the NH state specification and said that I would either like a refund or a re-inspection free of charge. I had to debate with the manager and stated that this type of thing is slimy business practice and quite unacceptable. Eventually he agreed to waive the re-inspection fee but I had to leave my car there and it would be done in a couple hours. I agreed and had my wife pick me up. After half of the day had gone by, I called for a status update and they said it was about to go in and they would let me know when it was done. After not hearing anything for another few hours, and knowing they closed in less than an hour, I called again to be told "oh yeah, its been ready." That was just insolence at that point. I went and picked up my car. I share this story for two reasons: 1. I will never return to this Midas. 2. I have a decent amount of mechanical knowledge and was able to catch this dishonest behavior, but most people are not going to know any better and would be cheated by dishonest behavior. If i just went with it and had them do all of the work they suggested I would have been out a significant amount of money and much of it would not have been necessary at the time. It was awful, so my 2013 Nissan Rogue needed to replace its tires. I made the appointment for the tires a few days before the visit so they would have had plenty of time to order them. And on the morning of the tire change, I called to confirm they said yes it's all set. When I get there the guy said I was not in the system and they discontinued making those tires. So they just clearly don't listen and don't know what they are doing. Because the guy on the phone said it's all set but I was not in the system and the tires are not even made anymore. Came to Midas this morning for a state inspection sticker on a car I had just purchased. I was failed, told that my power steering had a leek, that I had to get my steering rack and pinion and my sway bar removed and replaced. They quoted me $1700 I took my star down the street to Cambrays to get a second opinion- they told me that there was absolutely no damage to the rack or any issues with power steering. I was misinformed by Brian (counter man) of the cost of the repairs needed for my car to "pass inspection". He told me $500 was all I needed. I have been coming to this Midas for a few years now to service my Subaru Outback not just for oil change but also for other such as transmission oil change...etc. I must say I and am very happy about the quality and timeliness of its service. The staffs are very friendly and professional. They only recommend services that are needed and charge a fair price. They will show you the areas that require services and offer full explanation for why the recommended services would be needed. My Subaru Outback has a big engine (3.6 L) and they even gave me a complete free oil change after 4 paid oil changes, not needing to pay for the additional quart of full synthetic oil! I brought my car for tires replacement and state inspection. The front desk staff is unpleasant unfriendly don't make you feel welcome. They could not sell me the tires that I wanted from there website instead sold me some more expensive tires. Came back to pick up my car. The guy at the front desk told me that it failed inspection because my throttle body wasn't working properly that it needs to be replaced, it will coast me an extra $800 to change the part. I refused and had the car checked by an other mechanic. The throttle body is working properly there is no need to replace it. The battery was weak so I had it replaced. Then drove the car for 2 weeks and checked my obd2 codes, no faulty codes, no engine light on. I went back to Midas yesterday to redo the inspection, the guy wanted to charge me again the inspection fee. Really! I will go to another place for the inspection and will never go to Midas again. Was quoted a much lower price and then overcharged for labor. When challenging the new price, the man behind the desk was condescending and "crunched some numbers" to lower the price... definitely shady if you can lower the price on the spot of the parts and labor and pretty much proves that we were being overcharged. Was recommended to get more work done than needed and was told my car would be ready between 12-1 and was not ready until 5 pm... poor service and shady dealings. Would not recommend. read more

After going here for years, they screwed me over on tires last year. A month after I get them, I get a leak in one. They tell me I ran over a nail and patch it up. All is well until today when I take my again leaking tire to Sullivan Tires in Hudson. Come to find they patched the sidewall of the tire instead of upholding their warranty deal and replacing it. So here I am about to buy 4 new tires because Midas was too cheap to replace one. They are overpriced and you will be better off finding a new place. read more

Despite making an appointment in advance for a simple state inspection, I waited nearly 2 HOURS before being informed that it would probably be ANOTHER HOUR until they'd be done! My car still hadn't moved from where I'd parked it, so I just got my keys and left. The staff were friendly enough and I understand that surprises from other customers' cars can cause delays, but I've been to plenty of garages around the country and this was ridiculous. I asked them what's the point of making appointments if simple jobs take this long, and their best answer was that this is why they prefer customers leave their cars and not wait, yet they provide chairs, AC, bathrooms, and Wi-Fi for that!
