Absolutely absurd. Do not waste your time. They gave me a 1.5 hour time for it to be done, I get back 2 hours later and it has not even been started yet. One of the mechanics says he will call me in about 45 minutes but it is 6 pm closing time, and no call. Normally when you spend from 12:30 (start of appointment) to 6 pm with a car and you are doing a quote "quick job" it should not take that long. Went in for oil change with free tire rotation. Picked up vehicle, tires weren't rotated. They had an obvious rookie do it - took way too long. A few weeks later, I noticed a thumping that got increasingly louder. Hubby checked, found loose lug nuts on front tires, one had fallen off. When confronted, they denied it was their doing. Told me my brakes were bad, and that was causing the thumping. Yes, my brakes were bad, but as soon as the lug nuts were tightened, there was no more thumping. Rip off took car in there for my bulbs to be changed for my brake light. They told me I had electrical problems and had to have them check it out for 99 plus labor. I took it to the dealership and it was only my bulbs that needed changed. I called the supervisor and he hung up on me. Beware more so if you are a woman they will rip you off read more

Went in for an oil change about 2 months ago, and had a pleasant experience. Unlike other big oil change places Midas respected the reason I came in for, just an oil change. Took a little bit longer than I had hoped since I called ahead to schedule my oil change but really I was just happy they didn't try to convince me to buy anything else. They put their stickers for 3k miles, although if I had asked maybe they would have put 5k like my manual says. Didn't try and sell me on semi/full synthetic which was again respectful and appreciated. Would definitely go again for an oil change, possibly for other repairs. read more

I had problem between the exhaust and catalytic converter, and had Midas fix it last November - they said the parts had almost separated at the time. 9 months later, I have the same problem. I showed it to a mechanic friend of mine - he said Midas did a crappy job and just clamped the two pieces together - any respectable mechanic would not do the job that was done by Midas. I took it back to Midas and asked them whats going on - if it was fixed not even a year ago, why did the same problem happen again? I asked them that if parts are supposed to be welded together - why weren't they welded on properly. The guy didn't give me much feedback - he showed me that the parts have separated completely. When I asked what they did last time, he didn't know what was done and said "It was a special job". The clamp that my friend had pointed out the day before was not even there anymore. Horrible, and expensive - they gave me a quote of $600 to get it "properly repaired" - several parts are in very good condition, and Midas wants to change them too for no reason. My car seems to have more damage now then it did before I took it to Midas. read more

Don't ever come here. EVER! They are the biggest jerks (I would use something different but its an online review) and crooks. I went in in october to get 4 new tires put on my car. When they were done they asked if I wanted an alignment bust said that they took it for a drive and everything was running right so I really didnt need one. I dont know much about cars and they seemed nice so I said whatever you think is best. So on Saturday (3/30/2013) I went in to get my car inspected and they told me they couldn't pass my car because the tire on the front drivers side was worn down. To which I asked how they could be because they are new tires. He told me they weren't aligned right. So, I called Midas and explained the situation and they have dodged my call. I finally called them again this morning and at first told me I didn't buy all 4 tires from them that I only bought 2. Essentially calling me a liar. Then he looked in his system and found that I did and told me that he will see what he can do. Unacceptable. They didn't do what they were supposed to do. So I called corporate and filed a complaint with them and filed a complaint with the attorney generals. Stay away from them. They are awful. read more

