PLEASE RUN AWAY FROM HERE. My car was in prestige condition and only needed control arms replaced due to regular maintenance. They drilled a hole in my oil pan, decided to "own up and replace it" and in the process they damaged all 3 engine mounts, 1 transmission mount, serpentine belt and cv joints since they wanted to make up for their out of pocket cost. Now I have to buy all those parts and take my car elsewhere. My car is literally in shambles. I hope the manager Israel along with his "technician" Bishop and the owner get investigated for damaging personal property on purpose to make more money. There's a special on the Internet that says 4999 oil changes don't even look at that clearly this minus does whatever they wanna do. I called the Alpharetta location with the car make and model that I have they said they will honor my deal and they had the filter in stock. I called the Duluth location he said he's not honoring my deal he does not have the filter it was gonna be more. I asked him could I bring the filter he said no hung up on me... poor customer service.Do not go to this location especially if you are a woman. In need of an oil change asked my android where the closest place was to get one ? Midas and Goodyear popped up they are literally next door to one another. Touching the Midas app. was able to download a coupon for a standard oil change for $19.99. Walking in Brian was friendly and was able to start work immediately. Several minutes later he came back and informed me a belt and two lights needed replacing. Knowing I could replace the lights myself for about four dollars passed on them doing it. The belt is on the "to do list." About 40 minutes had passed and the car was finally ready to go. *Something to keep in mind Midas does not "top off fluids" when getting an oil change like other places do or will in between visits. read more

I have been to this repair shop twice. Once to get my car inspected for a sound from suspension. Not only they did a good job inspecting and explaining to me the problem with a description of parts and work required they dropped me back to work and offered to pick up later. They advised me to see dealership and did not charge a fee. I trust this place and appreciate their honesty !! read more

My truck had an annoying exhaust rattle since I bought it used a year ago. Finally decided to do something about it, took it to the Toyota dealer and they offered to replace the entire exhaust pipe! Way too expensive. They suggested a repair shop who could cut/weld exhaust. Ok, so looked up the closest Midas. Took it to Duluth, 30 min before close. The mechanic took a look and offered that if I could wait he could get to it once he finished the current car. Deal! He finished an hour after closing, and the price was reasonable. No more rattle! After my unsuccessful and rude communication with Hendricks Chevrolet service department, I decided to just go down the street to Midas to have my car oil changed and the tire rotated. It took only 35 min for them to do the job vs the dealership telling me 2 to 3 hrs wait. The technician Brian was so nice and polite. I was able to see him servicing my Sonic 2012. Great job, Midas! I don't know why there are several negative reviews for this Midas location. Personally, I'd take these negative reviews with a pound of salt. I've been going here for three years for my car problems. Every time, they did a great job, and prices are very reasonable. Those who work here (Brian, Wyatt (spelling may be wrong), and Harold) are absolutely good-natured and honest people. They do as much as they can to help you save money (such as suggesting you don't need a certain service when you don't really need it). But customers need to remember this is a business, and cars are expensive investments. This Midas location and the workers here DO NOT scam their clients. I've been to other car repair places in the Duluth area before going here, but Midas has been the one giving the best service to me. Came in to check my brakes and tires, found out the rotors were wearing down, so got them replaced as well as upgraded the back tires. Harold, the mechanic working on my car today, showed me personally in the working area what was happening to my rotors and how they needed to be replaced. They are VERY transparent with what they are doing, which is a big brownie point in my book. Plus, you can peek at them from the window inside if you're that concerned about what they're doing with your car. The cost was a small price to pay to protect myself and others while I'm on the road. Sometimes, the wait can be a few hours depending on what you're coming in for, and getting parts could take time, too. The mechanics here do everything they can to provide the best service for their customers. I'm more than willing to wait a few hours if that means I get a complete car check and my car is 100% safe and working again. Will continue going here! read more

