I stopped here sometime in October because my tires felt off and they were in the area. Yeah I could have stopped anywhere else but it was rainy and I needed to stop somewhere. As soon as I parked I wasn't even a customer going in the shop, I parked near the garage and a friendly tech walked over to me and asked if I needed help, this is NOT normal. You go to a shop and the techs almost ALWAYS avoid eye contact with anyone. I mentioned my tpms light kept going on and he adjusted the air pressure. It was all good and then a few days later, the SAME THING happened again. So, I decided maybe I'll go to another shop. The tech at the other shop looked at my tire and said nope it looks fine I don't know what could be wrong and why it keeps going flat. So I just ordered new wheels and new tires and waited for them to come in because of course winter is coming and I don't want to be stranded. Before my wheels arrived I made another stop to Midas and the same tech greeted me and helped me and said, air already? I said yeah the guys at the other shop couldn't figure out what's wrong. So I mentioned there wasn't any nails or anything. So he took the time to take the wheel off.. I'm not even a customer. Just someone asking for help. He realized the valve needle(?) in my tire wasn't locked in all the way so the air wasn't staying in. He adjusted it and told me to come back if any other issues arise. I didn't go back after he fixed that and I thanked them and promised to go to their shop when my service is due. So months go by it's the end of December. I decide to do an early oil change to get ahead and see if there's anything else that needs to be done to my car, I went back to Midas as promised and the same tech was there! He loved my car and said wow you have a clean tlx! He mentioned he got an Acura recently as well. We both agreed they are beautiful and he told me something's about my car and as I waited for my oil change I chatted up with the manager and he was very kind as well. They gave me a list of things that need to be done to my car and I mentioned I got some spare parts and he mentioned if they fit my car they can use it in place of ordering to get the work done on my car. While it is pricey to get car repairs, if I could afford to have them do it all at once, honestly I would. These guys are genuinely kind. As I drove off I had noticed my car was making weird noises, they did a tire rotation for me. I called them and they invited me back and lifted my car up again and showed me that the shop that installed my wheels and tires put the wheel weights in a very awkward spot making it rub against my brake caliper. So no problem, the tech switch the wheels back and told me to demand I get that fixed because as much as he would be able to do it. He wants to be sure that I go back to the shop I went to so that the manager can see what went wrong to prevent the next customer at the other shop from having a hard time. Nice right? For context, I have a 98 volvo. I typically take it to Volvo specialty shops because most all purpose shops do not like working on them and/or have no clue what to do. About a week ago I was on my way home and my car was suddenly reeking of gasoline! I called a few auto shops in my new neighborhood as my old shops were now 25 minutes away. Midas was the only one that answered and said they could see it right away. I was in and out within 30 minutes and they didnt even charge me as the only issue was a loose cap! I came back today for an oil change, which only took 45 minutes and was $20 cheaper (with a coupon) than I normally pay (and I usually had to also leave my car at least a whole day!) All the guys are super courteous and communicate the whole time and the free inspection is incredibly valuable. I will definitely stick to Midas in the future! read more

All I asked for was a full diagnostic and this happened after driving for 30 minutes. Overheats constant. And when I bring it back. They say they couldn't look at it until the next day. The next day came. Instead of a refund they try charging me more just to even see if they messed up. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone read more

I've been using this Midas for a few years for two vehicles - oil changes, tire rotation, breaks and rotors. My last experience really bothered me and demonstrates a shift away from dedication to customers. I typically need to wait for my vehicle so I like to arrange ahead of time with an appointment. The last couple of times, I arrive for my appointment on time, and my car is sitting for an hour or two before it is even brought into the shop. Or, the vehicle is brought in, but sits for an hour with the tires off and no action. So my planned service time turns from a hour or two into four or more. This was my experience yesterday. Midas - if you are going to offer appointments, then please keep them. If you can't honor appointments, then please tell your customers when they arrive. Everyone is busy, everyone has limited time. Please honor your customers by being honest about whether you can keep your commitments. I have decided to take my service to another shop in town. I've had enough. read more

I came into Midas on a Monday morning at 8am, they completed a full inspection within an hour. Although the issue I was in for was not in the tire assembly, they checked it anyways. And I am really grateful they did! They noticed both rear calipers were leaking and also noticed that the brake pads were new. They suggested I return the vehicle to the company that completed the brake system. Very cool of them to do that! I did return to the other business and calipers were under warranty as Midas had thought. My original issue was repaired the same day by Midas in Gresham. And my calipers were replaced all because of the information they provided. Thank you!!! I really appreciated the speed of service and the care and attention they took. Lack People Skills I phoned in advance for a reservation explaining that I needed a muffler installed on a classic car. The muffler was very hard to find, so I had sourced an OEM muffler after looking for 6 months. They accepted my reservation, but failed to mention that they charge 3x their shop rate to install customer supplied parts. After a tedious half hour drive without a muffler I arrived, and after waiting for an hour, they get back to me. "$1000 to install your muffler". I thought he was joking. "We charge 3x shop rate to install customer supplied parts and it's a 3 hr job". "How much for the job if you supply the parts?", I asked. "We can't get that muffler"; "We can build you a custom exhaust", he offered. It wasn't a 3 hr job. It took the next shop 1 hour for what they charged me $150. This shop is dishonest and manipulative. I was honest with them from the beginning and they should have told me about their "customer sourced parts" policy from the beginning. I would have been insulted, but not nearly as much as being manipulated by a clear bait and switch to pressure me into buying an overpriced exhaust system. Or they simply didn't want to work on my car. Either way, tell me up front. I wouldn't have wasted 3 hours of my time--which I charge 3x my hourly labor rate for wasting ;-) For 3hrs you owe me $300! read more

