First they claimed that my car 2015 Honda specified Full Synthetic Oil, but I showed them the Owner's Manual showing that Full Synthetic was NOT specified . So first they lied to me. For the last week my GMC terrain was stalling at stops signs and redlights, then yesterday the engine light came on. I didn't check the oil because I do not drive a lot, and my oil change, although due in Oct, I actually told Midas, I would be in, Dec, Last night I messaged Midas-Billerica thru the website indicting, oil change, and engine light on, picked a time frame of 10-am12pm. this morning at 8:03 am to be precise received a phone call from Jose M, stating, "Hi Cheryl, we have you in for 11am". Before driving over to Midas, a neighbor walked over with his diagnostic code reader, my neigbhor said, ah you can't drive this truck, a ton of codes are popping, and most all of them are in red, revolving around the engine, your engine might seize. he asked if I wanted him to escort me as I drove to Midas, I said , no its 3 minutes away, neighbor also said, ok if you need a ride let me know. I arrived at 1040am to Midas Billerica, they got my truck into a bay around 1120am, Jose was upfront and said, we need to pull all the codes and go code by code, he then said, we might have an engine chain code, but also your engine is bone dry, there is only 1 qt of oil in here, when you need 5, we can't do an oil change yet, because it will be useless if we need to pull the engine to replace the chain, I'm in the waiting area, and of course google searching, engine chains, causing myself more worry and anxiety. Jose then said, ok, we are going to first flush oil in, see if the engine light goes off and also if the truck starts running more smooth, but so far, she is not running right, they flushed in oil, engine light still on, they then did a re-read on the codes, and codes then more particular stating tune up, intake camshaft solenoid and also a sensor, Jose then said in 80 percent of time, this should fix, but we will get to that if it comes to it , we just need to wait and see. He let me know the price, he also let me know if the tune up parts, do not fix the engine light and the truck still rough , they will take the parts out, not charge me, and then we go to plan B, which obviously would have been, serious engine repair. Jose M kept me up to date with every step of the way, I then began to calm myself, calm so much I did not realize the mechanic pulled my truck out of the bay for a test drive, lol. I then notice and ask Jose, did the tune up and the part replace fix, he said, hes taking for a drive to ensure, Then mechanic who did my truck comes out and he and Jose both said, drive for a day just to ensure, but also your tire sensors are working properly, they are not faulty like you were thinking, your tires were like 22-27, we had to put them up to 35, the tire sensors cleared. They then both explained about my front right wheel barring, stating, once you get situated from this, and we know all is clear on this fix, then schedule for wheel barring, don't need to do today, but letting you know, that wheel barring is going to give out, the mechanic also further explained and said, yes, you may start to notice when you turn your wheel, this ay or that way. Overall again, a 5-star plus plus plus rating for Midas - Billerica location, also again, also the customers hanging with me in the waiting area. I also kept my neighbor up to date, in case he had to give me a ride home, I assured him, saying no I am going to stay, and wait until we see if the tune up and part replace works first, then if not, you will need to come get me because an engine chain can take all day possibly. Thank you Jose M and all the mechanics who worked my 2012 GMC terrain so quick, efficiently today, I was out by 120pm too I think. Love you all at Midas Billerica Location, I will be back again for the front right wheel barring. I would caution you, when you see the negative reviews, look at the negative review from Tommy C, who states he lives in Santa Rosa, California? I'm not sure why a person who states they live in Cali is at midas in Billerica mass, lol I would also caution another review, stating they are from lower alston, newton, lol, wouldn't that person go to a midas local to them? A bunch of the negative reviews have been placed because people are mindless. and just go on yelp, type in midas, and not look at the location. I live 3 minutes away from the Billerica Massachusetts, Midas location, I also see people complaining about the price of parts or labor, lol, so go somewhere else then, or buy your own parts and put in your car yourself. My car was shaking when driving on highway. The tires were at the end of life with low thread. After replacing 4 new tires at Costco, the shaking was still there. I thought an alignment would do some help and therefore it bought me to the Midas Billerica on 12/22/2023 at 10am. The scheduling before the appoint was easy and on site Michelle in the front desk was friendly. I told about the car shaking issue and they said they'll check everything while perform the alignment. The alignment was done quickly and smoothly. When driving off the place, I found the shaking issue was still there. So I decided to go to Costco to make sure the balance was done correctly for the new tires. After checking, the Costco staff informed that the front wheels were lose likely related to axle or joint issue and suggested me to check with a mechanic. So, what did Midas do? Did they just align the tires while the wheels were lose? How could a professional tire store did such a lousy job without a common sense? Called Midas in the afternoon half hour before their close time but no one answered. Called the second day and talked to the owner Brian(if i recall correctly). He admitted there could be a mistake but also blamed me for the issue. After a long conversation, I believe he agreed to refund the alignment cost by mailing me a check. Now a month passed and there's no check or any refund. The credibility of this place is highly questionable. read more

