Midas has this great offer to patch up any tire you suspect to have a leak, for free. I was in and out in an hour and my tire did have a nail in it which they patched up. I did have to return back to the shop after finding out they forgot to put the tire pressure cap back on the tire. Which wouldn't have been a big issue if that same tire wasn't also low on air. I think this is a great shop that offers honest work for a franchise, it's the small things that matter when dealing with someone's car. read more

This Midas kind of sucks. Not only brakes and rotors for over $1000 which is fine. I was expecting to pay that when I went to pick up my car. The light on my desk are still showing that I needed a new brake pads they told me I could come in the following week and they would do it for free and then it was already included in what I paid. I went back on two separate occasions trying to get it fixed for free since I already paid for the brakes and rotors multiple people that work there kept saying yeah it shouldn't cost anything when I come back in. They'll do it for free and every time they lift my car up and say it was gonna be $300 to get the light removed. It is over a year ago and I just went to tire discounter to get a new tire. They fixed my brake sensor free of charge. I can't believe the place is over $1000 that to get new brake was gonna charge me 300$. Everyone at this location is nice but I would never go back knowing what I now know. read more

I waited 3 days for them to change one tire & oil. Was already annoyed. Got a tire changed and they sent me out with a loose rattling wheel. Then got that comped. Broke the tire pressure sensor too. Got an oil change, went in with no lights on, left with low oil & engine light on. Checked dipstick (looked okay) & checked codes, said "nothing wrong with oil". Boss wanted to work on car more & refused to comp my oil change otherwise. My dad advised me to go somewhere else or they'd just break more stuff. Now I'm at Elite Automotive in Covington, they are amazing. Thorough inspection with pics & well priced. Fast too. They found an internal oil leak that Midas was unable to locate and fixed it same day I dropped off. I'm pretty sure the mechanic managed to cause that internal leak as I had absolutely no issues with that before the oil changed. I really liked this Midas until I went in for my front and rear differential to be emptied. I first went for my tire rotation and then for a oil change. When I was was there for the tire rotation I asked about the differentials to see what it would cost. They looked it up and said $99.00 for each I said ok. I went back for the oil change and asked again they looked it up and said $99.00 for each I said ok. I later made an appointment and went in for the service, after 2-1/2 hours the franchise owner who by the way was the same person that said $99.00 each after my oil change said it would be OVER $400.00. When I asked what happened to $99.00 each I was told that they had to use some special oil for the rear differential. I think that if you looked in the computer to tell me it was $99.00 right after I just had an oil change that would be something you would have known. Since I wasn't going to pay $400 plus I was charged $35 for them to tell me it was going to be over $400.00. Needless to say I'm going to Valvolin who said it is $99 for the front and rear differential that includes the manufacturers recommended oil for the rear. I'm very disappointed . read more

Spoke to the general manager and district manager who both told me it was not their problem they weren't gonna do anything to help me fix it. Had to take it to the dealership, and the dealership told me the issue was related to the work that they did on my car. So not only did I have to pay the bill down there I had to pay a new bill at the dealership. Gary, the district manager told me to take them to court. This was some of the worst customer service I have had in a while. I came in and asked if they could help me replace my license plate. I am in no means a mean person. I wanted to explain to them that I had a dead screw and needed only one plate changed but he did not care to hear at all and pretty much waived me off. He gave the mechanic my key who then went to inspect my car but probably had no idea what i wanted. So i went outside to go talk to him and explain to him what i wanted done and was also extremely. Went here to get an oil change and brake pads on my Jetta. Called a week in advance to drop the car off at 8am so i could get a ride back to work and so the car would be done by noon. That afternoon I'm told I need new rotors, tires and a battery which would have been 1400 bucks as opposed to 200 or so. I caved for the rotors; big mistake. Next thing I know its 4pm and they still have my car. at 5pm after being in the waiting room for 4 hours they tell me they cant find the rotors for my car but I can come back tomorrow. Needless to say i asked for my money back and my car as well. The staff was helpful and I know they did their best and honestly, I could tell they cared and felt bad they couldn't help me, but I will not be going to a Midas anytime soon to get something worked on. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change and mentioned that I would be on my lunch break. I showed up on time, and was told that it would be at least 45 minutes before they could even look at my car. The gentleman at the desk was friendly and polite, but his confusion made it seem like my appointment wasn't in their system. He told me that he would reduce the price to $15 if I would reschedule for the following week, which I did. I show up the next week, and a different gentleman checks me in and takes my keys. One hour later and I can see my car has remained parked. I told him that I needed my keys and had to leave. He went into the garage bay and I saw him talking to the gentleman from my first attempt for several minutes (literally). He came back out front, started talking to someone else, and handed me my keys without a word. My choice for routine maintenance was a coin flip between the Midas on my way to work or the mom-and-pop place in my neighborhood. At least my decision was made for me. read more