I use to recommend this place to friends, not anymore. I went to get an oil change one morning they were busy they asked me to come back in the afternoon when i returned i was told it would be an hr wait. I decided to make an apt. For the following day, when i arrived for my apt. I was told it would be a couple hrs before they could get to it. I explained i had an apt and was already there twice the day before. I was told they will get it done as soon as possible. I made a point to tell them my wiper fluid was empty they assured me it would be filled. The day after i left my wind shield covered in pollen i tried to use wiper fluid nothing came out,when i checked it it was completely empty. If they didn't fill something as simple as that even with my reminder what else was skipped on. Very disappointed. read more

I have been going to this Midas for just over two years and will not go anywhere else unless they recommend it. My first experience was with my check engine light just prior to my emission tests. I took it to them to have the problem fix. I was there for two hours and left my "repaired" car. But five minutes later the light came back on and a I went straight back to them and they realized they fixed only part of the problem. They immediately repaired the other problem which took three hours. For which I was only charged for the part since they made the mistake. Since then I have been a loyal customer. Let gets this out of the way why my one star rating of this auto repair shop. Simple: It's a scam that these people preying on customers who need help the most with their car trouble. I know I will get nothing out in writing this review but just wanted to alert and help others from falling on their unethical tactics that this shop used on me. By the way, I shared many of the bad experiences that some reviewers came across in dealing with this shop. My bad experiences with this shop all began with my car having trouble starting. I had my car towed to this shop hoping to get it fixed in a reasonable time frame. They first told me it would be around an hour or two to diagnose the problems. They called me 2 days later and said the water pump and thermostat need to be replaced and quoted me the cost would be $750. I asked them if a bad water pump would actually cause my car to not start; they gave me a story that it can cause the whole system to shut down. I was very skeptical with their explanation based on the bit of knowledge that I have in cars. But I really didn't have much leverage to not letting them fix my car due to the fact that my car couldn't start and be driven to another repair shop. So, another two days gone by with my car in this shop and they finally called me and said everything is working as it should. I went to pick up the car and paid them after they assured me everything works while I was in the shop. I started my car and instantly I saw the check-engine came on and the engine didn't sound right. I told them the problems and they said to me that the car has to be driven for around 150 miles for the computer to relearn all the system functions. I expressed my doubts but they insist that's how the car function after the repair. Now they changed their story and told me that it wasn't the water pump problem but it was the coolant temperature sensor that went bad. The quote they gave me on the water pump was $250 for the part and $240 for labor. The sensor costs around $30. But they said a lot more labor was involved to replace the sensor; they are actually charging me less but would honor their original quote. I drove off the lot for about 2 miles and the radiator fan kicked on with the temperature gauge indicating cold. Then car was running rough and the engine didn't sound right. I know my car well. It had no check-engine light on and no fluid leaks coming from the undercarriage before I brought the car to this shop. I drove back to this shop immediately and told them the problems. The next day, they called me and said the sensor they put on was faulty. They said the won't be able to get another one for 3 days. There is a Ford dealer about 2 miles away and even the local auto stores have this part as I have called to check. Another 4 days gone by, they called and said now everything is working. I picked up the car and noticed engine coolant was leaking. They just wanted me to go away and told me it was the car being overfilled. The next day, it continues to leak and went back to this Midas shop. Now, they don't even care because I paid them and they just made me wait and said the shop is busy now. The said I should drive it for a while and the coolant would stop leaking. They didn't put the car up on the lift to see where the leak was coming from. They treated me the same way two days later when I went back to them showing them the coolant leaks coming from the underside of the car. I feel like I am writing a book on the bad experiences that I had with this Midas shop. But I just thought I should alert others who might be thinking of bringing their cars to this place for repairs. I am hoping my write up here on Yelp would help someone. read more

This Midas is a classic example of why everyone should be skeptical of Auto-Repair shops. I went in for an oil change and was swindled into a "necessary" repair by their shady mechanics, who did an amateur job replacing the part. They also attempted to trick me into replacing another part, which turned out to be a just fine once my regular mechanic inspected it & fixed their mistake. I would advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere, or else prepare to gypped. read more

