I will never bring a vehicle here. They did a tune up. Before I could get a block down the street. The check engine light came on. My vehicle drove terrible. They made my vehicle worse. I brought the vehicle back. They said it needed another part. They installed it. I drove the vehicle away. It still drove terrible. And the engine was skipping. Then the check engine light came on again. I brought it back again They told me that was the transmission. They could not figure what was wrong. I should have known they did not know what they where doing because they took all 4 wheels off & had my vehicle sitting on the wheel hub & axles on the ground to do a tune up. I've been to this Midas a couple of times for maintenance and checkups (so far oil changes and a new tire) on my 2018 Toyota, and I've always gotten great service. They do a courtesy inspection on your whole vehicle, with pictures and technician notes that they send right to your phone or email. I've never made an appointment, and both times I came by I waited in the waiting room (which has tv and a coffee station) for a couple hours. If you plan on hanging out, bring something to do even if you make an appointment. I asked them to check my squeaky brakes and when they didn't find an issue in the front , they made sure to inform me there'd be additional charges to check my back brakes (and explained that it requires them to remove the wheel), and asked me before replacing my air filters even though they obviously needed to go. I appreciated the transparency! I wanted to give a special shout out to the guy who seems like he runs things. I'm not sure if he's the owner or the manager, and I should've gotten his name but he usually has a beanie on and is very kind and helpful to the other customers and I. He popped between the car floor and the lobby, making sure all clients were informed on their car situation, writing tech notes and answering questions on the phone. The other mechanics were all friendly as well and busy working hard ! After checking the brakes, they determined the squeaks were cosmetic, but he correctly guessed that I use automatic car washes and took extra time to explain that if I drive a bunch and let my brakes and rotors get hot before I go, the detergent can build up and make them squeak! I had no idea! I would also like to note that most customers this morning were women. It ain't fancy, but I did feel safe as a female here. Of course car maintenance is expensive, and it takes time too- but I felt like they kept me in the loop about all the charges and gave me a good deal. They even added an extra coupon for me! I recently had a very disappointing experience at Midas. On January 30, I went in to get brake repairs done. I dropped off my car, and the team seemed to review everything thoroughly. They contacted me promptly once the repairs were completed, and I picked up my car the same day. The next day, I used my car to run a few errands. As I was driving in midtown ., my brakes completely failed, and I nearly crashed. Fortunately, I was close to home and was able to get back safely. Upon inspecting the vehicle, I discovered brake fluid leaking from the car. I immediately contacted the store manager, who claimed that this wasn't Midas's fault and that it could've happened at any point, despite the fact that the brake fluid was leaking and my brakes had failed right after the repair. They repaired the car and i requested they refund some of the services due to it being done incorrectly. They stated there was nothing they could do, so I escalated the issue to the district manager Eric (seeing that i almost got into an accident and believe they should refund a portion of the 1000 dollars i spent on breaks). However, he was equally unhelpful, telling me that Midas doesn't offer refunds for services, even when the initial repair seemed to have been done incorrectly. Overall, I'm very dissatisfied with the service I received, and I won't be returning. The lack of accountability and refusal to make things right left me with no confidence in their service. Oil change time! After realizing that my oil was low (after several notifications in my car lol) I needed to take action. So I called Midas! I found a coupon for Midas online and I was so in. With such a busy week ahead of me, I was concerned that I couldn't get an appointment in time but I lucked out and there was open availability. Prior to visiting after scheduling my appointment, I called into the shop asking if I could come earlier. I was given the green light by a kind gentleman and made my way over. It was easy to find and when I arrived, there were a number of cars in front of me. I signed in and was told