They were prompt, friendly and detailed my care so beautifully! I would highly recommend them!

These guys are literally the best. From the owner Dan to the manager Jesse- they're so buttoned up, efficient, friendly and most importantly do amazing work at fair prices. I wouldn't consider bringing my car anywhere else. After trying numerous shops over the last 20 years, we found the one that will stick forever. Can't recommend enough! read more

FYI - I have had NO work done on my vehicle that I brought in bc I thought my brakes & rotors needed to be replaced. Drop it off in the am...go to work...get a call from them, "they look ok...still have some life left...this other thing (bearing?) might be a thing, but it doesn't seem to be rn. No charge for the diagnostics...car is safe to drive". Who does that?? Most mechanics would make crap up just to scare you into false/"just in case"/safeguard repairs just to make a buck. Not this place! Guess who I WILL bring my car in to when it needs something? Dan's Auto repair, for sure! read more

Wish I had found this business sooner. Stellar customer service. This is my go to for car service and maintenance.

We have been going out of our way to take our car to Dan's Auto Repair for our annual inspection for years. The waiting room is clean and pleasant. The staff is efficient and works quickly. read more

Will certainly miss Dan's Auto Repair after 15 years of reliable, professional and courteous service. I pray that I will find a reasonable auto repair service in Punta Gorda Florida that even remotely approaches the superior all around service I've experience at Dan's. Even before the renovations to his Pond Street location, Dan's facility was always a spotless, inviting place where you immediately felt confident your vehicle would receive the utmost care. I've never, ever felt like I've been overcharged for any appointment....this business is honest, trustworthy and really cares about delivering customer satisfaction. Dan Shea should be proud of the business he has built over the years. read more

Recently bought a car I hoped would help my daughter get around at school. I brought it in for a tuneup and a look at the brakes which needed a lot of pressure to stop the car. I got a call from the owner to inform me that the car was not safe to drive due to significant rot. Although it was pretty bad news, I am thankful for them finding the problem and informing of the danger of driving it. I obviously do not want my daughter to be driving an unsafe car. On top of saving us from having a major incident while driving - they didn't charge us for diagnosing the problem. I plan on being a loyal future customer. read more

My family has been going to Dan's Auto for almost 40 years. My auto mechanic friend recommended them and I've been very pleased with their expertise and knowledge since. We've had many cars and purchased used cars only after having them checked out by Dan's. I am a skeptic by nature but completely trust their recommendations (sometimes they recommend NOT having work done) and am confident they are honest, trustworthy and stand by their work. read more

Do not take your vehicle to Dan"s Collision Repair unless you are prepared to wait for 2 months to get your vehicle back. During the 2 month wait, I never received a call updating me on the status of my vehicle. Horrible customer service! read more

Car was stalled on i95 and AAA got it to this place, it's very rare that car repair shops sound professional and are not our to rip you off and this is one such place. The place has great reviews and lives up to its name. read more

They have a nice waiting area, spacious and clean, pleasant woman who answers your phone calls and receives payment, and a reasonable price for tire change. But the mechanics has an issue with the wheel lock key. He couldn't find it, when he mounted the winter tires, and now we can't find it to dismount them. Just make sure you get the nuts AND the wheel lock key back, when you have them change the tires. Then you can avoid having to order a wheel lock key from tirerack and to make an extra trip to change the tires. read more

Excellent service and reliable! Been coming for oil changes and car repairs and have been happy with the level of service. Recently, there was an honest mistake. Jesse and Dan's Auto helped resolve the issue without question. Without going into a lot of detail, I will say I was VERY impressed with professionalism and ownership they took in this situation. I would recommend Dan's auto HANDS DOWN for anyone looking for a customer focused auto repair shop. Thank you, Jesse for your help! read more

