I came here yesterday to get my inspection & oil change done. Before doing the inspection, I was told my brake pad would need to be replaced. Then they showed me the brake pad, and sure enough it was gone. Also, my caliper needed to be changed (reason my brake pad wore out so quickly). They seemed pretty honest and fair in their pricing. If I could give this place negative stars I would! First I brought my car there and told them the issue advised that the car still had power but wouldn't accelerate. Before he even checked the car he tells me it's my transmission. Didn't give me any codes, but told me it was my transmission. I left my car there for a day or so with doors locked and I come back and the items out of my car are missing. My charger was missing along with my husbands cologne, and his beats headphones. I went back to the shop and the manager tellers me that they are not libel for its missing items out of my vehicle, despite them having the keys to my locked vehicle. These people are thieves don't leave anything in your cars, and I will be reporting this to BBB. Don't trust them! read more

So I had purchased four tires online at the end of 2019 and was going to have Costco install them but apparently their new policy is that they won't install tires not purchased at Costco which is dumb because they don't even sell my size tires! Anyway, because of that, I had to find a place that WOULD install my tires for me and my friend referred me to Midas in Mineola! Tire installation was reasonably priced and done in a timely manner. The staff there was very nice and professional. I recently came back a few days ago to have my inspection and oil change done. It was actually pretty last minute but they were able to squeeze me in with no issues and I had my inspection and oil change done in a little over an hour. I had only waited 10 minutes before they brought my car in to be serviced! I brought my own filter and oil so they used that. They placed a sticker for when my next oil change is due on the corner of my windshield which was a nice reminder. Masks are required upon entry and you can either wait inside or outside (there are chairs available). I did not catch the name of the staff member that helped me inside but he was very nice, professional and pleasant. I will be returning for all my future car needs! :) read more

Typical Bait and Switch technique used. I booked an appointment online in the morning at the Mineola Midas and I was supposed to get a follow up call within the hour to confirm. I called them up several hours before my appointment and the person told me I was going to call you and he requested if I could come 30 minutes before my appointment. I got there 15 min early. I explained that I wanted an oil change and tire rotation deal I saw for $35 for synthetic blend or the $20 off full synthetic. He looked up my car and he then told me the deal would not work because my car needs another type of oil and the discount is specific, plus tire rotation would come out to be $160. He then said he can give you the $20 discount so it will cost me $140. I told him no thank you as I was not expecting to pay that much. False advertising. I recommend not wasitng you time there. They should have be truthfull from the start. I went down the block to Valvoline and I got a $25 discount and the oil change and tires rotated for $95. If they would have been truthfull of the deal, I might have considered paying their price. read more

Been bringing my car, for the past 6 month, 4 times, spent nearly $6000 on fixing axle, breaks, etc..., always asking if it was worth the fixing ( wanted to sell this car), but always had either Tat or his team telling me, you can go an extra 100,000 miles with this car... Finally found out that they didn' t check the engine at all during that whole time, and found out last week that the engine was dead and that i couldn't sell the car at all, and also charged me for getting my car dead... I was quoted $950.00 before they started repairs. When I came back to pick up the car, the bill is $1059.17. It was my understanding that the wheel alignment would be done because they changed a lower control arm. The mechanics did a great job and I appreciate their work. read more

Can't say enough good things about this location, it's owner and/or it's mechanics. They are very informative, explaining the needed repairs in as basic a way as possible for the customer to understand and IMHO they go out of their way to make the customer happy. Before visiting this Midas location, I'd been to 3 or 4 other local repair shops and was dis-satisfied not only with the price they charged but also with the quality of the mechanic's work performed. I could name the locations but I won't. Since this was years ago, they may have cleaned their act up by now though it matters not to me. I've been a very satisfied customer of This Midas of Mineola location for years and would not entrust my vehicles to any other mechanic UNLESS i had absolutely no other choice; meaning if I were out of state or many miles away. Brought my car in for an inspection and thought they could get away with failing my car and charging $600+ for repairs. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and said I could possibly need a new tire but my car is a 2017 there no reason it should fail emissions...bring it to my own mechanic (like I should have in the first place) passed in 10 minutes. They have the most important qualities that you want in a mechanic. They are honest, reliable, convenient and reasonable. I had a problem where my car was overheating and they found a loose connector to the overflow tank, repaired it and didn't even charge me because it was so simple. I believe that Lance and his crew went above and beyond to help me with my car problems and HE DIDN'T EVEN GET TO DO ANY WORK FOR MY CAR. I had brought my company car into the shop to have a few small things taken care of--but it turned out that there were more pressing needs. I ended up needing new tires, new brakes, an alignment and a few other things. Unfortunately, since I had a company car and some of the things were under warranty my fleet company wanted a dealer to look at it. I took the car to a dealer to have the work done, but the dealer's mechanic thought that there was nothing wrong with the car. The dealer spoke very condescending to me and didn't take care of things (and it took them 3 days to decide nothing was wrong with the car). I called Lance to confirm his original diagnosis. This is when he went above and beyond. Lance offered to call the dealer's mechanic to discuss the car's problems and when they weren't receptive Lance called another dealer and explained the car's problems. He even went as far as to set an appointment up for me with the 2nd dealer's shop. As I mentioned before this was at no benefit to Lance or the shop. Since then I've taken my car to this Midas for all work that was necessary. His crew is always friendly and fast. read more

Midas of Mineola is a bit of a drive from my house, yet I always go there because of the EXCELLENT service they provide. The staff there is very polite, hard-working, and efficient. They do a thorough assessment of the vehicles, and don't pressure you into having extra work performed when they make their recommendations (unlike a lot of other places that I have been to.) My experience reminds me of when I was growing up and my dad and our local mechanic became friends. I found Lance to be upfront with the brake issues on my car. He explained and showed me what was wrong and what the brakes and rotors should look like. Lance explained the various reasons why that would happen. He also gave me various options and price points for remediation. Also observing his interactions with other customers (most were return customers), it is apparent that he and his team take pride in their work and his customers know it. Money hungry crooks!!!! I saw a similar customer in another review try to get scammed by this Midas. My car rides smoothly & is uptodate on maintenance. I went in for an inspection , & Midas wanted to fail me because of a minor leak in my power steering rack, eventhough my fluids are FULL & I have NO adverse signs of low fluids or leakage. I went for a second opinion, passed the inspection and was told there was a slight leak but it would NOT cause a car to fail a New York State car iinspection. Midas quoted me $1000 for unnecessary installation. This Midas gets you in by their oil change specials, continue the relationship with a classical business savy approach about honesty & trust, but its a memorized scheme. Careful. read more
