We have been using Mid Cities pest control for years. We have been incredibly happy with all the technicians and staff. Everyone is always professional and personable. They are quick to respond when there is any sort of bug issue and always remind me when it's time to have our quarterly spray (since they do such a good job, we don't see bugs so we forget it's time.) Mid-Cities Pest Control is a poor service provider with poor customer service and clearly dishonest. My property management company contracts with Mid-Cities Pest Control to service my complex. Jane gave me a call on a Wednesday and we scheduled the service for the following day - Thursday, at noon. The following Thursday, a technician gave us a call at noon and stated that he was running behind and would give us a call when he arrived. That follow up call never came and neither did a knock on the door. I then called Mid-Cities at 3pm, 4pm, and 5pm respectfully that day to report that the technician never arrived. No one answered the phone. As a result, I emailed my property management company early Friday morning explaining that the unit was never serviced and we'd waited all day the day prior and I expected the issue to be rectified. I didn't hear back from anyone until Monday in which Mid-Cities called and stated their technician and a manager arrived to service the unit on Thursday at 12:15pm and no one answered the door. Jane, the Mid-Cities receptionist, then asked if I would be willing to speak to the manager directly because she didn't want to be the go between. I said yes, she placed me on hold to give him a call. After waiting a couple of minutes, she clicked back over and stated that the manager was not with the technician when they arrived, he was on the phone however and was sure he came to the unit. I then stated that it seemed someone was being dishonest. The report sent to my property management company was written by the manager and stated he was present at the time they arrived to the unit. Now he is saying he was not present, well why did you write the report? These pest control companies contract with properties and receive fees when the resident doesn't allow entry into a unit for a scheduled appointment so they lied to cover up the fact that the technician was likely overbooked and never came. When I stated these things to Jane, she became hostile and accused me of being a liar. WTF DO I HAVE TO LIE ABOUT? I'm the one who needs the service. I then stated I did not want to reschedule as Mid-Cities was not welcome in my unit due to Jane's behavior. Jane's response was simply to hang up in my face. Don't use this company. read more

I have been a customer of Mid Cities Pest Control for well over 20 years. I only used Scott, the exterminator in this company, as the other techs were not nearly as good or knowledgeable as Scott. I had the most unprofessional experience today with the office staff and owner of this company. We were set for a 10am outside spray with this company, however, the office did not call with a reminder yesterday, as has been normal. I called this morning, to confirm the 10am appointment today. Jane, who answered the phone, said I was not on the calendar today and asked that I hold. She was gone for awhile. Then, Gary, from the office came on the line. He said "a couple of months ago, we refunded you a $5 trip charge and you wanted it refunded to your credit card and the owner decided you were too picky, and does not want to do business with you anymore". I could not believe what I was hearing. They had a billing issue. My bill was $5 lower than what my credit card was charged, as they added a trip charge, the bill did not match the credit card charge. They added the trip charge without notifying the customers in the first place. They wanted to bring me $5 cash on the next visit. I said no, just please refund my CC. They did, even though it took awhile. I let them know the mischarge was their issue, not mine, and I just caught them at it. Apparently the owner held some sort of grudge that I wanted a CC credit and not depend on them to remember to send $5 with the tech. They cancelled my appointment, did not inform me, cancelled my service, did not inform me. That was the excuse. I asked for the owner name and they would not give it to me. They said if he wanted to speak to me, he would call me. What kind of company is this? Who treats customers like this? What kind of owner "throws" customers away because the customer caught them in a billing error? What kind of company does not give you the owner's name. I called the tech, he knew nothing about this. I am moving on and honestly, the office staff is horrible. I will be happy not to deal with them. I will making this as vocal on social media as possible and with the BBB. They should never be allowed to run a company or treat customers this way! Steer clear of this company. My tech is the only reason that I have been around so long. read more