I could have died or been seriously injured due to the absolute negligence of the technicians at this shop. All I asked for was an oil change, but they decided to do an inspection in order to convince me to spend more money. After more than 2 hours of waiting for my car, I tried to drive out of the parking lot, and as I got through the light at Taft and Reading Roads, my back wheels flew off the car and the car bottomed out. This is one of the busiest intersections in my neighborhood (right off exit 3 on 71 south), and I was extremely lucky that although my car was severely damaged, I experienced no physical harm. However, this was one of the scariest and most traumatizing experiences of my life, and Midas did very little to remedy the situation. DO NOT take your car to this shop unless you are willing to put your life in danger! If I could give this store 0 starts, I would. I believe they took advantage of me, because I am a young woman who appears naive when it comes to cars, and due to their negligence, my life was put at undue risk. read more

Last August the check engine light came on in my car, so naturally, I took it to have the code read. I went to multiple auto parts shops and read the code for free with code readers. They all read the same code which told me that I had a bad 3-2 shift solenoid on my transmission. I took it to Midas and told them the exact code and the problem and asked if it's something they could do. The manager said they'd take a look at it but it was definitely something he could do. He then told me that he would have to charge me for a code read ($80) but that would just be applied to the cost of repairs and that it was just a formality. 45 minutes later he comes back out and tells me that I was correct, that it was the O2 sensor but they can't fix it and I would have to go somewhere else for the repair. I asked for my money back and was then put in contact with the District Manager (Whose name I believe was Gary) who tried giving me the run around as well, saying that he would have to call in and talk to the manager another time despite the fact that I called from the Midas while the manager was still there. Despite my obvious frustration with the situation, Gary told me he'd call me back the next day. Not only did he not call me back the next day, but he dodged my calls the next 2 days as well. Finally when I got a hold of him he told me that he'd call me back the next day after he talked to the manager who had supposedly been off. I then had to call him at 6 pm the next day because he still hadn't called me. He then told me that they have a no refund policy and the best he could do was 3 free oil changes because he still had to pay the men for labor (labor that they shouldn't have been doing because I told them the problem and the manager lied to me saying that he could fix it, when he clearly knew he couldn't and just wanted to charge me the $80 for the code read). Needless to say I was beyond furious with the entire situation and refuse to spend a single dime at this Midas ever again. They will do whatever it takes in order to get your money, including lie to your face. I cannot emphasize enough how terrible this Midas is! Do not go to it EVER! Even if you're knowledgable about the problem, they'll still find a way to steal your money! read more

Midas will not price match. We were quoted a price for tires almost double what was found online (same brand and model number). We ordered tires online & shipped to the store, only to find out the Midas employee told us the wrong size tire. We had to pay to ship the old tires back and to ship the new tires to Midas. We asked the employee for a discount because he made a mistake. He not only refused to acknowledge that he made the mistake, but also refused any sort of discount for loss of time and money.