Preface: I did not actually get any work done here. I HAD to write a review about how exceptionally nice the people that work at this place are and how I plan to get all my future car repair/maintainence work done here. I had left work early to get to one of my best friend's brother's wake. Not even 2 minutes down the road, my car stops working. You can just imagine how much of a panic I was in. I called AAA and got towed down the street to the Precision Autotune I usually go to for oil changes and other small repairs. Basically, in tears I tell the guy (who has seen me several times prior) and tell him my situation. His response, "Wish I could help, but I don't even know if I'd be able to look at your car right now". I can understand if they had other cars that they had promised to people that day, but he could have at least taken a quick look and give me a diagnosis on my vehicle so I could take the measures needed to get to the wake I needed to go too. I asked the AAA tow truck for another auto shop suggestion and he suggested Dan's. So glad he did! I went into the reception area and explained to them my situation and they looked at my car right away! They told me what was wrong and explained that it wasn't a quick repair and were also honest enough to tell me that the problem I was having could have damaged my transmission which would pretty much make my car junk! They suggested I take a day or two to think about the repairs (knowing I was in a frantic state)and that I rent a car for the day and gave me the card for the Hertz right next door. I never got the repairs, but they allowed me to leave my car at the garage until I had purchased a new one. They were also nice enough to take the my plates off my old car when I came to get them. They were also extremely patient and understanding when the dealership I had purchased my car from had forgetten to pick up my old car from their garage. I honestly cannot say enough with how impressed I was how they treated me, especially considering I wasn't even a customer of theirs! This was the best customer service experience I've had in a long, long time. read more

I'm finally rich enough that I am willing to pay an extra 10% to avoid the skeezy, and Dan's Auto is the perfect spot for that. These guys are professional, honest, and they do the little things for you. I went in for a brake job once, and they renewed my inspection sticker gratis. They will drive you to and from work if you need, and they're fast. They're still cheaper than the dealership. Woo peace of mind. read more

Great place. While they are on the higher end with prices, they are extremely honest and straightforward. You can trust whatever they say is wrong with your car. We have gone with them a few times and never been disappointed or wondering if we were ripped off. They also have a complementary shuttle to and from work. A big help for commuters! read more

Staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. Asked a number of car questions not even related to the leaking brakes my car was in for and took plenty of time answering which they didn't need to. They were recommended by a friend who's family has been going there for 30 years and did not disappoint. Would recommend and plan to make them my new mechanic. read more

Oh Daniel, aren't you just a savior in a grease torn desolate wasteland of overpriced salivating mechanic MechDonalds. ~~--A 'lil history --~~ I've used Dan's auto repair once before and I am a THRIFTY shopper. And I mean THRIFTYYY. Like, to the point of pretending to put some change in the salvation army bucket, but I have black double sided duct tape wrapped around my glove, and I pull everything out. Then I push the bell ringer chick over, and take her bell. I digress. I had the work quoted at 4 different locations and Dan's was cheaper by hundreds of dollars. Not sure what everyone else is talking about the price being higher at this place. Every time I've gone the price has been reasonable/cheapest option. Probably mechanic spies from the area posting. ~~-- //End history --~~ This current visit involved me going on a trip to Cali in a few days and I was planning on getting a lot of work done on my car while I was gone. I dropped it off the night before, and in the morning was given quotes for all of the work. I was given the professional rundown of the reasons/options/and prices I needed. The car was done that same day. All of the work! SAME DAY! When I got into the car, it was done so well, I thought I was riding in chitty bang bang, and almost flew away into the sky! No joke. Check them out if you need work. read more

My car stopped working going to work. I called AAA and they towed my car to the closest repair shop with AAA discount. So, I finished in Dan's Auto Repair. It was far from home and far from my work. So, I decided to take a break after a stressful week and waited there, watching TV and having a cup of coffee. The people there were extremely nice and professional. They even offered me lunch, as I waiting a few hours for my car, which was finally repaired at a reasonable price. It's not close to home, but I might come back next time I need a mechanic. read more

These guys are awesome! service was so quick! In N out in less than 20 mins. Tail light had to be replaced. Keep up the good work guys!

I stumbled on this place when I needed an emergency tire repair, but they were so nice, and reasonably priced, that I went back for other stuff. I've never been disappointed. These folks won't rip you off or say you need something done when you don't really. Everyone who I've dealt with, whether a technician or front desk person, has been helpful read more

Clean, honest and quick! Always a good experience, even if it's just an inspection sticker....

