I've been meaning to get a tire rotation on my vehicle for awhile now so I did some research on Yelp and Midas was one of the top suggested shops in the area. I tried getting some information on the Midas website for an appointment and estimate but I didn't get any response. I ended up calling the Hayward location and the gentleman on the phone quickly gave me an estimate and I booked an appointment to bring my car in. The service was quick and friendly. Also I want to point out that during the entire visit I did not feel like I was being forced any additional services that were not needed. The gentleman that assisted me pulled up a CarFax type report on my car and told me that my vehicle does not have any recalls or any additional service requirements for this visit so the tire rotation will be enough. I ended up paying $25 for the tire rotation and I mentioned to the mechanic that there's been a rattling noise in the left side of the vehicle. That quickly discovered that a screw was missing and they replaced it for me with no additional fees. I was in and out of the shop in roughly 30 minutes or so. I will definitely be back for additional maintenance on my vehicle at this Midas location. read more

Follow up... We had better views and saw damage was already there. Mitas get a 3 star for customer service. From the get go the person who serviced my car, Carlos could have came out and said, Hey I'm so sorry but damages were there already... and the gal in front could have said we have your number I will have Jason, the owner to call you back. I had go on my lunch break to speak with The owner the next Monday when he would be at the shop. My visit to Mitas with Jason was negative at first. I said I have clips on my flash we can look at and he responded with "I don't have time to look at that". Though we did view on my tiny dash cam together. I have used this Midas locations for the last 5+ years for both my own car and the wife cars but sadly that won't be the case in the future. I've used them for oil changes and replacing the brakes and although I wanted to keep supporting this place however the technicians that work there are sloppy and don't care about your vehicle. Examples are I've asked them to rotate the tires during one visit and because they were backed up the response I received during that time was your tires don't need rotating. I said how did he determine that as it was due to be rotating. He said the tread was fine. When I went home I noticed that the oil cap was not tightened and the wiper fluid cap was off. No biggie I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just said they must be busy. Another visit after getting my breaks done at Midas I noticed that one of the lug nuts was missing when I was getting new tires. I was told that they could not install the tire because the thread was damaged. Of course this was one day after I left Midas which meant they did not notify me or alert me that the car I was driving was missing this lug nut. I contacted them and the owner assured me he would address it so I brought my car down and they 'fixed' it. They informed me that they had fixed the issue thus I was happy and drove the car for months. I got another oil change from Midas and again because they didn't rotate the tires took it to another tire store. I watched them take off all three tires but could not take off the last one. It was the same tire that Midas had fixed. He called me over and stated that the lug nut was stuck on and again it is not safe driving on four nuts. So the moral of the story here ladies and gentlemen is if you think the technicians at Midas are taking the time to fix damage they have caused and leaving your car to drive in a safe manner I would disagree. Rather than going back to Midas and asking them to fix it a second time I took it to the dealership and paid the $175 for the peace of mind that it would get done safely and correctly. Again the owner I have dealt with was accommodating in the past but the technicians that do the work are sloppy and untrustworthy. In the first incident they forgot or purposely left the lug nut off as it could not be put back on and the second time to fix it they applied it but it actually did not screw on and was just there to look like all the lug nuts were on. Loss my business for good for both my vehicles. If you go here verify the work. read more

The service I received was unacceptable. The mechanic attempted to charge me for a handful of services that would have cost me more than $3200, only 500 of which I discovered I needed to spend. The mechanic changed my oil, but cited a variety of brakes, windows, and converter needs that reached a potential sum north of 3200 dollars. I paid for the oil change and contacted another mechanic for a second opinion. The other mechanic serviced my car for wipers and brakes, the only remaining service my car needed. The car has run fine, and I have 2700 more dollars than I would have had I gone to this Midas location. And for good measure, the mechanic who serviced also discovered that the Midas mechanic had spilled oil all over my motor. I am posting this review now, even though the incident I am referring to was 5 months, but that's for a specific reason. I just had my car serviced for oil and I asked the mechanics to take a look at anything that caught their attention. The gentleman cited one a flaw in the check engine light, but that was it and he can tell that it would be a simple fix. Otherwise,he felt liked fine, and certainly requires nothing that would cost 500 in repair, let alone 3200. If the services were as necessary as the .ideas mechanic suggested, they would have gotten sizeably worse to the point at which they would be noticeable. Keep in mind the mechanic whom I spoke to had his own vest interesta to justify citing more needs for the car. So now, I officially have no respect or trust in this Midas location or the methods of sales the company requires of its employees. I'll look lzoy up read more