that it would be between 2+ hours, ughhh. I hate to wait lol especially when I believe an appointment sets my spot. Obviously I don't do a lot with my car because this is the norm across the board lol. If I knew it'd still take that long after that phone call encouraging me to come by, I would have planned better lol they had a chill waiting area + great wifi that made me wish I brought my laptop to work a bit. And they even were playing "In the heat of the night" one of my fave throwback shows lol. After less than an hour or so, my name was called! Omg, the joy lol I love when a business curbs your enthusiasm by making you expect a longer wait and then, boom. Quick as hell lol. They suggested new windshield wipers for me, which were totally needed, and I was so impressed, I just went with it. No price check, just vibes and smiles. Such a great experience and I even left with an informative brochure that also included a point system hyping guests to return and engage in their loyalty program. Great, quick, and easy experience just now! I called yesterday to make an appointment for this morning (although they're really more of a first-come-first-serve model). The fender liner had come loose on the driver's side of my car and was dragging whenever I would drive. I waited about an hour and was able to get some work done in their waiting room, which is nothing fancy but has wifi and enough seating (including two high-top tables). After providing resolution, they explained to me what they did to secure the liner back in place, then proceeded to say "no charge"! I was pleasantly surprised and always appreciate good customer service and generosity like this. I ran the code and it said it was the radiator, they claimed it wasn't the radiator and said that my AC system needed a "recharge". I explained that my situation should be a quick fix and the guy at the front said I would have to wait an hour.... I said no prob, and sat down to wait. Literally 10 minutes later- he says "they are looking at your car now" 10 minutes after that, they handed me my keys... no charge and we were on our way! I have gone to this location twice within pass week. There is a sign on the front of the building thats states "Free tire repair during business hours". For my specific scenario I only needed to have some air added to my tire. Keeping in mind the sign posted on the building....On my first trip one of the techs explained to me that it was self service and pointed at air compressor hose with no attachments. A few moments later another tech comes and drops off the pressure gauge, I have to attach the pressure gauge myself in order to add air to my tire and get on my way....we're just going to ignore what's posted. On my second trip there was a lady that was parked in front of the 'air station' and one of techs was adding air to all of her tires.She began to get out of her car but he waved for her to remain in her car until completion, she handed a tip and proceeded on her way. As it was my turn to pull up to the 'air station' and the tech had in those few moments walked away even though I had announced what I was there for and also received acknowledgement...after I parked and got out I asked one of the techs "Is there not free tire repair/air service " making reference to the sign and his response to me was "For most people, but you can pay me to put air in your tire." Yeahh so at that point I thanked him for his response, added my own air and continued about my day. I share this review to let potential customers know there are plenty of surrounding tire/mechanic shops that will honor the services they have published and treat All of their customers equally. Midas failed to identify my brake pads, rotors, and calipers were burnt to a crisp before a long road trip, even when I asked them specifically to look for something wrong with my car. I'd asked because it had been making noises and wanted to ensure I was ok to drive it 6 hours to Florida. The result was that I had to take it into a separate auto repair shop in a Florida location, and that resulted in having to leave my car there to get it repaired. $1300 that could have been avoided, not to mention having to travel BACK to Florida just to pick up my car. Additionally, when I was at the Midas location, the staff was incredibly rude to me. I'm fully vaccinated, and only removed my mask to drink coffee. I was rudely KICKED OUT of the indoor area, forced to wait outside while they finished my car. All around, this was the rudest customer experience I've ever received and they failed to do their job. I could not recommend a business less. DO NOT go to Midas for your auto needs. THEY ARE AWFUL. read more