Have NOT fix my exhaust problem, made it even WORSE I went to Billerica Midas on 06/10/2013 to repair exhaust leakage. At first, the manger asked me that he needs to a smoke test to check where the exhaust leaks and the fee is $45. Of course, I let him to do the smoke test otherwise the leakage position cannot be detected easily. After smoke test, the manager said they found the leak and can change some parts and do some work to fix the leak. Well, I thought they could fix and then let them do it. The price they charge me at that time was $319.17. Then they spent a morning to wed and use some glue to patch the leakage. But, that was not the end. After they finished the first around, I asked if the leakage is fixed or not as the engine seems still very loud. The manager said it could be 50/50. Well, I how could I spend more than $300 but not to fix the problem? Then the manager said your muffler could also be leak as the smoke test cannot find it as it happens inside. And the manager said he can make a deal to also change the muffle with the price of $550 for the total. At this step, I had no choice as I want to make the leak fixed. So I let them do it and ask them to get $50 off. Then they cut my muffle off and weld a new one on it. The story does not end. After they finished and I paid $501.96, I went to the inspection station. The inspection guy said it still leak. Even worse, it is that exhaust gas together with strange smell leaks into interior of the car even if I fully open the window. They charged me $501.96, but not fixed the exhaust leakage but made it worse than repair it before. Now the leaked exhaust gas made me suffocate if I do not fully open the window. I am so frustrate about this service at Billerica Midas and regret not read the reviews before I went there . read more

Highway robbery! Do not take your car to that place. I brought my car to Midas Billerica for an oil leak repair. The dude charged me parts and labor then told me to drive the car for a few days if I still had the leak to bring the car back. Actually, the leak got worse. When I brought the car back a few days later, he said they fixed the wrong problem and that I needed to pay labor and parts again for them to repair the leak! The dude knew the car was not fixed the first time. That is how they operate. I was going to have them change my tires and repair the brake pads of my wife's car...Eek! Methinks not. These guys are absolute THIEVES! It's a complete chop shop. I paid to get my brakes done and they convinced me I needed a master cylinder which I probably didn't and then put the wrong pads on my car TWICE. After I brought the car in the second time, they claimed they put the "premium" pads on the car and then 2 days later they were squeaking again. I had to waste 3 hours out of my day to wait for them to do the second job because they didn't even have the pads at the place. Advanced Auto parts had to deliver the pads to them. Obviously I am boiling up at this point and I call the owner threatening legal action because the brakes are squeaking so loud, you can hear me coming a mile away. The owner promised he would put the right factory parts on the car if I brought it back one last time, so I did. When I bring it back, they claim I need calipers which they didn't mention the 2 previous times. Obviously I need calipers because the calibration is off because they put the wrong equipment on the car twice. They had the nerve to ask me to pay for the calipers and would not replace. Better yet, when I left they wouldn't provide me any paperwork stating what parts they put on the car (they claimed they put factory pads on it). So now I spent $1300 and my brakes still aren't fixed. I have a complaint in with their corporate customer service, but if I don't get my money back I am taking legal action. STAY AWAY! Had a very poor experience here. I went in to retrieve a $19.99 oil change special and the manager immediately went into the upsell. He (probably correctly) told me that synthetic oil is the recommended oil for my Acura, but the way he did it was classic upsell... "You'll void your warranty and I will be forced to enter this into CarFax that you didn't maintain your vehicle which will reduce your car's value"... I feel I was substantially overcharged at $66 for this oil change. I ended up going against my instincts and having them do the oil change. But almost walked out on principle and to the dealer or Jiffy Lube. Next time to Jiffy Lube and not to hear.. I won't be back... read more

I've had a few oil changes and my alternator replaced here. Staff is very friendly. Went in for an oil change without an appointment, and my car was ready in just under an hour. Most recently, during an oil change, a staff member noticed a few issues that needed attention. He offered to show me exactly what/where the issues were rather than just tell me. I really appreciated this because I admittedly do not know a lot about cars and am always worried someone might just be trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge. However, in my opinion, their prices for services other than basic maintenance seem a little high, but I'd assume this is the case vs. smaller local shops. read more