I went in questioning my break pads and they found a ton of other issues... and told me My break pads were fine (yet never took off tires or anything) and then thought it was going to pull 3000.00 out of my pocket for repairs. HA! I took my car to a mechanic I actually know and there was nothing wrong with my car. This place was trying to take money from me for repairs that weren't needed. I got a battery from this place because that MIGHT have been legit (it's been about 5 years) but otherwise I wasn't giving them a dime. And I'm glad I didn't. I first want to say that Brian and Michelle have gone over and above my expectations to get my 40 year old sports car up and running most people think Midas is brakes, tires and exhaust but they are WAY more than that. I would highly recommend Midas for ALL my auto work since then, I have had all four of my family cars being service buy then some minor and some major work. I can't say enough great things about Brian and his team at Midas Billerica. I came to them with a complicated electrical problem that I've had bad luck at getting addressed at other auto service places. It was a challenging project and it was immediately apparent that Jose's and Danny's expertise in addressing this problem was extensive. I came back the next day as scheduled to retrieve the serviced vehicle, and was overjoyed to see that all the electrical gremlins had been completely eliminated for the first time ever! Not only did the technicians exhibit tremendous proficiency but they also showed excellent listening skills and precision attention to detail in completing the required services. On top of that the owners and the technicians are all really nice people, and their price was less than three or four other places that had quoted the job in the Burlington-Lowell area. I will only come to Midas Billerica for all my service needs in the future unless it's a warranty issue that would be covered at no charge at a Ford dealer. I had a bad experience decades ago, but decided to give Midas another shot considering it was a different owner and staff. Had a coupon for $59 which included a full synthetic with system check and tire rotation. I noted that my brakes were squeaking and they assured me that would be checked. Service done, I was told my car checked out fine. No problem with the brakes. I left, brakes still squeaking and later noticed they didn't rotate the tires. I took the car to my dealership to get my brakes fixed and tires rotated. I won't return. read more

I've called Midas in Billerica back multiple times and also tried the corporate number, Elaine was conveniently never at the MIDAS shop when I called, even after I was told "try back in an hour" and when I did, Brian said "she left for the day". Midas Corporate never answered their phone after being on an automatic "Hold" for at least an hour a couple of times. This has become a quick "cat and mouse" game and I"m not playing. I am going to take partially back all the negative feedback I gave on Midas in Billerica. Reason being, I do think that when they did work they did cause a further issue, however, after paying money to go to my dealership, it ended up having a sensor issue in the long run. It did end up costing me more than the sensor at that point as yet AGAIN, another mechanic/dealership takes you for a ride. So they love to do "baby steps" they call it and fix all the issues before they lead up to the most common issue it may have which is the sensor. I do like Brian at the Billerica location, I believe a fair guy. Do I think some of his mechanics are not very knowledgeable, yes. Will I go back there, no. Did Brian think he was doing the best he could for my car, possibly. So, I won't totally put the worst feedback out there. If you have good experience with them, then by all means, keep going. I have doubt that their mechanics are the best so will decline. But with all the service centers out there, they all basically "let the buyer beware. Sad but true. I will say waiting on your car in Billerica is torturous with A VERY DIRTY restroom and many times going there, it is still disgusting. Not sure WHY they think that is acceptable when you have customers that may need to use it? So again, I will give this location a somewhere in the middle and know your car well before taking it in. I definitely know my car well but it turned out not so good. And the dealership in Danvers took me for another $1k. read more

I come here to get my oil changed, but that is it. Being a "girl", taking charge of my car maintenance means I am a red flag walking into a place like this. I asked them to do my snow tire changeover when I got my oil changed. They were going to charge me $20.00/tire and then an additional $89.99 for the alignment. I told them I was going to get my tires put on and aligned somewhere else for cheaper, and they said I was crazy. As I sat here in the waiting room I took out my car records (I keep diligent receipts and notes about my car). I found the past four receipts from my snow tire changeover Town Faire Tire, and it has been $99.00 for both a snow tire changeover and a computer balance/alignment for the past three years. I showed this to the manager on staff, (to not only gain credibility, but also to see if they would match the price)... That was a no. It's safe to say that this place is over-priced, and if you are a "girl", make sure you know your shit ;) On a not so negative note, the maintenance workers are pleasant. read more

