Came for lunch yesterday. We didn't know that we had arrived about 10 mins before opening but they were fine with it. Apparently we just had to wait for the rice to finish cooking. We ordered a beer and a glass of wine while we waited. Cold and cheap. Ordered some butterfish and salmon sushi, edamame, salads and of course the miso soup. Added on spicy salmon and tuna rolls. The fish tasted quite fresh, and you could especially tell when eating the nigiri. The maki was just okay as the rice fell apart a little. I purchased this with the BOGO deal on Uber eats. With the discount each Combo B plate was just under $9 which I think is an amazing deal. For this price I think it was definitely worth it. However, I do not think this sushi quality justifies its regular price of ~$17. In the past I have also tried the torched sushi and rolls here, which are pretty good. I had no idea this place existed until Uber Eats showed me! I got a dynamite roll and salmon sashimi and edamame. I love supporting local businesses so I thought I'd give this place a try. The sashimi was really fresh and good! The dynamite roll was good as well, I've enjoyed better though regardless it was good. (Thank you Uber Eats for offering buy one get one on this item). The edamame was good as well but hardly has any salt on it. I would love to trust the rest of the menu out and see what else I'd like from the seeing as they aren't far away from me. Finding decent vegetarian sushi options can be tricky if you want something other than avocado and cucumber. It's also tough to balance quality with value especially in Toronto. For me Juzz does all of the above and with great service. My go-to order to treat myself is their 6-piece tofu avocado and yam tempura sushi, with 2 pieces of tamago and seaweed salad, which after tax is just about $20! Everything tastes great and it's super easy to order by phone then pick up. When you call, you can specify whether or not you need cutlery, and each order is packaged beautifully with plenty of wasabi and ginger, plus soy sauce though for me that's a kitchen staple anyways. Also, if you do choose to order for pick up, Juzz offers 10% off if you feel safe to pay cash upon arrival. Overall I really love my usual order, I appreciate the price point and how seamless their takeout experience is. A Fair and Honest Review: I was surprised by the raving reviews on this place. This was probably one of the most inauthentic sushi restaurants I have been to. I ordered the 30 piece set, Juzz's Tray, and was surprised by how quickly the first set of signature rolls came out. Under a minute - literally a couple seconds after we ordered, which makes me wonder whether the food was pre-made and pre-torched as this combo seems to be the most popular. Secondly, the rest of the dishes were very heavily torched, to a point where the fish was fully cooked. The fish didn't taste fresh (probably frozen), and was masked heavily with sauce to mask the poor quality. I was disappointed to find that there was pesto on my shrimp sushi and mustard sauce on one of the tuna pieces that came with the combo. Overall, if you are looking for an authentic Japanese experience, this isn't it, but if you enjoy "fusion" food, then you may enjoy yourself here. I have to say - their presentation of the food was good, and nothing tasted bad, but you're looking for traditional Japanese flavours, this isn't your place. read more

Since the pandemic started, I think I've gone to this place at least a dozen times. I am OBSESSED with Juzz sushi and I'm glad this place is walking distance to me. Their torched sushi is easily the best torched sushi that I've had in Toronto. The torched salmon sushi just melts in the mouth and has a nice hot kick with a jalapeño on top. Huge portions!!! Came here for the first time yesterday and the quality of their sashimi is great. I went for combination e which is the salmon lover set - 5 pcs salmon sashimi, spicy salmon roll and 3 pcs salmon sushi ($14.95) and also ordered the house roll - cream cheese, kani, avocado, shrimp topped with torced salmon ($6.95 for 4 pieces). The salmon was very fresh and pieces were pretty big. My friend who ordered the chirashi also had very fresh fish. The portions here are definitely quite big which surprised us in a good way. I had friends order the poke bowl as well which was huge (I'm definitely getting that next time lol). Only downside in my opinion is that there is a bit too much rice in the sushi. best sushi I've had hands down in Toronto! this is a must go. being a sushi lover I surprisingly have never tried torched sushi and my friend brought me here. inside the place is small with around 4 booths and a window bar. it's very modern and chic. the waiters here are also very friendly and the food came quickly. we chose to get the sushi platter called the Juzz tray that includes 30 pieces of sushi : 14 torched sushi , 2 torched signature roll and 1 set of oshizushi . we got the 14 torched sushi first and they were all difficult and looked unique with different toppings and sauce for each. each one tasted amazing and the ingredients that came with each one was carefully selected. my favourite would have to be the scallop and salmon. the scallop was the best I've ever had it melters in my mouth and had a buttery taste. the salmon was soft and a little smoky. next came the salmon oshzushi and two signature rolls. the oshuzushi was my favourite of the whole platter. The salmon was so soft it was even hard to pick up! in the middle of the rice at the bottom was more salmon so they def didn't skimp out on that. it melted in my mouth. the fish is such high quality ! the other two were very unique. one was salmon and had cream cheese inside. typically I do not like cream cheese in my sushi but this one had the perfect amount and actually taste so good! the other was eel and again amazing. everything in this platter was so unique and the torched sushi really stood out to me. the price here is average but the quality and taste went beyond my expectations. everyone come here !!! read more

