I paid big there for a brake pads rotor and caliper replacement job and the next day when I went to another place to do safety inspection and was told the brake was still sticky. I had to bring it back but the technician denied there was any issue. The owner and the managers there were obviously very dishonest and refused to fix it for me unless I pay even more. It was my first time coming to this location and it was super easy and quick to set up an appointment online. I needed an oil change and all new brakes. I drive a Ford Explorer and got all four new brake pads with life time warranty and full synthetic oil change for a little over $600. They topped off my fluids and where done within an hour or so. My tire was looking low on air the day before, put some air in it. Next day, drove to work, by lunch time the tire was absolutely flat. Oh no!!!!!! Drove a few blocks and stopped at Midas. They were able to replace the tire within 1.5 hours. Polite service. I probably should have asked for the maximum wait time, which I did not on the way in. They had to go to another store in Vienna to get the tire since they did not have my tire on hand, hence the delay. I would go back to this place for regular maintenance. read more

I think what keeps me coming to a shop is honesty, accountability, and fairness. This shop has "Honesty", hence the 2 star. However, trying make the customer responsible for your mistakes and pay for something that your employees broke, is unreal. I came in to have new tires mounted and balanced on new rims. John (I think that was his name), recommended that they take out the TPMS from the stock rims and switch them to the new set, which I agreed on. 30 mins pass and he returns, says they broke 2 of the 4 sensors. He continues to say that the sensors are $99 (probably not even the shop's cost) each-but then mentions he's just charge me for one....says that's typical. So I take a deep breath, take a seat and collect my thoughts-didn't want to say something I was gonna regret. My thoughts: This is a 2019 vehicle, with less than a 1k miles-basically brand new! I return to the counter and had to (shouldn't have to) explain how the vehicle is new, they broke not one but two TPMS, and I shouldn't be paying for the replacements. He finally, agrees (mad and mumbles as he Walks away) and mount the rest of the tires. I didn't say anything negative, just that I wasn't paying to replace Brand New parts that they broke... I am big on "ownership" and "accountability". If it was my fault, I would 100% take accountability and pay, without any questions or reservations! Had they come to me and said "if we continue with pulling these TPMS, they may break", then you put the decision on me and I would have been accountable...but not what happened. I trusted that you guys were capable, when you agreed to take the job. Honesty, accountability, and fairness because as a customer, these apply to me too! Put yourself in my shoes, would you pay to replace the sensors?? Im paying for the service, not even a question. Not the parts they broke. They are always extremely fair with their prices. As a woman everywhere I go I get discriminated against and mechanics try to charge me ridiculous prices. I have never experienced that here. I have had a headlight changed and also had an issue with my exhaust and they were extremely honest about pricing and what the issue was. Whereas the first shop I went to told me my car was basically ready to explode and they would have to do $4000 of repairs Midas let me know my exhaust was just loose and put it back into place for $30. I got my oil changed here back in October. Service and everything was great... However, I was just due for another oil change and did not go back to this Midas shop and decided to do it at home. My oil filter cover and drain plug cover are missing. I tried calling the shop and josh picked up the phone. I told him what way up and he said was no extra in the shop and a lot could have happened in that time. Yes, that's right a lot could have happened. Just weird that both were missing. I came in for an oil change today after I found everywhere else I tried to go booked up. That was a blessing in disguise. The person I dealt with was John and he was excellent. There was an issue with my drain plug, and he went out and actually showed me how it had been stripped. The first place he called for a part was really expensive, so he then went on to call other places until he could find me the best deal. He didn't have to do that but it was so appreciated. Then as I was pulling out, I noticed some spilt money in my car seat. I gathered it up and took it to him because I knew it wasn't mine. He said to me, thank you..I wasn't sure if that was yours or mine. Honesty! My visit today and dealing with John is how you gain repeat business. I will be back and they have my business now. These guys are honest! I brought my mother's car in for a brake fluid flush that a safety inspector said was necessary (though it passed inspection). Because the car is a couple years old but very low mileage, I asked the Midas employee to let me know how dirty the fluid was after the flush, out of curiosity. After taking a look at the vehicle/fluid, he came back and told me he couldn't take my money...the flush was completely unnecessary! This place has integrity. This Midas location was supposed to replace brake pads on my wife's RX330 (which my one-year-old daughter rides in daily) and put our family at risk with some of the shoddiest auto work I have ever seen. I have a couple of years in the auto industry myself, including several years of technical training, and this is one of the worst brake jobs I've come across. They used slathered grease in place of a metal shim on the pads. My wife approached the shop for a refund while I was at work and was met with aggression from the owner. I will be approaching Midas's corporate office about this, and will be broadcasting this however and wherever I can. Buyer beware. Per the mechanic who performed our VA safety inspection, who found the work last week: "On the brakes, the shop did not use any brake shim kits, instead, to fill the gap where the shim/fitting kit would go, they slathered about .25" of mechanic's grease on the backside of the pads. So much grease you can see it soaking into the metals like the brake caliper. Literally looks like they tried putting icing on a cake. It's just if you pay to have a job done, do it right, don't leave parts off like that, that's a major safety-related component." Will be attaching pictures of the brake job, see for yourself. This car service place has no bells and whistles. There's not some nice lobby or a keurig machine, but what they lack in fancy they make up for in customer service. Man, these people are nice! I came here to get a safety and emissions inspection, and I generally get stressed about mechanics the way I do about dentists. They made me feel very comfortable and were straightforward and honest about my car. They replaced a bulb, did my inspections for under 70$. I trusted them so much that I asked them to also change my oil and my windshield wipers...something I've been putting off. I will most likely only go here from here on out. read more

