If I could give less than 1 star I would. I towed my fiance's 04 Honda civic to this location because her master lock cylinder failed and we were unable to turn the key in the ignition, and against my better judgement I listened to the tow truck driver. He told me how he knew them and I would get a deal (That should be another review in itself), but back to the point we get to the midas and they say they will give us a call after they look at it. Well 3 days went by and I finally had to call them after not hearing anything to hear an excuse about a shooting that happened, and they hadn't checked the car yet, and they would call later that day or the next. Two more days pass and I have to call them AGAIN after not hearing anything. Then they tell me my estimate is not in the system because so much time has passed and it takes him forever to find it in the system and then he states it would be $1000+ to fix. I said no, I knew that was ridiculous when the highest quote I saw from anywhere else was $700 and that I would come get the car the next day The next day comes and my friend and I go to pick up the car with his trailer. We pull in and the guy working the register acts as if he's doing me a favor by not charging me the $60 inspection fee when I get there and at first I thought that was cool then I see the civic. One of the battery tie downs was sticking out of the hood which prompted me to look in the car (I didn't notice anything at first because it's a black car, with black interior and super dark tint). I open the door and see that the back seats are cut out and there's foam and cloth all over the back. The radio and my fiance's GPS is gone, and then I pop the hood and the car battery is missing which explains why the tie down was sticking out of the hood. I tell the midas guys what happened and they act clueless and even though there are security cameras "they don't know what happened, and there have been a lot of break ins".. they offered no help and I was amazed that they do nothing to protect the cars of customers, I wouldn't even be surprised if it was an inside job. I will never take a car to them again..You have been warned their customer service, car safety, and overall accountability is terrible.. Beware!!! read more

I left my car and went to the grocery store , I came back one hour later and left the other car to have the oil changed, I went to lunch across the street and waited for 1 more hour at least . I've been robbed!!! Staff is friendly. Of course. You're giving them your money... I had an alternator replaced 4 months ago at this location. It went bad the other week, but luckily all the parts were under warranty. So i get it towed back to Midas ($120) and somehow it still costs me $400 to get fixed. and THEN when driving off the lot (after already swiping my credit card) the same symptoms as before begin to happen. Gauges going crazy, battery light on, hard to turn the wheel. Obviously there is something else wrong and it's not the alternator, but they keep diagnosing it as a faulty alternator. This is my third one. These guys will say whatever, to get you to empty your pocket. Including mis-diagnosing the same problem multiple times. Those belts had nothing to do with my alternator going bad. Now my car is sitting with the hood up and they're asking me to keep it overnight. Sure. At this point I don't really have a other option. Day 5: 8/26/13 After 3 business days with no phone call or communication at all from Midas, I decide to take the day off from work and figure out what's the hold up. When I arrive at the shop my car is no where to be seen. I then notice it in the fenced in back lot, obviously out of sight and out of mind. I approach the manager and he immediately starts telling me they don't know what's wrong. Then why haven't you called and told me that? I've been 5 days without a car.. I decide to take a look under the hood myself. Keep in mind I don't know jack shit about automobiles. Firsssst thing I see, is a fuse that looks black/ burnt. I call out John the guy who was working on my vehicle, and he acted dumbfounded. "Err how did I miss that". Low and behold its my alternator fuse. Blah blah blah these guys are IDIOTS. High school drop outs that somehow got a job as a shitty mechanic. I went and purchased a new fuse, put it in and drove my car home. DO NOT i repeat DO NOT have your vehicle serviced here. If I could leave negative 5 stars I would. I came in for a routine oil change. I made an appointment the week before and it was still a 3 hour wait. I picked up my car and drove home. I notice a humming noise but didn't really think anything of it. The next day I went to use my washer fluid (which was included in the oil change) and there was none. They also did not reset the oil monitor and it still said I needed an oil change. So I brought it back into Midas after calling the manager who couldn't care less about the situation. When I get there, 30 mins later he comes in and asks if I took the oil cap off of the car. So they lost my oil cap and I have been sitting here for 2 hours now, ruining plans for my Friday and still waiting for my oil cap to arrive. Every time I talk to the manager he either ignored me or had en extremely rude response. Never will be returning, this is a complete waste of time and an awful job done. Stay away read more