My fiancée and I were in Toronto for the weekend and decided we wanted to get sushi, it was just down the road from where we were staying so we figured we'd give it a shot. It. Is. Amazing. 4/5 stars for the overall meal but 5/5 for the value and the tastiness of the torched salmon Oshizushi. The restaurant is clean and the service was quick and friendly. It smelled a little smokey inside because of all the sushi-torching they do but it wasn't unpleasant and didn't seem to stick to my clothes. Between 2 people, we ordered an 8 piece salmon oshizuhi ($11.95), 2 4-piece dynamite rolls ($4.95 each) and a sushi combo A (12 pieces of assorted sushi for $10.95). The oshizushi was fantastic - amazing flavour and great fish to rice ratio. The crispy garlic and green onions on top were a really nice touch. It also had bonito flakes on top which I could do with or without. The dynamite rolls were okay, nothing to write home about. I could tell the tempura shrimp was fresh but there was too much cucumber and very little avocado. The sushi combo had a really nice variety and was decent in freshness. Overall, I was really impressed with the prices and the salmon oshizushi really blew me away. I'll be back just to order more oshizushi. read more

Juzz sushi is one place I love in the area. They have the torch sushi here which is harder to find. They might be pricer than the average sushi joint but it is way worth it. I wish they have complimentary miso soup and salad. That is my only complain. They give you some wasabi here too. Fish is always fresh here and the torch scallop is to die for. randomly saw this place in dec and went in to give it a try. they literally just opened so it wasn't too busy. quick service and good sushi selection. we have the aburi combo plus another salmon oshizushi only gripe is that the salmon oshizushi was done about different than other places with the jalapeño and it's done with other sauce and bonito flakes. one of the stand alone aburi salmon pieces in the combo was done with the jalapeño so not sure why the pressed version is done different. definitely would come back but would ask if they could do the pressed sushi the other way. pricing is great as welll read more

The first time I tried Juzz sushi, I really enjoyed the experience. The food tasted fresh and really well prepared, however, the second time I ordered from here, the food was almost inedible. The rice tasted stale and it was drenched in a terrible mayo-like sauce that wasn't used the first time I ordered from here. It left a very strange after taste. All I could taste was the sauce. I agree with another reviewer who believes that they are using the sauce to mask the poor quality fish they are using. Possibly frozen fish. I will not be returning. If you want to know what delicious aburi sushi should taste like, try Miku restaurant (clean and simple flavours). Obviously, it is a different price point, but it makes you question if you are eating spoiled fish here. read more

I lived in Japan for several years. I generally don't eat sushi in Toronto because it's either extremely overpriced or the quality is just way below what would ever be served in Japan. But a Japanese friend recommended Juzz, and it is close to where I live, so I thought it was worth a try. I only tried their 10 piece sushi set as a takeout order, but I must say, the quality and price is VERY good by Toronto standards. In fact, for the price, you would get a similar level of quality in Japan. I'm impressed.