I made an appointment Friday mid day for Saturday morning at 8 am, I arrived at 7:55 am, I noticed there was about 5 people there already, I could see they were busy after a few minutes I went up towards the counter and said that I had an appointment for 8 am and was given shrugged shoulders by the man that was behind the counter, his attitude was very nonchalant and he said I could leave my car, so I asked him for how long and he said he didn't know, and then said "well I guess it doesn't make a difference I made an appointment" and he didn't respond back, so I left and won't be back. An updated review per my last visit. I got a standard full synthetic oil change here like I've done in the past, but this time idk if they were in a hurry or have new staff, but my experience was less than great. They told me my tires will need to be replaced pretty soon, which was expected, but I still wanted the complimentary tire rotation. The total came out to about $75. When I got the car back, it felt off. It was driving weird and really shaky esp if I went past 50mph. I was one of the last cars they worked on that day, so maybe they were in a rush? I didn't notice until I had to drive on the freeway a couple days after. I had my brother take a look at it bc he works on cars, and he noticed one of the hub centric rings was cracked which was causing the shaking. I call Midas to let them know the issues I was having and about the cracked hub centric ring I discovered. They offer to look at it again, claiming someone may have forgotten to balance the tires after rotating them (also, while making it seem like it was my fault bc I was supposed to ask them to balance it and that they usually charge to do so..). I wait outside (didn't want to sit inside bc Covid) and watch them work on it. They drive it to the other garage work area in the back, meanwhile the undercarriage is dragging on the ground and one of the workers is like oh, don't worry, we'll fix that. They do a test drive around Southland and tell me my car is fixed. I asked about the hub centric ring and if that was fixed and he had no idea what I was talking about, kept giving me the run around and not really giving me any straight answers except for, "check out so and so, they're a tire shop". Wow, thanks for the unhelpful customer service. I left and the car still drove exactly the same, still very shaky, bc surprise, that ring was still cracked. Ended up taking it somewhere else to replace the whole wheels and balance them, but what a hassle and waste of time here. Won't be returning. read more

I recently took my 2010 Ford Mustang in for a check engine light. Had intermittent codes. They said it was PCM issue and gave me a fair price but it was out of my budget unfortunately. I was able to get the PCM fixed elsewhere for a lot cheaper but since I got it repaired the issue has been fixed thanks to a correct diagnosis from these guys. I called to see how long the wait was and he said there was 2 ahead of me. However he asked when can I get there and I said "right now". When I arrived they took my car right away. This Midas overcharged me today by $100 for a starter repair. I called two other Midas' for quotes and was told $520 including tax I paid $612 at this Midas. Dropped kids off to 4pm practice and told them Dad would probably have to pick them up because I had to see about a leak in my tire. I went down the street to O'Reily/Wheel Works that displayed business hours closing at 6pm. The employer was just finishing with another customer, left to the garage without even acknowledging I was in the room to then come back 5 minutes later to tell me I'd have to leave my car overnight just to even look at it. To this, I said No, thank you and made my way to Midas where I've taken my previous vehicle. Seeing that Midas closed at 5:30, I called while trying to get there to make sure they could even help me. On the phone, Midas guy did mention they would be closing soon but if I got there quick enough, they'd see what they could do. Once I arrived, they were ready to inspect the tire. Went here recently for a nail in one of my tires. I was greeted right away by Curtis as soon as I got there, which was nice (unlike my experience at another Midas in Vallejo location previously). After about a few minutes of looking at the tire, he comes back to let me know that I didn't need it fixed or replaced since the nail didn't go all the way in. I've been meaning to write a review for a while, but I like to see how my car is running first Okay, so these guys are awesome. I'm going to be honest and say that it's not always been sunshine and rainbows. I've dropped my car off and had to leave it with them for days unexpectedly without knowing when I'll get it back and that's definitely been frustrating. However, they've always done everything they can to make sure when I get my car back it runs well and they know I understand the work that's been done. They've experienced me in full blown child-like temper tantrum mode (not proud of it, but it happened) and they remained professional and helpful.