Brought the car here for what I thought was a dead alternator. Turns out the last guys who did the oil change checked the battery and didn't tighten the connectors properly, thus causing the car not too crank at all and making me think it was the alternator. They could have easily sold us an alternator, as we were desperate, and had no other options. They were honest and really cool to boot. They sent us off with no charge. One star is too much! Midas forced open my car hood, without my knowledge or consent, for a routine oil and air filter change, resulting in the latch to my hood being permanently broken. When I realized that my hood latch was broken (because it will not stay shut if I drive over 35mph!) I noticed that there were new scratches on my hood and the hood ornament was missing. It lead me to wonder if they used a crow bar to open my hood! When I contacted the manager Josh Curfiss about this issue, he informed me that they did have trouble opening the hood, but that his mechanic told him that the issue was fixed so they decided Not to inform me. This also means that they decided to force open my hood without getting my consent or informing me -- BEFORE causing damage to my car. When I asked Josh what he planned to do to redress this issue he said: "Nothing." Then he suggested that my car was old and therefore the hood issue was my fault. Awful! Friend refereed me to this place, First impression in my mind was this will be a nice satisfactory experience which turned out being devastated at the end. Entered in Midas, Guy on front desk was very professional. I filled out the form and sat there waiting for about two and half hour though I was third waiting in line! After that one mechanic came over and taste drove my car, showed me what are the problems and everything. He said that I can check your break pads as well as you might need them to replace soon but it will cost you $15 just to check, there were four or five things they need to perform in $15 but what he did! Just opened rear wheel, showed it to me, said that its ok for now and never performed other things for what I paid midas $15 ! He gave me overall estimate of almost $2300! Secondly, I told the guy I will think about it so he said okey I will just attach the wheel back and come back, it took him another hour to come back, I was trying to see inside the garage that why its taking too long for him to come back, my cars rear wheel was sitting there forever and he was never there for 45 minutes! No work ethics! I have been waiting there for more then FOUR HOURS and all I got was devastation. Paid $15 to someone just to open cars rear wheel and put it back which took him an hour. I would not recommend anyone to go there unless they have entire day to wait just to have so called "Midas Courtesy Check"! read more

Torch off 6 bolts, remove 2 pipes, 1 muffler; and install, muffler, 3 pipes, 3 clamps, 4 hangers, 2 bolts to the y-pipe (exhaust gasket). Local Fairfax City shop did the job in under 40 mins. (included a cigarette break), for "well less than 1/2 the Midas labor quote", included $10 tip. Do your research people! read more