Honest, thorough, quality... what more can I ask for other than moving your shop closer to me. I would recommend others to use Dan's in a heart beat. My prior go to shop unfortunately has evolved to the dark side. read more

This place has its act together, and they've taken very good care of us. Jesse is a great listener with attention for detail; he is patient and good at explaining things. It's a drive for us to get there, but totally worth it. read more

As someone who is poor and always drives pretty crappy used cars, I have to say that I've been pretty impressed with Dan's, despite their prices not being super cheap. I don't think their shop is particularly expensive, but I wouldn't say their inexpensive repairs have blown me out of the water. Where they do excel, though, is in telling their customers what needs to be done to their vehicles, and why these repairs are needed. Any time I've spoken to one of their employees (I think Matt is the one I usually end up dealing with), they're been understanding and kind, and have taken the time to explain everything ad nauseam, and have answered all my dumb questions. Also, when my car totally died and they told me it wasn't worth fixing (it was a '99 Alero, and all the springs went, due to corrosion), they let me leave my car in their lot until a junkyard could come and pick it up. There's also a night drop off - envelopes for keys with forms attached to fill out, and a drop box for them. They really make things easy and convenient. They're super busy, so if you can make an appointment in advance, then do so. If you're in the Billerica area and you don't know who to bring your car to, I'd give these guys a shot. read more

I went in because I neglected my truck for years and it was almost un-drivable and Dan brand it back to life for a very reasonable price and time frame. Great quality work and friendly people. read more

Great service, I thought my Mustang had a major suspension and brake issue. They diagnosed the problem, went through the entire car, and took care of the issue at a fraction of what I thought I would pay. Honest guys who do good work. read more

This place does good work, but be ready to pay. They are by far the most expensive repair shop I have ever seen. read more

Very capable and honest repair shop. They do charge a healthy markup on their parts but the level of professionalism and quality of their work is first rate. Have been driving for over 40 years and done plenty of DIY repairs and used plenty of shops over the years. This shop ranks right up there with the best. Have been taking two older cars there for several years for both routine and non-routine maintenance and will continue to do so. read more

Very expedient inspections. I always choose Dan's because the wait is not long and the thorough inspection is done fastidiously.

Fantastic service at a very reasonable rate. They were very clear about what my choices were, and what things about my vehicle might affect my options. They were clear upfront about costs, which were substantially lower than I've paid for similar service elsewhere in the area. Everyone I spoke to was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. read more

This place was a complete and utter nightmare. Would come to fix one problem with my car. Got an up charged bill with charges for services I didn't ask for. Told the owner to call me, he never did. So I went back there and asked if they could fix the problem that occurred after they had originally "fixed it the first time" More parts and labor plus more up-charging. The final straw was when I got my car back and it had huge scratches all over the side doors. Horrible horrible people. Worst of all one the the employee's called profusely apologizing and told me the Owner would personally call me. (Again) And guess what? The owner never called me, surprise. I thought about taking further action but I let is pass by. Besides, who would screw up that many times on purpose? read more

I've been taking my cars here for 4 years. I haven't found another place I trust as much, and I still take my car here despite the fact that I've moved to Somerville. One thing I like about Dan's is that they are very good about giving you options: explaining the consequences of fixing it now or fixing it later. They also take their time to explain what they propose to do to your vehicle, and they don't do extra stuff you didn't ask for without checking with you first. Dan's is a little bit off the beaten path, but they are worth checking out. read more

I stopped by for a oil change today (10/1/12) and they finished in ten minutes. I did not call ahead so I was expecting at least a thirty minute wait. The receptionist was very nice and the lounging area was great. I actually would not mind spending another 30 minutes watching TV. The mechanic was very honest with parts that were failing. He said they didn't need to be replaced now but at some point it would have to be done. I knew he wasn't lying because my mechanic said the same thing a few weeks ago. I definitely recommend this place, especially for inspections and mechanical advice. read more

Two separate, great experiences: 1. My check engine light began to flash and my car was shaking violently. Brought it to Dan's. Jesse, who is always great, called to tell me that my car was showing a code that means there's a misfire in the third cylinder. He explained that it could be a number of things - corroded wires, things coming unplugged, etc., and that while they were looking at it, my engine stopped misfiring and my car fixed itself (and that if it's no long misfiring, they can't tell what's causing the misfire). He told me it could happen again, and to bring it back if it did, BUT it never happened again, and they didn't even charge me to look at it. They EASILY could have told me they fixed something and charged me a couple hundred dollars, and I'd be none the wiser. These guys are thorough, and HONEST. 2. One of my wipers started going all crazy past the end of my windshield and getting caught on my side view mirror, and my check engine light came on (no flashing or violent shaking). Again, thorough Jesse called me to say that the wiper was fixed (something simple, but he told me the ramifications if it happens again), and he fixed the check engine light (another very minor issue that actually wouldn't affect my car's performance or make it break down). He also recommended that I get my tie rod ends done, which I had them do. Also had an oil change. The price was reasonable, and these guys are so thorough and honest, I can't say enough good things about them. read more