THESE ARE MY GUYS!! I never usually went to "big name brand" services, cuz I like to give the local small guys my business, after being a small business owner in a previous life. Well these folks are SO WONDERFUL, I feel like I won't ever go anywhere else. They have kept my mom's '94 Honda in TIP TOP shape, and I trust them with mine now too. They've done everything from switching out a brake light (no chg!) to regular maintenance to trouble shooting the most elusive issues, and always in a friendly, professional manner, at a truly reasonable cost. ONE OF THE VERY FEW PLACES I'VE BEEN TO THAT DOESN'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MY BEING FEMALE, ALWAYS WILLING TO EXPLAIN AND ALWAYS HONEST. Ineffective and expensive! Went there for a burned-out headlight got charged $84 and it was NOT EVEN FIXED. While I was waiting there another customer got Charged $3,000 to have bolts changed on her trucks header pipes! They sat at their counter adding up "fee after fee" and laughed about it. Can't say this was a bad experience nor a good experience. As I arrived the manager checking me in made a comment about being the "4pm appointment" to me it came off like he was annoyed a scheduled their latest appointment. The check-in process was pretty slow and he wasn't able to find what kind of oil to use on my car. ( I drive a camry, pretty basic) Then told me it would be 45min to an hour. I decided to walk across the street to kill some time. After about 40min I walked back over. I went and sat inside the office which he didn't realize I had come back in. The phone rang and he was like "oh geez" and seemed annoyed that someone was calling 20min before close. He then calls me to tell me my car is ready as I am sitting in the lobby. I told him I am already there and he walks up front. Another customer also shows up and they start talking about political views etc. I don't feel those things should be discussed at the work place. Although it didn't bother me I could see other people being uncomfortable with it. He then tell me I need to replace my engine and cabin filter and gives me a price. I deny the services at this time no big deal. After checking out the guys finished up my car and pull it out. Upon looking over my inspection sheet later it appears my cars brakes really need attention. Well why was that not mentioned to me when I was checking out? Not sure I would come here again and I really do feel like the service lacked. read more

So I have been going to Gresham Midas for 7-8 years to get my oil changed I have had them do brakes on my truck in the past but for some reason now since I only get oil changes done there and they don't make enough money off me the owner informed me that they no longer want me as a customer and told me not to come back ever. I just can't believe that someone in the service industry would be so stupid to do something like this. So unless your willing to have them do a bunch of over priced work (that includes their parts and labor charge) don't go to them for automotive work of any kind. read more

I used to go to Midas for just about everything. They worked fast, were very accommodating about scheduling and usually the price came in under what was quoted to me. Well, the days of pleasant surprises are over. Twice this month, I was quoted one price on the phone, and charged more after the service. I needed *ONE* headlight bulb changed. I got a price of $24 for that. I'm broke and could not afford to pay for more than that. After the work was done, I was informed that they changed out both without asking me, and then charged me $30. May not seem like a big deal, but I was really specific that I couldn't afford to change out both. Next, I needed a door lock replaced. I was quoted $145. I was charged $169. Again, may not seem like a big deal, but when you're broke $24 will keep the lights on at home or buy some food for your family. I used to recommend this shop to everyone, I really don't know if I'll ever go back. read more

Came in only to fix my brakes and rotors, these idiots give me a free inspection, but watching them try to put my car up on the jack and take the tired off is a joke, are they all new? They were so sloppy and aggressive they BROKE MY REAR CALIBUR and then change my original quote from 250 to 600!! 600 for brakes?!?! When I told them to put my car back together he said he wouldn't give me my car back or even start putting it together until a tow truck gets here. The worst part is they BROKE THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE HOOD. Seriously? I am going to persue this matter further and take whatever action I can, I want to see cameras this is NOT okay. They won't even pay the tow truck fee. read more

Horrible service, paid for their brakes for life deal and was told I'd only have to pay labor on return for new brake pads to be installed. How the trick and mislead you is that is only for 2 pads not all 4 which they failed to mention as well as trying to up charge me for things I didn't need done... and I know this because it was at my mechanic 2 weeks ago.