My daughter took her car in because it would not start. Midas said she needed an alternator and a battery and gave her an estimate of $834. She ended up taking her car to Auto Zone and they discovered her battery terminals were loose and fixed it for $55. I believe they saw a 22 year old student and took advantage. read more

People who say "I never post bad reviews or ask to speak to the manager (or customer service)" are always the ones who do it the most. I'm not one of them. Look at my yelp, All 5 stars. I really think there are too many people posting negative things, but my experience at this Midas was awful. I had my yukon towed there as it would not start. They were friendly, but when I called the next day to check in, the fella that answered the phone said, "oh yeah, you have a bad bad flex fuel sensor, we can get you outta here for $1200, its a $600 dollar part and the replacement is tedious". Now, that seemed weird but I said "ok", but literally 5 minutes of googling showed that P0178 code would NOT cause the engine to not start. When asked about this in my call a couple minutes later, he insisted that it would and that it acts as a governor of sorts. I told him I wanted a second opinion and when I asked for the Error Codes they scanned, he said "you can get those when you pick up the car." That set my research back even further as I had to schedule a tow out of there before I could do any more research. By the way, the flex fuel sensor on that yukon is easily accessible and requires no more than some wrenching and a tool to unplug the hoses. Hardly tedious, but it was not much more expensive than other folks online had paid to get it replaced, so I'll give them that. Its just a racket part. Now when I picked it up the guy at the desk assured me that I was making a mistake and that the $1200 would get me out of there today. I said they ran all the tests and that it was for sure the FFS. I would hope they did all the tests, it cost me $90. When I tried to use my customer appreciation coupon he said they couldn't take it for what they did. No where did it say "Not good for diagnostics". So I finally get my yukon back home and call a mobile mechanic. Within 20 minutes he finds out the issue. Low cylinder compression. It was his third test phase. After plugging in the scanner, reading the only code that popped up, the P0178 (the same code your guys found, so they were right about that), but he knew that it was wrong that that was the only code that would show up, so he checked the fuel pressure, then the spark plugs and that led him to checking cylinder compression. Low. So either your guys charged me $90 to plug in a scanner and stopped there, or they knew this vehicle had serious issues and were going to charge me $1200 for a $600 part and 30 minutes of labor, only to call me back and say they'd have to do more work. Either way I am pissed. Now I don't have a huge social media following or anything like that, but when I like a business I encourage others to visit it. Hell my mechanic from back in LA text me to see how I was and to extend his appreciation for my referrals. That, after being in ATL for over a year! Apparently one of my LA friends has gone back to him repeatedly and sparked his memory. My point is, if I had a good experience, I would go out of my way to refer people there. And I feel cheated, and let down at the service I got. read more

This is a great place to go if you need your car fixed. I had an issue with my brakes and I was told it would take 2 hours. It was completed in that time and the staff was very helpful and accommodating during that time. The manager, Collins was very helpful in answering my questions and making sure my problem was resolved. I definitely recommend coming here and I will definitely be back again! read more

