I had an oil change done on October 22, 2025, and unfortunately I later discovered a serious issue related to that service. The drain screw/plug was not properly tightened after the oil change, which caused oil to leak from my car. I didn't notice the problem earlier because I don't know much about cars and trusted that the service had been done correctly. My family noticed oil on the garage floor where I park in February 2026, which is what first made us realize something might be wrong. On March 3, 2026, I went to another mechanic for an oil change and tire rotation. That's when the mechanic checked my car and told me that the drain screw from the previous oil change hadn't been tightened properly. He also explained that this could have caused serious damage to the engine. He also advised me to go back to the original shop and report the issue, because if the engine ends up being damaged due to this mistake, the auto shop that did the oil change could be responsible. When the oil was checked, there was only about one quart left in the engine, which was very concerning. This is a basic step during an oil change, so it's disappointing that something like this was missed. Because of this experience, I personally would not trust this shop with other services in the future. I hope they improve their quality checks and are more careful when completing routine maintenance so this doesn't happen to someone else. Also, I paid full price for the service (not with a Groupon or any discount), so I expected the work to be done properly and carefully. read more

Never again. I have been going to this Midas for years. It was great. Then Mr. Patel retired. My last two visits were a total of $4,100. I own two well maintained Hondas, which are supposed to average $600-$1,000 maintenance per year. I am now looking for a new, honest auto shop. When I searched online, AI explained that Midas in NOT known for being a very honest business, and that you are wholly reliant on the manager's professionalism and ethics. 2020 Chevy Express 2500. Came in because I had two squeaks: one from the engine and the brakes. I replaced the serpentine belt and front brakes elsewhere. I asked them to look into it found the reason was due to aftermarket belt and tensioner. Was honest about needed repairs and fair pricing. Took care of me same day. No more squeaks! Had an appointment for my son's car and my wife's car for 8am oil changes today. I had to take the day off to arrange this because my wife and my schedules are opposite. Drove 3 cars there from the neighboring city in order to drop those 2 cars off for the day, only to wait for 45 minutes for someone to open the store. I called multiple times and nobody ever answered or opened the store. We finally left assuming it was not going to open for the day. I called at 9:15 and the manager Zach answered. I asked what time they open today and he said, "well we were supposed to open at 8 today but I slept in." Then told me to have a good day. He didnt care at all how that effected our day. Even though 2 people were out with injuries he did the work himself while he contacted someone to come in to help with the office. Even with the stress of the situation they both were wonderful. I loved that they do a print out for me on other items that need attention. Also they put on my phone the picts he took of the actual part of my car. WOW. I was sent to this location by my warranty company to fix the issue with my car doors. I spoke to Jason and was VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. They had my car for 2 days and he had let me know that he would call with an update. I never heard from him, so I called. When he answered the phone he said "what's up". I asked for an update on my car and he said that they would have to keep it for another day. Again I called the following day, only to be told that it was too complicated for their mechanic. I started coming here in 2013, shortly after moving to the area. I began using them for simple maintenance - mileage servicing, oil changes, etc. They were always up front about what was wrong with my car, and perhaps more importantly - what was not wrong with it. I've never been pressured into an up-sale. When I bought my challenger, I took it to the dealership for it's first (10k mileage) service, and had a horrible experience. Since then, I've used Midas in Diamond Bar exclusively. The third vehicle I had them take care of was a Toyota pickup, and I had them give it a full pre-purchase inspection for me. They gave me an itemized estimate, including noting how urgent each repair was - I used this to negotiate a fair price from the seller. I wish I would have been able to have them inspect my newest Dodge, which I purchased from back East this weekend. I brought it in today for oil change and inspection, and again - they found the issues, gave me fair pricing, and let me know which items were urgent and which were not. They finished the urgent problems the same day, and they'll take care of the rest at my next mileage service. I'm very confident that I won't have any surprises between now and then. They've helped me maintain vehicles well past when I thought I would have to get rid of them - my first two had a combined total of about 550,000 miles before losing them to collisions. I would NOT go here if you are a young woman and don't want to get scammed of your money. Nice people but they definitely over charge you and you can find great service elsewhere. I got my spark plugs fixed then a couple months later my engine light came on again. They have a warranty so i took it back to them for them to fix. They were trying to charge me again for spark plugs when it should be covered under warranty right? they saw a young girl and thought they would get me with charging me but good thing i said no and i actually went to Auto Squad Repair and they helped me and pointed out to me that they were trying to charge me again for they issue they should've fixed the first time. My daughter went to get an oil change, we had checked the website and the price they promote is $27.99, when she got there the tech didn't give her prices or any information. What a bummer. Went in to get a brake estimate, had to pay $10, with the guy behind the counter being very over-bearing and forcefully telling me "We all gotta pay up!". Okeee then...moving on to the actual inspection, I was quoted an incredible price of nearly $700 to replace my front brakes and rotors. Being that I usually replace them myself, I know