Oliver has been the mechanic for my family's Hondas for 2 decades. We've only ever had Honda/Acura vehicles. He's trustworthy, knowledgeable, and always provides very good service in a timely manner. Would recommend him and his shop to anyone with a Honda, new and older models!!! read more

Oliver is professional and honest. I brought my car in for recommendations the dealer wanted to be done for the car. Oliver took a look and informed me that the recommended replacements are not needed. There was just normal wear but nothing broken. I like how he does not upsell you and just honest on what needs to be done. read more

Oliver at Vtec automotive is amazing! I've been coming here about 5 years and will not take my Honda anywhere else. My car is at 205k miles and still running smooth with no problems. I've had many different services done by Oliver and every time it's great honest work! read more

I just called for an oil change, but the person that answered said that they didn't have time today. I asked how about tomorrow, and the person said no, it is all booked up. I then asked about next week, and that's when the person asked if I visited before. I said no this is my first time, and that's when the person said they only service regular customers. What is the point of the ratings if this Company doesn't allow any new customers? I'm not giving a bad rating since I have not done service here, but if a Company refuses service to new customers, then they should put up a posting/notice for potential new customers. This is more than fair for both parties to be aware of. read more

Friendly and reasonably priced. Excellent mechanics. Must make appointment, but I find that much better than just going in and not getting a realistic time estimate. read more

So happy we found this auto shop. They were able to finish my oil change in a timely manner. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable he even noticed the front light bulb was out and changed it while my car was there for its oil change. If you need an honest place to have your vehicle serviced this is it! read more

Walked in some hours after they opened and asked for some routine service/ maintenance (oil change, tire rotation, fluid top off, etc.) and a cargo hook replacement ( in the back area) of my Pilot. Guy simply points to some random chart on the wall and asks what number I want. Not being a car guru or knowing wtf Im looking at on the wall, I simply state that my vehicle is at 20%. He states my vehicle needs an oil change at 15% and not 20%. Well for me, 20% is close enough to 15% and I'd rather not wait until 15%, as I have a lot of miles to drive each day and I don't have every single day of the week off/free to bring my car in for service. Based on this first visit and first impressions, I'll stick with my reg mech in Rowland. Thanks, but no thanks on this spot. read more

Oliver is the best for your Honda and Acura needs! My parents have gotten Honda's just so we can stay with him. He's very honest, kind, and upfront of what your car needs fixing and doesn't. He's usually working on cars by himself or with one other so he doesn't always answer the phone right away but he always gets back to me within the hour. read more

When I took my Acura MDX to see Oliver, I wasn't expecting much after two other places(including a dealership) giving me very bad news(PCM fried and they couldn't find the part), but within one 24 hours after dropped off the vehicle, not only it was done with repairs, but it's less than half of what was quoted by the previous mechanics, and more than triple the warranty on the work! I'm more than grateful but totally impressed It's been over a week, and the vehicle is still performing perfectly. If anyone needs work done on their Honda/Acura cars, Oliver is your man read more

Oliver is an honest mechanic. This is the first time in a long time that i left a mechanic shop without feeling like i got scammed. I have a 2006 Honda Pilot with 200k and the check engine light has been on and was reading that the cylinders was misfiring. I got the drive belts and timing belts done too along with one of the engine mounts which was cracked already. Oliver was impressed that i keep the truck well maintained. So far truck runs great. Will definitely come back again for the next service. read more

I've lived in Diamond Bar for over 30 years now. I needed a local Honda mechanic that was knowledgeable and honest, and Oliver, fit the requirements . My son owns a 2016 Odyssey, it has issues, the vehicle alarm kept going off, so much, that it wore out the battery, after replacing it, it continued to set off the alarm, he had th leave the van unlocked. He brought it to he local dealer, they claimed, nothing wrong , he took it to inlaw's family garage, couldn't find any issues. This went on for months, couldn't drive it.when he informed me about it, I recommended my local Honda mechanic. Oliver, determined it was electrical, Honda dealership would only sell entire fuse box assembly, with built in relay, at $$$. Oliver found a used box, it had to be shipped in, waiting a week later, it was replaced. So far, no more issues, it been 2 days now. Yeah for Vtec and Oliver, did a great job again. read more

Oliver is simply the most honest mechanic you will ever meet. Best thing I ever did was take my Honda Pilot to him.

Wanted to take a car I just bought here to check everything is in good working conditon. I called after seeing the reviews and when I told him I bought a 2003 civic for commuting he literally laughed and told me all the problems this model year has. He then told me to take it to diamond honda like another reviewer wrote. After seeing all the positive reviews I was surprised to see how this guy treated possible customers. I guess he's so busy he doesn't need work but maybe this will sway another possible customer from giving this guy buisness. "Fuji Auto" ended up doing work on my car. read more

They took care of me on my lunch break much appreciated. First time there and I'll definitely be back.