I've been here a few times with mixed experiences. I'm pretty sure they stole a light bulb out of my car once. On the other hand, I got some repair work done for which they had to order a part, and it took less than an hour for the part to arrive and be installed. Literally just left this place. If I could give less than one star I would. When we walked in, the guy in the front name Jason rudely asked us to move our car. Didn't say Hi or welcome us at all so I just let my boyfriend speak with him from that point on. My boyfriend told him that he wanted $29.99 package (oil change that came with tire rotation.) And he specified that my car needs 5w-20 oil then Jason said okay then made a smart remark about my keys. As we were waiting I notice that this guy was very arrogant to other customers, I couldn't believe they would have someone who was so rude in the front to represent their company. Then a guy that Jason seemed to know came in saying that he had got an oil change down the street for a lot of money. That's when Jason said "We have oil changes starting at $19.99." Then another customer came in stating that Midas broke something on his car and he was rude to him too. So finally they back my car out. My boyfriend notice that they didn't rotate my tires so he asked Jason. Jason at first said they did, then when he asked his mechanic he came back saying that they did not rotate my tires bc I needed a new tire. My boyfriend then ask him "Why didn't he let us know that ahead of time instead of waiting to tell us at the end? Also does that mean that we will be charged $19.99 since you all didn't do the oil change?" Jason responded by saying "No." My boyfriend said "well you just offered it to the other customer. " Jason said "You have to have a coupon to get it for $19.99." My boyfriend said "you never told the other customer he had to have a coupon." And they went back and forth about it. Then Jason got so rude and aggressive with my boyfriend they just started going back and forth until I said something. We went ahead and paid and he was still making smart remarks. This completely blew my mind so I recorded him. Then as we were leaving I told my boyfriend that their customer service was horrible then Jason made another smart remark as we walked out the door. Then when we got in the car my boyfriend looked at the paperwork and notice that they put the wrong oil in my car. He called them back and Jason originally said that they put the right oil but when my boyfriend said "On our paperwork says you put 5W-30." That's when he finally admitted to what he did and then he said "it is what is." Jason act as if he didn't care that he put the wrong oil in my car that could cause future damage to my vehicle. So my boyfriend ask him if he could speak to the supervisor, he said he was the supervisor. He then ask to speak to his boss, then he said he is the boss. He the was saying rude remarks to my boyfriend. That's when my boyfriend had it and went off on him. My boyfriend then said he was going to come back up their to get his bosses number and that's when Jason said that his boss number was on the paper he gave us. After that I told my boyfriend to hang up the phone. My boyfriend call Jason's boss. His boss called back almost instantly. My boyfriend told him what happened, he seemed really nice and then I spoke with him and I told him my point of view and I also told him that I had Jason's poor actions recorded. He then said he would send my boyfriend his email so that I could send it to him which as of now we haven't received. He also apologized and said that we could go to any Midas to get my car properly fix and he would give us another free oil change in the future. I honestly don't want to go back to any of their locations. As long as Jason is at this location I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here at all. I honestly just want my money back and I will submit what I have to the BBB. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

Staff is pleasant and helpful. They describe what your car needs according to the factory recommendations after performing a multi-point check of the vehicle. They just changed over computer system so was very dysfunctional today. I also spent 4 hours there waiting for an air filter, oil filter and change, as transmission fluid replacement. This seemed extremely long and I arrived very early at 845 am. The interior of the establishment has a nice big screen TV, however the toilet was broken, the coffee creamer was spoiled, and ants were in the sugar. The place was very dirty. read more

I would give this store a -3 if I could. All young women and/or people who don't aren't particularly knowledgeable with cars, PLEASE READ AS THESE GUYS ARE SCAM ARTISTS: As a young woman with limited knowledge on cars, I have struggled to find a mechanic I trust since moving down south (originally from Chicago). I had a trusted Midas back home, so figured I'd start here. Unfortunately, I had an absolutely awful experience here. My vehicle had been making a funny noise back in March, and this Midas said I needed to replace all shocks and struts and quoted me right around $1000. Before moving forward, I called my dad who informed me that we had just had this done in the last year back home. I then took my car to an NTB, who was able to solve the actual problem for around $200. Fast forward to this weekend. My car was making a much different noise, which I assumed was the engine (I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra with 115,000 miles and it is definitely wearing down). At NTB, they told me my muffler needed to be repaired or replaced, and they actually recommended Midas as it is their specialty. I hesitantly took it back to this Midas, and they quoted me $850 for a complete replacement and a 90-day warranty (the replacement included a lifetime warranty so still not sure why I'd need a 90-day warranty for $239). I again was skeptical, so called Mr. Tire in Dunwoody, who has great reviews. Mr. Tire looked at my quote and said that not only did Midas not diagnose all the problems, but they did not even consider simply repairing the muffler rather than replacing it. Midas was scared of the rust on my car (from the snow & salt in Chicago, very common up north), so rather than coming up with a better solution, they only suggested the most expensive option of a complete replacement. By going with a more knowledgeable and HONEST mechanic, I saved nearly $500. I will NEVER return to this Midas and NEVER stop encouraging people to avoid it. read more

