I first tried our local Walgreens-HUGE mistake!-and then decided to try to give this business a chance. Best decision I could have made! They are fantastic! Oakdale Pharmacy is the blessing I didn't know I needed. My…read moreinsurance changed and my previous pharmacy wasn't in network any longer. Since I take certain meds, I had a hard time finding a pharmacy who was taking new patients (everyone is so overloaded since the big chain store closed). Oakdale has been amazing since day one. They get my meds ready so I can pick up multiple on one day. They are always so kind and even have given advice when I was dealing with a recurring medical issue. The pharmacist, Christina (I don't think that's how it's spelled) is a kind hearted woman who truly cares about her patients. I don't dread going to the pharmacy anymore, going here is a pleasure. To top it off, they asked me how to pronounce my Finnish last name, which is always bonus points for me! They also have some OTC products and the price is a fraction of the cost compared to a big box store. I hope I never have to change pharmacies again. Thank you, Oakdale Pharmacy, for making this part of my life so much smoother.

If you're going to use this pharmacy, be sure to pick it up in person or you're screwed.

Went to River Oak pharmacy to get my Covid vaccine they said that it was going to be a $40 co-pay…read moreand that it was no longer covered by the government and I said well it's supposed to be covered because I have United Health insurance and then some administrator came back while I was in the waiting room and said I had to "pay an administration fee and you can't ask for reimbursement from your insurance company and you can't turn it into anywhere and we're not giving you the shot unless you sign this paper saying that you understand that you can't ask for any reimbursement for this from any place else and you can't tell anyone about the fact that we charged you a fee or report it any where, and that we made you sign this paper." Part two: then when I got the shot they told me that it was only $25 and when I paid for the shot they gave me two receipts one for the $25 and another one for $140 showing that my insurance company covered the $140 so what's up with all of that?

Forget those other pharmacies, they don't even come close. I'm 80 and the pharmacist is always available to explain things. Usually same Pharmacist and he's really professional and happy to assist you . The ladies that work there are not dragging and burned out like the big chains. They are cheerful and great workers. I have not written a review of Carranza for fear that too many folks would flock there, but they deserve to be recognized. I would use this pharmacy if I lived miles away in Modesto. It should be noted that they are closed on weekends, but also noted they speak Spanish. It's a gem. Would you ever believe a Pharmacy was described as a gem. See for yourself.

My prescription was sent over to their pharmacy Friday morning. I called Saturday morning because I…read moredid not hear anything about my prescription being ready. I spoke to a representative and was told that they are still working on it and it should be ready soon. I told her that the prescription is time sensitive and if they can please fill it as soon as possible. She said that they are working on it right now and that it will be ready soon. I didn't hear back from them and called towards the end of the day to ask for an update. I was told by another representative that they actually do not have the item and that they placed an order for it. It should be available on Monday. When I told her the situation and that I was already told that it would be available today, she responded that they are not talking new patients at this time and that they should not even be filling my prescription. She said I should have called yesterday to see if they would accept my prescription and not assume they would fill it. Additionally during our conversation as I was explaining why this prescription was so important she started speaking to a customer. I would understand if it was an urgent matter but she was asking the customer how her day was going and mentioned she hadn't seen her in a while. I wish there was an option to provide 0 stars as a 1 star review is still too much credit for the experience I had.

The clerk that worked in the bakery was very friendly. The cashier clerk at self checkout was very friendly. It wasn't until I got to Starbucks, I purchased a nitro cold brew and a protein shake. I asked if I could buy a Venti cup of ice. She said they were low on cups and she could only offer a tall. I even went as far as asking if I could purchase something in a Venti cup that was inexpensive or even another large size as she was unwilling to let me buy one. She was unhelpful and I walked out feeling so embarrassed. It's my husbands birthday and we're going on a road trip and she was so rude for something so simple. I understand they are running low but I offered to buy it and that's poor inventory and ordering in my opinion. I spend so much money at Safeway and I couldn't buy a disposable good ‍

The store has great discounts and a variety of products. However, the online shopping experience is…read morea royal pain in the ass IMO, so it is better to go in store. Whenever I order online, they are always "out of stock" on items. Sometimes, I don't think the shoppers really look. Secondly, the past two times I shopped online, when I ask for a receipt, the printer doesn't work. I was told this last time that "it's been like this for the part few weeks" and "when it works, it works, but when it doesn't, it doesn't". What kind of crap service is that?! So your customer service only works when it is convenient for you? The manager should do something to fix the printer instead of relying on chance.