the rotors were new 4 years ago and I probably had another 7-10 k miles on the organic pads I had installed. I asked to see for myself what they claimed were "unrepairable" warped rotors and pads worn down to the metal. What I observed were evenly worn, and not deeply grooved, wear on both rotors, with about 6 mil of pad left on each side, well above the indicator. They claimed both calipers were faulty and had to be replaced (?!?!?) with brand new ones. There was no indication of sticking calipers, and I knew these guys were scamming me. They wanted to do a complete rebuild of my front brakes when my car needed turned rotors and new pads. I went back in the office and asked for a detailed estimate and was refused. I paid the (now) $20 inspection fee and got a printout that said "Front axle brakes" as the item, and a hard, hard sell by the rude guy behind the counter, telling me I was leaving in a "death trap" and he was not responsible. This must work on unsuspecting customers, because he was not giving up, and seemed like he was used to bullying people. As I walked out of the shop, he was still yelling that we "all gotta pay". I went the following week to another auto shop in Chino, who gave me a reasonable estimate of $220 to turn the rotors and replace the pads. Unfortunately, when inspecting the car, I found a nice long, somewhat fresh cut on the top of my CV boot on my left wheel. I'm pretty sure this came from Midas when I refused the insane estimate for work my vehicle didn't need. Buyer beware, this shop is one to avoid. read more

They always take responsibility (not that there is much need for that as the work is good). I have found no unnecessary up selling. Service feels mediocre based on quality:cost ratio and the energy over the young mechanic(s), I think it gives off the vibe of taking advantage of people who don't know any better. It also doesn't help that they are always on their phones until the manager guy who speak with the customer says something to them. They feel robotic and quite frankly come across unreliable. I will say that the energy still feels friendly for the most part, but it feels off at times and comes off more just as a front to take advantage versus just being polite. I took my car to this Diamond Bar location a few weeks ago for just an oil change bc I had a coupon. He told me that I also needed brake pads desperately and he needed to change them asap. My car sputtered and shut off on Saturday. I checked the dipstick and the oil was completely dry. I took it to my real mechanic (Mandalay Auto) and he said they didn't put a filter plug back in that should Never be taken out for just an oil change. He also said my brake pads were totally fine! I was recommended by Costco to come here as part of their partner program but I think they should find another shop to partner with. My experience with Midas was bad and the only reason that they aren't getting one star is because the front desk manager actually refunded me. After getting my new tires from Costco, I called their Costco Auto Program that referred me to Midas to get a Wheel alignment done. I called Midas the same day, and did not mention I was referred by Costco. A gentleman at Midas told me the price and I told him I will be in the next day which they said they would be available at 11am. The next day, I called again, asking the same thing as a random customer, and again I was told the same price the day before so I take my car to the shop. Once I get to the shop the gentleman was very nice and this time i asked how much for a wheel alignment and I was told the same price as on the phone. Then I mentioned I was referred by Costco and have a 15% off coupon from Costco. The gentleman then said, "oh that price is the price for Costco members". That was the first red flag. He didn't check to see if I even had a Costco card or ask for the coupon. He also gave me a original price which did not match up to the "Costco" price after 15% off. I decided I didn't have time to argue, so I'll just pay their normal fee and have them do the work on my car. I was told it would take an hour and I went down the street to grab some food. After I returned to pick up my car, he handed me my receipt, which didn't have the alignment numbers, which was odd because this was not my first time getting an alignment and usually I get to see the numbers of different they are from before the alignment and after. The manager didn't mention anything charged me, handed me my keys and said everything is good to go. I trusted him and drove off. It only took me a minute to realize, that my car was still not aligned. I called Midas again and told the manager that my car doesn't feel aligned because it was still pulling to one side. The manager gets angry and says that's wrong, we use a computer to align it so everything should be good. I said, nope its not so he said to bring it back. I drive back and this time I stay to see everything done, and to my surprise and apparently theirs, my car was NOT aligned. Then they ask me did I do anything to the car after the alignment because it was aligned when I left. I told them I drove no more than 5 minutes so there's no way anything could have changed. Then after talking to the mechanic, they tell me that my car cannot be properly aligned due to some special tools they are missing. Funny how they didn't bother to mention this when I picked up my car. After wasting another 1.5 hrs there, finally I was offered a refund. Overall, I'd steer clear of this place. Few key points from this experience: 1. Manager lied about the price charged me normal price and didn't give me a Costco member discount, considering they are part of the Costco Auto program. I will be reporting this to Costco to have them investigate. 2. May not have done my alignment at all and just let my car sit there for 1 hour and claimed they did it. OR did do it, saw there was an issue but decided to not mention anything because they knew since my car was not aligned they would have to issue me a refund. 3. Wasted 2.5 hours of my time for a wheel alignment that should be done right the first time or at least notified me if they could not so I could go elsewhere. It was a horrible experience, and I will be notifying Midas and Costco about this shop and its business practices. If you need an alignment, plenty of other shops to go to. Do your research, call and get a quote first, and if the quote doesn't match up when you actually get there, that's a red flag to go somewhere else. read more