I took my car in for an oil change and to replace a tire. I was given an estimate turnaround of 1 and a half hours. I made the decision to wait for my car. It wasn't very busy and there appeared to be 2 mechanics in addition to the manager there at the time. The employees seemed friendly, but weren't very focused on work. There was a lot of time spent in the garage socializing rather than working on cars. Ultimately it took 2 hours just for the oil change and I was told it would be an additional 40 minutes for the tire replacement. Normally the delay would be understandable if it were busy or mechanics were actually working, but this was unacceptable. I opted out of the new tire and decided to take my business to another shop. read more

I am so livid right now. I took my car to this location in February and had them replace my exhaust manifold, which cost me over $1000. The next day I started my car and it sounded horrible. We drove it to the shop, which is less than a mile away, and was told they forgot to tighten the screw for the O2 sensor. When leaving, we realized the service engine light was on and my husband took it back. They told him they forgot to reset the light. About 2 days later the light came back on. My husband took it back and we were told we had a faulty O2 sensor. We purchased the sensor and they replaced it. This cost us another $200. The next week, the light came back on. My husband took it back and they reset the light. A week later the light came back on. My husband takes the care back and we were told that the sensor we purchased was defective. We wanted to get another opinion because we have never had issues with the car prior to this. We took it to Nissan and Meineke who told us Midas welded over the area where the sensor should go. They placed the previous sensor in the incorrect area. I am so livid right now! I will be writing a complaint. I understand mistakes happen, but we took our car back to them several times and NO ONE told use what happened. This caused us to pay more money out of pocket. This is unacceptable. Came here yesterday to ask if they could do my brakes because they closed at 6 and I was getting there at 5. I was told they probably could, as I'm waiting I hear the guy I talked to (who I'm assuming is the head mechanic) yelling at someone to be careful. Later he comes back in and tells me they need to order the pads for my jaguar's rear pads and the total cost came out to over $400, I had to pay a $150 down payment. As I'm waiting for them to pull up with my car the mechanic comes to me with my jaguar emblem saying that it fell off when the hood was raised, and try to insinuate that it was jiffy lubes fault because I had a sticker that showed I had just got my oil changed there, I looked at the piece that secures the jaguar emblem and it looked like it had been slashed. As the guy hands me my keys he says your engine light is on and everything which made me uncomfortable because he said it as if it were a setup for some future repairs they were going to introduce later. I decided to just suck it up and get my brakes done at the dealership, I'll be calling later and hopefully for the sake of customer service they'll refund me my $150 read more

I took my car to the Midas near my place for an oil change. I also asked them to change the air cabin filter which Wyatt Cunningham (the manager) said they could do. They took out the old filter and told me that there seems to be some mold around the filter and offered to clean the area with some chemical to remove the mold. He said that it would be $100 to spray that chemical and an additional $15 for the filter (normal price $25) after I asked him whether the $100 included the filter. To make a long story short, I ended up with a bill of $440 after I left there and now am wondering why I agreed to that mysterious spray for $100. Aside from the oil change, they rotated my tires and told me that I needed new break pads. In summary, I am still upset that I ended up paying so much and what's more, I had a severe allergic reaction to the chemical he sprayed in my air cabin. My car battery died in the parking lot of the large strip shopping center where this shop is located. I got to the shop at 7:25. All the shop's bay doors were open. One guy was outside the back bay doors doing something with an SUV. Another guy was in the bay area looking at a computer. He looked up and saw me, I said that my car died and I needed a new battery. He looked back at the screen, mumbled something, then walked into the office. The customer door was locked. Inside the guy talked to another guy for a couple of minutes. I decided to go elsewhere because it seemed that I was being ignored. I got about 15 feet from the customer door when the mumble-guy leaned out the customer door and said, "Hey! We need to fill out paperwork first!" The mumbler could speak clearly but I was annoyed and kept going to another shop across the street. The guy at the competitor greeted me, spoke clearly, and helped me immediately. If the mumbler had said to me clearly, when I arrived, that it would be a few minutes before someone could do the paperwork, I'd have stayed there. How much other business is the mumbler causing them to lose? read more