Received a phone call a short time later clearly explaining what needed to be done. My car had new brakes just hours later. Update to my first review- Not only was my tire never patched. When I took it in to get fixed again, at another auto repair shop, they found that there was never a hole in my tire... my wheel was completely bent in half, so my tire was barely even hanging on to my car! When I told them that I had taken my car here a couple days earlier, the man became LIVID that they would allow me to leave with my tire in that shape. They either lied and never even took my tire off- or are so extremely unexperienced that it's dangerous to have these people working on your vehicle! He said you instantly tell something was extremely wrong with my wheel, and that I was extremely extremely lucky that I, or no one else on the road was injured by me losing my tire, since it basically wasn't even attached to my car! I just wish I would have told him going into it that I had had it looked at already, because he said he would have taken a picture and sent it into BBB! This place is dangerous! read more

I am truly impressed!! I went in for an oil change 15 minutes before they opened and Brian the manager took me in anyways. They found my brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. One of the staff members drove me home so I didn't have to wait for everything to be completed. Within four hours I was picking up my car with new oil and breaks. Keep in mind that I was a walk-in customer and they ordered the parts, picked them up, and completed that work in a very short amount of time. The work done was professional which Brian told me he put premium parts in my car with lifetime Great warrantees and I believe him because my car feels amazing! Moved to the Billerica area so called Midas in Billerica to have my truck serviced for a simple oil change with a free tire rotation that was advertised on line. The person that answered the phone stated it was going to be an extra $20.00 because it was a truck. I stated that nothing on the coupon states extra for a truck. Then person on the phone from Midas said agreed and stated bring the truck in, so I did. Then I get a phone from Midas stating the lug nuts are to swollen to be removed and they couldn't do the tire rotation. My response was Firestone never had an issue, after speaking with them for several minutes. I just told in disgust to just perform the Oil Change and forget about the tire rotation. I purchased a full synthetic oil change here on Groupon, $32 (awesome deal!) I walked in before realizing I needed to make an appointment and they were able to work me in quickly anyway. They didn't have the filter for my car on hand, so I ended up waiting a little while to get it delivered, which wasn't a big deal (I was working on my tablet with free coffee & Xfinity Wifi, no problem) and they kept me updated throughout the entire time. This was my first experience with Brian and his team; overall i am very satisfied. I was having an issue with my Honda Civic and they diagnosed in in minutes. I took my vehicle to my local garage and to the dealership. Honda completely missed the problem and I had to point out to them the problem that Midas found. It turned out to be a safety issue and the price Honda quoted was way out of the ballpark. I ended up returning to Midas to have the work done at a reasonable price. I said how long? will be quick. 2.5 hrs later of sitting and watching other drivers come and go and get their cars fixed, I am watching my lonely car standing in the garage with no wheels. I made an appointment on the Billerica Midas website to get an oil change and inspection sticker, both of which were service options listed on their appointment page. An employee called me to confirm the time and date of my appointment. I showed up for the appointment and when I repeated the two services I wanted done, the employee at the desk told me that they don't do inspection stickers. Wait, what? It's literally an option for you to chose on their website, plus I spoke to someone on the phone who was obviously looking at my appointment request. He didn't bother to mention that they don't actually do inspection stickers. The employee at the desk was then surprised that I didn't want to wait the hour he said it'd take for an oil change. It can be done much more quickly at a number of other places. It felt like they lured me into the shop to get the oil change and possibly other business out of me. I'm the one who mentioned the inspection sticker, so I'm not sure if I would have even been told they wouldn't do it until after they had taken my car in. This is my second bad experience at the Billerica Midas. The first one was a few years ago (when an oil change took a few hours as I sat there waiting). Enough time had passed that I thought I'd give them another shot. I won't be making that mistake again. read more

Worst Customer service ever. Went in with a groupon for an oil change. Asked about tire rotation since it wasn't included. Manager told me it was an additional $20.00 for the tire rotation and got mad when I questioned how an oil change with tire rotation was $19.99 and tire rotation alone was $20.00. He then refused to take the groupon saying he loses money on the groupon and I should talk to groupon. He could care less. I've been using Midas for 30 years and never had should poor service.
