Caterpillar roll, Alaska roll, Green Dragon roll

This wasn't my first time ordering sushi here so I already knew it'd be great. First time buyers will notice the prices for their sushi are pretty high, but you'll understand when you see it. Their rolls are HUGE. They are up to twice the size of the rolls you'd get anywhere else. So the price are very reasonable when you take that into account, especially when you add the 10% cash discount. We always order the edamame when we get sushi, and this was some of the best we've had. This edamame was still crisp which was refreshing after getting it overcooked pretty often at other places. They also used the perfect amount of salt so it was subtle but noticeable. The rolls themselves not only tasted amazing, but also looked very nice with a flower on top. I've never seen a sushi restaurant put that amount of effort into presentation. I usually get turned off sushi with spicy mayo because there's too much, but the Alaska roll here had the perfect amount. The Green Dragon roll was amazing, with crisp tempura shrimp and fresh avocado. The Caterpillar roll was incredible and definitely the highlight of the meal. The BBQ eel was great and this roll had so much flavour without being overly complicated. We'll definitely be here again for another Caterpillar roll!

I'm not a big fan of Sushi, but the food we ordered from Midami was pretty great, I have to say. The presentation was spectacular! We ordered a lot of stuff to try... Chicken Katsu, Spicy Dumplings, Beef Yaki Soba, Chicken Teriyaki, Kaarage and a variety of different sushi rolls. Main entrees also include rice, salad and miso soup. Overall, was very impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. I always avoid miso soup and the Beef Yaki Soba was not the best (I may try chicken next time). But the spicy dumplings and chicken Kaarage were great appetizers! If you're a fan of sushi, you definitely have to try Midami.

I am so happy we've finally found the go-to spot for really good sushi in Durham. I will say this sushi is comparable to sushi you'd find in Markham/Toronto. It is located on the southeast corner of Taunton and Simcoe. There is parking but it's a bit tight to get in and out of as it's right off the main intersection. The rolls range from $14-16 but they are massive. Absolutely massive. The quality of ingredients are great and they definitely do not skimp out on quantity. I'm usually a one bite per roll kinda gal but these rolls are a 2-4 bite situation! My favourite roll was the Volcano, which resembles a deep fried dynamite roll with asparagus and cream cheese - may not sound good but it was delicious!!! The Angry Salmon was also excellent.. if you like spicy salmon. The presentation is also very nice. They add cute little flowers and decor to the orders to make for a visually appealing photo. The actual place is rather small looking, of course they are not doing dine-in at the moment due to the lockdown. If you pay cash, there is a 10% discount. Check this place out! It's worth it.

I've always been the type to get scared of getting take out sushi instead of ayce, but this place has finally put those concerns to rest. Giant portions and very tasty. This will be my new regular takeout spot.

This sushi restaurant is the newest addition to Oshawa. I ordered takeout for dinner, utilizing their 15% off all items on their menu as it is newly opened. I ordered 3 special rolls. Angry spicy salmon, spider roll and black dragon roll. Overall, VERY comparable to sushi restaurants in Markham and Scarborough. Flavours of the rice was evenly balanced. Presentation of the rolls were great. I liked how they put the rolls on a platter rather than 2-3 separate foam containers. Only negative I would say about the rolls is the bacon bits on their spider roll. Not really sure why bacon. Doesn't really go well with sushi. Maybe they should put something else on top like tempura bits along with the potato sticks. Prices are slightly higher, but comparable to other sushi restaurants in the GTA. Support local businesses, especially this restaurant if you love Japanese food. Will definitely come back and try other items.

Fresh and big portion! They are super popular but are quick. The flowers are always a nice touch!!

Amazing food - portion, taste, freshness and presentation were all on point. My husband loved the chicken katsu. Best sushi I've tried in Durham Region!

My friend had the King of Kings as our server said this is one of their most popular choices. I opted for the Spicy Charsu. Now I understand some people can't handle heat but I live off of Purple Tongue hot sauce which is made with some pretty hot peppers. I asked for a level one and the lady explained that the spice level on the Charsu was a whole series of levels higher than the King of Kings. I get that . Give me the heat. Anywho, she was comfortable with giving me 0.5 but said I could make it hotter if need be. Ok, better to start smaller I guess. They put some sauce on the side which I added to my bowl. Personally I found the 0.5 a nice tingle; it was good. Made my nose run. But I'm totally getting the level 1 next time. My friend however tried a sip of my broth, spit it out and said poison poison because of the heat Mind you, his King of Kings was a level 1. Which to me tasted creamy and delicious. I love a good pork bone soup and I opted for the Spicy Charsu because of the pork bone base. I loved the broth. It was perfection. The noodles were so fresh . The portion size was enormous. I kept eating and more noodles appeared. The Charsu had an amazing flavor to it . Smoky and delicious . My friend is a larger man and even he commented on the portion size saying he would be ok with a smaller size as he was so full. Good portions for your money. We also had the Gyoza and the TakoYaki. The TakoYaki was soft and loaded with the delicious sauce. The Gyoza were enormous. We were both 100% satisfied with our visit and will be back for sure.

The concerned server told me that it may be painful, but being the chili head that I am, I gladly took on the challenge. It was a larger bowl than their regular size and my ramen came topped with lots of corn, some mushrooms, bean sprouts and 6 large pieces of chasu. The broth was magma red, but it was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it was spicy but not to the point where it would warrant a warning. The spicy broth tasted like a mix of Buldak sauce and Capsaicin, but didn't have much depth. I finished my ramen, broth and all and enjoyed most of the experience. The least favorite was the chasu and the egg as chasu did not taste fresh, and I could not taste the char on them at all. The egg was over-cooked and under marinated which was disappointing. It's still one of the few ramen options in Durham but can't say it's comparable to the other Kenzo locations.