First time going to this mechanic and i usually just go to Honda. Was super nice and helpful for it being my first time at his shop for a simple B1 service. He also gave me some pointers and seems really really knowledgeable about Civics. He also advised me to get an alignment which unfortunately he doesn't do but it was really thoughtful of him to recommend me that advise. Will definitely have my car serviced here next visit!! Thanks so much Oliver you are the best read more

After purchasing an used Honda CR-V in 2007 from a friend, he recommended me to do maintenance at V-Tec as he always did. Oliver had been taking care our cars since then. I only went to dealer's shop for recalls and repairs under warranty. All my new cars are Honda's because Oliver only works on Honda and Acura cars. And I can't find another mechanic who is trustworthy as Oliver is. His charge is reasonable and never recommended unnecessary works. (He doesn't have time for those works either.) I am a little worried about where I can go if I move out of the town or after Oliver retires. But I will be a loyal customer of V-etc until the day comes. read more

The mechanic/owner of this place is like the uncle you would go to if you want an honest trustworthy person to find out and fix the weird noise coming out of your engine. I trust this place whole heartedly, even more than the dealership mechanic to do the job right for a reasonable price. Sure he doesn't have the fluff like coffee and bagels while you wait but I don't really need that stuff when i want quality work. read more

This time I brought my RDX for routine A17 service. Made an appointment, and out in an hour. Had I brought it to dealership, it would be 2 - 4 hours even with an appointment. What would I do at a place so far away from home? This is my third Acura. Love the brand and quality. I always got honest and quality work from Vtec. The repair cost is very compatible. Great value. Highly recommend this shop for your Acura needs. read more

Oliver is the most reliable and honest auto tech I've ever seen. I have business with him for 5 years and he's been providing great service to my Honda Accord. I will recommend him to everyone I know. read more

Honest and fair priced, advise well taken.. why not be honest, VTEC proves that straight up front...

I have been coming here for over a decade now but realized I never wrote a review. I highly recommend Vtec and Oliver. He is a very skilled and super honest (basically the primary things I look for in an automechanic). In the past, Oliver has always been upfront with what my car needs (or doesn't need) and he charges a fair price. Haha, in 2014, when I upgraded from my Civic, I even bought an Acura and took into account that I wanted to keep coming to VTEC in my decisuon. My brother and mother also started taking their cars to VTEC and they also have very postive experiences. read more

Was recommended to this shop by a friend who uses this mechanic. The owner does not take on new business unless you are a regular. Usually, that would not prompt a negative review, but unfortunately the rudeness of the respone does. read more

Oliver's knowledgeable and helpful, always go to service my Accord. Needed to do a smog test, he scanned and found two issues - the cat and evap. He told me to go for a drive, bout 50 miles, came back and the cat was good but not evap. Drove a good amount for work, came back a week later and all was good. Much appreciation for the time and help! read more

Visited this place many times. Bf (now hubby) has always gone to at least get a second opinion, while I normally come over here to top off on liquids and get a quick maintenance check. Service is excellent. The owner is on point, very honest, and tells you what you need to hear. Which means that if something can go for another thousand miles or so, just come back later and get it done after the thousand miles. He'll take care of things that are important to do, but will not do anything major unless you want it done. He knows his stuff, and can truly tell the history of a car. For example, he had an idea that I probably purchased the car used, and had an idea of how the previous owner drove the car. Very interesting deduction skills! :) Plus, he's super-nice, knowledgeable, and very professional. For seats, there are two chairs inside the office, and two chairs outside the office. Otherwise, you can do what the hubby and I do, which is walk around the area until the car is ready. Prices are very fair. Will be back. :) Be warned that he gets very busy on Saturdays (closed Sundays), and any major work to be done near the holidays will be very difficult for him to do unless you come on a weekday. read more

Oliver did an outstanding job on changing the timing belt on my Acura mdx as well as other maintenance that is required on the vehicle. He has been very resourceful in proving good sound second opinion with an issue involving front suspension. Thank you so much Oliver! He is a mechanic I trust with all my Acura needs. read more

Thank you fellow Yelper Joey for the recommendation! My old gal was being cranky in the mornings and just didn't want to start. Kind of like me not wanting to get out of bed. I didn't want to get stranded, so I brought her to see Oliver. He diagnosed a bad starter and fixed her up before the time promised. No more Honda dealerships for me! If you read all the other reviews, you'll see that Oliver has a very loyal customer base. Yelper Joey knows best! read more