My husband's truck started spewing out smoke on his way to work last Saturday. He through it was just a coolant leak so he stopped to let the engine cool a bit and tried to get to work, which was 3 miles away. More smoke spewed so he pulled into a Marathon gas station and walked to this Midas to ask if they could help, even though they were a couple hours from closing and he had to get to work. They suggested pouring a gallon of water in the coolant reservoir and driving it to their shop instead of paying the expense of having it towed. By the time he was able to get that done, I met him at this Midas and helped him find the source of the leak. We found that a hose had come unfastened so a mechanic jumped in and pulled the defected fastener out. Since they were close to closing, I offered to drive to the auto parts store to pick it up. They were happy to refasten the hose if I could get the part. When I got back, they had already fixed the hose without the part! It turns out that the part was just something fancy to fasten the hose from the inside (a quick-connect fastener). The mechanic just used one of those traditional metal fasteners on the outside y voilà! When I arrived, he was humming to himself just trying to reset the Check Engine light and as he was doing so, he felt the engine cylinders misfiring so he suggested that we get that looked at the next time we have a chance in order to keep the Check Engine light from coming on intermittently. I appreciate the great service that these guys provided us just before closing...and the charge was only $30! Much cheaper than replacing a head gasket! ;-) Great service!!!!!!! The only reason I left out 1 star is because they couldn't find a way to get the part themselves. That would have been way over the top! read more

I've had a lot of car trouble and dealt with a lot of mechanics. I can say that out of the many places I have been Midas in West Midtown gives me hope that not every car man is trying to rip you off. They run an honest business and do their best to get you back on the road safely and in the least expensive way. I took my car here because it was having computer problems and after trying a few things Collins told me to take it to the dealership. He did not charge me AT ALL (the cost for what he did was a little over $300). He was honest is saying that a dealership could fix it better which I very much appreciated. I would recommend anyone to go here. Great people who are truly honest and nice to be around. Collins is the best!!! read more

Do not use this repair shop! I brought my car here for a replacement battery. The battery was so dead it could not be jumped. This shop being the closest place that it could be towed to. I dropped the car off and they said they would call me with an update. The update was a $279 battery! Me, not knowing any better agreed. Shortly after getting off the phone I vented to a coworker and he said, don't have them do it. We quickly researched what the battery should cost and it was around $110. So $169 for labor? Plus tax? I called them back and they brought the price down to $200. Shady! read more

Absolute scam artists. Found out my friend took his car in there because his car kept dying. They charged him 300+ dollars to replace the battery and then told him that his alternator would need to be replaced within the week. They told us to have a new alternator put in that it would cost 1200 dollars in total. We took it to another shop and they informed us that nothing was wrong with the alternator at all. This place will try anything possible to take your money from you. These guys are the worst type of people on earth. Do not go here for anything ever. read more