As friendly and efficient a car mechanic service can be. Came here because my car battery would keep dying. They diagnosed it within 10 minutes of my arrival and informed us that the battery needs to be replaced. Before we could even proceed the tech himself recommended first calling the dealership and checking if it's covered under warranty being such a 2 year old car. So glad he made that recommendation and it saved us close to $400. To make our experience even more efficient, he didn't even charge us for the diagnosis. Instead got our battery jump started so we could drive to the dealership. They definitely have won a customer and the next time we need any car service this will be the first and hopefully the last stop for us. As for the location, for midtown/west side ATLANTA it's very convenient. Though like any place, Northside drive can be crazy busy so better to avoid rush hour. The location is very clean and they have a small waiting area if one needs to stay longer. read more

They tried to sell me a battery for 250 bucks when my car battery died.***Keep in mind, i have a standard economical sedan*** I managed to take my car down the street to Advanced Auto Parts-even told them the story about what happened and they laughed and said that Midas actually purchases their batteries from Advanced Auto Parts and charge an extra service fee to customers for picking it up from them. The battery I got from AAP cost almost half the price Midas would have charged me, customer service was honest and helpful AND they installed the battery for free. If you have custom wheels and tires DO NOT go to this shop. In early August 2020 I went in have some new racing brakes installed and somehow during the process of taking my 22 inch rims and tires off my car they cross threaded and stripped all of my lug nuts and even broke one of my struts that attached to the lug nuts. Now I didn't know any of this until I went to another shop to get my tires replaced two weeks later. They could barely get my tires off as the lug nuts were damaged and even 2 had came off ! My life was put in danger driving my car in that condition. The employees were absolutely disrespectful and dismissive once I brought this to their attention and after contacting the owner next he even absolutely lied to the corporate office about the situation stating that I had the wrong lug nuts installed - which is impossible and implausible to begin with. I"m now stuck going through multiple levels of corporate management to rectify the situation and wasting even more of my time. These guys and this shop are the worst. Also, I'm starting to believe they installed my custom racing brakes wrong too as they are brand new and squealing. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS ! Update November 2020: Owner has continued to ignore all attempts to resolve. I'm in the process of filing a lawsuit against them. read more

A few months ago I needed new front brakes, so I went to Midas. Typically I go to the dealership for service, however, Midas brakes come with a lifetime warranty. Basically, after paying full price for brakes once, if you ever need brakes replaced again, the replacement fee is $50 for labor. That's a pretty good deal. The one time cost for new front brakes with resurfacing is just under $200. At Midas, I appreciated the complete inspection of my car as well as the hands on examination. John, the general manager, walked me around my car and explained the services and process. When I left Midas I knew what brake pads looked like, especially new brake vs. worn brake pads. For me seeing is believing and I truly believed I needed new front and back brakes once we thoroughly evaluated the wear and tear of my car. Overall I recommend Midas because they provide an examination and details. The prices were decent and as a woman, I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. This place destroyed my Jeep with a botched oil change. This happened in November 2015 and I have been so upset about it that I needed to just process my rage and not deal with yelping and Google reviewing. At the time, I reached out to several attorneys to sue this establishment, but between how upsetting the whole experience was and the time, money, and unlikelihood of it being worth it financially, I decided to just put it behind me. However, I would like for others to know to stay far, far away from this place. I had an oil change performed here on a Jeep Liberty. They did not attach the filter back properly so the oil slowly leaked out over the next 16 hours. It finally emptied enough that the oil change light came on while I was driving down 85. I wondered, why would the oil change light come on after just getting it changed? And just like that, on I-85, my Jeep engine was suddenly destroyed. The management here literally laughed in my face when I had the Jeep towed back to them (I had just moved to Atlanta a month previous and literally had no idea where to even tow it to from off the highway. I now know about Motor City South, thank god for them). They took genuine joy in having destroyed my Jeep knowing that I had no recourse. They even refused to return my Jeep to me saying that they would replace the engine for like $7000. I obviously was outraged by this and they adamantly refused to return my Jeep. So I called my boss, the only person I knew in Atlanta at the time, and he spoke with my company's legal department and they spoke with me. They advised me to call the police. The officer was an absolute joke. The officer took great joy in playing Matlock, reviewing the video of the oil change and asserting that he was confident, because he knows a lot about Jeeps, that the oil change was done properly. The video was totally grainy and purple. There was no video of the underside where the oil change occurred. There was nothing to see either way. They all accused me of removing the oil from own Jeep. And laughed. And laughed. They did allow me to take the Jeep while the officer was there, though. I had it towed to the Jeep dealership. The tow truck driver told me that all of Atlanta's sheriff department has their cop cars serviced here. So there you go. Evil, evil people here. And on top of that, they gave me a $3000 estimate of "repairs" they wanted to make to my Jeep on the day of the oil change. The appraisers and Jeep's mechanics assured me it was bogus - as if I didn't already know. Just truly some of the most awful people I have ever encountered work here, including the district manager, Dustin Welch. They laughed at me. They really, truly enjoyed that their total lack of mechanic skills destroyed my Jeep. read more

This shop gave me an A/C repair estimate that was almost $2400. I took it to Anthem Automotive in Buckhead and they did the repair for $1400. Midas also claimed that they tested the system but it had no Freon in it after their diagnostic which seemed odd to me since it needs Freon in it to test the A/C system. I'd avoid this shop unless your insurance is covering the repair. read more

Luckily, I only had to wait like 15 min for them to finish an oil change on a car before mine and then they replaced the lamp in my light which only took like 10-15 min.