I have been going to Oliver and VTECH automotive in Diamond Bar since 2000. He is the most upfront, honest, fair, and dependable mechanic I have met bar none. You come to him with a problem and he will fix it with NO UPSALE or UNNECESSARY parts and he will get it done in a timely manner. I HIGHLY recommend anyone with a Honda/Acura to trust Oliver to get the job done and know your vehicle is in GREAT hands. read more

Oliver is one reliable mechanic. I've taken my `06 Ridgeline there several times, from regular maintenance to major repair (axle, A/C, power-lock). He is always responsive and take pride in his work. If he is not too busy handling his job queue, he is always friendly and open to share his knowledge about Honda/Acura cars. I've had MB, Audi, BMW before, but I've stayed with Honda for a long time simply because of brand reliability and trust-worthiness of the mechanic. P.S. please respect Oliver schedule, if you drop in without prior calling, you might have less pleasant experience. read more

Oliver is a kind and honest mechanic. He doesn't oversell you and is merely looking for both you and your car's best interest. I have gone back to get serviced many times and his service is quick and simple. It's important for you to call ahead because he will let you know what time he will be able to service the car and shorten the time you need to wait to get your car back. Not only is the service quick, it is reliable and I've never had any problems with getting my vehicle maintained at this shop. Finding a trustworthy mechanic isn't easy, but I know that I will be sticking to this mechanic shop. Oliver uses OEM parts and is patient in explaining things to you. He will also look out for other things to keep your vehicle safe such as recommended tire and alignment repairs even though he doesn't do that service. I recommend bringing your car in on a weekday because they are less busy. read more

Just came in for a brake job and had a wonderful experience. Oliver's extremely nice, honest and is willing to listen to any problems you have or have had with the car and give advice about it. Don't have to worry about skirting around issues or BS; he just tells it how he sees it. I came in just for the brake job, and asked him to look at my AC unit, which needed its Freon gas charged after an AC condenser replacement. Came back an hour and a half later, and he gave back my keys with a huge grin on his face. I went in to pay, drove off, and saw that my AC was working again! Drove back to ask him about it, and he casually said "I just recharged it for you, no charge; it's in the invoice." He probably saw the DoorDash and PostMates bags in the car and just did it as a courtesy. Extremely considerate. Will be coming back in the future! read more

V-tec Diamond Bar is the best Oliver does a great job at a fair price. He keeps my CRV in top shape. Highly recommend.

Oliver is a great guy, a really honest, fair and ethical person. He won't sell you repairs you don't need. He will even do some minor repairs for free. We have an old 1998 Honda Accord that already has more than 280,000 miles. We love the car. My daughter is driving it and Oliver understands how important it is to keep the car road worthy but also understands our budget and keeping the cost down. One time, while we were out of town, the check engine light came on. When you are a thousand miles away from your kids, it sure helps a lot when you can have some you can trust to help and take care of these things so my daughter can be back on the road. And he did not charge a penny for the diagnosis! What a guy. He is like family to me. Too bad he only takes Honda and Acura vehicles. Would have liked him to take care of my Toyotas. He's the reason I am consider just buying Honda cars in the future. read more

Oliver is reliable, fast, honest, and no nonsense type of a person. After our mechanic retired, a friend suggested Oliver to us. We took our car to him and the rest is history. WORST BUSINESS.....EVER! Are you kidding me? Who's paying these people to write him 5 star reviews? I'm quite sure it's the owner himself. We were disappointed and let down by the place. RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE. My friend, who also used him, got ripped off by $3500. BE CAREFUL! Anyway, onward with my experience -- I called in on a Friday morning to inquire about getting a new timing belt for my car. Was completely let down as we arrived. Owner (Oliver) decided to be extremely rude and patronizing towards us. When we asked when he was available to help me with my timing belt, he says "COME BACK TUESDAY. " Apparently he's too busy and good for us. Really? He also says that he won't take a look at my vehicle at all. Super arrogant. I took a look at his shop. Realllllly? It's not all that. I've seen WAY, WAY BETTER, especially in the cities of LA and OC. Who the F does he think he is? Without wincing, we walked out of there and headed over to a close family's BODY SHOP even though it was an hour away. He took us in without question, without having to speak a word. All I handed him were my keys. He also didn't charge us for labor. at all. Oh my god. I literally experienced the night vs. day of service. Because of this - Oliver, at this place, will NEVER get any business from me or my family. And I'll tell ALL of my friends that I know. His lack of PROFESSIONALISM is evident but the people around this neighborhood are too ignorant to know. Better run before you end up getting ripped off or treated like crap! read more