Our family has used Mid-cities Pest Control for over 15 years and referred several customers to them over the years. They performed our initial treatment for termites on our residence several years ago and we have paid annually for an inspection warranty since then. Over the years we have used them for additional services several times. A few weeks ago I was emailed an invoice for services that were not even scheduled to be performed yet! I called the office to get more info and told them that it was off putting that I would be billed for services not even scheduled yet. The manager I spoke with was exceptionally rude! I was given conflicting reasons as to why this occurred but confirmed that it would continue as that is how their software operated. The manager said if I didn't like it to go elsewhere! Asked to speak to the owner. Next day the owner, Randy, called and offered no apologies for the rude behavior or any solutions to resolve the matter. Additionally told me they will not be honoring the warranty that we have had with them for over 15 years. Very disappointed in how unprofessionally this was handled. I began using Mid-Cities Pest Control (MCPC) in early 2011 for my quarterly pest control. Overall, I was satisfied with the service. I met their technician David. He seemed very knowledgable and patient and I felt he would be a good guy to work with my elderly, sometimes difficult mother. In 2012, I signed her up for quarterly pest control as well. In February of 2013, I noticed some red whelps on my mother's arms and discovered bugs in her bed. I called MCPC and they sent out a technician who confirmed that my mom had bed bugs. I was told bed bugs were not covered under my quarterly pest control service and it would be an additional $600.00 (including a "discount") to treat them. I called two other pest control services who said it would be approximately $500-$700 for them to treat for bed bugs so I asked MCPC to perform the service. At the time. I knew nothing about bed bugs. They performed their service. Because it was so badly stained, I decided replace the box springs. The MCPC technician said the treated mattress would be okay to continue to use and they recommended that we throughly clean the bed linens making sure the dry cycle temperature was on high for at least 20-30 minutes. We followed their instructions. Four months later I noticed more red whelps on my mothers arms. I called MCPC who sent out a tech who confirmed my mother once again had bed bugs. To my surprise I was informed that we only had a 60 day warranty on the first treatment. It would cost another $600.00 to re-treat and that the re-treat would only be warranted for 60 days. Shocked and appalled they would treat a loyal customer that way, I called in two other service providers who gave me two additional estimates - one for $600 with a six month warranty and another for $500 with a four month warranty. I also learned from the other providers that MCPC had not done enough and had not instructed us on how to prevent a re-infestation. I called David and expressed my displeasure and he agreed to talk to the owner of MCPC on my behalf. He called back and said that the owner was willing to give me a six month warranty but the price would still be $600. Because I had such admiration for David and the way he interacted with my mom, I agreed. I called MCPC and set up an appointment. I got a message later that afternoon that the owner had decided he couldn't give me a six month warranty at that price and I should go with one of the other providers. Needless to say, I am DONE with Mid-Cities Pest Control and will do everything I can to share my experience with others. I have since hired another provider who did a MUCH more thorough treatment of a much larger area of the house for $600 with a six month warranty. They will also be providing me with my quarterly pest control. I will do a separate report on them. read more