Had my brakes done here. They told me that there were several issues that needed to be addressed. I waited and had my oil change and inspection at the Toyota dealer and they came up with no problems that Midas claimed to come up with. I believe they heavily tried to ramp up the costs. I always hear a lot of trash-talking on the 3 M's (Midas, Merchant's and Meineke). While some of those might be valid concerns, they have no place at this Midas. I have been coming here since 2008 with 3 different vehicles, and have always received timely and properly done repairs - even when I brought my own parts! I've had many shops refuse a job, or refuse to install my parts (I refuse to pay some ridiculous amount over cost that shops charge). Not here though, I have always been greeted with friendly, enthusiastic staff and knowledgeable mechanics. They are top notch. Rest easy if you have work done here, and if something isn't up to snuff after the job, they are ALWAYS willing to make things right and don't put up the typical "not our problem" attitude like others shops. Jobs I've had done here: -Brake system overhaul -Driveshaft U-Joint replacement -Front Strut installation (Other shops flat out refused this job, didn't wanna compress springs to get the strut in). -Numerous oil changes -Tire balancing -Alignments -Upper and lower control arm installation -Cooling system flush read more

My experience was very similar to Fairfax K.'s. This place is hit or miss. I had a state inspection done, and they were very friendly & fast. Then I brought my car in for some major work & ended up wasting a lot of money. I had to bring it back a couple days later when I continued to have problems. They said it was something else & fixed that. The next day I still had problems, so I went somewhere else, & they showed me that Midas had made some simple mistakes--used old hoses when they should have used new ones, not connected things very well, etc. I ended up trading in my car, which is what I should have done in the first place because it wasn't worth getting all the work done it. It still had some other problems that Midas hadn't noticed, & it wasn't worth putting any more money into it. The people here are very friendly & I think there are some knowledgeable people on staff, but you just don't know what you're going to get. I would not bring a car here for any major work. read more

This review is long overdue. I'm really disappointed with these guys. I took all my cars there in the past to get my break pads replaced but I guess it doesn't mean crap to them. Not only did they put my breaks backwards at one point, which I didn't even notice until I went back to replace the break pads, but they didn't even try to help me with the new replacement. There was another issue that needed to be fixed but quoted me a ridiculous price to replace a cv boot where I got it elsewhere for half the price. They force you to use their break pads with lifetime warranty because it's cheap and wears down your rotors faster so you get them replaced sooner. Why should I keep going to them when great service for loyal customers does not exist here except they only want to screw you for money. I have taken all three of my cars elsewhere. read more

Great communication, great work, great price, speedy service. Stopped by initially 6:15 PM Friday. Though front office was empty, Clint (manager and also mechanic) was brought to the front within 30 seconds. He understood my concern right away, and asked that I report back first thing in the AM, as they had several cars to complete that evening. My concern was minor, and I was glad to be given clear information about the shop's queue. Arrived at 0715 (in the morning, I switch to military time). Clint arrived at 0721, and explained he would take a few minutes to turn on the lights / reboot his computer. At 0725, he assigned me a mechanic, and gave the fellow details of my exact concern, which we recalled from the previous evening. The actual concern was installing a rubber insulator onto a tailpipe bracket. For whatever reason, the insulator needed to be stretched to install it. Skillfully, with one mechanic using a pry bar to hold the pipe, and another installing the insulator, the job was done in a few minutes. I checked my watch. The job was 100% complete at 0744, allowing time for breakfast sandwiches and coffee. read more

Came for an oil change, 2hr wait vs 1 hr promise, then the mechanic says I need svs plan B, didn't see it and flashing repair light and blinking indicator all of a sudden show after the oil change. He says I need to svs it or the warranty is void and would cost $190.00 and can't turn off the engine flashing indicator. BULL, went to another shop for emissions and they said no need, 2 yrs 25k, you're fine and turned off the light and it's all good. I would have wasted $190 for what?