If I could leave this place a negative one I would! I'm so sad that I took my car down here to get my catalyst converter replaced. I initially went up there, and they quoted me with the price of the catalyst converter and the 02 sensor with labor and parts was 868.00. I said no problem, since I need to have The catalytic converter replaced. They ordered the part on Friday, and I brought my car up there the following Monday, to only find out I was being involved in a BAIT and SWITCH. I get there to not only found out I would have to pay an additional 327.00 but they also ordered the wrong part. HOW DO YOU ORDER THE WRONG PART?! When they ran my car for a diagnostic, did you not get the VIN or year make/model to order the exact part? I've took my car to the dealership and I have never had this issue. Collins was the one who order the part Friday, then told me on Monday the part was wrong and I needed to pay a additional 327.00. This is ridiculous and a inconvenience. Date: Friday, March 15, 2013 Time entered: 2:08pm Time exited: 5:48pm Setting: Very slow day. 3 consumers waiting Requested job: Oil change & tire rotation Brake pads and rotors check because they were squeaking Manager: Believes he knows everything and belittles his employees. Comes off very racist! I was very specific on what service I needed (oil change & tire rotation and to check brake pads and rotors because it's squeaking). I also advised that I bought new brakes pads and rotors from the dealership if needed. The male cashier entered everything into the computer and told me it would be about 30-45 minutes. While waiting, four other consumers entered for service. While waiting 4 other consumers came in for service 2 of them was serviced and left! 90 minutes later, my car was not even moved!! I approached the cashier to ask why my car hasn't been touched and he kindly told me, I'm next! Right at two hours they finally pulled my car in. By this time, I left to go grab a bite to eat down the street with a friend and asked the cashier to give me a ring when my car is diagnosed. An hour later I gave them a call because I had not heard anything. The cashier that answered the phone had no clue so he got the mechanic on the phone and he said he had no clue because he was not the one that worked on my car!! I decided to head back to the shop because I this point I was frustrated! While speaking with the guy who 'supposedly' worked on my car, the manager, who rudely interrupted and shushed his employee, tried to explain what they did to my car and was unsuccessful. At this point I told him to pull my car around and I'll pay for the oil change!! In short, the WORST service ever in my lifetime!! read more

I go to a Midas in Pennsylvania and get excellent service. I came to the Midas today to get a tire replaced (that had roadside hazard protection) and I waited an hour after I was told "it would be a few minutes" to put on a new tire. It was incredibly frustrating. I just needed accurate information for how long it would take to plan my day accordingly, but instead I was ignored and had to keep inquiring if my car was coming up. Follow-up 7/21: Midas National and Regional contacted me to apologize for the poor customer service. They offered some coupons (have not received them yet). I appreciate these gestures - they make me feel much better about using Midas in the future. 8/30: I did get these coupons a few weeks ago, so the office followed up on all it promised! read more

This Midas location caused thousands of dollars of damage to my vehicle performing a negligent repair and refuses to compensate me even though I have clear proof that their service not only did not repair my car's issue but caused extensive damage to the engine. read more

When I got there he was equally genial and personally saw to fixing my wheel so that I could leave quickly. I know Midas is a general type shop so they dont specialize in specific vehicles. That said, Its a bit ridiculous that they ended up keeping my car for 3 weeks. After paying them over 600.00 for the initial fix, they did not bother to check the actual source of the problem (electrical issue) so I ended up having to take my car to the dealer (took them less than 24 hours to get the problem resolved there). Once I finally got my car back, it was not only still malfunctioning but it was also dirty with car grease and handprints. No one apparently considered to wear gloves (or wash their hands) or put a tar mat into the floor boards. What a mess. Take your car else-where. read more

I took my car here to get my tire fixed and an oil change. Everything was done in a reasonable amount of time, but they ended up working on the wrong tire which happened to have a nail in it! Upon seeing that my other tire was going flat again, I went over and they fixed it without charging me. They suggested other repairs to my car (which I declined due to them being overpriced), but they were honest about which were necessary and didn't push anything on me. Overall the people that work here are very nice and it's a good spot to bring your car in for oil changes and minor repairs. read more

Kathy B Our transmission failed ( all the fluid leaked out of it) just outside of Atlanta and the car was towed here per recommendation from our son. It was late Friday of Memorial weekend.They worked on it all day Saturday and the next Tuesday, flushing the transmission and filling it with fluid, and checking all other parts of the engine to make sure that the transmission was the only thing not working. Then they took it for several (multiple hour) test drives to be sure it would not break down again. I appreciated their hard work and honesty about the work needed.They could have sold us a new transmission, but they did enough work so we could make it home to Virginia and get a new transmission once we were home. read more