Everyone ive ever dealt with has been super friendly and helpful, i was sad to hear they had some bad reviews on here and wanted to help. Don't bother, you get what you pay for. This company has terrible customer service and their product simply doesn't work. I had to call another company to combat my issues because they couldn't do it. Their recommendation when I complained that my problem was getting worse was to wait and not use another product because that would stop their product from working. That was a crock. To say I was unhappy with the service I received from Mid-cities Pest Control would be an understatement. Not only did they fail to provide the services we required, they charged us incorrectly and have made little to no effort to issue a proper refund. We called them out because we heard noises in our attic. They came out to look in the attic and said they saw no evidence of roof rats (no droppings and no smell) but they put out a bait trap anyway. I told them I thought the sound was too loud to be roof rats. The noise continued, and I called them back out and a new technician moved the trap but said he did not see any evidence of roof rats. After the third time and my third technician and no explanation of what we were hearing, my husband went into the attic. Within 5 minutes he discovered large animal feces. It is very hard to understand how three different technicians could all miss this because it was in an open area right where I told them I was hearing the noise. A quick google search led me to believe it was most likely raccoon feces. We bought a trap and set it ourselves, but I did call Mid-Cities to let them know. I was disappointed, but we decided to keep the yearly service. They did let me know that it would be an additional charge to come and remove the animal from the attic. The receptionist called on Saturday, December 9, 2017 to schedule my second service of my yearly plan and I told them we had caught a raccoon and that my husband could not set the trap again because he had back surgery on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. The receptionist told me the owner, Randy, would have the technician set the trap and he would only charge me $45.00 to come back and remove the animal from the attic. I thought that was because they did not do the job I had originally called them out to do. On Monday, December 11, 2017 the technician showed up to set the trap and spray the house. When he set the trap he told me they would charge $85.00 to remove the animal. I did not dispute that, because the receptionist told me that Randy, the owner, had given me the quote of $45.00, so I assumed it would be resolved once we needed the animal to be removed. We caught the raccoon the next night. I called Mid-Cities to remove the animal and the receptionist told me it would be an $85.00 charge to remove the animal like the technician told me. I reminded her of the conversation we had on Saturday and she told me that Randy told Scott before he came over on Monday that it would be $85.00. I cancelled my yearly service. I do not do business with people that do not have the integrity to keep their word. It took me 6 1/2 weeks to get any kind of refund, and it was not the correct amount. I was a customer for five months and received two sprays. I feel I am owed half of the $ 514.18 I had paid for the yearly service. I only received two of the four scheduled sprays. I was only given back $127.29. I had to call several times and email to even get that back. I called again and asked to have Randy give me a call himself to give me a breakdown of the services I was being charged. But it gets worse. I got a text from the technician saying that Randy feels it would be fair if the technician gave me $65.00 personally to cover the refund, which would bring my refund total to $192.29. We did not take the money from the technician. I am disgusted that a business owner would not follow up with a customer himself and that he would ask an employee to cover his mistake. It was not the technician's fault for the being misinformed about the amount I was quoted for the animal removal. I called again very upset about the text that I received from the technician, and Randy has yet again failed to contact me back. read more

Horrible customer service. They do not stand by their guarantee. Say they will call you back and never do. Have numerous reasons why they do not call you back. Receptionist seems to run the business and tells customers to take their business elsewhere. read more

I paid for a year, but then had Terminix come to the house offering more service for a better price. I canceled my contract (I had never had an issue previously, and the service techs were great...this review has nothing to do with their service, but with corporate) and was issued a refund that was over $100 LESS than it should have been. If you do go with them, PAY QUARTERLY! This way, if you want to leave, you wont get screwed! I plan on reporting this to the BBB immediately! read more

Interesting, I had tried calling several times during the service month for follow-up to some bug problems. They weren't anxious to respond to that. We received our 2nd service yesterday and I was highly impressed. Gil showed up to the minute on time, was very friendly and courteous. He did not rush through the treatment of the inside and outside of the house as we have seen before with follow up visits. My family home with 4 dogs, a toddler and 3 children have a wasp nest outside our door that is no exaggeration, the size of a football and is swarmed with wasp. The business closes at 5:30, I call at 4:45 and was greeted by a woman and I said I have two questions, told her the situation and asked 1: if someone can get out there before they close and 2: do they have any help or advice for us on how to handle it if not because we don't need anyone attacked. She very rudely and sarcastically says "what no ma'am we can't get anyone out there, it's already 5 o clock!" which she didn't have to say it like i was an idiot so I tell her okay no problem it was a shot in the dark, and she goes on about how they can't help until Friday and I said ok on that note since I can't get help, what can we do until then, and she said "ugh well I don't know go buy some wasp spray or something". Just the attitude, the way to wants to treat a customer like an idiot, I'm fully aware of wasp spray, I just don't want to spray it and get swarmed by 40+ wasp. Just rude, could've asked a technician for a safe approached, instead she was just trying to get me off the phone. read more