Worst oil change experience ever. I got a coupon from them for a price that includes oil change and tire rotation. They charged me more than what the coupon stated because the SUV requires more oil than a sedan, which, of course, is written in the fine print. That's fine. I've seen this before. Not a big deal. But they wouldn't honor the tire rotation, which is clearly stated in the coupon to be included. The explanation is "Midas decided not to honor the tire change any more". Unacceptable. If you change your policy, at least honor the coupon you already gave out. OK, the worst came: Every time they did an oil change, they make my car a mess with black oils, my seat, door, steering wheel are all covered with black greasy oil. Gross! At first I thought it was a careless technician that made a mistake. I gave them a second chance the next time I needed an oil change since they are the closest to my home. However, they screwed it up again! Again! All covered with black greasy oil!!! Totally unacceptable! Never ever going there again. Please stay away. Or try it once. Purchased a Groupon for oil change, tire rotation, and brake check because it seemed like a good deal. Scheduled an appoint online and they gave me a two hour time frame 3:30-5:30 and was sent an email confirming this time slot. Drove an hour from my home to location and when I arrived I was told I did not have an appointment and was told they were all booked up. I was told i could come back tomorrow or wait two hours and possibly have my car taken. Considering it took me an hour travel time i told them i could not come back the next day and could not wait around for 2 hours in an area that i was not acquainted with. Horrible customer service i would definitely not return and I am currently trying to find out how to refund the Groupon . DO NOT GO THERE !!!!!! read more

The rep at this Midas tried to convince me that my car needed a more expensive oil change and wouldn't back down when I told him that I usually take it to the dealership and KNOW for a fact that he was trying to swindle me. After replacing the belt and belt idler, there was a metallic ringing noise that had not been there before. I took it back to them and they said it was the compressor that was causing the noise. They said that the noise was unrelated to the work they did. I took the car to another mechanic, who fixed the noise by replacing the belt tensioner. In brief, Midas created a problem, said it was not their fault, and then misdiagnosed how to fix it. read more

I have been going to the Billerica Midas for many years now and they have always given me good service at a fair price.

I've been bringing my car in for service with these guys for a while. They've always done right by me, and I've been happy with their work. I came in today to get an oil change and to get my brakes checked as I heard grinding. They showed me what was going on with the brakes (a caliper which was replaced a year ago by another garage was gone and needed to be replaced) and got to work fixing it up. I was planning on getting in and out in an hour, but had to stay for a few hours to get the work done. The owner Eleni drove me to my house to pick up my laptop charger so I could work while I waited. She went above and beyond to make the experience of getting these repairs a little easier. I'll keep coming to Midas to get work done on my Jeep. Thanks! read more

I didn't want to give a star. I honestly thought I had a pretty good experience with Midas until I realized that they are a bunch of idiots! I went there recently for an oil change and I was offered a free tire rotation. First of all I called in advance to make an appointment and they didn't even have my oil filter in stock. I waited for about an hour for my Chevy Camaro Z28 to be finished. About a week ago I was over at Rimpro getting my rims straightened from previous owner abuse, and when I returned at promised time they said that whoever touched my car last put my tires in the wrong direction.....Thanks Midas!!! So, I will never take my performance vehicle to them ever again! Why don't you hire mechanics who know what they are doing?!!! read more

They did it a good job on maintenance of exhaust system and parts replacement, no questions, BUT they had a problem with the hood latch, couldn't properly close it and instead of using their brain, they used muscle power and tools to "operate" on it and as a result- they BROKE the cable connection from inside of the car and damaged the locking mechanism under the hood. It was explained to us that the lock is old (2004 car), rusted and needs a replacement. It was a surprise to us- the lock worked just fine before Midas service. Yes, it needed sort of a fast release motion to close it, but it was never an issue to close it properly or open it from the inside of the car and with little level push under the hood for this matter. Needless to say, we were not happy seeing a dislodged cable just dangling, the plastic part which supposed to hold it on the level is broken from inside. Latch is lifeless, no resistance. The lock is NOT rusted! Had visible damages from staff's unnecessary pocking around. Surprise! Brian (who we assumed is a store or shift manager) tried to reconnect it, but it was hopeless- the level missing a piece, courtesy of his handy staff, and now he comes out w/explanation of his inability to reconnect parts: "The cable got longer because it's old". Mind you, it is a 1/4" diameter braided cable, elastic property of which under normal usage and New England weather condition is ZERO and it was NOT DANGLING when the car was brought in because the lock and its connection cable and latch WERE WORKING in unison! We confronted them and asked to pay for the damages. They declined, because it is a "preexisting condition"-old vehicle. So, we came with 1 problem and came out with another.
